Polls, Schmolls: Trump Up by 3 Nationally; Biden Continues Loosing the Yute Vote

A poll from left-tilting Emerson puts Trump up over Biden 46-43 nationally, and 51-48 with leaners included.

Trump consistently outperforms his polls. And he's almost never been shown to be ahead of his opponent in any poll from 2016 or 2020, despite winning handily in 2016 and nearly winning (it's complicated, fortification was involved) in 2020.

Now he's always ahead of Biden.

Biden keeps losing ground with absolute must-have constitutencies.

A recent Harvard IOP poll indicates a significant narrowing of President Biden's lead among young voters, with only an 8-point lead over Trump, down from 23 points in 2020, amidst controversial policies aimed at courting this demographic.

Biden's lead over Trump among 18-29-year-olds has plummeted from 23 points in spring 2020 to just 8 points in spring 2024.

In an apparent bid to regain favor, Biden proposes canceling student loan debt in contrast to his unpopular stance on banning TikTok, a platform beloved by the youth.

These moves suggest a strategy to buy youth support as the November election approaches, raising questions about the sincerity and effectiveness of such policies.

I mentioned this poll yesterday -- most Americans say that Trump isn't guilty of anything, and the Soros DA prosecution is a political hit-job.

A recent AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll reveals that the majority of Americans do not believe former President Donald Trump broke the law his hush money case. The poll also indicates a general skepticism about the fairness of the prosecutors, judge, and jurors involved in the case.

Key Details:

Only about one-third of U.S. adults believe Trump committed an illegal act in the hush money case. 35% think Trump acted illegally, 31% see his actions as unethical but not illegal, and 14% believe he did nothing wrong.

Only 31% are confident that Trump is being treated fairly by the prosecution, and about 20% trust the fairness of jurors and judges.

Trump campaign spokesperson Karoline Leavitt described the trial as "political persecution" and claimed it is part of a strategy to undermine Trump politically.

Yes, NEARLY winning, until a "broken pipe" that wasn't broken in Atlanta forced 5 heavily democrat cities to kick out all the election observers. At which point, Biden miraculously gained a lead when no one was watching the counters.

"Nearly" winning.

11 If they're going to follow the normal pattern, the polls should reflect the electorate "paying more attention" after summer when suddenly, Republicans start doing better.

Of course, I'm unclear what incentive any media poll has to actually try and be accurate at all, especially 7 months out from an election.

When people talk about this poll or that poll being accurate, they don't say, "Well, Pollster X got it bang on in April." They say, "Pollster X's final poll, done right before the election, was bang on."

No one remembers the polls from April.

Huh. That's a bit interesting.

That 31% are unshakable Party loyalists and there's nothing surprising there, but 2/3 of them (I am assuming there are damn few people who think that the prosecution is unfair but that the judges and juries aren't) are worried about an obviously corrupt judge and highly-jiggered jury when it comes to getting their man.

With 4 years of calling him Hitler and hyping up every little thing that could go wrong as well as "chaos" and then, on top of it, covid and the purposeful shutting down of the economy, they still relied on mail in ballot fraud for months...which wasn't enough. They had to shut down ballot counting in six states in the middle of the night to ballot box stuff like Tammany Hall...in the open because their panic was so obvious.

The media ain't dead. They made the panic of covid happen.

OK, I gotta opine on Sydney Sweeney. Everyone who's praising her makes it sound like she's another Jayne Mansfield. She just isn't. Yeah, her online images are cute enough, and she does seem to have a well-developed set of funbags. But that Polish chick that Aetius posted a couple of threads back has her totally licked in the boobage department.

I mean, I've never actually seen her move around on screen, so I could quite possibly be missing something. But, in my opinion, Winona Ryder, when she started out, was as good as, or better, than Sydney. Same with a lot of other breasted actresses.

I don't get the swooning over Sydney. Rant off.

75 No, I'm asserting that an accurate count of actual votes in PA over the past thirty years would more than likely have led to Republican victories.

That Philly's election system is so fake that to reflect only actual votes counted, it would tilt the entire state red.

Either Philly is polluting the results enough to steal the state or

Those drug zombies you see on the streets yelling at people that aren't there and getting high are dedicated Dem voters that turn out every election cycle, only EVER vote for a D candidate, and only for whoever is the topline candidate (eg President).

77 Peripherally related…. I find it galling (to say the least) that we now have election season and not Election Day. Everyone talks about November 5 but the cheaters (I mean…. Harvesters) will start gathering ballots in September in some states. It’s insane…. These polling snapshots are usually taken over a 3-7 day period so even the timeframe of the polls doesn’t match a 2-month election season…. Sigh

110 Mail in ballots without signature verification in states where the voter roles are not kept up, which is key to the fraud, still exist. Especially in states like Michigan where the electoral vote is all that matters. There have been a few key rulings in several states with respect to the signature, but the fact is that mail in ballots are not confidential and Democrat activists have largely been running around and filling them out, or turning them out fraudulently in large enough numbers to make a difference.

Overall I think on this environment if Trump loses, and it happens like last time where they just keep printing and counting for days until Democrats win, it's going to be the final straw for a lot of people.

