Biden Slurs His Way Through a Shpeech About Funding His Paymaters In Ukraine
Update: At Fundraiser, Biden Accidentally Reads Aloud the Scripted Stage Directions

He immediately signed the bill into law, then let his Ukranian masters know that the Biden Brand is all about prompt service.

Joe Biden delivered remarks on Wednesday on Iran and Israel, and the passage of the bill that gives supplemental aid to Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan.

Of course, because it's Joe Biden, most of the comments centered around his priority -- Ukraine.

Incredibly, he claims we're "investing in our own industrial base" by giving our stores away to Ukraine because we have to replenish it. We wouldn't have to spend that amount if he didn't give our stores away.

Biden claimed they were trying to surge aid now so as not to drag the U.S. into a war in the future if Putin attacked a NATO country. But we are already involved in this war, with a seemingly endless supply of money/weapons going out to Ukraine, with no goal set that would signify the end of our involvement.

He noted the bill was also sending aid to Israel. Even with the teleprompter, he had difficulty, slurring and dropping words in what he had to say.

He tripped all over himself, trying to talk about the allies who helped against the Iran attack.

He is senile:

Below:

"Four more years. Pause."

What was in the script, I believe, was (four more years pause). In other words, they scripted the crowd to "spontaneously burst into a four more years chant," and wanted Biden to pause for it to let them read their scripted lines.

But he just read it out loud.

Biden routinely reads out his stage directions. I am sure they've tried to deal with this - different colors, different fonts, etc. - and it just doesn't work.

Not really true about Russia anymore. Essentially China (electronics etc.), Iran (drones), and the North Koreans (artillery shells) are propping up the Russian military machine. Russia essentially is trading oil and other goodies for it.

China and to some extent Iran and the Norks actually have their economies able to support their own military actions.

A kindergarten kid would know better.

Plus, I'll guarantee you that the teleprompter guys put all kinds of flags and notices around the stage directions to make it clear that he's not supposed to actually say them out loud -- he's done that so much in the past -- and yet this fartclam jelly-brain still can't figure it out.

I like the alleged Milton Friedman response to the CCP guy when he was touring a Chinese construction site where there were a lot of workers with shovels .

That's on top of how they have a strict embargo on any photos of the teleprompter.

Last one I saw, it was a giant column hiding a screen the size of an old 1980's "big screen" TV.
Because the teleprompter you know is those little plates of glass to the left and right.
The font size now required is so big, single word per line is all that fits.

This is also why he messes up more and more-- there's even a limit to his setup, so anything longer than one sentence gets botched.

I've gone on about this at length. Nobody is in control.

The Party has absolute control of the government, yes, but nobody has absolute control of the Party right now. It's all factional warfare all the way down. Powerful Politburo members have their own power networks, intelligence sources, areas of influence, etc.

It's one of the reasons our policies are increasingly insane. The US takes action against and for Red China, and does so at the same time. Ditto Israel. Etc. Nobody is in charge. It's rule-by-committee and the committee members have their own interests and ambitions.

Like in the USSR, this will end and we'll get consistent policy again once a new Dear Leader with ability to crack skulls in a serious way rises up. We have a Chernenko right now, with similar results. Eventually, we'll get a Khrushchev and things will stabilize. If we're lucky, we'll get a Gorbachev who pushes on the wrong supports and the wheels will come off altogether until the state fails due to the accumulated rot.

159 Not really true about Russia anymore. Essentially China (electronics etc.), Iran (drones), and the North Koreans (artillery shells) are propping up the Russian military machine. Russia essentially is trading oil and other goodies for it.

China and to some extent Iran and the Norks actually have their economies able to support their own military actions.
Posted by: whig at April 24, 2024 01:43 PM (cViPl)

Yeah, those silly Russians are only able to produce 1 million plus 152mm artillery rounds per year. The reason why they went to the NORKs, because they were firing north of 100K rounds of 152mm on a monthly basis. They traded the NORKs some oil and possibly hypersonic missile tech for artillery rounds. The Ukies can't even counter battery fire anymore, they have winchestered on artillery rounds of various flavors. From reports I've read, the FUSA can produce about 100K 155mm artillery rounds per year. This $65 billion is to keep the Ukie government afloat, and possibly coke-head Zelensky alive, for the time being.

