This is a very sassy Malamute.

Sometimes your donkey is more amorous than you might like.

Sound on: A nursing fawn. At least, I hope it's nursing.

Another game of two-cup monty with a poor dog.

Purring raccoon.

On your feet, just two more days to go...

When animals think we're not watching, they act... weird.

Capybara Delivery Service.

The pack.

Happy muncher.

Otters holding hands -- but you've seen that. But at the end, one otter leans over to give a little kiss to the other otter's paw.

Sound on:

Sound on:

Kittens playing with a balloon... briefly.

Sound on:

Siberian Huskies are slimmer, traditionally used for long distance sled running. Alaskan Malamutes are much larger and are used for pulling much heavier loads. Both are beautiful breeds.

Several, including The Man with the Twisted Lip. He never touched on the Ripper though. I have a story in mind as to why, but the last Holmes short story I wrote was really tough and not especially well received.

The fact that his mind jumped so quickly to cheating makes me wonder if this is another Herb Stempel thing where the whole game is rigged and everyone's in on it. One of the "tells" that cheating may have been at work was that the winner was oddly evasive about how he won.

Normally, chess players will bore you to death about how they saw this strategy and then that move occurred to them. Apparently the kid was unable to describe either his thoughts or strategy - which would indicate that he was following a bot, not thinking it up himself.

237 Diogones. Mooses is huge, but it remains that in the Nordic countries, the 6.5x55 is still a very popular moose-killin' round. Good accuracy, 2,900 fps from a 24" bbl., and one of the highest sectional densities in the bullets catalog. Great coefficient of drag, which helps with long range shots, but those are seldom and few in those frozen Northern forests.

And now the Boomstick Boffins have perfected the 6.5 Creedmoor. Same exact bullet and benefits, about 98%~99% the same velocities, but the Creedmoor is earning long range accuracy trophies by the boxcar load. All has to do with how the shape of the case and type of powders used, make the "pressure wave" that sends the bullet targetward. Looks like the Creedmoor has just a bit less "upset" as the round leaves the barrel, giving it a smoother initial start on it's flight.

I've been testing rounds through my Creedmoor. It's living up to the hype. Now, I just need to get in on a moose hunt !

269 Whataburger. Sausage*, Egg & Cheese Taquito. (contents wrapped in flour tortilla).. (cheese is the same American Cheese they use on their burgers, torn into bits and rolled into the Taquito.)

Rated: Superior.

*Whataburger has their own brand of sausage, which is better even than Jimmy Dean's. The H.E.B. Grocery Stores sell the Whataburger sausage, so you can make your own Taquitos at home. Get the ratios correct, and congratulations. You're now a Taquito Addict!

272 Normally, chess players will bore you to death about how they saw this strategy and then that move occurred to them. Apparently the kid was unable to describe either his thoughts or strategy - which would indicate that he was following a bot, not thinking it up himself.

This is being way oversold. Niemann's a teenager that just got one of his biggest wins of his career, expecting him to be crystal clear with his immediate post-game analysis is a very arbitrary hurdle.

Carlsen acted very unprofessionally by accusing him of cheating for very spurious reasons like claiming his opponent wasn't tense enough at certain points during the game. A game that Carlsen had opportunities to draw and either missed or avoided. His business partners then rushed out to ban Niemann from their website in solidarity and blamed his past cheating which they already knew about and punished him for. Which has been a nice smoke screen and potentially saves Carlsen from being punished by FIDE.

I suck at chess, but I know that whenever I have pulled out some sort of upset win in a game, I can't shut up about how awesome it was and how I felt as I made the closing move.

The anticipation, the exhilaration of reading the opponent, the thrill of realizing they are moving into your trap or can't see your strategy - people who do that need to be sedated because they're so jacked. So yes, this is a plausible "tell."

On the other hand, it is difficult to quantify how little I care about the whole thing, so you win.

290 Good evening everyone. Just finished up our Zoom Rosary call.
--------------------
Tonypete, for this Friday...

||On Oct. 7, Holy Mother Church celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary.

It was on this day in 1571 that Christian forces achieved an unexpected naval victory at the Battle of Lepanto.

Pope St. Pius V tried to rally together the Catholic monarchs of Europe to beat back the Ottoman threat, giving his blessing and financial backing to an alliance called the Holy League. Soldiers and ships from various lands in Europe came to be a part of this special Christian alliance.

The saintly pope exhorted the Christian faithful to pray the Rosary. Many people in Rome took part in public recitation of the Rosary the same day as the battle. The faithful gathered in countless places throughout Europe to offer prayers for the Holy League's success.||

338 It is said that after the battle, as the sun was setting Pius ordered the bells to be run in the Vatican, for the Christian fleet had won a great victory. Since no word had arrived, many were puzzled, but they did as he said - and when the messengers arrived with the glorious news, the response was: "We know."

So, how did Pius find out?

353 So, how did Pius find out?
---------------------
||That day, in Rome, around at 5:00 pm, Pius V was discussing business with his treasurer, Bartolomeo Bussotti. Suddenly, the Pope interrupted the conversation, got up, approached the window, and stayed there for some time, as if contemplating a mysterious scene. Then, visibly moved, he returned to his treasurer and said: “Let’s not talk any more about business. It’s not time for that. But let us go and thank God because our army has won a victory at this moment.” Then he dismissed the prelates and went immediately to the chapel, where a cardinal found him weeping with joy. Treasurer Bussotti and his colleagues faithfully noted the day and hour when the Pope had made this statement, which was confirmed 15 days later by the arrival of a courier with news of the great victory.||

I heard statins do improve lipid numbers but make no difference in heart risk, which is why anybody cares about cholesterol. So you're taking a drug to improve blood tests but not health. All meds have some risk, but they should offer an actual benefit and statins do not.

Pretty much the same precision and external ballistics of the proven Match King, but built for penetration and expansion, as a true hunting bullet should.

But really, just about any of the premium bonded or partitioned bullets ought to be up to the job. Acceptable accuracy out to "you shouldn't do that" ranges, as well as penetration and expansion suited to a good, clean and quick, big game kill.
