The Morning Report — 12/7/22

1941-1981.jpg

Good morning, kids. To paraphrase America's sweetheart, Ilhan "Bro-Fo"/Nur/Burqawitz/Ikeelyou" Omar, 81 years ago today, some people did some things in Hawaii. If anyone of a generation younger than that of Baby Boomer understands the meaning of the phrase "Remember Pearl Harbor," it would be a miracle. Unless of course they were taught in school that we deserved it. I don't have my dog-eared copy of Ibram X. Krement's Jive Kampf handy to confirm that, but I'm sure it's in there, under "battleship privilege."

In any case, is anyone really surprised by the outcome in Georgia? I suppose I can be positive insofar as the nation has devolved only to the point where the regime needs to rig an election just enough so that its preferred candidate can overcome a vote deficit to appear to eke out the win. We're not at the point where only one party involved in the race and the preferred candidate gets 99% of the vote with nearly 100% voter turnout. Not yet anyway, so be of good cheer. In all seriousness, the alarming thing here, of course is that the enemy has enough of a following that it is able to engineer these "victories" in the first place, and that speaks to a whole other level of societal dissolution hinted at in my snark about Pearl Harbor, which cannot be solved overnight, if it will be solved at all.

On our post-election post-mortem podcast episode, friend, colleague and election/polling guru extraordinaire Dave in Fla urged us not to be dispirited as that is a key weapon that the enemy uses to suppress us. I'm not dispirited so much as I am enraged. More than that, I'm frustrated since every avenue open to me as an individual and citizen has now been closed. In any case, considering that we are ruled by what is an unconstitutional, unelected, titanic bureaucracy that issues decrees that have the force of law, what real purpose do elections serve, other than to preserve an illusion of a two-party system, the will of the people, regular order, etc. etc.?

If the system itself has been so corrupted as to make ballot harvesting, ballot dumping, mass unverified mail-in voting, no ID requirement and so on legal, at least to the extent that when actual fraud occurs that it goes unpunished, then we no longer have a nation of laws but of men, as our Founders had warned and tried as best they could to prevent. It's corruption from top to bottom. Here are just two examples of how, even if Walker did manage the win, along with all the other candidates that should have given us 54-55 Senate seats and upwards of 520 in the House or more, it wouldn't really have made a difference. First . . .

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) held a private event Thursday with a panelist that pushed to abolish the agency, along with others against immigration detention that strongly criticized immigration enforcement during the meeting, according to an internal document and a source with knowledge of what occurred in the meeting who spoke with the Daily Caller News Foundation.

ICE used the event “to share ideas and inform future concepts” on the “Alternatives to Detention” program, which the agency implemented in 2004 to monitor illegal immigrants released into the country with trackers like ankle bracelets and cell phones as they await court proceedings. During the discussion, the activists criticized the monitoring of illegal immigrants, the source with knowledge, who was not authorized to speak publicly, told the DCNF. . .

. . . The Biden [junta] is increasingly aligning itself with anti-ICE groups, Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), a conservative immigration reform group, Communications and Government Relations Director RJ Hauman told the DCNF.

“At this point it is not surprising that ICE would have someone like this influencing policy — the current administration is trying to abolish it from within. The end goal for them isn’t only pivoting away from traditional detention and a handful of effective alternatives, but to release illegal aliens without any tracking or monitoring at all,” Hauman said.

So, the agency tasked with protecting our borders, national sovereignty and indeed the citizenry from a mass criminal invasion (the invasion itself as a criminal act, if not an act of war, not necessarily but for sure actual criminals among the migrant hordes) has taken it upon itself to de facto abolish itself. For sure, this is approved by if not initiated at the highest levels of the executive branch of our government. Oval Office or Kalorama; either/or at this point. Would this be happening if Trump let alone any other Republican were president? Let us assume that either of those actually is allowed to win the 2024 election and that they institute any sane, rational and no doubt wildly popular directives to seal the border, cut off money for illegals both here and just across the Rio Grande and, orgasmic dream, ramp up mass deportations of everyone here illegally. Do you think that anyone in that agency would do as ordered or would there be mass insubordination?

Now, in another part of the swamp, we have this madness:

If you put money into a 401(k), beware. Until now, the law always required fund managers entrusted with your savings to invest the money where it’s expected to get the top profit for you. Period. But late last month, Biden’s Labor Department announced a rule change that goes into effect at the end of January. It will allow fund managers to invest your money in the stocks of companies that favor left-wing policies, even if they earn a lower return.

It’s legalized theft. The future earnings on your retirement nest egg are being sacrificed to advance a woke agenda.

A lower return means you’ll have to work more years before retiring or start putting more into your 401(k) — or settle for a lesser standard of living in the final years of your life.

