The Morning Report — 11/16/22

trekpencero.jpg

Good morning, kids. Wednesday and as most of you are probably aware Donald Trump has announced his third bid for the presidency. Before getting to the nub of this disquisition, let me start off, at the risk of irking those of you, including cobs and colleagues who are dead set against Trump by saying my admiration for that man is deep. Not since Ronald Reagan has there ever been any candidate or president with a deeper love for this nation and its citizenry than Trump. Whatever his personal flaws are as a man (and for sure he has them), his accomplishments in office prove he loves America. The question of should he run again is now moot. Is this a colossal mistake for him and more crucially for us? I don't necessarily think his age would be a hindrance but I'd be lying if I didn't hold it as a big strike against him in my eyes, but that's the least of it.

Frankly I'm put off by the animus against him which brands him as a failure for not anticipating an enemy whose vastness and depravity very few of us even imagined. It's a bit like blaming the rape victim for dressing too provocatively. In any case, regardless of my support or lack thereof for his candidacy, I'm glad he is running, if for no other reason than to make his challengers rise to that challenge. I think it's healthy regardless of what the media and the Left (BIRM) will do with it. They're going to ream him, his rivals and all of us anyway. The GOP itself sabotaged the campaigns of quite a number of MAGA candidates in the midterms for the sole purpose of fucking up a potential Trump candidacy and even victory. Sure, the lion's share of that rests in our banana republic voting season where ballots trump (no pun) votes, but there you have it.

So Trump's in and the GOP has officially retaken the House. Compare and contrast with Christopher Wray all but admitting that the FBI had stooges and confederates in amongst the J-6 crowd by his refusal to directly state "no" when queried in a hearing, and Ebenezer Baptist slumlord/wife-beater Warnock and the DSCC are now suing to extend the voting period for the GA senate seat runoff. In that light, and all things considered, does any of this even really matter anymore? Forget Trump or DeSantis. If the GOP ran Jesus Christ fresh off the cross even he (He) wouldn't stand a chance against this machine. I know I'm being a downer but I've got to call it as I see it.

Two parables: I remember back in the early 70s, some friends of mine went to a Yes concert at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City (now demolished) and had their car stolen. When they went to the cops, the response was "So, steal someone else's."

There's also the scene from The Sting when Doyle Lonegan goes apeshit after Henry Gondorff takes him down in his rigged poker game: "What was I supposed to do?! Call him out for cheating better than me?!"

Meh, the best I can do at 6:30 in the morning but I think the point is made. If the Democrats are going to eviscerate election integrity to the extent that they are able to and quite eager to harvest ballots, forge ballots and harvest forged ballots without any need to verify their legitimacy, why don't we do the same? It's a great idea until you understand people like Katie Hobbs run the elections and get to decide which votes are kosher and which are not. Also, take a look at who is still rotting away in prison for being sucked into Christopher Wray's J-6 Reichstag Fire. Do what Democrats do and you won't get the book thrown at you. You'll get the entire Library of Congress on your head.

So, do we give up? Curl into a fetal position and beg for mercy? I want to fight back but how do we do that without having a hobnailed Manolo Blahnick kick our teeth in?

NOTE: The opinions expressed in the links may or may not reflect my own. I include them because of their relevance to the discussion of a particular issue.

22 The "answer", as it always has been, is either an overwhelming threat of Type Delete, or the Type Delete itself. There is no other way to decentralize and dilute power once it has been centralized and concentrated. Barons against kings. Peasants against barons. Laborers against management. That is the grim, unfortunate reality of human nature, and there's not much more one may safely say about it.

Posted by: Warai-otoko at November 16, 2022 07:48 AM (6FeV1)

23 The question of should he run again is now moot. Is this a colossal mistake for him and more crucially for us?

Obama winning the McGOP nomination is greater than any other candidate has in winning the 2024 Presidential Sweepstakes.

The FUSA no longer has an election system.

We no longer have a Constitution. We are a low trust society run by the Deep State now on the brink of collapse because of some combination of civil war, foreign war, banking failure, famine and deindustrialization due to inadequate energy.

Show me a positive vector anywhere, or at least show we any fundamental that is promising.

The next two years of "campaigning" is just bread and circuses as the political class rakes in money from the rubes.

So you learned absolutely nothing about the false campaigns of McCain, Romney and what the McGOP intended with Jeb!

There is zero interest in the McGOP in controlling any branch of government. If they accidentally find themselves in that position it is only so that they can set themselves up for failure and being pinned as the scapegoat for every woe that inflicts We The People.

