Is Russia going to continue on into Poland or Romania once it conquers Ukraine?
This is taken as a given by the media, but seriously: When we end up with a Korea-style armistice along the current front lines, you think that Putin, and the people around Putin, will think: "Gosh, that worked great! On to Warsaw!" Even if Ukraine collapses militarily (which is an increasingly possible outcome), I very much doubt that Russia would have the appetite for a much bigger war with NATO. The attorney for the Rico defendant (Merchant is her name I think) must be making some progress in her questioning of Wade - he looks a lot less smug right now.
Sound is off so I can only see the moderately badly transcribed subtitles. It appears she is rolling out evidence of Wade and Willis relationship, his denial of same in court filings, and the state is trying to stop her from introducing evidence. I am not sure why the state has to defend this. But they are. Posted by: blaster at February 15, 2024 11:08 AM (xhfG9) 38
NATO may be feckless but Poland takes its obligations seriously. They don’t play, and given their recent history, why should they?
Besides, if we were serious about Russia/Ukraine, we’d look at Russia’s COG - oil. Don’t send a dime or a person to Ukraine - exploit our oil resources like mad, drive the price of oil down, on which Russia’s budget is based (not wheat, not nickel, not anything else - oil) and watch Russia cease its adventurism. Or, not even try. But this makes sense from countless angles so of course our government and elites don’t want to do it. Posted by: Catch Thirty-Thr33 at February 15, 2024 11:08 AM (cz3uf) 39

Tucker has some big problems. The tip-off to me was when he interviewed Kanye West and treated him like some sort of serious intellectual.
He didn't, though. Tucker's whole schtick with interviews is that he's the anti-Sean Hannity. He just lets the subject talk and you the viewer are assumed to be smart enough to decide what you think about what they're saying. Half of the media hysteria is specifically that he's not coming on after the interview and saying "Everything he just said is wrong. Slava Ukraini!" Anyway, Putin's comments that the KGB (and everyone else) knows Biden isn't really in charge are fun of course, but the real meat there was the part where Tucker just went randomly wandering around and discovered the Moscow subway is cleaner and safer than anything in the US, among other things. Regarding Tucker - I am a fan and have more or less tracked his political evolution with my own. I suspect this is due to our similar age and upbringings - western, libertarian leaning conservatism from a young age as a starting point. Tucker has not been shy about how things have changed for him over the past 10-ish years. While I do not share Tucker's opinion on Israel, my assessment is that he is in a "question everything" phase of political and intellectual reorientation. Much of what he (we) believed at one time, say 25 years ago, has turned out to be a lie, or worse, just plain wrong. While most of us do this privately or among friends and family, he is doing it incredibly publicly. So when Ace attacks him for "dishonesty", I have to wince, as I do not see "dishonesty" in his position. I see an absolute loss of trust in the various American institutions in which he (we) once believed, and in response a general casting about for a new political lodestar. It will be interesting to see where he lands. We have all evolved politically substantially in the past 10 years. In light of that, I should think some grace would be in order.

315 I think the Dem PTB have realized that Biden is not only going to lose, he's going to lose bigly, and that will have a disastrous impact on other Dem candidates. Do you really think they'd sacrifice their entire tickets nationwide to protect Biden and Harris?
Posted by: Archimedes at February 15, 2024 11:52 AM (CsUN+) ======== If they think that the election is loseable, I don't see how they feel like spending more than a year propping up Biden just to have him disappear and then replaced by a largely unknown (on the national stage) candidate will actually work in their favor. It'd be an attempt to replace Biden with "Generic Democrat", but the move, especially when combined with the fact that "generic Democrat" won't actually decry any of the administration's policies, doesn't seem like some kind of great electoral strategy. I still maintain that it's about patronage, they trust their election fortifications, and other factions simply want more direct control of the executive branch. FK jr. has publicly stated that the CIA was involved in his uncle's assassination.
If the CIA doesn't want people to believe that they were involved maybe they should have publicly demanded for Biden to release the files he is keeping hidden on the JFK assassination. For the record I do NOT think it was the CIA but considering what our current government is I don't blame people for making rational assumptions about the things it is doing and has done. In a stark prediction, the central banker warned that carbon price capping schemes and the higher costs of allegedly greener forms of energy could result in European energy prices being as much as five to eight times more expensive than in the United States where the shale gas revolution has mitigated global supply shocks in the energy market and looks to make America one of the top producers and exporters of energy for decades to come. Carlson is not atypical of white males, particularly fathers of draft age male children. We have a bipartisan establishment that has spent a good three to four decades in a campaign of attacking white males, while shipping the flower of our society to fight wars that have no significant impact on our income and opening our borders to all sorts of foreigners, including terrorists. We see it's effect in today's recruitment crisis in our military. Why would any of us not question any military adbenturism? NATO was created to keep the Soviets out, US in, and the Germans down. But today, the Soviets have been history for a quarter century. The Germans conquered Europe by using the E.U. The EU is pushing the creation of an Euro Army... The only remaining reason for NATO is to keep us engaged in their defense. This is a cucky loser of a proposition in which they get to dishonor their commitments and demand that we continue covering for them after the rationale for NATO has ceased to exist.
Russia is facing a demographic cliff, which is accelerated by combat fatalities in Ukraine. They will not be in any shape to be aggressive for a few decades. Europe has a bigger problem than Russia. Posted by: Augusto Perez at February 15, 2024 12:13 PM (8m+0K) 370

Thing is, its easier to focus on other people's problems than our own. As to Tucker, as someone else said--- ---looking about for what to believe---yeah. that's me. Putin looks like a good guy. He might not be. He might be. Biden is EVIL. Tucker is probably Controlled Opposition, but he says some useful stuff.
