Biden Lets the Mask Slip, "Joking" That His Doctors Say He Has to Wear a Mask for 10 Days to Keep From Spreading Covid To Other People, But That He Doesn't Feel Like It

Yesterday Biden walked into a crowded White House event. He announced that "they say I have to wear the mask for ten days," but then he didn't wear it during his 10 minute speech. He also "joked," "Don't tell them I didn't wear it on the way in."

So are masks serious business or are they Facial Theater? Which is it, Stupid?

"Let me explain to the press - I've been tested again today. I'm clear across the board," Biden stated, mask in hand. "But they keep telling me, because this has to be 10 days or something, I've got to keep wearing it."

"But don't tell them I didn't have it on when I walked in," he also said.
He did not wear one for the entirety of his 10-minute speech.

And this is a different event than the previous instance of failing to wear a mask. He previously did not wear a mask when he put a medal on an 80-year-old Vietnam veteran, despite Biden having just been exposed to covid, despite coming within sniffing distance of the 80-year-old man, and despite 80-year-olds being one of the few demographics at serious risk due to covid.

Karine Jean-Pierre was questioned about this, and claimed that Biden would start wearing his mask like his Toddler Minders tell him to.

It was an absolutely incredible moment considering the fact that press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters Tuesday that Biden would start wearing masks indoors again after questions were raised over him not wearing one during a Medal of Honor ceremony as he pinned the medal on its 81-year-old recipient, Army Cpt. Larry Taylor, a Vietnam War veteran.

The entire justification for masks was that people could spread Covid while they were still asymptomatic and hadn't tested positive yet.

I was the third person in my household to catch Covid. I was symptomatic for three days before I tested positive. So even ignoring the now proven false premise that you can spread Covid when you're asymptomatic, you can be symptomatic and test negative.

Still like that. The girl I'm seeing had a job until very recently where she interacted with / worked for "the elite". Very wealthy people, including CEO's of major companies and things like that. She worked in their houses.

The families didn't wear masks, but as of a few weeks ago when she left that job, the staff / help / whatever were still required to wear masks when they went to these peoples places.

So the dad, mom, kids were all maskless, doing their thing, but the nanny, tutors, cooks, etc. were all wearing masks, leaving their shoes in the hallway, and forced to wear surgical gloves.

... It was never about COVID. It was about making sure the little people knew their place. The "elite" don't even want to have to see their faces.

As soon as the vaccines came out and it was clear they didn't stop transmission as promised, the goal posts shifted to "well, they would have worked against the alpha variant, but dammit, we're on delta now!"

It's well known in epidemiology, to the point that people outside of it like myself know, that as a virus circulates is also mutates to get better at spreading. To do this it has to trade something, which is usually it's lethality. We saw this with Covid-19 and the various strains, each outcompeting it's predecessors at spreading while becoming less lethal. So anything still circulating today should be fairly mild as far as symptoms go.

Recall, the first people to get the vaccine when it was approved were the control group of the original vaccine trials.

There was a bit of an issue with the very first nurse the FNM profiled for getting the clot shot.

She was obviously in bad shape after getting it and then disappeared from the media.

The FNM claimed she was fine and that the reason she wasn't making any more appearances was because she didn't want the attention. But...that's odd for someone that chose to be the first to get the shot and...make a bunch of media appearances isn't it?

Some internet sleuths looked her up and it appeared she was still alive but no longer working. There was some evidence she got a payout but IMO the evidence for that was weak tea (she bought a relatively expensive house after she appears to have stopped working).

TSA rules state that cpaps get extra scrutiny. I knew this going in. They swabbed it all over looking for toxins and explosive residue. As a general rule, I would expect that high-risk people might be vulnerable to LOTS of different diseases, not just COVID. If they are immuno-compromised against one coronavirus, they are probably susceptible to many different viruses.

One vaxx may or may not help out much for those people, especially if the vaxx causes a weakening of an already weak immune system.

Anyone who died with a positive covid test and/or "covid like symptoms" was counted as a covid death. So you go in to the hospital with stage 4 cancer, a broken hip from a fall, and severe pneumonia. You're clearly dying. Some time between entering the hospital and finally dying, you develop covid-like symptoms, or even catch covid in the hospital, and you die. Your death certificate lists COVID as one of the causes of death. It is now counted in the official covid death numbers. Multiply that by every death in the US since 2020.

