Kevin McCarthy doesn't have the votes to become speaker:

Chuck Callesto
@ChuckCallesto

BREAKING REPORT: There are Currently 20 Firm 'NO' VOTES on House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy Becoming Speaker...

They put out stories that that means a Democrat or "moderate" might win. Possibly. But I've heard this is a scare tactic put out by McCarthy himself to pressure the Freedom Caucus into voting for him -- the Freedom Caucus wants to extract concessions from him, and McCarthy doesn't want to concede them. So he puts out word that there'll be a Democrat speaker unless the Freedom Caucus votes for him without having to grant them the concessions they demand.

F**k him. If the Freedom Caucus doesn't get its concessions, then I don't care if there's a Republican speaker at all.

McCarthy wants to keep the power to ram through the Establishment/moderate legislation worked out in back rooms and blocking any conservatives from offering alternatives. Again, f*** him.

I'm tired of Potemkin "Democracy," where "democracy" is scripted by (c*ck) writers in the back room and then play acted on the stage.

The RNC has put together a panel of outside advisors to help it figure out what went wrong in the midterms.

The committee, which will be composed of RNC members, should have its findings in the first half of 2023, Politico reported. Mississippi RNC committeeman Henry Barbour and California committeewoman Harmeet Dhillon will lead the review, expected to begin after the Dec. 6th Georgia senate runoff.

A separate "Republican Party Advisory Council" will be formed to bring new voices into the party to help improve minority and suburban female outreach, Politico reported.

Members of the council will include former Trump White House adviser Kellyanne Conway, Family Research Council President Tony Perkins, Alabama Sen.-elect Katie Britt, Texas Rep.-elect Monica De La Cruz, Michigan Rep.-elect John James and former Arizona senate candidate Blake Masters, according to Politico.

The article notes that Lee Zeldin, who made a creditable but failed bid to oust Kathy Hochul as governess of New York, is considering a run against Rona McDaniels to head the RNC.

Actress Chloe Grace "Hitgirl" Moretz: When I was a teenager, I felt "infantilized" by the older adult mature men who were telling me what to do on set.

Wow, what a surprise. Older men who knew what they were doing told a teenager who didn't know what she was doing, and the teenager resented it and thought that at the ripe age of 15 she already knew it all.

The sad thing is that she still feels this way at 25, when she should be an adult.

But no, she's still just the same stupid sullen teenager who knows everything.

Chloe Grace Moretz has revealed she felt 'infantilised' by 'older men' in the film industry when she was a teen actress.

The Suspiria star, 25, has been acting on screen since the age of seven and had been working for nearly a decade when she got the lead role in Carrie at 14.

Speaking on the Reign with Josh Smith podcast, Chloe told how she felt she got 'pushback' from older men anytime she had an idea and would be 'shot down'.

...

'The majority of it was older men for sure who would infantilise me. If I had real things to bring to the table, a lot of the time it would get shot down.'

Chloe added that she felt there was often a 'power struggle' on set as she was the lead in the film but was still a teenager.

I'm a little "plugged in" to Hollywood, and from what I hear, what producers and directors really love is when actors come to them with "new ideas." They just love that. Actors always have such great ideas. That's why they became actors, because they're such great writers and directors and cinematographers. They especially love these great new ideas when they're proposed on the day of the shoot when the lighting's already set up and tens of thousands of dollars are burning per fifteen minutes.

They especially love these great ideas from 14-year-olds, who obviously are filled with wisdom and Lived Experience.

Trash person Meghan Markle has posted her 12th and final podcast episode. She was paid $18 million for this tiny amount of effort.

Meghan Markle today revealed she was a 'huge fan' of the Real Housewives TV series and was starstruck when she twice spoke to its creator Andy Cohen, who has no memory of meeting her.

The embarrassing moment emerged as the former Suits star released the final episode of her Archetypes podcast featuring male guests for the first time after Prince Harry 'suggested' it.

...

And in an awkward start to the episode, called 'Man-ifesting a Cultural Shift', Meghan says she has met Mr Cohen on several occasions when she in Suits. But it became clear he had forgotten when he said 'nice to meet you' at the beginning of the interview.

...

At the start of the show Meghan admitted that her British husband said she should speak to men on the show, currently 29 in the Spotify charts, to 'shift the gender debate'.

The Duchess of Sussex spoke to host of The Daily Show Trevor Noah, movie director Judd Apatow and Mr Cohen for their take on 'the labels and tropes that try to hold women back'.

...

She said: 'Now, if you've been listening to the past eleven episodes, you may have noticed that you haven't heard many men's voices, in fact, until now outside of a quick pop, in, from my husband, in the first episode, this show has featured exclusively women's voices.

'It was important to us that women have a space to share their authentic and complicated complex and dynamic experiences to be heard. And to be understood.

There's no quote, but the Daily Mail says that she also spoke to Trevor Noah about... women's periods, so, you know. Dynamite podcasting right there.

Here's how she signed off her 12-podcasts-for-$18-million deal: Whining about being oppressed.

