An Iranian hermit who had been unofficially dubbed the “world’s dirtiest man” after not showering for some 60 years has died at age 94, state media reported. Yeah I need to update the prayer thread. MRI was negative for brain cancer thank God. The week of November 7th is gonna suck though. Radiation and chemo all in the same week. I'm not going to be feeling so hot for awhile.

Okay, which bathroom exactly was it that Pauli used? I would think if his phone were charging in the bathroom, it would be the master suite, mostly likely located upstairs. The story is about some guy named Rose that was arrested, wrongly, for being on a public sidewalk expounding on carrying a gun. He was outside a DeathSantis event. Cops said he was fine doing what he was doing, but another cop decided to arrest him for trespassing.

A mall is "private property" technically speaking - but is considered a "place of public accommodation" legally speaking.
Many if not most municipalities have declared just about every place as "no smoking" - including malls. What I'm getting at, banning firearms from n public shouldn't hold up to the slightest scrutiny.
See also: Liability. Schools (or the taxpayer really) are "in loco parentis" when they have students n custody, yet refuse to protect them.

The low point of my life 40+ years ago was a week I spent moving pianos, in the snow, for minimum wage ($2.70/hour, I think), with no medical insurance. To top it off, the crew chief was a guy who was proud of the fact that he'd once been arrested for dealing cocaine with Spider Sabich's son. Not just proud of being arrested, or being arrested with someone famous, but being arrested with the son of someone famous, and only really famous because he'd been murdered by someone even more famous. What a maroon! The low point of that low-pointy week was when the boss sent three of us to deliver an upright piano to the basement of a suburban house. Three's enough for a spinet, but an upright going up or down stairs really needs four, one for each corner. To top it off, said crew chief 'got something in his eye' half way down the stairs and left the other two of us holding the piano in the middle of the stairs while he took a very leisurely trip to the bathroom to wash it out.
Fortunately, after a week of this I got another job driving a truck, which led (via data-processing) to a ten-year career as a programmer-analyst.

This is pretty much what happened in software right as I was finishing up college (impeccable timing, yeah?). The system collapsed due to a combination of burnout and 2008 related chaos and companies were forced to back off in order to keep key staff from jumping ship. It's also a big contributor to the rise of the Agile cult, because management could point to that and its vaguely populist trappings as proof that they've turned a new leaf and instituted policy changes to keep the bad old days from returning.

I think we have to start with the recognition that apart from private clubs with membership fees, virtually every place is "public". Civil rights laws, and many others, saw to that.
I don't think any reasonable scrutiny could allow that a shopping mall can declare "no weapons".
That doesn't mean I like it. This is the result of contradictory legislation, well meaning and otherwise, Why should anyone lose their right of self defense because they are in a public space? Or a government space for that matter. Just a thought exercise is all.

In my humble opinion, civil time should be UT1, astronomical time. Let TAI (or IAT) be the straight second counter. TAI and GPS are offset by about 19 seconds. They should tick at about the same rate, but it does vary a bit.

This one looks metric, so maybe Chinese. Runs quiet, and the ball bearings are good. Sucker takes at least a full minute to spin down after being turned off. Spindle seemed to be about 5/8" plus a hair. I am happy it was not the left-hand nut I needed. But I guess, if I had to, I could make one in the lathe.

We could do that right here, if we were so inclined. There is a big wind farm less than 2 miles north of me, that follows a northwesterly-trending ridge for at least 5 miles. And the formation below is laced with coal seams. Might have to go down a hundred meters or so, though. I can see several coal-bed methane wells from my kitchen window.

Whoops, I erred. Lactose and lactate are two different things. However, lactate is so named as it is a byproduct of metabolizing lactose.
Ringer's Lactate is Ringer's solution with the addition of sodium lactate.
Squad 51 knows this, I'm sure.

EVERY hard core Brit bike wrench I've known, dealt with Lucas, thus.
Strip it all out, replace with Honda or Yamaha bits.
If authenticity needed, Strip it all out, replace with new loom and all new Lucas bits, axle to axle, kickstand to handlebar.
It always saved them much time over troubleshooting actual Lucas problems.

Yeah thats pretty much what he would do. Gotta say one thing, you really don't have electrical problems with the harleys, unless the owners touch them and do stupid shit. I mean you get shit like voltage regulators, alternators/generators, starter relay, etc shitting the bed, but thats after a long time. I was building an entire new wire harness on a bike thursday, and I remember the dude saying his headlight didn't work. I pulled out the bulb, and the plug for the bulb was bad, so instead of changing it some chuckle head just twisted the bare wires around the blade terminals of the bulb. the evil that men do.