How do we ascertain the actual real numbers from that? We can't.

I didn't get sick as a dog, but it was worse than a cold for me. It wiped me out the first night. I had full body aches for three days. I coughed a lot for a week and a half. I didn't feel 100% for about 18 days. I lost my sense of smell for YEARS. I'd guess my sense of smell is still only 75% or so.

I have been a hand-washing germaphobe since I was kid, a behavior mostly inculcated in me by my mother, who had been a nurse. I always understood that there are germs everywhere, but that hand-washing is a simple way to deal with most of them.

But I think a lot of people just didn't give much thought to germs until Covid came along. You know, the kind of people who don't wash their hands after they pee, or are careless handling raw meat. But then Covid shows up, and these people start freaking out. "OMG there are all these germs everywhere! We've got to protect ourselves! Reeeeee!" So they ganed the faith of the converted, and went too far in the other direction.

By the way, I credit my frequent handwashing with the fact that I seldom get sick.

Definitely some truth to that. I've always been a bit of a germophobe. Wash my hands a lot. Always had hand sanitizer in my car and my backpack.

When covid hit, I didn't change any of my habits. But a lot of the "normal" people I knew, who used to make fun of me for hand sanitizing after touching things in public were suddenly using lysol wipes on their mail. It's like they went from 2 pack a day smokers to the biggest anti cigarette crusaders on the planet in about 30 seconds flat.

I didn't lose my sense of taste. It never went away. It was just ... wrong. Some stuff that I like ordinarily was unpalatable to the point of making me want to vomit (like tomato juice, which I love, I couldn't get down at all). Other stuff was fine, it just tasted weird (like spicy foods).

Lasted for the three days of my illness, plus about two or three days more after I started feeling better. It was definitely the weirdest part of my COVID experience.

On average, flu shots (it's not a vax), are only about 40% effective, and last maybe 3 months. The delta is anywhere between 20-60% effectiveness. Never had a flu shot until we had kids. Stopped seven years ago after reading the data. YMMV.

On big reason I've been able to (mostly) adhere to a keto diet for the last two years is because COVID drastically altered my sense of smell and taste for some things. Pizza, starch, french fries, anything fried, pastries, and doughnuts all tasted terrible - like burnt plastic. But veggies, steak, chicken, fish, shellfish, eggs, cheese - completely normal. I'm actually kind of glad I got COVID. A fair trade for me.

It's interesting that I read 1984 and BNW at different stages of my growth. I read 1984 when I was very young, at a point when I didn't understand sex or see what all the fuss was about. So it didn't seem strange or optimistic that the Party would suppress sex. How hard could that be, I thought? It's kind of icky already.

I didn't get sick as a dog, but it was worse than a cold for me. It wiped me out the first night. I had full body aches for three days. I coughed a lot for a week and a half. I didn't feel 100% for about 18 days.

On average, flu shots (it's not a vax), are only about 40% effective, and last maybe 3 months. The delta is anywhere between 20-60% effectiveness. Never had a flu shot until we had kids. Stopped seven years ago after reading the data. YMMV.

Both times on day 2 I had very high fever (you know the kind where your teeth chatter but you're burning up) day 3 was some improvement, day 4, back to normal except taste and smell were reduced greatly. Eh, not really. Every year the flu vaccine is a new mix of what The Experts expected would work the best against the expected variants for that winter season.

Sometimes they guessed better than others; sometimes flu season was milder or worse than others.

"The flu" is really a cluster of related influenza viruses, and while you can target specific strains, you don't really know which strain to target.

She also had his back 100% of the time and would intervene - sometimes with a gun, sometimes with a wifely nag - when she needed to. There was never a romantic element to their relationship that I recall, but there *could* have been had the writers wanted to do so. It wouldn't have been shoehorned in. They had a really well-developed dynamic.

Of course not. Look at how much resistance there is to cleaning up those voter rolls. There's also no way that they get the voter percentage totals that they do on voting day.