Reading a quote by Greek poet Dinos Christianopoulos, she said: 'What didn't you do to bury me? But you forgot that I was a seed.'

Some on social media pondered if this was a pointed remark about Megxit.

She concluded by saying: 'I feel seen, I had never considered that in using my voice, that I would feel seen, but I do.

Justin Trudeau appeared on RuPaul's Canadian drag race spin-off. He does like cross-dressing, though usually of the racial variety.

Trudeau told the drag queens it had been "an incredible pleasure to be part of fighting the good fight on the right side" after the show's host congratulated him for becoming the first Canadian leader to participate in a Pride parade and being "such an ally" in a clip of his appearance shared on social media.

"Can we move beyond 'tolerate' and start embracing, and loving, and accepting, and learning from, and being challenged by, that's how you build a resilient society, that's what we're trying to do in Canada, and we've got a lot of work still to do," the 50-year-old rambled incoherently, while wildly gesticulating with his hands.

As mentioned below: As Apple attempts to censor speech in the US -- probably in collusion with the US government -- they're helping the Chinese government stop protesters from speaking securely. They crippled a feature that allowed protesters to talk to each other without being tracked by the government:

Also, Apple changed their iOS Air Drop options so protesters can no longer pass each other information through spontaneous, direct connection wifi. This was one of the main methods of electronic communication the protesters were using. American companies are assisting the CCP's crackdown on protestors.

Notice how the press does not analysis of how widespread something is or how likely to pass something is when there is just something "objectionable" on the "conservative" side of politics.

They are always telling conservatives to calm down about what conservatives might be a little too worried about, but it's about purity of message when it's "the right".

Allow me to translate into English: "The RNC has hired a number of their cronies using your stupid donor dollars, to spread your hard-earned nickel around DC, and then explain to you peasants why the GOP should do whatever the Democrats demand forever.

Then, those cronies will bring them some trafficked jailbait ass and cocaine, and surreptitiously photograph the after-party to make sure those puling con-men stay down on the farm where they belong."

Posted by: buzzion at November 29, 2022 06:34 PM (aRLgQ)

99 The only thing promising is that the list provided (not sure if that is committee or something else) is a list of people who do in fact know what is going on and why the Democrats keep winning.

So for once the post mortem might be correct, instead of the stupid crap they came up with after 2006.

However, the RNC is in the business of making money for consultants, not winning elections. Some of the state parties are in in the business of winning, but the national party is not.

So I will be watching from the outside to see if people in the GOPe can just sweep all of this under the rug or if the state chairs (who vote for the RNC head) have had enough.

Small problem is that some of the state GOP apparatus, Arizona and Alaska are prime examples, are in league with the Democrats to help the Democrats win. Tough to win when you have to fight both the other party and your own party to win an election. Blake Masters knows this pretty well, so his involvement is interesting.

That after all, is why they had to "fortify" their ballot harvesting and all the other illegal shit the last few cycles especially. The palpable panic and other key tells shows this clearly - the rhetoric and invective gets ratcheted up in the media every time the internal polling is tabulated.

"We're all Keynsians now" to "We're all worse than Hitler now" means NOBODY actually votes for these clowns other than whacked out cat ladies and a few stubborn lunatics in say, Minnesota, or perhaps Massachusetts.

153 "The RNC has put together a panel of outside advisors to help it figure out what went wrong in the midterms."

From the Senate Leadership: No platform; mostly crickets; sabotage within.

From the House Leadership: An unfocused, 100+ point plan that should have been narrowed to five or less Big Issues.

The GOPe "failed". That it failed (well, underperformed) given the Democrats' platform and proven malice against America amid national collapse in significant arenas is damning.

It's either that or voter/election corruption is now so ingrained that the GOP cannot/will not be a National power.

157 Not sure when it will be confirmed, but it is looking like the AZ GOP has documented more incidents of voter disenfranchisement than the 17,000 vote margin.

I'm curious to see how the AZ courts are going to find a way to sweep this under the rug when you have an open/shut case of election law violation that exceeds the margin of victory.

Going to be very hard to ignore it in the Abe Hamdeah case, since he is down only 500 votes. Strategically, the McCain camp may have made a mistake not letting Abe win that race. That could end up being the camel's nose in the tent.

But the McCain's own all the judges, so odds are poor that anything happens in this race.

It also will suppress the Walker vote. So for McConnell, it is win-win.

No, you fool, tolerating and embracing pedophiles, perverts, adulterers, sodomites and other enemies of the Family is corrosive to building a resilient society.

Confiscating people's money, destroying their means of production, inflating the currency and starving them of both food and energy is how you foment revolutions.

239 Chloe needs to realize it's not a female thing, it's an age thing and a D-Bag thing. I look a good deal younger than I am, and I'm not very tall, which leads to many people, who are probably younger than me, taking down to me as if I'm 20 years younger than them. But then you have people who are 20+ years older than you who treat you with complete respect and if you were an equal.

