Hello, JQ! I woke up about an hour earlier than I intended, and was in on the last thread. Still (with the aid of coffee and a short pipe smoke) I feel pretty energized. Maybe that two-hour nap yesterday afternoon has something to do with it, too.
'Tis Tuesday, AoSHQ satellites. Make ready for a return to The Real World! I'd hoped this week would be my last before retirement. At the moment, I'm planning on a hard deadline of July 31. Only two more months to slog through --! Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at May 28, 2024 04:19 AM (omVj0) 10
In the last thread, John Drake suggested the possibility that, since my mother was Canadian by birth, I might be not only an honorary Canadian, but could claim dual citizenship. Once that might have appealed to me. After seeing how dictatorial they were about the Sniffle Scare and Clot Shot, and noting their headlong rush toward communism, I wouldn't bother about it even if it were true.

JQ, yes, I'm sure I can do this last two months. Right now, with the heat and humidity, plus the imbecilic nature of the denizens here, every time I leave my apartment I find myself getting frustrated and exasperated, if not furious. Miss Linda's crazy idea of rescuing an abandoned fire extinguisher, which promptly leaked and send white dust all through the interior of my car, was pretty close to the last straw.
Anyway! To paraphrase Travis Tritt, I have a three-day beard I *do* plan to shave. A shower, breakfast for the cats and then me, and off I'll go to my office. Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at May 28, 2024 04:33 AM (omVj0) 25

I have a Moto G54, one step down in the previous generation. Great phone. Does everything I need. Cost about $120.
I've been buying Moto Gs for myself and my family for years. Inexpensive, reasonably reliable, and close to stock Android. I like to treat phones as fairly disposable - if someone drops one or breaks theirs, or the battery or charging port gives out, I'll just go purchase a new one, swap the sim card and microsd card and we'll be good to go. Posted by: JQ at May 28, 2024 04:32 AM (njWTi) - It's processed. I doubt they need to "ultra-process" it. No, I'm not advocating eating bug meal. There are difference between the 2. Most of our foods are "processed" in some way or at some level. That doesn't automatically make the bad. But the truly ultra-processed garbage is usually unhealthy, cheaper to produce and sometimes an economic way for a manufacturer to use up waste byproducts from their other food manufacturing lines. It's like the judge telling the jury their is only one path they can take, and its guilty on all counts. Bragg’s legal vision for non-objective indictments was greatly advanced by Judge Juan Merchan, who will allow the jury to reach different rulings on what crime is actually evident in Bragg’s paint splatters.
Merchan has even ruled that the jurors can disagree on what actually occurred in terms of the second crime. unconstitutional 6 to 3 said the jury must be unanimous on conspiracy Posted by: rhennigantx at May 28, 2024 06:37 AM (ENQN6) 98

Well, like straight people like some gays can be very interesting but not because they are gay. IMO, Douglas Murray is interesting and incredibly clever and smart. He wouldn't not be interesting to me if I didn't enjoy his writing or verbal debates with people and was simply a gay in sequins and a pink outfit on top of a Gay Pride float. Eh nonsense. Many companies/departments are just too retarded to make any real use of the data. We are largely a nation of lazy idiots churned out by a dysfunctional "education" system. I've worked it with directly. The info the major players have on the public in aggregate and per-specific-person is fucking amazing. *Some* users are cleaning house with it. Ironically a good use of a lot of the new dodgy AI stuff is doing the gruntwork so you don't have to hire Indians and Eastern Europeans to do it for you.