If you've ever seen The Big Short, which I recommend, it's an exact parallel. The guys who shorted real estate, knowing that it was a bubble, couldn't figure out why the stock prices weren't nosediving with the huge rise in mortgages in default. They eventually figured out that the game was rigged. Ratings services like Standard and Poor's, and Moody's were giving knowingly fraudulent ratings in order to keep the business. This went on for a long time, until it just imploded. Slowly, than all at once.

I hope that's the stage where the Dems are now.

I obviously wasn't there, but I believe the quote that 1/3 of the country sided with the crown, 1/3 against, and 1/3 simply did not care. It's always been like this.

Now, lets make it more interesting. I don't think the NorthEast ... location of most of that original 1/3, has changed much either. Show me one leader - any will do - that's every came from the NorthEast that was a champion of individual freedom.

---
I don't.
Because, if you recall, all the blue cities with those arenas were locked down.
They basically banned Trump from his greatest strength.

The open-air rallies at airports didn't have the same punch.

I keep saying, you realize how insane 2020 was with the lockdowns?
How insane "2 weeks to flatten the curve" became months and months?"
You realize that the lockdowns--to enforce social distancing-- was the linchpin for not just keeping Trump from campaigning but also all the the fraud? The mail ballots, the drop boxes, the extended voting, all of it.

180 I (heart) good polling news for Trump as much (prolly MORE) as anyone.

That said, I think the Emerson poll Ace cites is a bit of an outlier. It's much better for Team Orange (Trump +3) than ten or so other recent polls.

Biden has definitely improved his polling numbers in the last couple of weeks. Look at the RCP averages.

Also, the fact that Emerson College is left-leaning doesn't mean that the polls they commission are also. Reuters has reported some of Trump's best polling, & it hardly needs to be said that Reuters despises Trump.

I think Trump's recent campaign appearances have been masterful-- the bodega, and the slain cop's funeral (while Biden had a big dollar FR). It looks to me like whoever chose these venues has a spot of talent!

I don't believe any national polls. According to the head of the Insider Advantage poll many media pollsters have been changing their polls to include registered voters and changing techniques to include things like panels instead of random phone calls.

There is no way in hell that Joe Biden has improved his polls over the last couple months. Things have either stayed the same or gotten worse in the country. Biden goes to his home turf in PA and draws 50 people to a boring speech while Trump goes to Harlem of all places and has a huge, enthusiastic crowd. Things don't add up with the polls.

Bingo. It's a pity Rae Dawn Chong had to go and get to 29 like the rest of us. She had talent and looks could be the one getting all this work the cafe au lait block of wood is getting.

236 128 Here' another interesting development. RCP now saying Rs have 49 Senate seats in the bag with 8 tossups! Dms only 43.

Posted by: Sharon(willow's apprentice) at April 18, 2024 05:10 PM (t/2Uw)

Sharon, don't bet your favorite gub this means the Repubs will take the Senate this fall. The vote for Senators is state-wide. Cheating in Big Blue locations can get a Dem Senator elected in purple states just as it works to get Biden a fraudulent win. (Refeences: 2020; AZ, GA, MI, PA.)

I'm a major league pessimist, however, so you stay positive!

237 >Every now and then I play "eat or throw out?"

yeah, it's always those products like mustard, ketchup, sliced jalapenos, stuff you can't remember when you opened it. then you look closely at the label and see you bought it in 2002

Posted by: Don Black at April 18, 2024 05:45 PM (oCjPU)

238 To make the inevitable cheat possible without the country heading straight into CW 2.0 on November 6th they HAVE to keep Biden within spitting distance. Everything you mentioned is highly likely.

One possible answer - get the US into the Ukraine war. Then start throwing people in jail for questioning the "war effort".

I lean towards the taste and continue method. If it still tastes good, I roll with it.

May be why my immune system is good. I give it plenty of opportunities.

I don't think so, but there are those that say she can sing pretty good.

I find her average and moderately talent free. But, I've only had very limited exposure to her stuff.

249 194 Straw-man

The trendlines in the polls are the most important part. When poll A shows Biden improving with each new poll, and Polls B,C,D, & E show the same trend, I don't think you can just wish that away. Something HAS changed, & it's not a corrupt conspiracy by all the pollsters, either.

Consumer confidence has been improving also, as well as the results for the question, "Do you expect the economy will get better or worse?"

I think those perceptions account for Biden's modest but measurable improvement. The jobs data, at least the topline, are holding up quite well. (I think the good topline numbers are a mirage, but that's a story for another thread.)

255 211 Joe should be eating Jello on a porch somewhere but no this fucker is going to stick around long enough to fuck everything up and then just up and die thinking he was the greatest president ever. I said at the beginning of this fiasco that it was going to be a disaster and still at least half the country still thinks everything is just fine. We are fucking doomed.

I watched the first Biden-Trump 2020 debate with several co-workers. Afterwards one of them, a young, very smart and level-headed Hispanic guy, asked me who I planned to vote for and why. I told him Trump. I said I could never vote for Biden. I said I'd watched numb-nuts Biden in action for 40 years. I knew he would fork-up the economy, foreign policy, general domestic policy, and everything else he was determined to fix. I told him Trump was far from perfect but would do infinitely better on everything than Biden ever could.

I asked him who he would vote for. He thanked me for my comments and said he was still undecided. He added that he was not sure he could vote for Trump, though, because Trump didn't talk and act like he believed a President should.
