Official details remain scant about the deadly March 19 raid at the Malinowski home in a fancy neighborhood in West Little Rock.
The executive director of the Little Rock Airport, Malinowski was killed during an early morning raid at his West Little Rock home, when federal agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) served a warrant on a suspicion that Malinowski was illegally selling guns. Malinowski exchanged gunfire with the agents, and was shot in the head. He died two days later.
Apparently, less than 1 minute elapsed between ATF covering his ring security cameras and breaking down his door in early morning hours and the ATF shooting him. He was wanted on gun charges, so the chances he would use a gun in response to unknown intruders was likely 100%. They didn't have to do it like this - they could have done this during the day, identified themselves, instead of presenting the shock and confusion of a potential home invasion.

Well. The next generation of kids needs to learn about the creatures on our planet in order to protect them. If there's no zoos, there's little interest. Pictures on a screen do not garner the same fascination as seeing a creature alive and wishing a few arms reach. We need kids to be interested and engaged.
Breeding programs with some nearly extinct species have successfully helped to garner such interest.
I'm not for keeping big cats in cages with cement floors, but most of our zoos have evolved far past that.

There's a line, and that line is settled on two points:
1. Where did you get the animal? If you are supporting the capture and removal of the animal from its natural habitat, that's immoral and should never happen.
2. The artificial habitat in which the animal is being held must be free enough that the animal doesn't feel like it's being held in captivity.
Some would argue against any breeding happening in captivity, but that's a discussion for another day.

There's a fabulous organization in Keenesburg, CO that rescues predators: lions, tigers, bears, wolves. https://www.wildanimalsanctuary.org/
They bring in animals from all over the worlds, and some of the stories of prior captivity are heartbreaking. back in 2009-ish iirc, two South American countries passed laws that banned ownership of big cats. Great, except the people that owned them were going to kill them rather than break the law. Did PETA help, did any of the local bleeding-heart organizations have a solution to this unintended consequence? No. The Wild Animal Sanctuary chartered planes, got all the cats they could (30+) and brought them to CO.
The great thing about this place is that it's not a zoo - it's for the animals. Visitors can't get too close, it's really more about educating them and raising money - because those cats and other predators need a lot of meat! There's a lot of wide open space and these animals have room to roam and live as comfortably as possible given they wouldn't survive being let back into the wild.

"Frowing upon" abuse and neglect is not in the Bible. Neither is capturing them to do whatever you want with them.
So yeah, if you can make the distinction between how you treat animals and humans, you better be careful about it.

4th of July celebrations were fun, because kids of all ages like fireworks. And food, and camaraderie. Maybe things are a little tight this year, but that fine fellow just down the street has a trunk full of goodies and wants to share. It's like a veritable "Nail Soup" - "I might have some stuff in the basement that goes boom, now that I remember...." You can't schedule fun, except within certain parameters maybe.
