From wiki-
Jason and Medea is an oil painting in the Pre-Raphaelite style created by John William Waterhouse in 1907. The painting depicts the Colchian princess, Medea, preparing a magic potion for Jason to enable him to complete the tasks set for him by her father, Aeëtes. Medea's determined facial expression shows a characterization consistent with that of Greek literature, particularly Euripides' tragedy Medea. Jason and Medea-Greek legend. She was an enchantress. He was the leader of the Argonauts. This little blurb-scroll down to "Jason and Medea"-says she went a "little crazy". Killing your kids and murdering the woman Jason wants to marry by giving her a poisoned wedding dress seems a bit beyond "little" crazy:

Something I discovered a few years back -
There are a lot of versions of the events that happened when Jason dumped Medea in favor of his new wife. The famous play that many people are familiar with is the only rendition of the story in which Medea murders their children as part of her revenge. The other versions still have her take revenge. And some versions see some of her children killed in the process of taking revenge. But the play is the only version where her children die by her own hand. Interesting childhood:
When Jason was but a mere infant his uncle envied his throne. He was so envious that he overthrew his own brother and killed all of his nieces and nephew but mistakenly missed Jason. He (Jason) was sent to live with a centaur by the name of Chiron. Chiron raised him into a brave noble hero. Posted by: rhennigantx at September 26, 2022 09:42 AM (BRHaw) 51

@36 Killing your kids and murdering the woman Jason wants to marry by giving her a poisoned wedding dress seems a bit beyond "little" crazy:
---- She turned against her family to help Jason, and was forced to leave with him when he left. Marriage was her reward. And then Jason decided to abandon her for a young pretty thing. Also, as I noted above, murdering her own kids seems to have been an invention of Eurypides. Other versions of the story don't have her do that. No surprise here. I love Pre-Raphaelite art with its mythological subjects, the brilliant use of color, and detail in the clothing and other objects. It is capable of deep, ancestral meaning as well as portraying common moments in life. The style can bring to mind some of the greatest works of literature: Ophelia and the Lady of Chaillot come to mind

The new law, AB 1766 mandates that “by no later than July 1, 2027,” the DMV must “issue a restricted identification card to an eligible applicant who is unable to submit satisfactory proof that their presence in the United States is authorized under federal law if they provide satisfactory proof of identity and California residency, as specified.”
The Cal DMV AUTOMATICALLY registers every new ID to the county in which they live as a voter. The terrifying flesh-eating drug meant for horses that is now hitting the streets of America: 'Tranq dope' Xylazine accounts for a third of OD deaths in Philadelphia - and causes festering wounds when injected - Doctors say xylazine - a muscle relaxant intended for large animals like horses - has been appearing in the illicit drug scene in cities across the US joining fentanyl as one of the primary narcotics used to cut opioids - The drug prolongs the highs felt from heroin, but results in users passing out for hours at a time, while injection points ulcerate and lead to grisly wounds that spread across the body - Some users even report severe soars erupting across their body where they never injected the drug, and many are left disfigured as fingers, arms, feet, legs and toes are forced to be amputated - In Philadelphia - considered to be ground zero for the xylazine crisis - about one-third of all fatal opioid overdoses in 2019 were related to the drug Posted by: SMOD at September 26, 2022 10:28 AM (RHGPo) 210

Wawa started in PA as a dairy, kind of like Turkey Hill. Anyway the food is pretty good (but not as good as it once was) and you can custom order hoagies, meals and coffee drinks in addition to the stuff on the shelves.
That Wawa is for sure gonna close. What a hot mess Philly is. Apparently there's a roller rink near this location and supposedly kids meet up there and often hit that store in big groups after the rink closes I dunno. They got a little rowdy, huh? On the more obvious crime front, twenty shootings in the city over the weekend - plus the CVS in East Goshen (right near West Chester PA) got robbed by a group of armed thugs. The criminals are hitting Chester County now for sure - that's where the money is! Posted by: BlackOrchid at September 26, 2022 10:31 AM (w0NJk) 220

Skatole or 3-methylindole is an organic compound belonging to the indole family. It occurs naturally in the feces of mammals and birds and is the primary contributor to fecal odor.
In low concentrations, it has a flowery smell and is found in several flowers and essential oils, including those of orange blossoms, jasmine, and Ziziphus mauritiana. ----------------------------------- Science proves it is possible for your shit to not smell. Seems most unlikely the newly mobilized personnel will be used in a direct combat role, at least very many of them. Could be some people with recent service and high levels of training/experience who might be useful that way. Much more logical they will be used to replace people in support roles, or to form the basis of new units, which will receive training. Russia's manpower problem is real, and spectacular, such that Strategic Rocket Forces personnel are showing up in armored units in Ukraine. Reportedly of the roughly 900k normal Russian standing army, 200k, much of which was from their border with China was what was deployed against Ukraine. Given the nature of the combat in Ukraine (lots of trench warfare), both sides can make good use of relatively untrained troops for defensive purposes though. Anyone famliar with the key specifics of PA's election "reform"? Massive - massive - fraud has been built into state-wide calculations for decades. Years ago heard a strategy discussion for a state-wide office, one of the top political consultants of that era lead the team, and Philadelphia fraud numbers were just a straightforward campaign strategy consideration. Like weather suppressing Democratic votes, or whether someone would get a union endorsement and support. Just a known issue to factor into your strategy and spending. Amazing.

Red Turban it does seem most logical that BTGs (battalion tactical groups) so far not utilized for the Ukraine operation, which is a lot of them, would be cycled in to replace those that have lost much of their combat capability, while the damaged units would be withdrawn for refit (and some mobilized personnel may figure into that part).
Russia has a serious manpower problem because it had/has a land force too small and not really intended for this kind of operation (leaving aside the overall quality, air, command, and other serious deficiencies). This doesn't mean those problems can't be overcome enough to achieve various objectives. We'll see. Posted by: rhomboid at September 26, 2022 11:03 AM (OTzUX) 347

Willis explained in Bright Green Impossibilities, to hit Net Zero by 2050 the USA would need to add a little over 2GW of 24×7 zero carbon generation capacity every day. Think of this as a brand new nuclear reactor commissioned every day until 2050, to replace the 22 terawatts of average power capacity / 193 Petawatt hours of energy per year provided by fossil fuel.
Even using nuclear reactors this is a wildly implausible target. When you translate this magnitude of nuclear capacity build to solar panels or wind turbines, bearing in mind nuclear power runs 24×7, and wind and solar most definitely do not, the numbers soar into absurdity. "Russian Orthodox patriarch Kirill, a Vladimir Putin crony, declared that Russian men who die for 'Holy Russia' by participating in its genocide in Ukraine will have their sins 'washed away'."
Two years ago, the patriarch of Constantinople recognized the Ukrainian Orthodox Church as an independent national church. Up until then, the church in Ukraine had been a branch of the Russian Orthodox Church. Putin is, it seems a believer in the myth of the Third Rome (which holds that Moscow is now the true seat of Christianity), and this act by the patriarch really lit his fuse. Small wonder that the Patriarch of Moscow is declaring Putin's war to be a holy crusade. Posted by: Nemo at September 26, 2022 12:17 PM (S6ArX) 364
