For a breath of fresh air - one of the last Tuskegee airmen, Retired Air Force Lt. Col. Harry T. Stewart Jr., turned 100 yesterdayl (4th of July) and they threw him a big birthday celebration. After deploying to Italy in 1944 and being assigned to the 332 Fighter Group for black airmen, Stewart completed 43 Long Range Bomber escort missions and destroyed three enemy aircraft.

The WEF wins again: Translating Keir Starmer's first speech as British Prime Minister
On the bright side, Nigel Farage and Reform UK, the nationalist conservative party with a mission to restore sovereignty and outlaw mass migration, outperformed expectations. On the other side of the spectrum, several MPs were elected on the promise of essentially restoring power to Hamas in Gaza, which is not just morally repugnant, but an issue that has absolutely nothing to do with the interests of the U.K. And it is surely clear to everyone that our country needs a bigger reset, a rediscovery of who we are. Because no matter how fierce the storms of history, one of the great strengths of this nation has always been our ability to navigate a way through to calmer waters. The Klaus Schwab Great Reset did not suffice. We need an even “bigger reset,” it seems! Recall that nothing about this speech is coming out in extemporaneous fashion. “Bigger reset” was a deliberate, studied choice of words. https://bit.ly/45UNkRF Posted by: Clyde Shelton at July 05, 2024 04:29 PM (P5BPp) 69

I don't care very much how Trump/Biden do in a head-to-head contest. At this point, I'd care MORE about Trump/Harris in a 3-way poll, with Kennedy included. That leaves the 25th, but a majority of Biden's cabinet and VP would all have to turn on him. And he'd still be in office, just sidelined while the VP runs things. cutting net migration, ending reliance on foreign workers; at least that is their "manifesto"; in general, working class Brits are not keen on foreigners or migrants in every community

Rayner announced a new plan to build new migrant housing. Starmer announced a plan to protect migrants. Any thought that he's going to stem the tide is wrong. Labour had to move to the center , and on migration, asylum seekers they were same as Cons. They are socialists , in a sense that they want to expand government, and add government workers. In case of migrants for example, they want to hire more people to "return and enforcement". I guess it's like our Border Patrol?

The Wisconsin Supreme Court ruling is simply ridiculous. The majority opinion bloviates about a "secure" drop box, as designated by the county clerk, being the same as delivery directly to the county clerk. This is wrong on both factual and conceptual grounds, but there is nothing secure whatsoever about an unattended drop box. Mind boggling...

If Biden is unqualified to be the nominee, he is unqualified to be president NOW. Meaning he should resign immediately, and Harris takes over.
But she is terrible at everything. It is arguable whether having a vegetable run the country, or her, is preferable. It's gonna be a long six months.... Oh, and the funniest part of this is when progressives act like WE caused the problem. As if Trump did all this. Posted by: El Mariachi, Attorney at Law! at July 05, 2024 06:39 PM (mvURQ) 233
Two reminders:
The 25th Amendment only has _feasible_ application in clear cases incapacity. -Not in questionable cases of diminished capacity. If the Dems were to even attempt it (i.e., more than merely threaten it), they could easily end up in much worse condition electorally than they are in now. 25iving Biden would very probably fail; and the political blow-back would be horrendous. The donor class can threaten to sit it out all they want. Once it becomes clear that Biden will remain the nominee, the money will flow. The DNC will make the credible argument that they need massive amounts of money to stop Trump from obtaining big majorities in the House and Senate. So: The. Spice. Must. Flow. (And Biden will be the nominee.) Posted by: Bach in Black at July 05, 2024 06:49 PM (+oqUV) 234
