Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Morning Report — 9/29/22The [so-called quote-unquote "president"] appeared to call for Republican Indiana Rep. Jackie Walorski to stand up for acknowledgement at a White House conference on nutrition and health Wednesday, seemingly forgetting the congresswoman died in a car crash in August. ABC News reporter Cecilia Vega questioned Jean-Pierre on why he made this mistake during Wednesday’s press briefing. “The president was, as you all know, you guys were watching today’s event — a very important event on food insecurity,” Jean-Pierre said. “The president was naming congressional champions on this issue and was acknowledging her incredible work. He had already planned to welcome the congresswoman’s family to the White House on Friday. There will be a bill-signing in her honor this coming Friday, so of course she was on his mind. She was on top of mind for the president. He very much looks forward to discussing her remarkable legacy of public service with them when he sees her family this coming Friday.” . . . The reporter then repeated the [so-called quote-unquote "president’s"] remarks at the event, where he said, “Jackie, are you here? Where’s Jackie? She must not be here.” The press secretary repeated her answer of the congresswoman “being on top of mind” for the [so-called quote-unquote "president"] and mentioning the upcoming signing."Right now, the only thing Biden is good at being on top of is the nearest 12-year-old girl and two scoops of Ben & Jerry's Rachel Corrie Crunch. Despite the laughable attempts of his Malveaux-munching mop-top mouthpiece to explain away his latest uncontrolled oopsie, the brain capacity of the Delaware Demento is the least of our problems, at least not directly. We can rag on him all we want but with every aspect of our nation going up in flames as a result of the policies inflicted on us by those who installed The Big Guy as the front guy, the race to see who gets the prize for most insane is neck and neck. I mean, he has dementia. What the hell is Ron Klain's, Susan Rice's and Valerie Jarrett's collective excuse? This week, both of the undersea Russian natural pipelines that supply Germany—Nord Stream 1 and 2—apparently have been attacked. No one has claimed responsibility, but former Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski on Twitter thanked the United States. Our government was never particularly happy about either of these pipelines, nor Germany’s diffidence about reducing its use of them, and now they have been blown up. If this was undertaken by the United States—and this string of analytical tweets is pretty persuasive—this is simply the latest in a series of escalations. These include the earlier provision of HIMARS systems and whatever intelligence support our forces provided to help the Ukrainians sink the Russian ship Slava, as well as the large presence of English-speaking western contractors in the recent Kharkov offensive. Assuming this escalation is part of a strategy, there is some logic to it all. With American-rival Russia and the American “frenemy” of Western Europe constrained by the war, the United States is an intended winner, much as it was from World War II, where most of the fighting was done overseas. If Germany intended to reach a separate peace and trade deal with Russia over the winter, this is no longer an option. While the United States is spending a lot of money, it is also creating conditions to enhance its status as the chief supplier of green energy and LNG infrastructure to Europe, enhancing their economic dependency on us. Unsurprisingly, the British Pound and the Euro have been falling precipitously in relation to the American dollar as the war has dragged on. One deficiency of the American strategy is the (presumably) unintentional benefit to China, which now gets cheaper Russian energy and has a captive market for its exports. Similarly, our impact on Europe and Russia is raising the profile of would-be regional hegemons, Turkey and Iran, each of which have been able to put their domestic military industries on prominent display. While most of these results may be the intention of decision-makers, as with much else the government does, there is a gap between their view and the objective interests of the people they govern. Does the average American really benefit from deepening our commitment to this war and encouraging Russian escalation? Do our European allies benefit from paying five times more for natural gas and electricity, because of sanctions and blown up pipelines? . . . . . . It is not certain that the United States took out the pipelines, but it appears likely. If it is true, under what principle of morality or international law could the United States deem a Russian response a provocation? What if Russia decided to take out a liquid natural gas facility, such as the one outside Boston, or sabotage one of our many military bases in Europe, or the Alaska pipeline for that matter? . . . . . . The Cold War was scary enough, and that’s when guys in short-sleeved white shirts with high IQs and wearing hipster glasses before they were cool were figuring things out at the RAND Corporation. Our foreign policy is now run by melodramatic theater majors and the half-educated products of the Ivy League. This creature, for example, is now responsible for preventing nuclear sabotage.Ho. Lee. Fook. Tucker points out that there is no good reason at all for Russia to have sabotaged these pipelines. Why would the Russians render inoperable the source of their economic leverage over Europe? I mean, maybe they did do it, but it's hard to understand why, given that if they wanted to cut off gas to Europe, they have the power without destroying their own equipment. But, as Tucker points out, it's not hard at all to understand why the US would want the pipelines damaged. He airs clips of Joe Biden and the State Department's Victoria Nuland saying earlier this year that if Russia invades Ukraine, it would be a shame if something happened to Nord Stream. Well, they were more forceful than that: . . . if Putin invades, than (in Biden's words) "there will be no longer a Nord Stream... We will bring an end to it." . . . One could certainly see why sabotaging Nord Stream benefits the US. We didn't want Europe to get Nord Stream in the first place, because it would make Europe dependent on Russian gas. This is perfectly reasonable, from an American point of view. However, if Washington sabotaged those pipelines in the middle of the Ukraine-Russia war, that would mean an insane escalation of the war, to sabotaging critical infrastructure. Think about it: if Russia can't deliver gas to Europe anyway, because the pipelines are too damaged, that makes it harder to make peace and restore energy flow to Europe. This fits Washington's policy goals. That doesn't mean Washington is responsible for this sabotage, but there's a lot more reason for Washington to have blown the pipelines up than for Russia. . . . . . Think about it: winter is soon arriving in Europe. If European peoples get tired of being cold, and/or paying a fortune for heating, they may take to the streets to demand that their governments push for peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, so that the flow of Russian gas can start again. But now, with the Nord Stream pipelines badly damaged, that possibility has been foreclosed, has it not?So, Biden — and when I use his name I refer not to him but the Kalorama Klown Komintern because right now Biden is talking to people he's going to be joining in the Choir Invisible very soon — committed an act of war against both Russia and Germany, so as to give the US the advantage in selling our fossil fuels to Europe. Fuels that he and his party have declared war on because they allegedly threaten all life on earth. Remember, gentle reader, according to the top brass in the War Department (yeah, all things considered, let's revert back to the original name in deference to truth in advertising), the greatest threats to our national security are "climate change" and "white supremacy." Funny how the Global Reset Mafia (who own outright, or for sure are in bed with, the Kaloramans) who are hell bent on destroying fossil fuels and making us eat bugs were put on the back foot when much of Europe decided to hell with Green Energy and looked longingly at coal, oil, natural gas and nuclear. Funny also how the Biden Crime Family have been up to their necks in graft with Ukraine, considered to be one of the most, if not the most corrupt government on the planet. And look-ee here! Biden is sending another $1.1 billion dollars to Zelensky which no doubt will piss off an already enraged, and flailing, Vladimir Putin, whose life is now literally on the line if he does not deliver something that legitimately resembles a victory in Ukraine, and soon. Yes, my friends. Stolen elections indeed have consequences, including the prospect of "getting our hair mussed" but good.

