I've been looking at those for a while, but haven't pulled the trigger yet (Ha Ha). S&W makes something similar, but theirs folds sideways, so you can fold it with an optic mounted. More expensive because it says S&W. You're right, it's a toy. I have a 16" AR that I can throw in the truck if I feel the need. Not as small as the Keltec or S&W, but small enough.

Interestingly, they base the "increase" in severe weather related to climate change on damage totals. Guess what? There is more in this world to break than there was in the past. I'd venture to say that it's about the same if not less severe from a weather standpoint. But, damages, obviously will increase reflective of what is there to be damaged.

However, I admit the possibility that a lot of seeming impossibly inexplicable chemical events could have randomly yet sequentially occurred over the immense period of billions of years. We can never know. This makes for fascinating speculation.

For Theresa, some avian Texas trivia - I'm only two hours east of you, but our birds are very different, and much more varied, than those in FW. It's because that 120 miles is enough to put us on the edge of a different migratory pathway - for example, in the winter months (like now) I have cardinals and robins in my yard and on my bird feeder every single morning. They'll head back north about March.
For bird watchers, it's really fun how many big hawks you can see this time of year hanging around open fields, looking for eats. They're generally heading to the Texas coast to spend the winter there, but quite a few of them stop off and stick around if the weather isn't too bad.

He would eviscerate their premise with an introductory paragraph. He would then start citing all of the relevant cases - off the top of his head. He would then be starting a 3rd-level analysis of the data he had just presented, when they would gavel him down to quit speaking and they could try the next question.
Of course, that was like watching the winner of the All-Star game home-run derby. He would just crush the next one too!

Yup. Chronic alcoholism. It never expressed itself while he was actively touring, but it started with a vengeance once he slowed down. He writes about his travails in his autobiography. That and his constant drumming took a toll on his body.
Frankly, I'd be surprised if he survives the year.

Levon Helm (The Band) gets my vote. But I'm biased. Drove from Tech to UVA to see them in college, bringing a cigarette pack full of joints. The audience was quite staid, boring even -- until I started passing around said joints. At one point, me and the girl I was dating started dancing in the aisle fairly close to the stage (the only ones to do that) because the music was just so 'get off your butt and move'. Levon Helm looked right at the two us while playing . . . and smiled. It felt like he was playing just for us. Weird but true.

When I’m traveling I love to go into a good gas station convenience store after filling up. They often have great foods I can’t get locally. Lee’s pork rinds, or Best Made peanut butter krispies, or Ethel’s Baking Co. anything.

Which raises a question. Did any seven-shot revolvers exist in the Old West? Perhaps as custom builds? I know there are 5-shot revolvers, and 9-shot in .22 caliber. If you built a .32 or .36 on a .44 frame, you might be able to fit a 7-round cylinder in there.

Well, I have not worked it out, but I would expect that you could fit 7 bores in .32 cal in a cylinder sized to fit a .44 frame, and wind up with as much metal surrounding each bore as the more powerful .44 would have. Speaking of late 19th Century black powder cartridges here. So perhaps something a custom gunsmith of the day could have made.

You're recalling the S&W model 3 (top-break) revolver, chambered in .44 Russian. S&W made many thousands of these on contract to sell to the late 1800s Russian Czar's Army.
And so, also sold much of the production into the 1870 American market, too. Along with the ammo.
They didn't handle as nimbly as the Colt Single Action Army, but they tended to be a bit more accurate, and a HELL OF A LOT FASTER, to reload. Given that all six simultaneously ejected, when the gun was broken open at the front, lower frame hinge.
Those guns did not "go to Russia" and return, just to be sold here. They were S&W selling off excess production, directly into the domestic market.

No doubt. But even into the 1950s, a "Custom" combat revolver was likely more like an early "Fitz Special", with it's bobbed hammer and cut-away trigger guard.
Not to much in the way of custom cylinders, which would also require different timing parts for the hand, star, pawl and bolt, in either the S&W or Colt designs.

Got a budget pre-planning meeting at ten today, just me and my boss. It will probably be productive. Unfortunately we have another planned for next week, all five of us in my office,, and we'll probably rehash a lot of today's material.
