  • Why Twitter didn't go down, from a Twitter site reliability engineer. (Substack)

    Because it's automated.

The funny thing is, this guy worked on the distributed caching system, and the distributed cache is the most visibly unreliable component of the entire platform.

  • Twitter is not only still not dead, but is planning to cast some advanced necromancy:

14 Happy Thanksgiving Skip, Pixy and the late night morons.

Amazon has put out some decent shows, so my hope is their movie division isn't completely overrun with people haired trannies who just greenlight the worst shit that no one will ever watch. Also hopefully that money is mostly spent on midbudget films, and not just a trio of $400 million crapfests like their LotR series.

37 I am glad to not be roasting a turkey this year. Ham is much easier, and the one I got looks really good too.

thing about turkey is that it smells wonderful when cooking, but there is all that work separating meat from the bones, and it always seems that too much of it goes to waste. And my wife and sons do not like the dark meat.

Thus the ham this year. And in the future, turkey breast roasts, or a good beef rib roast, or dolphin-safe manatee.

Been feeling sick since Sunday with mostly sinus issues.
I finally broke down yesterday and took an at home Kovid test. First one showed that I wasn't pregnant. I guess you don't pee on them.

So Then I read the instructions on the next one and it shows negative.
I was worried about infecting others at our brunch today.

Pregnancy is infectious?

Well, I guess in a way it kind of is. Just women are the only ones susceptible and the vector is very easy to diagnose.

88 Amazon making theatrical movies? Sure, why not. Let's spend a billion and a half on movies to be shown in a dying venue.
Not to be out done, I see Disney's plan for the future is a hope that streaming subscriptions increase enough to put them in the black. I'm not joking. On one hand they do acknowledge their traditional TV revenue was the only profitable aspect of the company right now, but even that is a dying market/platform. So hope is all they got.

The gift are in relation to her attending the 2016 Met Gala and the OCR has produced a 15-page report on Maloney's alleged violation. Drill press. Take the hard drives, and drill a few holes through them. Think 4 or 5 or so holes right through the platters.

After that, to be sure, take an O/A torch to them and melt them down a bit.

That will render them unreadable even to the most sophisticated data recovery techniques. Soaking in water will not.

The demand for "racism" out-strips the supply in 2022 U.S.. CNN is just doing its part in contributing to mind-fvkc their audience. If it weren't for the Lefties, the vast majority of Americans were ready to forget about racial prejudice by the 1980s. Mel Brooks' movie, Blazing Saddles subjected racial prejudice to ridicule -- and that was a movie made in 1974.

Drilling holes like that renders the platters unspinnable.

However, just looking this up, a "magnetic force microscope", a very expensive device could conceivably read data off the platters. This would be something only Bob@NSA and his equivalents could do.

However, wiping the drive data by overwriting a time or do, then physically damaging the platters should do it.

Heat will do it as well. Blow torch, melt and burn the platters. That randomizes everything.