Law enforcement has used the Fog data for a wide range of investigations, from the murder of a nurse in Arkansas to tracking the movements of a potential participant in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, the Associated Press reported. According to Fog, it's providing a helpful service so law enforcement agencies can better do their jobs. So, Biden ... committed an act of war against both Russia and Germany, so as to give the US the advantage in selling our fossil fuels to Europe.
++++ I think that's an overly narrow view of things. It is likely a factor if we did it, but only one factor and likely not a top reason. There is much more going on if this war can be elongated. Germany's industrial power will be crippled, especially in their critical areas of machine tools, chemicals, dyes and robotics. There are a number of countries - both us and our controllers in the East - that would very much like to see that outcome. The war in Eastern Europe will continue, tying up resources there and leaving the entire Orient exposed to action without risk of Russian interference and with a reduced American capacity to respond. The constant, deep flow of graft can continue through the West's favorite laundromat in Ukraine. There are also downsides, like the rise in protectionism across the world, sudden reimposition of export controls and the fact that elongating this conflict will compound the coming famine. It's a dangerous game. Though energy is probably a reason, I doubt it cracks the top 5. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at September 29, 2022 08:04 AM (t0OGg) 74

On the morning news today, I will give some credit to CBS in that it took them just over ten minutes to make Hurricane Ian all about Donald Trump. He was scheduled to be deposed today, apparently, but he refused to leave Florida and the opposing lawyers refused to go there. He's using the hurricane in a cynical political ploy to avoid legal action, of course.