Nothing can even begin to get better until there is a credible political opposition to the lawless adhocracy. They don't even have to win out of the gate, they just have to start by existing, and by engendering the rage of the populace at their inevitable martyrdom. Such an opposition can't possibly contain figures like Pence or McConnell. However things have to shake out to make that happen, that's what needs to happen.

With rare exceptions, the party that calls for censorship is lying. People who tell the truth can deal with dissent and different opinions. In fact, truth-tellers welcome debate.

If this theory is correct—and I cannot imagine a valid argument against it—it means that in virtually every instance of a Left-Right difference, the Left is lying.

There is no important area of left-right difference in which the Left—not liberals; the Left—does not call for shutting down dissent.

The math doesn't seem to be there at all, and what very slim chance there is will be undone with some simple and well-worn fraud trickery in strategic places. I would support Trump for a number of reasons. But I have no feeling whatsoever last night hearing the announcement. Because he can't win. We should. A lot of Republicans will go to prison if we do, but it will also force those prosecutions. Not a single Democrat will be prosecuted, of course, but a few "stolen" races where Republicans win might actually force a change to election law. That is step 1.

Step 2 is harder, which is enforcing those changes, but you have to start somewhere. And playing by the rules is where you *don't* start in a game where the opponent cheats. You either cheat, too, or you walk away from the table.

It is a well known fact that D's, already wired up with a communal mindset, will rally around the most depraved candidate (helps when D's have no morals or ethics to inhibit them); OTOH R's are fickle tend to be more independent and at times like to remind themselves of how independent they are by voting for other party losers and flakes.

When Trump was elected in his race against the murderous gangster Clinton and her flying monkeys in the GOP, I thought it was impossible to have a lower opinion of the Party & State than I had, or to fear their enormous power more than I did.

Subsequent events proved that their reach, their grasp, and their wickedness extended beyond even my own darkest suspicions.

That whole experience finished off my desire to try and repair the system. I saw behind the curtain, and sorry - this isn't fixable. Not by Trump, or any elected official, or group of them.

Blaming him for the absolute, historic disaster this country has become is silly. The ship of state was already reefed when he climbed aboard.

And Pence gets the nomination.

The Media then immediately turns on him and there are nothing but terrible stories and "revelations" from then until election day. Biden is "elected" with the biggest vote count in history.

He was on the battlefield and he failed to show an ounce of leadership. I've said many times that I believe what he was specifically asked to do was unconstitutional and precedent setting in a bad way. That's not my issue. My issue is he failed to speak out regarding specific instances of fraud and election tampering by Democrat officials. We needed that clear, cogent voice at the time to explain what happened and why the election was fraudulent. Instead we got the circus which seems to follow Trump, including many lawyers of questionable repute and capability. Pence could have been the voice in the wilderness. He has the perfect background to clearly explain what happened. He didn't. Instead he thought about self over sacrifice. When the moment came, he failed miserably.

Candidates that Trump endorsed did very well, and in some places they were hurt by McConnel.

Oz did better than any other Republican would do in today's PA. He was hurt by Fetterman being able to delay debating until many absentee ballots were already in. Debate 2 weeks earlier and Oz wins.

Masters was hurt by McConnell pulling money, and not because of the money, but thre optics of McConnell having no confidence in him, which probably swayed some mccain voters . if McConnell didn't pull money, or hell just gave a fraction to begin with, Masters wins

In Florida, where Trump won handily in 2020, the Republicans overperformed by 10 points.

But in Pennsylvania, Democrats over performed 2020 by 1 point.

This is, of course, a result that has never happened in the entire history of the United States. Understanding why is going to take time.

But it destroys all the narratives they are trying to push. If it was anti MAGA, why did O' Dea lose? If it was abortion, why didn't Dems do better in FL, OH, and TX? If it was anti-Trump why not nationwide? How come MAGA candidates won in CA? If it was turning off moderates and independents, explain the wins in FL, NY, CA, OH, etc. Why did AZ flip two congressional seats, yet voted for Democrats for statewide offices?

1/6 was already too late.
Immediately after the election, it was crystal clear that we had just been through a Color Revolution. The one way to fight back? Protest. Just show up. Not in a handful of Stop the Steal rallies and one or two big ones in DC. Show up in the streets everywhere and just let your numbers be seen, day after day after day. Like what is happening in Brazil right now. We did not do that and when it was mentioned to our side, it was readily dismissed. The whole mood of the country was weird in those days after the steal, but we did NOT show up in numbers…and I was at a few Stop the Steal rallies, all prior to 1/6. I begged so many people to come to stand with us and couldn’t get anyone to come out. There is no safety in numbers if there are no numbers.