Biden’s rule paves the way for your 401(k) savings to be put into what are called ESG funds. But you can stop it from happening if you’re vigilant.

Biden’s doing an end run around democracy, trying to change corporate America without having to pass laws in Congress. Companies need investment capital. The more 401(k) money is controlled by ESG funds, the more pressure can be put on companies to adopt the ESG agenda — climate change, diversity and unionization — whether they like it or not. Biden’s buddies on Wall Street will do the financial arm-twisting.

Democrats invented ballot harvesting. Now they’re on to 401(k) harvesting.

Betsy McCaughey just nailed it right there. But there's a hell of a lot more to it than just propping up scams and schemes that would never in a billion years have a chance of success, legislatively or in the free market. The theft of your retirement money and effectively putting the regime in control of it will, "put y'all back in chains!" as it were. Well, not "back" since you weren't in them in the first place. And that's the problem, at least in their eyes. Social Security is all but bankrupt. 401(k)s represent the ability of individual citizens to control their own financial security via the free enterprise system. It's proven wildly popular, profitable and, here's something for you Lefty assholes out there, "sustainable!" Incredibly so. Social Security? If you want to be charitable, you could call it a Ponzi scheme but that would be an insult to Charles Ponzi. At least the money he made wasn't necessarily "lost."

On another front, and for the moment positive news, this attempt to prop up government censorship via this JCPA garbage has been derailed. Psaki-psircling back for a moment, newspapers and other traditional media outlets were going the way of the dodo not only because of the rise of the internet as an alternate carrier of news and information, but as the outlet for messages and news that went around the filter of government approved/culturally approved censors and arbiters of the narrative.

Why do you think they want to destroy Elon Musk and Twitter? It's all about control. So, does what happened in Georgia at the end of the day really make a difference? If it gets us to a point where we take to the streets and Atlas shrugs, then I'm down for the struggle.

UPDATE: I wanted to state something but it took commenter Lady In Black to jar it loose via this exchange:

Did anybody here seriously spend one moment thinking Walker had a chance? I'm done with that game. It can't be won anymore. I simply have lost all caring and hoping for an America that is dead and not coming back. The left is "winning" at every turn. I find no reason to believe it will change. I can thank the GOP in part for the end of America. We have no savior that is coming that can overcome their treachery, cheating, lies and totalitarianism. Harsh truth.

My response:

You have just reached the first plateau my dear. The sooner we free our minds from these illusions the better prepared we'll be for the battle ahead.

More and more people no longer trust government, the media and now elections. It is going to reach critical mass, especially when, not if, the entire economy crashes.

And that's really a good thing, or at least a necessary thing, despite what we are going to have to endure to at least have a chance to come out the other end with a shot at national renewal.

    ABOVE THE FOLD, BREAKING, NOTEWORTHY

  • "This is not to suggest that Rainey or Fields is involved in a plot to destroy the power stations. But it points to slovenly police work by local and county officials that is probably hampering the FBI’s investigation into who carried out the attack."

If you put money into a 401(k), beware . . . Biden’s Labor Department . . . will allow fund managers to invest your money in the stocks of companies that favor left-wing policies, even if they earn a lower return. It’s legalized theft. The future earnings on your retirement nest egg are being sacrificed to advance a woke agenda."

I always figured they'd do it with a bait and switch tactic - like trading you one for one with some kind of government issued certificate that would only be worth whatever they said it was worth, if and when they allowed you to actually cash it in.

This is more subtle, and surprising. Because they typically don't do subtle all that well.

49 I mentioned this yesterday. Oregon now has 9 counties that have voted to leave Oregon and join Idaho. Why isn't this something that could be worked on nationwide and fast tracked to reality? It could represent the "national divorce" many on here have talked about.
If Ohio absorbed some of Michigan, Pennsylvania absorb NY, parts of Georgia absorbed by surrounding red states essentially minimizing the impact of these Red states with massive Blue cities that swing elections.
Yeah, I don't have the details worked out, I'm a dumb drywaller, but voting is not getting us out of this mess.

53 The case before the Supreme Court, 303 Creative LLC v. Elenis, pits two sets of rights that have regularly clashed since the court legalized same-sex marriage in Obergefell v. Hodges in 2015. Do homosexual couples have the right not to be discriminated against by commercial actors, in this case wedding vendors, or do wedding vendors of Christian allegiance have the right to follow their beliefs in denying same-sex couples their artistic services?

2 rights really poor writing here! There are no right to be discriminated against. Yes, civil rights have been moved toward business but there is not one business out there that has not FIRED at customer.
Very different from allowing people to think, worship, and speak.