I'll just leave this here for anyone who is interested. From the study:
"However, at about 30 million EVs, things get dicey. At the local level, issues may arise at even smaller EV adoption numbers. That’s because one fast-charging EV can draw as much load as up to 50 homes. If, for example, every house in a cul-de-sac has an EV, one power transformer won’t be able to handle multiple EVs charging at the same time." https://tinyurl.com/2z46exr9 Posted by: Moron Robbie - Don't insist that I accept what you are when you can't accept what you are at September 29, 2022 08:11 AM (Y2MAM) 93

It still is asinine to apply this ambiguous singular third person "they" to a concrete, identified person though. Posted by: Warai-otoko at September 29, 2022 08:11 AM (LoflN) 95

Posted by: San Franpsycho at September 29, 2022 08:13 AM (EZebt) ++++ Define "imminent." Before spring is unlikely, and before maybe 2024-2025 is less likely than after, but things change fast. The CCP's party congress is in a month or two and thy will either install Xi as emperor for life or there will be a *huge* upset and the opposing faction will take power. If Xi gets reinstalled - which is where my money would be if I were betting on it - then he *will* go after Taiwan. A winter campaign is unlikely, but the spring isn't off the table. They'd probably prefer to wait since they still have force build-up to do, but if they judge the opportunity to be right, then they'll probably go for it. If the opposition is installed this autumn, war with Taiwan becomes less likely since they're more focused on the economy than on restoration of the Chinese empire under harder-line ideology. Russia has four other pipelines to Europe. Yamal, Ukraine, Turkstream and Bluestream. NS1 was the largest source. Shutting that down puts the squeeze on Europe. It sends a signal that Russia will weaponize energy. It's meant to inflict maximum pain this winter, and create leverage in Ukraine.

Probably a pretty high-stakes, high-stress job, right? One day, about 18 months ago, someone comes up to you at your hardened laboratory, and says "the new boss just badged in. Look alive, Jenkins!" And, in walks... The Atomic Tranny Dogboy. Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at September 29, 2022 08:27 AM (oINRc) 148
I'm no Internet Expert, but presumably a massive pipeline like this has periodic shut off valves in it by design. Did this attack sever the ability to control those valves remotely? There's gotta be more to this story that the crushingly inept journalist guild is too stupid or malicious to say.

There is zero interest in Russia destroying their own pipelines. They proved quite well that they can hit the On/Off switch without causing billions in damage to their own equipment. Posted by: Reuben Hick at September 29, 2022 08:28 AM (ceWUn) 151
From March 2022:
President Joe Biden announced an agreement on Friday committing the U.S. liquefied natural gas industry to supply an additional 15 billion cubic tons (bct) of LNG to Europe through the remainder of 2022. The agreement additionally envisions U.S. LNG increasing that supply to Europe to 50 bct through 2030. [...] Ms. Siegel [enviro whacko] hits on a key point: In order to dramatically increase its capacity to export more LNG to Europe, the U.S. industry would need to invest billions in additional pipeline and export infrastructure to move and handle the added volumes of natural gas. Over the past 15 months, it has become quite clear to the industry that using the permitting and regulatory processes at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and other federal agencies to slow and halt pipeline and other oil and gas infrastructure is a central element of the Biden energy and environment policy. And there are in fact very good reasons that Russia might want to do it. Sabotaging Nordstream now increases pressure on European governments, and also increases the chances that Nordstream 2 (which is ready for use) will need to be approved. Excellent distraction for the demolition of NS1 and 2. I wonder if this is what the whole "you will remember where you were on September 26th" thing was all about this 9/11 level (not quite the threshold of 1/6) attack against Europe by the Kalorama Terrorists. The mines were probably planted by the 6th Fleet a few months ago on their underwater drone "training exercise" and the junta was looking for media distraction/cover, which Ian gave them to initiate the demolition. Right now salt water is starting to do its best to make the entire thing unusable. The only other routes are the ones I mentioned before. BTW one of the biggest was through Ukraine. All of them transverse other countries. It's actually a smart play by the Russians. But it's a dangerous one. If Europeans actually grow a set and develop other sources that are sustainable, Russia is screwed. Even if they do develop more lines to China and India, it will be years. In that time the energy markets will probably drop and make that economically unviable. This is ultimately desperation.