-

I'll say it again.

China is driving the United States' insistence on forcing EVs on our population and market. The US is following their timeline, the timeline established by the communist leadership for mainland China. Our manufacturers want it because China is the largest market and there is a ton of money waiting for them, and they aren't going to make two powertrains. Politicians are bought, manufacturers are bought. EVs win.

I have $100 that this has been a long-term goal by China to reduce our productivity and help damage our economy while theirs continues to get stronger without being hamstring-ed by silly environmental laws. I have no doubt that if you look at Global Warming money spent over the last 30 years that most of the research dollars promoting it could be connecting to communist China.

Given the past 10-15 years of every Democrat objective being achieved and every Republican objective being stymied (other than Trump's EOs and an occasional tax cut) despite shifts in Party power throughout, what value is there to saving the GOP under current conditions? How is ensuring GOP power in the next cycle different from ensuring DNC power in the next cycle?

Yes. Since Reconstruction the Supreme Court has ruled that a pardon is valid if issued at any time after the crime occurs. You don't have to wait for the defendant to be arrested, charged or convicted.

Also, impeachment does not limit the president's powers. Just FYI, Trump pardoned 73 people on January 20, including corrupt former Democrat mayor of Detroit Kwame Kilpatrick... and LIL WAYNE. He pardoned a Democrat and a drug-abusing rapper before he pardoned any January 6 protestor.

There are answers/excuses for why Trump didn't pardon the January 6 protestors, but none of them are any good.

There's no "whatever" to it. Go look at when Buick is not making any more ICE vehicles. It's the same year China requires 40% of all vehicles sold in China to be electric.

Guess who is the biggest American brand in China? Go ahead. Guess.

Same as gas cans that don't work and tons of other products that we suffer through because California is filled with idiots, manufacturers aren't going to make two powertrains. They're going to make one. You are going to buy what they offer. And they're offering what they offer because of China.

They couldn't care less what you could or couldn't do. That's not their problem.

And WEF. You can tell by the dates - it's always "by 2030" or "by 2035" - both years that have planned WEF deliverables. 2030 is the year the WEF set for the "you will own nothing, have no privacy, and love it" or whatever the exact phrasing is...

China participates in WEF, so it's an 'embrace the power of and' thing going on here.

There has not been any update to vote totals in Boebert's race since last Thursday. 388 So, cheating is now as certain to happen as it was impossible 8 days ago? Maybe.

You are conflating election strategeries.

For something local such as representative, there is a very simple cheating plan - mostly through gerrymandering solid districts in favor of The Party.

For State-wide elections, or for grabbing the Winner Takes All electoral votes, you just need to corrupt the hell out of a major metropolitan area - sort of like Chicago, Maricopa County in Arizona or Harris County in Texas.

For the Presidential Sweepstakes, the cheat is in turning over a swing state through the same process as any other state-wide election. Think of 40+ states as virtually gerrymandered into R or D leaving less than 10 states that need to be corrupted. Find the major metropolitan areas or overload your already corrupt districts so that there is 100%+ turnout for your candidate and off to the White House you go.

The GOP is unprepared to respond, and the leadership votes are proving that they won't learn.

There's no question that Trump could have pardoned everone who committed a crime against the United States at the Capitol on January 6. So take that question off the table. The answer is YES.

I raise it as an issue because it tells us quite a bit about Trump. (1) Does he fight the Deep State? No, he does not, because he did not strike a blow against the Deep State's attack on his supporters. (2) Does he care about his supporters? No, he does not.

Pardoning the January 6 protestors was a simple test for Trump that he failed bigly. Leaving his supporters in prison should be disqualifying for re-election.

415 "Identity politics aims to humiliate ‘whites’ by constantly accusing them of their presumed ancestors’ role in things they didn’t do themselves.
Yes, while the attacks on "whiteness" are simply attempts to get weak-minded, insecure, lowIQ white voters to constantly crawfish away from traditional values and MAGA, these attacks more importantly are-
communist inspired attacks on the "Middle Class".
Our Betters hate hate hate your bougie asses because you can live without them and their "inspired" guidance. The Middle Class, the Working Class, the Bourgeoisie are a scary, fermenting ball of chaos cuz we provide the energy that causes turnover amongst Our Betters. One of the things that convinced me that Reagan was really onto something was that the rate of movement out of and into the "Upper Class" was greatly accelerated.
A great deal of entitled Human Bloatware fell out. And the useless bloaties hate that. Look around the world every Midle Class person of any race, religion, or nation has and has to have Middle Class Values or "whiteness".