Feminism has taught these women (just like race hustlers have taught minorities) that any slight against you is purely based on your race or sex, when it has little to do with you and more to do with that person just being an asshole to anyone they feel they can impose themself on.

One thing I find amazing is the fairly ho-hum perspective of so many, who after the last 6 years, still seem to think it's some kind of tweaking of the micro-targeting of "suburban women" or "minorities" that's missing. And not having a Trumpian political profile (political integrity, emphasis on actually important things), that brings in new voters, flips TX Dem counties, etc.

Of course the Dems don't seem to need to motivate voters, both because their base is robotic and institutionally-enabled, and the lack of election integrity, where needed.

If Covid taught us anything, it is that any rights we think exist can be arbitrarily ended.

Given the USSC invented a constitutional right of gay marriage, you have to wonder what the purpose of the legislation is, and then you realize: you in fact will bake the cake. Again, this shit was two-fold: to ram more tyranny down our throats, and to suppress the Walker vote. If people don't get what the purpose of the GOP is at this point, I don't really know what to say or write.

Look for just enough GOP senators to hop on legislation to outlaw hate speech when the opportunity presents.

303 I've noted many times before Kevin's classic stunt in 2018 - a border press conference about mass illegal migration and border security. In October. After his party had done bupkis to help the only president in decades who was trying to begin to repair the disaster.

The depth of cynicism, and irresponsibility - and the total contempt for the electorate including "his own" voters - displayed in that stunt really said it all.

And remember kids, as you trash Mitch - he was/is selected by the GOP caucus. He's not a dictator or an outlier - he's literally the selected leader of the group.

Given the USSC invented a constitutional right of gay marriage, you have to wonder what the purpose of the legislation is, and then you realize: you in fact will bake the cake. It's funny, because the Founders wrote that if rights come from men, men can take them away.

~2010 we heard increasing cross talk about "where ELSE could they come from?! OF COURSE 'rights' come from Man!"

And then Covid and other clamp downs spread through the body politic. And the "sensible" men took our various rights away. They even call you a fascist if you disagree that fascism is justified by the "harm" possible through free speech.

Just the way the math works right now. GOP has a solid 251 EVs right now, they need 19 more. PA and MI are off the table.

To win the GOP needs to win 2 of 3 out of AZ, WI, and VA. NV is also in the mix, but at 6 EV it kind of doesn't matter.

If I see any understanding by the GOP on how they are going to find those 19 EVs, then my sig might change. But right now, the GOP has no clue and has no chance of winning in 2024. So pick the candidate accordingly, because they are going to lose.

387 So . . . Why don't the management of papermills and farm labor contractor companies not have each other rubbed out when the profit on both industries are greater than the average income in the drug trade?

What excludes the drug runners from civil solutions?
Posted by: Kindltot

Illegal activities cannot be enforced by courts currently. Remove that by making them legal, there would still be violence because of the people involved in the drug trade aren't just going to give up their livelihood. In many states with marijuana legalization, illegal dope is thriving simply because there is no way to determine whether dope is legal or not.

If you allow contracts to become all--can couples sell their children? Body parts? Can you contract for someone to kill you? And so on.

Libertarianism simply does not fit with how people behave in the real world which is why the general result in the absence of law is anarchy. I know you disagree but riddle me this--if libertarianism was actually practical--don't you think some society in the past would have been founded on it and that society being so clearly superior should dominate the world? And no, the US does not count.

surprisingly anti-libertarians rely on special pleading to insist that libertarianism doesn't work. You are confounding "total anarchy of starving pigs eating the weakest" with self organizing societies that find their own rules. If you are right, then no peaceable society is possible and we are all at the level of mistrust and violence found in the swampier parts of New Guinea, and any development from tribal totalitarianism where there is little difference from captured slave and non-ruling clique is negligible, and what we have today is impossible and does not exist.
What you claim is that our current world is either impossible or else has always existed, both arguments are false.

We've been conducting an autopsy on the GOPe, right here on this blog for going on 15 years.

The GOP stopped being a legitimate political party in 2007, it's a moribund, sclerotic, dead political party.

Trump was the dead cat bounce, the body may continue to shudder and shake periodically, but it's dead none the less.

431 Hopefully it is a quick "Buh-Buy" to Kevin McCarthy. I don't trust him one damn bit to do what's right.

As for this advisory committee being put together by the RNC, the fact that they've appointed an anti-Tea Party figure like Henry Barbour, tells me they are writing the scrpit for the advise they will end up getting.
For those who don't remember, Henry is the lobbyist nephew of former Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour. They worked with McConnell and a guy named Brad Daysong to steal a Republican Senate Primary election from their own voters in 2014, using crossover (and illegal) votes from Democrats. This was the only way they could defeat Chris McDaniel, the Tea Party candidate who actually won the majority of Republican votes.
That was the first time my eyes were open and I realized that Republicans are NOT Conservatives and will work with Democrats everytime to deny a Tea Party and later MAGA candidate a victory.