YUZHNO-SAHALINSK, September 29. /TASS/. Repairing the ruptures that occurred on the lines of the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines may take more than six months, Pavel Zavalny, who heads the State Duma’s (lower house) Committee on Energy, believes. [...]
"As part of the design of these gas pipelines, the risks of its work being disrupted were factored in, and, accordingly, the possibility of repairs was taken into account. Therefore, the pipe was laid in such a way that would make it possible to hoist it up. This will also take time, technical equipment, cranes, ships, and so on. But, in my opinion, technically it is possible. It may take a long time, it's not a month or two, it's six months or a year, at least," Zavalny explained. https://tass.com/economy/1515185 Posted by: andycanuck (yikp0) at September 29, 2022 08:41 AM (yikp0) 212

Fossil Fuels are bad for the environment, the consumption of which pumps pollution (CO2) in the air, plus they are going to run out soon (trust us), we must transition to 'clean' energy.
Therefore, we must exponentially expand our mining of RARE earth metals, which we will never run out of, using massive amounts of fossil fuels in the mining and shipping. Mostly in 3rd world countries, who won't get any benefit from this 'clean' energy, except a few bucks in compensation for their despoiled environment that they can then use to buy stuff from us 1st world countries. This way, Obama won't have to pay a few million of his hard earned savings to move his mansion on Martha's Vineyard a few yards further inland to avoid the supposedly rising sea levels. The Australian Pipeliner:
The Nord Stream offshore pipeline repair strategy – preparing for contingencies 25 September 2015, 12:00 am The two 48 inch Nord Stream pipelines run 1,224 km from Portovaya Bay, near Vyborg in Russia, almost parallel through the Baltic Sea to a landfall at Greifswald in Germany. The technical characteristics of the pipeline, together with an applied regime of periodic external and internal inspection surveys and certifying authority technical controls, are the basis for safe and controlled operation of the pipeline system. As a preventive measure, Nord Stream has implemented a pipeline integrity management System (PIMS), which defines the company’s approach to mitigating risk and maintaining safe and reliable operational integrity of the pipeline. The offshore repair strategy is a key element of the contingency plans. The Nord Stream repair-preparedness strategy is designed to guarantee a level of preparedness and response capability in the event of an incident. The strategy addresses the bandwidth of potential risks and provides the means to achieve comprehensive repair solutions in a variety of damage scenarios. Also, how steady is the supply of that power? Also, how many birds will be killed by the windfarm vs the much smaller footprint nuke? Also, does the power from a nuke change if the wind is high or low? Hot or cold? Rain or shine? Silly, how much space is the $5 billion windfarm taking up vs the $30 billion nuke? I guess a quick and dirty nuke war would take out our economy and middle class and would make the upcoming election moot, so - this probably sounds like a pretty good solution for the Soros/DAVOS/China crowd. Moscow apartment bombings in 1999...
Russian government involvement theory According to David Satter, Yuri Felshtinsky, Alexander Litvinenko, Vladimir Pribylovsky and Boris Kagarlitsky, the bombings were a successful false flag operation coordinated by the Russian state security services to win public support for a new full-scale war in Chechnya and to bring Putin to power.[204][16][17][18][66][205][19][206][207] Some of them described the bombings as typical "active measures" practised by the KGB in the past. The war in Chechnya boosted Prime Minister and former FSB Director Vladimir Putin's popularity, and brought the pro-war Unity Party to the State Duma and Putin to the presidency within a few months. [...] Criticism In March 2000, Putin dismissed the allegations of FSB involvement in the bombings as "delirious nonsense." "There are no people in the Russian secret services who would be capable of such crime against their own people. The very allegation is immoral," he said.[235] https://tinyurl.com/3yhj5xyx Posted by: andycanuck (yikp0) at September 29, 2022 08:54 AM (yikp0) 281

288 But, honestly, I don't much care who did it, just like I have a hard time worrying about who wins in Ukraine."
The reason it matters who did it, is that whoever did to it is trying to guarantee two things: 1) that economically, the energy crisis in Europe this winter is going to be absolutely devastating to Germany's economy. 2) that militarily, they want Putin pushed into doing major attacks on Ukrainian, and potentially European infrastructure - probably with tactical nuclear weapons. I repeat, someone's military is now actively *trying* to bring these two ends about. And if Putin didn't do this, we can guarantee that he knows who did. If it is our military, then we now know that they are intentionally trying to provoke WW3. Posted by: Tom Servo at September 29, 2022 09:03 AM (r46W7) 316