Don't get me wrong; it's okay to be concerned about election fraud. But too many Republicans spend too much time *campaigning* on it and complaining about it. That stuff doesn't move the needle with swing voters. What needs to happen is this:
(1) Win the election by getting enough swing voters to vote for you that the election goes beyond the Margin of Stealing
(2) Fix the fraud issues once you get in office.

Posted by: Dave in Fla (there is no path to 270)

I've long quipped that "Trump is Moses". This is more true now than ever. I agree with you, Dave, that 2024 is lost to us, as it stands right now. That being the case, Trump still needs to run, to show the next generation of Republicans how to win (even in losing), and to expose the deep corruption on both sides - but especially ours. The institutional GOP - the conservative media, the 'conservative' foundations, and the 'conservative' politicians - are rotten to the core, and all closet globalists.

DeSantis and Youngkin are wasting their time if they try to run in this environment. Unless the infrastructure gets a major upgrade, they are doomed in '24. Fix it, and run in '28. They are the new Joshuas. Maybe.

Fix it faster, and maybe - maybe - Trump can win.

What we lack are people with courage. It's a disease that has infected our entire society, even apparently this place. We also lack people with the fortitude to get off their ass and help change things. With their own two hands, or with the brains that God gave them. It doesn't happen while you're sitting on your couch, or typing on the internet. It happens by getting your hands dirty. And frankly, the people winning right now, the people constantly criticized and characterized as effeminate losers, are kicking the ass of the loafers, which includes a lot of the so called Republican by voters.

451 It isn't just cheating. As Dave has pointed out, GOTV is also a problem that the GOP has no interest in trying to solve. There is a lot of cheating and it is endemic in cheat-by-mail states, but there's also the problem of a lot of voters sitting it out, particularly in the Upper Midwest. There are a lot of people who will vote for Trump but won't vote otherwise. Those people are loudly ignored by the Party. If the GOP cannot win at scale without Trump voters - and it appears that they probably can't - then the GOP needs to court them.

The message is pretty easy, as are the policies. They care about trade, immigration, the business environment and local services (namely education). They care about these things because those things hit them directly in their jobs, in their kids' classrooms, in their towns. They are not traditional GOP voters because the GOP has not traditionally done anything they care about beyond the occasional tax cut. If there's any hope of victory and overcoming the cheat-by-mail states, the GOP cannot ignore the non-GOP "Trump voter." It doesn't have to be him, but it does need to be his message. And they need to court it hard with targeted efforts.

How was Trump to know WHO to pardon in the two short weeks he had left?

Posted by: IrishEi

Everyone. Pardon everyone who could commited a crime against the United States on January 6, 2021 in or within 500 feet of the Capitol.

"But what about people who committed real crimes?" you might ask.

Too bad. Better that 9 guity men go free than one MAGA Patriot be jailed for trying to stop the steal. Which is of course the correct move: hundreds of good people have been charged with bullshit crimes. I'm not seeing anyone who actually deserves to be in jail.

You expect Trump to go gloves-off and fight the Deep State? Well it's going to take big moves, big bold fuck-you's to the Deep State. And pardoning everyone is what is needed.

It may take an economic crash to make this work. Consider that Zuckerberg pumped hundreds of millions into voter fraud movement, that Bezos, the Disney Cartel and a host of other multi-billionaires threw money into getting the junta into office. Consider that the ramp up on censors and censorship was costing Twitter millions per day in salary expense.

With a collapsed economy, that money for fraud isn't flowing so much, especially since these billionaires got ass raped by their chosen candidate. The money isn't there for FTX, it isn't there for the swarms of censors and propagandists.

In that sense, it may change.

The Dems want infighting among people who don't vote Democrat and the nomination process is many months down the pike.

Individual rights are not subject to a public vote ... the political function of rights is precisely to protect minorities from oppression by majorities.

Nowadays, lefties believe Individual Rights are obstacles to government enforcement of equal outcomes in human endeavor. So, pretty exactly the opposite of Rand.

