Everything in this painting is so active. The wind blows the wheat and the trees and you can see them sway. But the brush strokes mimic the movement of the images like they are also blown by the wind. The texture of the brush strokes give the flat painting dimensionality. This painting is so alive.

Special Counsel Robert Hur, appointed Thursday by Attorney General Merrick Garland to probe President Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified information, was among those at the Justice Department who had knowledge about the Russia hoax perpetrated on former President Donald Trump.
According to a Justice Department document, Hur is a former DOJ official “who handled, participated in, or have personal knowledge of the FBI’s relationship and communications with” Christopher Steele, who authored the infamous dossier that paved the way for the Russia hoax. There was a Superboy story in the DC comics many years ago in which Superboy turns a field of corn into popcorn with his heat vision. I don't know why he did it; I doubt it would really work with ordinary corn; and I'm sure the writers never addressed the issue of who was going to pay the farmer back for his ruined crop. But ya gotta admit there was some imagination there.

The department voted to oust Shakespeare several years ago “in order to represent a more diverse range of writers,” reported the Daily Pennsylvanian, the student newspaper of the university. "Gardner's Art Through the Ages" is designed for the student. It's very easy to read, provides excellent examples of periods and styles, and covers a vast array of regions, eras, and cultures. It's a great beginner's text. Don't skip the introduction either. That explains how to look at art and read it. When I talk about the elements used in an artwork, that is the vocab I use. If you're interested in art and can pick one up cheap, do it. New editions are very expensive (college textbook expensive). Posted by: Kris at January 13, 2023 10:11 AM (OyyDO) 201

The most prominent and clear example (among many candidates) was the Trudeau announcement that there was no business case to send Canadian LNG to Germany and that Canada would help their desperate Teutonic friend by supplying, ta da, green hydrogen. (Shortly after, Germany signed an LNG supply deal with Mexico, a country that doesn’t even have enough gas to export, but is wily enough to channel US/Canadian natural gas onto ships via Mexican ports and pipelines)

It's a great beginner's text. Don't skip the introduction either. That explains how to look at art and read it. When I talk about the elements used in an artwork, that is the vocab I use. I like this painting, it's peaceful. Also a good representation of the Provencal countryside. VanGogh was a true innovator. He can't really be called an impressionist because the hues he uses for the trees and vegetation pretty much match the local color of those elements.

Posted by: humphreyrobot at January 13, 2023 10:13 AM (upEnu) I'd say they treat users/consumers like an enemy. Customers denotes a paying transaction. The only customers of Big Tech are advertisers. Users/consumers are not usually the direct customers. Similar can be said, for the most part, about professional sports. Ticket sales and premium seat licenses aside (the bulk of the revenue that comes directly from fans), most revenue comes in the form of media rights and direct advertising (i.e. Little Caesars paying to be the "official" pizza of the NFL). Van Gogh is popular in my family so we took everyone to Auvers-sur-Oise (suburban Paris) once upon a time for a couple of days of tromping around the area where Van Gogh spent his final weeks. As everyone probably knows, he painted constantly while in Auvers, often producing a painting or more every day. Some German doctor in the Weimar years implanted female reproductive organs into one of the first trannies. Straight up killed him too. I have no doubt that the data will show that the vaccine causes cardiac issues, but lots of people died of heart disease etc. before the vaccine.
Posted by: CharlieBrown'sDildo at January 13, 2023 10:13 AM (XIJ/X) If the vaccine can cause cardiac issues, it can also enhance pre-existing ones. == anecdote doesn't equal data, until you have enough of them . . . wife's cousin 18 year old fit high school athlete - blood clots in both legs - nearly died last year. wife's other cousin mid 40's male, running on treadmill at YMCA - has horner's sign (loss of vision one eye) stops running, goes home. Calls wife, while on phone loses use of arm, speak problems - she calls 911. Squad takes him to Hospital, in ER he also has a heart attack. Still in the ICU. We have a Zoom staff meeting coming up in about 10 minutes, so I'll have to bug out in a bit. One of my co-workers has assembled a list of possible guest speakers for a lecture we sponsor once a year. I'm really tempted to suggest Victor Davis Hanson (who, I ask, could object to a tenured prof. of military history?) except it may get me goggle-eyed stares of horror, and I don't care in the slightest who they invite.
Mostly the latter. == I have openings on my schedule. A modest travel stipend and accommodations are all I require. Posted by: Archbishop Vigano at January 13, 2023 11:06 AM (as2lB) 401