54 It's a blitzkrieg on rule of law, election integrity, the First Amendment, and every conception and presumption of liberty and tradition we've known. For every little skirmish line our outnumbered resistance rushes to fortify, five more open up. For every small victory over one issue, we suffer a major loss on three others. And it appears that no cavalry is being mustered in our defense. Indeed, our alleged senior command is wining and dining with the enemy, or rather scavenging for the scraps thrown to them from the banquet tables.

For reducing his taxes, the "jury" (which has no idea what the charge means) somehow convicted his employer, the Trump Organization. No one suggested any tax wrong-doing by Trump or Trump executives, other than this one man.

The penalty is apparently going to be a fine, ranging from zero to $1.6 million.

But Philly wants their freebies, and unlimited abortion and any candidate for state position with an (R) behind their name threatens that.

94 The ESG stuff is really a great example of the insane treachery of our government. Corporate strength is determined based on fairly hard measures - what are your revenues, what are your expenses, what is your final profit, what is your blended interest rate, what is your asset value, etc. ESG is none of that. ESG is easily manipulated. It's a synthetic value derived from other synthetic values - and it has nothing to do with business health or profitability.

But now it will be considered along with real measures for fund managers to spend your money on companies. I *almost* want it to happen, because a future change would be catastrophic. The fund managers move tons of customer money into ESG bullshit, then the next president eliminates the rule and suddenly all that money has to get pulled out, crashing the entire ESG sector.

Except that would never happen, which is why it's only "almost."

We have a similar situation in Michigan. Most of the state is red, but the large cities drag us blue. The unfortunate reality is that a separation is impossible. In Michigan, in the cities, there are frequent protests saying " water is a right and should be free", protests about needing assistance for heat and food, and protests about being unable to pay taxes. In short, without the red rural population, the state could not afford the cities!

The ESG investments have been increasing but the value decreasing. Given the inefficiency of solar and wind energy as electrical grids start collapsing this winter you will see the "suddenly".

145 I seriously doubt there will be a national divorce or some sort of carving up of the US into "red" and "blue" areas. The simple fact that FedGov relies on all the states to supply revenue will keep that from happening.

Yeah, it's amazing. I'm in SC too and just looked at the SC Health Dept's website dashboard on vaccine figures. The % of all residents eligible that have had 1 shot is just shy of 70%. That drops 10% when the figures show "completed" vax series, not including boosters.

Strangely, the booster figures aren't even listed. Or if they are, I can't find them.

Within a couple of weeks the lunatic rolled back her mandate because the restaurant businesses told her they weren't going to survive. Really? With only 10% of the customers banned? In a couple of weeks?

Folks still refuse to believe it, and I can't prove it - but to me, the circumstantial evidence time and again is crystal clear. None. There. That was easy. Ships on the bottom tend to be beneficial, which is why they semi-routinely scuttle them in specific places to make artificial reefs. Any ecological damage happens during the sinking, when all those delicious hydrocarbons flood out into the sea.

Which should give people pause about oil spills in warm water. They aren't great by any means, but they're not some unrecoverable disaster. The amount of oil spilled into the oceans and seas during WWII is astonishing. Oilers were major naval targets and dumped lots of oil into the water, as did every ship sinking.

Also, thousands of people signed a petition against the ultra left School Board Superintendent in another township. He supported this tranny abomination and having a grag queen at school.

Posted by: Ordinary American at December 07, 2022 08:44 AM (H8QX8)

221 Been thinking about the problems we face in elections, getting people we want elected. I'm purposely not discussing other options like revolution.

The problem is money. You need it to win. Ballot harvesting, operations, and advertising require a lot of money, even if you have competent people working for you.

Democrats have lots of wealthy people donating into a dispersed, yet effective network. Republicans have some deep pocketed individuals who want things the base doesn't want, hence the inevitable sellout after every election.

What is needed is a way for small dollar Republican base to donate to candidates they want and make sure competent people are working the campaigns. The consultants that only run ineffective TV ads where they can pocket half the money need to be cut out of the system.

Until Walker can match Warnock (or Masters can match Kelly) dollar for dollar in campaign effective spending, there is no way that WE can win.

Until then we are either going to get Democrats or establishment Republicans.

Its a good reply. The thing is, rigging a game runs counter to Republican DNA. Its the culture of losing with dignity.

Its a shitty decision, granted. Every Republican loss is a Democratic gain. Yet, every Republican loss gets that much closer to the collapse of the party, which I think is vital for any real reform to ever occur short of complete national collapse.

It's agenda-pushing, at all times. The best example of this was the 2006 winner.

