I'm not a morning tea drinker, more of a nighttime, dessert tea drinker.
I used to go to TeaVana to get loose teas, that was before Starf**ks bought them out and killed them. It used to be quite the ritual going to the tea shop and requesting teas to sample and the tea lady would get the giant canisters, open them and used the lid to waft the aroma at you. One thing that Old Blighty has yet to forget is how to make delicious, quality black tea.
I wonder how long that'll last? Coffee appeared to be the most ordered beverage at breakfast when I was over there last year. The tins of Harrods' Earl Grey and their Mango Tea are running low now. *wipes tear* I've yet to find any black tea here in the states that equals the quality you find in England. Another weird tea thing I've noticed is that it's almost impossible to find good quality Orange Pekoe Loose Leaf Tea anymore, which is probably my favorite tea. And was a big fave among tea drinking Americans in general. Wha'hoppen? No worries though, I'm sure Our Betters will soon release a new, more sustainable - Beyond Orange Pekoe Tea made from chemically mangled crickets and ladybugs. Coming soon to a Grocery Store near you! Posted by: naturalfake at February 24, 2024 08:24 AM (nFnyb) 24

I decided to skip the car washing this morning. It's cool and clear out there, but I still needed to clean me and shave as well. Now that I'm retired I drink coffee for the taste, not to stay awake for 18 to 20 hour work days. (Yeah, I don't miss the office.) But I drink more tea these days, again for the flavor. And I enjoy the little bit of time and care it takes to brew the tea. And I've added some herbal tea to the mix: hibiscus tea and Celestial Seasonings peach tea, which actually tastes like peaches. Both are great hot or as iced tea. I notice the coffee thread went up an hour earlier than usual. I hope it's because Mis. Hum. is going fishing. Prayer up for all. Asking and not asking. I humbly ask for a quick mention if anyone so wishes. I bought a new car so I need a raise. A big raise. Damn, cars are spendy these days. I know food is overrated and all but I'd like some every now and then. Anyway, Mrs Reforger is happy as can be so I was successful. It was badly needed. Today I tackle the fuel pump in my Tacoma. More accurately I have to rip the back of the truck off to replace a $100 part. As they say... the cheaper the part the harder it is to put in. Stupid in tank fuel pumps. All the usual cures failed, but we finally found a pain management specialist who also used traditional Chinese medicine, including acupuncture. I've had both good and bad luck with cheap cars. One, a low mileage Chrysler K Car, was a near perfect example of the "little old lady who only drove it to church on Sundays." It started falling apart as soon as I started driving it daily. Another a Mitsubishi, went almost 200K without major repairs before it succumbed to Teenaged Driver Syndrome.

Posted by: Smell the Glove at February 24, 2024 09:20 AM (840+x) --- They are a necessary condition to be combined with action. Prayer is one of the four weapons of the spiritual combat. The other three are absolute confidence in God, absolute distrust of the self, and reorienting your faculties to righteous things and away from sinful ones. Right now, that last element is hard, because the Enemy is shoving depravity of the worst sort in our faces without stop. Even our holy places are being desecrated. Then I realized it was because he was leading me and carrying me through them. I wept when I was enlightened by those realizations. The Lord comes to you in his own way. He's always there for you, no matter what is happening, or what your struggles are. Remember that this life is one small step in an eternal journey.

Most of them offer "free" rentals on specialty tools made for this job. You want a tie rod separator and a ball joint separator. Having said that, there is an old trick you can do. Understand that in both cases you are dealing with a tapered stud locked into a tapered hole in the forging that is the steering knuckle. Screw the nut back on loosely, so it is flush with the end of the stud, to protect the thread. Place a backup block, like the head of a sledge hammer, on one side of the eye, and held tight against it. Swat the eye HARD on the opposite side. The force of the hammer blows must act 90 degrees to the axis of the stud. You know how you shoot a watermelon seed? Like that. Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at February 24, 2024 10:18 AM (tkR6S) 247

My favorite car is my 2006 Hemi Charger, and I'm amazed it's inching up there in years. I ain't ever getting rid of it. Posted by: Tom Servo at February 24, 2024 11:12 AM It's funny how certain numbers have significance to males of a certain 29 plus year old population: 426, 405, 402, 396, 383, 350, 327 etc... While I have no clue as to the cubic inch displacement of my current vehicle. Posted by: Divide by Zero at February 24, 2024 11:16 AM (nIvob) 342

You can put an alpaca in a Fit.
What's that in adult Indian peacocks? When I lived in CO, I had a semi-retired co-worker who owned an alpaca ranch. He could put two or three in the back of his Subaru Forester. Posted by: Oddbob --- Heh. If google really wanted to do something useful they'd create an alpaca-to-Indian-peacock conversion algorithm. Moo moo, you're making my point for me.
Those cars don't exist. You cannot buy them. They are bait and switch. People who have tried to buy a car in real life know that you will spend around $30K for a stripper Civic or Kia. Same as I said initially. Want something nicer or need something slightly larger? $35 - 45K Posted by: Moron Robbie - Do you remember when our sun used to be yellow? at February 24, 2024 11:18 AM (4m+Do) 347
TBH... I think a lot of former and current politicos should hang for 2020. If for no other reason than a warning not to do that shit again. Posted by: Martini Farmer at February 24, 2024 11:14 AM (Q4IgG) --- That's why I'm skeptical about there being a vote, let alone it being honest. Too many people will go to prison. The decentralized nature of our elections made it difficult to steal one on the national level, but internet vote counting solved that. The judicial system - which inserted itself into every aspect of our lives without any legal basis, now claims that if you file suit before an election, there's no harm, and if you wait after it, the case is moot and there is no remedy. So here we are. I focus my energy on prayer, taking care of my family and reaching out to friends and people in my parish and community. It is very calming. For Lent this year I'm going to a daily Mass in addition to the Sunday one, which is a nice way to stay engaged. I find regulating my life by events in the parish bulletin is far superior to watching the news. Posted by: Ace-Endorsed Author A.H. Lloyd at February 24, 2024 11:19 AM (llXky) 348

And this is one of those people who "trusted the science" and "trusted the doctors" who didn't have their best interests at heart. And if Trump does get on the ballot and we actually have an election we'll hear 24/7 screeching about how he rushed this through and it's all his fault and that he killed grandma and grandpa. Everyday I pray for accountability in this life for Fauci and the Pharma companies and the CDC, WHO, etc, but I'm not holding my breath. 314 If anyone didn't think the criminal class of illegals was coming your in for a surprise
Posted by: Skip at February 24, 2024 11:00 AM (fwDg9) All are criminals as their very first act upon entering the country was to simply stroll across the border. Even I have to be subject to the berating of CBP and I’m a damn citizen of this country. Posted by: Catch Thirty-Thr33 at February 24, 2024 11:22 AM (8sMut) 350
I want my next vehicle to be a Dodge Llama.
Posted by: andycanuck (2yu8s) at February 24, 2024 11:16 AM (2yu8s) It would never sell in south america because in Spanish "en llamas" means "on fire" or "engulfed in flames" Posted by: Kindltot at February 24, 2024 11:22 AM (D7oie) 351
On another note, please continue to pray for my friend, "P" I just learned that he had unhappy experiences as a youth in RC school-No, I don't think he was abused, just shamed. Then he went to college and later read Bart Ehrman and got away from his faith. The issue is also a very devout RC wife who works at a church. What a blessing it would be for her too if he returned and participated happily in the RCC. Thanks.

The state is both trying to crush Christianity while redefining Christianity in their image.