We are being overwhelmed in this debate, and by ignorant idiots programmed by indoctrination in education backed up by propaganda in media. Change is desperately needed.

No, I don't. I don't need them. I need to work to get the right people into leadership who possess courage and the temerity to win. At all costs.

They work for us. We don't work for them.

We got record number of people from all demographics out to vote. Ordinary people. We need to double that effort. Then we need to wipe out the apathetic old guard that passes themselves off for leadership. Along with that we need to clean out the GOP and no talent, failure inducing, rote, uncreative people like Rona McDaniel. These are not the people we need to lead the troops. I would actually like to see Harmeet Dilllon, who has more balls and more fight then the entire GOP caucus, to lead.

Pete, you're the voice of reason in this thread. So you prefer the scenario in which hundreds of good people unjustly rot in jail and have their lives ruined by the Deep State to the scenario under which no MAGA people have their lives ruined by the Deep State, but a few FBI informants get pardoned too. (1) The guy who will do what the Establishment hates and take big bold moves to say "fuck you" to the Deep State because those radical acts are necessary to win...

506 And on cue, RedState.com starts bashing Trump.

But this time, they have a new attack Yorkie. It isn't the churlishl Mike Miller but some guy named Bob Hoge. I haven't previously heard of him and he comes up with a rather sophmoric attack. Since President Trump gave a focused bid announcement [by not mentioning all the items that RedState has a hissy fit over], Hoge decried the speech as boring.
See with RedState, President Trump can't ever please them. In their warped view, he's either bombastic or (now) boring.

507 I'd like to see our big money guys, Lindell, Thiel, etc, start to fund lawsuits to end mail-in balloting. We always seem to shy away from lawfare as "undemocratic", but these are the battlefields we're on. And we have to play by their lack of rules. Quite frankly I'm surprised Trump hasn't been doing this already. But I know many shysters are afraid of working for him now.
At the same time, we should be working to both use and break those states with mail in voting. Cloward and Piven their systems, so the flaws become so obvious, they will demand reform for self preservation.

511 People on both sides are way over-interpreting this election.

For Republicans, good candidates won, or at least did well (let's face it, NY governor was always a stretch, even with a great candidate.)

But bad candidates lost.

I'm sorry if this triggers people who are really into Trumpy behavior and think it signals authenticity or fighting spirit or whatever. But candidate quality matters, and one of the prime measures of candidate quality is the ability to avoid stepping on your own d***.

You think Kelly Ayotte or Chris Sununu wouldn't have beaten Maggie Hassan in New Hampshire? Either would have won, pretty easily IMO. But Don Bolduc running around doing things like claiming the largest high school in the state was setting out litter boxes for kids who identify as cats (false, and easily disproven) was always going to be a heavy lift for non-crazy voters.

Nominate a normy and not a nut for PA governor, and Oz isn't dragged down in a very winnable race. Herschel Walker? That's the best we've got? Sarah Palin splitting the R vote in Alaska is a good idea...why? Because "Fight!" or something?

Elections in our two-party system are a zero-sum game.

Posted by: RichieC at November 16, 2022 10:41 AM (DxBF0)

512 Republicans need to run on stronger message and less nane calling. You'd think it would be obvious when liberals are trashing the country and it's traditions and castrating kids, but unfortunately it isn't. Public school education is so poor now, we really need to educate people that western technology and management is what lifted the world out of subsistence living. It's why there are 60M people in south africa, not 600k. We need to explain to people that trans is the new skinhead, except tattoos are only skin deep and hair can be regrown. We really need to explain the basics to people. Trump is loved by many because as Chapelle noted, he is an honest liar: "I know the game is rigged because I've used it". "Not paying taxes makes me smart. Change the laws if you want, but you won't because you take advantage of it too". More of that and less name calling.

By 2020 he should have been ready for the Dems to try vote fraud, and to actually fight back against it, not just make speeches

Instead the FBI was working with Facebook to suppress information that hurt Democrats.

Why?

Because Trump sucks at personnel

It's not a job that you can do on your own, but with his left wing daughter and son-in-law, he's never going to get the Right wing staff he needs

516 Trump failed

He failed again this year.

Why wasn't he spending $100 million working to catch Dem vote fraud?

Trump is all about Trump. And while that was enough to win the election in 2016, it wasn't enough to beat the Deep State. To do that you need a solid team, which Trump does not, and never will, have

Is your goal Trump, or beating the Deep State?

If it's beating the DS, then stop making excuses for Trump
