39 Little known fact, VI Lenin , excerpt from the letter to the American Workers:

"The history of modern, civilised America opened with one of those great, really liberating, really revolutionary wars of which there have been so few compared to the vast number of wars of conquest which, like the present imperialist war, were caused by squabbles among kings, landowners or capitalists over the division of usurped lands or ill-gotten gains. That was the war the American people waged against the British robbers who oppressed America and held her in colonial slavery, in the same way as these “civilised” bloodsuckers are still oppressing and holding in colonial slavery hundreds of millions of people in India, Egypt, and all parts of the world." And then he goes on about the English and German imperialists, bourgeoisie and other malcontents...

"The American people resorted to these tactics long ago to the advantage of their revolution. When they waged their great war of liberation against the British oppressors, they had also against them the French and the Spanish oppressors who owned a part of what is now the United States of North America. In their arduous war for freedom, the American people also entered into “agreements” with some oppressors against others for the purpose of weakening the oppressors and strengthening those who were fighting in a revolutionary manner against oppression, for the purpose of serving the interests of the oppressed people. The American people took advantage of the strife between the French, the Spanish and the British; sometimes they even fought side by side with the forces of the French and Spanish oppressors against the British oppressors; first they defeated the British and then freed themselves (partly by ransom) from the French and the Spanish."

94 There was a long-running quibble between Spain and Russia over who was the first to offer a diplomatic recognition to the new United States. Of course, in both cases it was their old imperial government that did it.

Fireworks has a unique social position in the US, thanks to Adams I expect. In other countries, they have always been put on by the powers-that-be to celebrate their primacy. There is a resulting tension, here, between the Big City Committee Show and a bunch of rangy dangerous scalawags on vacant lots. It's a little like defining "militia" as the National Guard.

198 A video leaked of Trump denigrating Kamala? Just like everyone else does?

Quelle horreur! I'm sure that will hurt his campaign.

That guy could say "when I am president, I plan to chain Harris to a wheel that grinds the millet for her own gruel" and his polling would probably improve.

Masquerade, buffoonery, coquetry, frivolous scenes… "A venal, frivolous thing" — this is how the artist spoke of the series of works that made him famous. A virtuoso watercolourist, an excellent graphic artist, a master of portraiture, a subtle landscape painter — it’s all about Somov. 221 Ah, the Daily Beast and the NeverTrump NY Post...

Trump Gives Brutally Candid Assessment Of Biden, Harris After Debate Disaster

Former President Donald Trump referred to President Biden as a “broken-down pile of crap” in a leaked video where the Republican White House hopeful suggests his 2024 opponent will soon drop out of the race.

The video clip, obtained by the Daily Beast, shows the 78-year-old presumptive GOP presidential nominee sitting in a golf cart — with his son Barron Trump riding shotgun — as he critiques the 81-year-old president and offers his analysis on the state of the race.