Posted by: Blackpilled Steve

Media coverage is a bit idiotic. Right now, the GOP has 218 members and the Dems are down to 212 after the death. 5 vacancies with three GOP and two Dems empty seats via resignation and death. All three of the GOP vacancies (other than Gallagher who has not resigned yet apparently) are due to be filled by special elections in the next two months or so and most likely holds by the GOP. Ditto for the NY Dem seat that is vacant and the NJ seat but dunno when those special elections will be held which depends on state law.

179 Kristol: Congress Pokes Trump, Putin in Eye. Only months ago, congressional Republicans, in a fit of pique spurred by Donald Trump, killed a nearly identical aid package that also contained a number of border security measures.

...a (slight) majority of all Congressional Republicans voted for aid to Ukraine. Most Republican members of Congress took a position on a very important issue against their presidential nominee. That is unusual in American politics. So the GOP is still Trump’s party. But it’s somewhat less so than it was before this week.

Trump hasn’t budged in any fundamental way from the anti-Ukraine, pro-Putin, and anti-NATO stance that he’s embraced for years. So the congressional vote couldn’t help but be a statement of independence from Trump.

If he is to have a chance to win, Trump depends on holding the support of normal Republicans...there’s a different type of undecided voter in play as well...a conflicted and cross-pressured voter.

Call them Nikki Haley voters.

Yesterday in Pennsylvania, 156,000 Republicans voted for Nikki Haley. That’s over 16 percent of the Republicans who voted. That is a lot of Republican voters against Trump.

There are some. Most of the stuff the Party does doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. But where there are factional disagreements, you do see it in the press and this happens in the same way it did in the USSR.

They had two papers - Pravda ("Truth," the Party paper) and Izvestia ("News," the State paper). Usually, Pravda and Izvestia agreed. Sometimes, they did not. When they disagreed, you could learn where the conflicts were so long as you read both papers.

It's the same here. We have the WaPo and its orbit (the Party and IC paper) and we have the NYT and its orbit (the State and LE paper). They usually agree. They sometimes don't. Most of the press focuses on neither issues nor disagreements and just disseminates propaganda. What they spread depends on who is charge, but it's rarely in opposition to anyone else's.

Reforms are possible but it will cost the elite about everything they have extracted from the system over the last 70 years or so. So they cannot contemplate losing power in every institution and their financial gains necessary to do it.

The usual path to reform is a strong man via a coup. The alternative path is a bloody civil war or revolution. Both usually end up resetting the clock on a regime but change the underlying rules and incentives for elites for a time.

What people get wrong on the right is that the left in this country seized power in a 2020 coup and have been desperately been trying to consolidate power in a failing system. It was NOT a popular revolution but simply the left seizing power via a vast election cheat in 2020 and its institutions that it controlled along with its uniparty GOP buddies ratifying it.

Let’s recall some memories of Pelosi. Did she ever have to deal with her party not lining up behind her? If she decided the path, it mattered not one iota who was for or against. We don’t have that discipline and it shows.

_________

The Dums always lined up in lockstep behind her. I don't recall her doing anything unpopular with her base. Of course, all she did was promote commie leftwing causes and spend taxpayer money, so of course they were behind her.

The problem with the GOP is that they're all cheap whores. I guarantee you that the 100 GOP shitmongers that voted for this abomination got tons of calls from constituents and others who will be making bank off this foreign "aid" promising nice fat bribes if they voted in favor of it.

As do I. The only way this could happen is if $35k or similarly-sized invoices are so routine that nobody bothered to look and see if it was legitimate and if services or goods were actually delivered. He just stroked a check and went to lunch.

If that's the case, WTF is the Lincoln Project spending so much money on - and so frequently - that a $35k mystery invoice didn't raise any eyebrows?

Yet if Haley was the nominee they would be talking about how CRAZY the Haley Supporters are. THE Left is weird.
Posted by: ...

The left looks at anyone to the right of them as lacking sufficient purity and deserving of death and impoverishment as oppressors. For the left, politics is religious in nature and heretics to their religious tenets must be destroyed so that heaven on earth can be established. Even the 'nice' ones have seething hate underneath it all of any political opposition to their tenets and would kill in a nanosecond if they thought they could get away with it.

That is because the left believes that they are on the side of angels and the correct side of history. It is easier to go back to the politics of the 30 Years War than to use the outmoded left-right model of the French Assembly after the Revolution.

History says it can't last. One difference in our situation is the natural separation of powers. If the fed falls apart the states could readily pick up what was necessary and the country would keep right on humming economically.

That reality hasn't ever been tested.
