The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition

Since the beginning of the Gaza war, American troops in Iraq and Syria have been attacked at least 100 times, with a grand total of four responses, including yesterdays "necessary and proportionate strikes."

Dozens of American servicemen have been injured, but the Biden junta is minimizing their injuries, claiming that until yesterday, all have returned to service. Never mind that some had traumatic brain injuries...the sort of injury with which NFL players are sidelined for weeks. And never mind that the only reason many more weren't injured and possibly killed was the backwardness of the attackers and their weapons.

It used to be that attacking American military bases was a big deal, and resulted in things called "wars." But the Biden junta and its handlers in Kalorama are too busy fellating the Iranians to manage much of a response. And make no mistake; these attacks are on orders from Iran.

US retaliates after 3 American service members injured by Kataib Hezbollah attack in Iraq

Three U.S. service members were injured in Iraq on Christmas Day when Kataib Hezbollah terrorists attacked Erbil Air Base, according to Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin.
Austin announced late on Monday night that American forces "conducted necessary and proportionate strikes on three facilities used by Kataib Hezbollah and affiliated groups in Iraq."
"These precision strikes are a response to a series of attacks against U.S. personnel in Iraq and Syria by Iranian-sponsored militias, including an attack by Iran-affiliated Kataib Hezbollah and affiliated groups on Erbil Air Base earlier today, and intended to disrupt and degrade capabilities of the Iran-aligned militia groups directly responsible," Austin said in a press release.

Well, I feel better now! There was a proportionate response! Probably a couple of warehouses were blown up, and maybe a night watchman was killed. That should send shivers of fear down the spines of every Jihadist in the Levant!

The obvious non-response to attacks on American servicemen doesn't go unnoticed. And the trivial and perfunctory "proportionate" response is even more emboldening. What the drooling Jew-hater in the White House is telling the world is that it is perfectly okay to try to kill Americans...in Gaza; on our military bases; and probably on American soil in the future. And Lloyd Austin, the dim-wit functionary raised to secretary level because of his melanin content is too stupid and too invested in "equity" and DEI to care much about defending our interests in the world, starting with our servicemen!

The only correct response would have been leveling wherever these attacks are coming from, and then warning Iran -- loudly and publicly -- that any more attacks from their proxies would result in a blockade of Iranian ports and the destruction of Iranian spy vessels. And if that doesn't work, then attacks on Iranian military bases within Iran.

Iran is a bully, and our response should have been to punch it in the nose after the first attack. All we have done is shown Iran that we are indeed a paper tiger...unwilling to protect our interests, and certainly unwilling to protect our allies. Hell, we have allowed the Houthi sand fleas to attack shipping without any significant response other than using expensive missiles to shoot down some inexpensive drones and missiles. Do we really need a multinational force to deal with a 3rd world militia? How about a nice and safe (for our servicemen) bombing campaign that lasts a few days and destroys all of their military infrastructure?

But that will never happen, because Biden, Austin, and their happy band of retards are not interested in anything other than partisan politics in service of their ultimate goal of rebuilding America in Marx's image.

Our country is diminished when savages can attack us at their leisure without fear of massive retaliation. Our allies can no longer rely on us, and our enemies know that we do not back up our words with actions.

But Trump said "pussy!"

No, that's only one correct response. There are others.

Another valid response would be to withdraw and state that the US security umbrella no longer extends to the Middle East or its intersecting trade routes, and that we are removing all military and diplomatic assets from the region.

The latter option would mark the end of the American empire and leave the Middle East open to conquest by other powers (Russia possibly, but likely not largely - China and India would likely make plays for it).

Deterrence is approaching zero. We had a serious decline in deterrence under Obama, and Trump was able to achieve a lot in that space - but it's whipsawing a lot and Biden has lost deterrence to an even greater degree than Obama did (though it isn't apples-to-apples).

Holding deterrence is fairly easy. Gaining it in the first place is extremely difficult and dangerous and it is usually preceded by victory in major war. I somewhat doubt American deterrence is going to make a comeback. It barely did after Obama, and Trump had it on a razor's edge. After the past couple of years, I think the party is probably over.

There will be no global hegemon. Global hegemony is hard and rare. We'll get regional hegemony and all of that goes with it - including an end to the existing trade and global money system. The world of "anything, from anywhere, at any time, at manageable cost" we've had since the 90s is going to end, and it's going to be quite a shock.

Ironically, the WEF is going to get what it is after: end of the superpower system and a rise of regional powers. They're not going to be happy with it, though, because it will deviate from their vision in a fairly important respect: those regional powers aren't going to answer to Davos.

Now that said, there is a lot that goes into an airstrike. The biggest concerns are target identity and the air defense threat.
What intel do we have on the target? Is the information current and accurate? Is the target mobile? If not, is what is being attacked the right enemy asset? Are we just "sending a message" or trying to do something meaningful vis-a-vis the guys on the ground?
What is the threat? Do they have SAMs and/or AAA and if so, what kind? What does the Strike Package need to bring for countering them? Best routes to take in and out?
Lots of work goes into this and I suspect the US had most of this information a long time ago. The hardest part is maintaining track on the targets.
Now with the multi-national task force falling apart, I guess it was time for Biden to show the world he means business.

Or something. When asymmetrical warfare hits here in a big way - and I agree that it looks likely - there will plenty of perpetrators argued for one way or another by plenty of people. Will it be Iran? Maybe. Perhaps even probably. But they won't be alone. There will be Iranian operations, false-flag operations by our own ruling class, independent operators doing whatever, opportunists after their own ends, etc.

The junta hasn't a clue how maritime shipping works. They shut down the offices within the Navy / Coast Guard that dealt with things like piracy, maritime security and operations that Trump setup. The US Navy is more concerned with pronouns than fighting even though they've dealt with several Houthi anti-ship attacks the fact remains several commercial vessels have been hit.

Europe has a vested interest in seeing the trade routes through the Red Sea open and vessels make the journey unmolested. The US is more concerned with the carbon footprint the guided missile destroyer has while shooting down Houthi missiles and drones.

That's a perfectly rational answer, and I think it's correct and that if you got the globalists drunk enough, they might even provide that explanation.

But it goes deeper than that. Saudi Arabia or even the Emirates would be equally valid in this logical framework, but they never ever consider it. It isn't rational, it's manic. Their obsession with Iran (and Brazil) transcends mere fascination or authoritarian-imperial preferences. They *need* Iran and Brazil to be what they envision Iran and Brazil to be. It - not the general condition of "I prefer tyrants and want to see America diminished" - seems to be central to their worldview.
