21 This was long believed to be a portrait of the celebrated Italian poet Ludovico Ariosto (1474–1533), and then later thought to be a self portrait by Titian. However, the man is likely to be one of Titian’s friends – a member of the aristocratic Barbarigo family. Now we must admit we have no fucking clue to this person identity.

How did they arrive at 14? Most stuff has some kind of round number like 5 or 10 or 15 or 20, or it's undefined and you just cram as many entries in as you need and keep writing on the back if you run out of room.

How'd they determine that 14 was the right number? I strongly suspect it is based on something real.

108 Willowing myself from before…

Joe Mannix brought up 401k matching and said the match guarantees no losses, as long as the loss is less than the match.

That doesn’t quite work percentage wise. Losing X% is more than making x%.

Say you contribute $1000. Employer matches 50%, or $500. You now have $1500. All it takes is a 34% drop to make your $1000 turn into less than $1000. A full 50% loss turns the $1500 into $750, ie a 25% loss on the initial $1000.

All because they are forced to make EVs due to the WEF policies enacted in every western nation's Deep State. In the USA, it's the EPA regulations and standards, put in place by the Obama Administration in 2009. Trump Administration put a stop to the ridiculous increase in those regulations, but they were put back on track by the Biden Administration after the stolen election.

Trump Administration America First policies also penalized companies for outsourcing and incentivized companies for adding jobs in the USA. That was also ended after the stolen election.

This is interesting framing by Bloomberg, and subtle.

It's true as such. More dollars are entering employees' pockets, but proportionally more production is not entering the economy.

But the framing is where it's interesting. "Sustained productivity slowdown could limit inflation progress" See what they did there? They transferred the burden.

The productivity drop is *because* of the inflation. People need more money but inflation is outpacing growth. It's corrosive. The productivity drop - units produced per dollar (or hour, depending on basis) - would not have happened if not for the inflation. It's a consequence, not a cause of the current inflation (as opposed to, for example, oversized wage gains due to a new union contract).

But Bloomberg just shifted the cause off of government and onto employees.

The author treats Biden as competent, accuses Blinken of bending over backwards for an ally, and regurgitates international, eternal Israel condemnation. The Right needs to wake up to the fact that using the "both siiiiiiides" argument with little evidence of wrongdoing on one side (and plenty on the other) is going to play right into the hands of genocidal maniacs.

I think Elijah Woods earned enough from LOTR that he really doesn't have to work any more, so he can just focus on indie projects that sound interesting to him.

252 If one uses stolen technology and slave labor, I think EV can turn a profit, assuming the governments mandate consumers purchase one every three or four years.

The EPA regulations make it impossible for ICE vehicles to meet the standard targets for fuel economy and CO2 emissions. Thus, every automaker has eliminated gas vehicles from their future product line going forward. The ridiculous targets -- (which come with company-destroying fines and sales bans) -- start in 2025.

Knowing that, I bought a new gas vehicle last year. Will likely be the last I am allowed to buy going forward as new ones will no longer be available.

=======

Radcliffe most likely made a whole lot more, so he's doing that too.

He's in plays all the time. He stuff like Swiss Army Man or Guns Akimbo.

He's also made a nice documentary about his stunt guy who got crippled while making Harry Potter 4.

He's just a nutter who thinks that saying men are men and women are women is an attack on trans people.

The only thing he's done after LOTR that I've liked was Dirk Gentley's Holistic Detective Agency, other than that he seems to be mostly producing.

263 Of course, they are getting what they pay for with these "engineers". The majority of them are awful.

And the real cost of shitty engineering is shitty product quality and increased production costs which are easy to bury and blow off.

And the government actually makes less in taxes.

264 So the Pride season has started early. There were "pride" band aids on the shelf at the market, because of course, that's what every mom and dad should first think of when your kids trips on exercise equipment at the park and has a bloody forehead :"I must show everyone that I support LBGTQ rights. Get me a rainbow band aid." (Sigh) And it's not even June yet.