The Nordstream pipelines can be repaired. There are underwater pipelines all over oceans, sea, bays, rivers. The technology they have nowadays to do repairs or replace entire sections underwater is amazing. They can use commercial divers combined with hyperbaric "habitats" that set down over the pipe. They can even do repairs remotely without sending divers down. Depends on the type of pipe, type of repair. As I pointed out last night there are drilling rigs that have pipelines that run all the way to shore from drilling rigs/platforms. Underwater pipe repair is nothing new.

How extensive is the damage, how long is the section of damaged pipe? I thought I read a comment here yesterday that said there was pics of the pipe? Doesn't matter if you go to a trade site that deals with underwater pipeline repair, if they do not have all the pertinent info, then they're just spitballing.

We can rag on him all we want but with every aspect of our nation going up in flames as a result of the policies inflicted on us by those who installed The Big Guy as the front guy, the race to see who gets the prize for most insane is neck and neck.
Its nothing new; it really isn't. But its an epiphany for many here that government works against the people as often here as anywhere else in the world. Historically, its not even that new. The Wilson to FDR era was just as bad, broken up only by Silent Cal. And until Biden gets us started in another Vietnam, instead of simply running away from the 'Stan, he won't eclipse LBJ. I'll grant you, though, whoever pulls his strings are working on it. I'd advise folks to read up on the Great Depression - not just all the folksy stuff about how people survived it, but how Government actively worked to make it worse. There's nothing that says madness quite like burning crops in the fields and leaving livestock for dead rather than process them while people are standing in soup lines. But that's what we did. As mad as all this is, and its the worst I've seen in my fifty year; historically, its nothing new. Posted by: SG at September 29, 2022 09:24 AM (gAzHd) 411

One report (I read, didn't notice the source) said the damage may be permanent, because if the saltwater sits in the pipeline too long the corrosion could be irreversible. I have no idea what the inner liner would be, would have guess some more plastic than metal, but idk.
Posted by: illiniwek at September 29, 2022 09:36 AM (Cus5s) 457
There was a lot of speculation on the pipeline yesterday. Much of it seemed uninformed to me. A pig would require ingress access to the internal pipelines, so that would almost automatically implicate the Russians, which seems unlikely (and also a very big, or many pigs). More likely, to me, a UDT team with sub access to both covertly ingress and egress and haul the significant amount of explosives (it's my understanding a kilometer of pipe was taken out, that's a huge boom). So, who can do that? I'd say it reduces the suspects down to 5 or so nation-states.

Why would Russia blow it up when they control the spigot?
They wouldn't. Even if they don't want to sell to Europe - and as long as they have other buyers they really don't - there is no advantage to removing the possibility of selling to Europe. This only benefits those that want a justification for not buying from Russia. It benefits the EU administrators. My bet is Ukraine did it, in collaboration with rogue elements of Polish military.
It is axiomatic that Ukraine, in a fight for its national survival, would be happy to expand the conflict. I think there are probably a good number of Poles in the military establishment who still, really, really want to take some licks at Ivan for historical wrongs, and now see him on the ropes/exposed. I think it's plausible that such elements would have observed Russian operations and are thinking that they could take them in a limited engagement, and would get to do it with limited logistics burden, but on someone else's soil. And if there's significant blowback, they feel the US has to back them because NATO. As cynical as I am, I can't believe that US military/intelligence would be so dumb as to escalate this to a frank act of war. But I can believes the Ukes would do it, and Central/Eastern Europe has a long memory and no fond feelings for Ivan. Posted by: Zek at September 29, 2022 10:39 AM (fsV7e) 487

"One deficiency of the American strategy is the (presumably) unintentional benefit to China, which now gets cheaper Russian energy and has a captive market for its exports." Good God, where does this stupidity come from? The East Siberia oil field is SMALL. The pipeline from it is SMALL. It can handle a fraction of China's energy needs. The transportation infrastructure across Sibera into China is extremely limited. Fixing that would take a decade of dedicated infrastructure construction. NOTHING of the quoted statement is correct.