In 2006, the Democrats swept the Congress, and do so pretty comfortably. In the euphoria of the Democrat win, the entire press complex had a field day of celebration. Time Magazine participated in that when they chose the "Person of the Year." That year, the cover contained a reflective rectangle that acted as a poor mirror, because they person of the year was YOU. You, the loyal mainstream press consumer, delivered the Congress to the Party of Righteousness and thus YOU are the real MVP!

I've been tempted to put "Time Magazine's 2006 "Person of the Year" winner" on my resume, just to see if anyone's actually reading the damn thing.

We can win with a non-GOPe candidate...that candidate just can't be Trump, just like it can't be Palin - too much baggage for R LIV voters and too much rallying for D LIV voters...we need all R voters, so we can't give that huge section away...

It's not fair they have the baggage, but they do...

It works like this, nationwide:

Democrat Clown Candidates always win.
Republican Clown Candidates always lose.

There's a lesson there if anyone on the non-Dem side is paying attention. In 2024, if Trump's picks for Senate and other statewide offices get the nomination and run in the November election, it will be another election cycle down the drain. However, The Cheat may make this a moot point.

376 Ronna McDaniel is a mediocrity at a time when we need fighting generals.

But Lee Zeldin is also no solution and I think vastly overrated. Because he almost won the media's saying: "Wow what a great campaign he ran to come so close in Bluest of Blue New York!" The real lesson is that Kathy Hochul was an incredibly weak candidate, who also ran an idiotic campaign and relied 100% on entrenched cronies and the Democrat machine. New York, once a 50-50 kind of state now certainly leans left but (overall/statewide) can be swung based on the quality of the candidate and issues of the day.

Zeldin has the charisma of wet toast and ran almost exclusively on "corrupt Kathy!" (in terms of media campaign). The real lesson is that an actually talented candidate (unlike Zeldin) with a more America-first oriented GOP state organization (which we don't have, but could build) would almost certainly have beaten Hochul. I like and respect Zeldin as a person and he made a game effort; but he's not the future of anything IMO.

377 Georgia has about 10 million people. Atlanta has about half a million. Pennsylvania has about 13 million people. Philly has about 1.5 million.

5-10% of the population can only drown out the rest of the state when the margin in the rest of the state was less than 5-10% to begin with. Which isn't exactly a crushing electoral mandate. The problem isn't demographics. Maybe the left wins, maybe they don't. The problem is we don't actually know who is voting for whom because the farcical stage dramas that elections have devolved into are simply not elections anymore. They're managed and produced reality TV shows. Politicking With The Stars.

A guy on Dallas radio that was supposedly a 'guy in the industry for years' told a story about how The Go-Go's got started. When they were still playing small venues and miniscule gigs, after each show was over, the line would form back stage and each chick sucked off everyone from the promoter to the stage hands to the security.

I'm sure they said the same thing when their big record deal was inked.

||An estimated 50 men and women are alleged to have been part of the group, said to have plotted to overthrow the republic and replace it with a new state modelled on the Germany of 1871 – an empire called the Second Reich.

“We don’t yet have a name for this group,” said a spokeswoman for the federal prosecutor’s office. The interior minister said it was apparently made up of an organisation “council” and a military arm.

Wednesday’s dawn raids are being described as one of the biggest anti-extremism operations in modern German history. Three thousand officers took part in 150 operations in 11 of Germany’s 16 states, with two people arrested in Austria and Italy.

Almost half of arrests took place in southern states of Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.||

392 Remembering Pearl Harbor. Nice video. One of the problems with getting stories out of those old vets is that so many of them just don't want to remember their experiences, much less talk about them. My uncle is a case in point, as a USAAC C-47 and Waco glider pilot, he made Market Garden and Varsity drops. He had nightmares for 30 years and as a high school kid I would ask questions he would ignore, until he got angry and I had to stop.

398 IMO, the best argument for Youngkin was DaveInFla's post yesterday on the electoral expectations for a GOP candidate, if anyone still cares about a GOP President.

They start with a realistic expectation for 230 votes. Virginia is one of the few states available that a candidate absolutely needs to win, and Youngkin has shown he can win it. Georgia is another such state, I think, and Kemp's success shows a GOPe guy can win there. Nevada becomes the focus after that.

So it is possible to win in 2024, just not super-likely.

401 There's no evidence of that. DeSantis barely won FL the first time, and only won decisively the second time because he had four years to clean up voting in the state, and he was facing a non-entity in Charlie Crist.
Posted by: Colorado Alex in Exile at December 07, 2022 09:08 AM (wmDcS

Inaccurate, to say the least. DeSantis won easily because he has done a great job as governor. He didn’t gain 18 points from 2018 due to cleaning up the voter roles. 2018 was a tough year for Republicans to win, even in Florida. Rick Scott won by less than DeSantis did.
