Matt Taibbi was asked "why doesn't he pay much attention to the sins (or threats) from "the right"?" He gave a great answer: Why I don't spend a lot of time on the Republicans:
1) There is a enormous army of MSM reporters already going after them from every angle, with most major news organizations little more than proxies for the DNC, to the point where stations hire Biden spokespeople as anchors;Humorous timing for this observation, don't you think?
2) The Republicans have very little institutional power nationally. It's not their point of view prevailing in schools, on campuses, in newsrooms (where over 90% of working reporters vote blue), and especially in the intelligence and military apparatus, which has openly aligned itself with Democrats. Even if Donald Trump were a "threat to Democracy" he lacks the institutional pull to do much damage, which can't be said of Democrats;Clarity.
3) The Democrats' ambitions are significantly more dangerous than those of the Republicans. From digital surveillance to censorship to making Intel and enforcement agencies central players in domestic governance -- all plans being executed globally as well as in our one country -- they are thinking on a much bigger and more dangerous scale than Republicans. I lived in third world countries and the endless criminal indictments of people like Trump and ongoing lawfare efforts to prevent even third party challenges are classic authoritarian symptoms. The Republicans aren't near this kind of capability;He covers a lot of issues here. How is it that so many people do not seem to see problems with any of them, given that army of reporters out there?
4) Last and most important, the Democrats are being organized around a more potent but also much dumber, more cultlike ideology. People like Yuval Harari and his Transhumanist "divinity" concept scare me a lot more than the Rs, and I was once undercover in an apocalyptic church in Texas. Ask your average Russian or Cuban what overempowered pseudo-intellectuals are capable of. I have a pretty good record of picking dangerous phenomena ahead of time. I feel confident on this one, and that's before we get to the demographic/class shifts in the parties.I can't find anything in the text above that seems mushy-headed. Thoughts? People generally have no idea how dangerous Democrats are. They believe it's hyperbole and politics. It isn't. If you've been on any flights lately you know the threats are real. The invasion of illegals immigrants is well organized and planned. The logistics could only be accomplished with government resources. These people are given money, shelter, healthcare, schooling and legal assistance. Many are carrying instructions on where to go and how to continue staying in the country- some even on how to vote. Many carry laminated instructions in several languages. They are given priority on many flights with some even in the premium sections eating the best in flight meals. It's insidious and horrifying at the same time. It's paid for completely with your money. It's ignored by the media because it's meant to replace you. To steal your services and rights as citizens. To make you less healthy, even dispose of you faster. To make your kids less educated. To steal your property. Until I saw this for myself, I believed it was overblown. It isn't, and I dare say Democrats will never give up power in November. They are completely undermining that entire process. It ends in an ugly way.

If Trump doesn't get JFK'd before the election (they might do it) then I could see not a Civil War like the 1860's, but two groups of States both declaring themselves the winners of the election and both setting up parallel governments, each claiming authority. Especially if Congress breaks down and refuses to certify any winner.

Yeah, I hear it was kind of unpleasant for those involved. I still think Spain is a better example - less regional, more ideological.
One of the reasons I don't watch the news (or come here during the week) is because all these events are by themselves inconsequential and find I get more use out of being involved in my community and with my family. If things get sporty, I'm going to rally to my parish, not my online buds.

I agree with this except this is not a 50/50 split. I would say it ismore like a 70/30 split. The difference is that we, the 70%, are starting to finally get it through the heads of the powers that be that we are actually in hte majority. We now have a voice to break through the monopoly the media has had strangling voices of dissent. They just cannot cover up anymore the obvious damage their policies are doing. People are seeing it every day. Crime, addiction, mental illness, skyrocketing costs.

The military is “bad” if the military’s job is protect the US from foreign enemies. But the new military is not for that. It’s from eradicating domestic enemies of the regime. You don’t need millions of soldiers for that stationed around the world.

Perhaps it is Boomer Optimism as my son suggests but, I just can't see it going that far. The Army has around 475K personnel total, the Marines less than 200K. The Airforce has 300K but they are services heavy. I don't see the Navy or the Coast Guard playing a significant role in fighting Americans.

The US would just need to build a new border wall as migrants pour into the new Mexican state. China taking it over would be a disaster for the US because they would make it vibrant and solvent and build 10-20 military bases there.

The other day I went on a mini rant at work, over transportation breakdowns, and how this is connected to the overall collapse that is coming.
I don't know, it was a good rant, I don't remember exactly what I said, but I do remember the people hearing me, it was like talking to a house plant. They say you can affect the health of the plant, if you talk to it, but how would you know?
It's just amazing to realize, the disconnect between people in meat space and reality. When The Thing comes, whatever The Thing is, the vast swath of the populace will be completely blindsided by it.

And many others have closed themselves up completely to hide from the fear. I've never seen such a widespread sense of dread for the future in my life.

The story talked about "men." The ages of all involved seemed to range from 17-19. And I'm guessing, of the participants, at least five of the seven were white boys from "good" homes.
These are the young men a healthy nation would be recruiting to defend itself against threats, foreign and domestic, and they're killing each other over marijuana cartridges.

Yes, the dread is real, it's palpable. Everyone senses it, and I suppose some of those people who weren't really paying attention now are. I strongly suspect most military units these days are avoiding the testing of those who are regularly imbibing in the devil's weed. And recruiters are NOT going to exclude someone from serving, because of a little puffy puffy problem.

The US would just need to build a new border wall as migrants pour into the new Mexican state. Since its an open thread, I got a question for the horde. Does anybody have any experience with the drug Amiodarone? They gave it to me for a few weeks after the bypass surgery. From everything I have read its supposed to continue for a short period after surgery. My discharge papers had it listed to expire on march 15. My jerkoff cardiologist seems bent on keeping me on it. Its for Afib, and I don't have afib, but what I got lately is a shit load of side effects. I get sudden shortness of breath, and a few other things listed in the side effects. I was doing great up until week 5, and then this shit started kicking in, and from what I read it takes a few weeks to really get into your system, which is what I'm probably feeling now. I was walking 1/2 mile a day while gabbing on the phone with zero shortness of breath, now this crap is starting. My instincts are telling me stop taking it and telling the cardiologist to fuck off and die. Every time I call I get one of the brain dead office minions and never him. Opinions??

I do not know anything about that drug specifically, but I have learned through the years to never ignore your instincts. I have seen many instances where the drugs prescribed to a patient cause much more trouble than the original problem itself.

Amio can cause pulmonary problems. But it is more than just for afib. See your cardiologist to discuss it before you just stop.

continued from 338: you know what I'd rather be doing? Hitting the range. Doing real activities that prepare me and my colleagues for things we might see downrange. Instead, we get to do DEI lectures and training on "extremism". There's a lot of misplaced priorities I see out there that I have problems with.

Way willowed but: Dear Berserker, I was put on Amiodarone after a series of arrythimias in 11-23, and a heart ICD (debrillator) in 9-23. I have not have any side effects so far, but Amiodarone has a lot of contraindications, so please check with your cardiodiologist or arrymthia doctor! Good luck!
