An "Anti-Disinformation" 501(c)(3) Run by Democrat Strategist Is Offering People $400 to Write Disinformation-Filled Instagram Posts Claiming That Trump Spent "Millions" To Mount An "Insurrection"

A Harvard-educated lawyer who writes publicly about the law was offered $400 to write a "propaganda post" on Instagram.

He was offered this bounty by the "Good Information Foundation."

Apparently they didn't realize that lawyers make too much money to be tempted into a situation that could compromise their license for a mere 400 clams.

Watch. It's just two minutes long.

A slightly longer version is available on the TikTok page. I think that the TikTok webpage -- not the app, you know, but the webpage on which videos can also be viewed -- is safe to click on. I think.

There's a bit more there.

Joel Pollack of Breitbart writes about the alleged "Good Information Foundation."

Read his whole article if you can't watch the video -- he recapitulates the lawyer's claims.

With 89,000 followers, he has begun to build a significant presence. That, he told Breitbart News, seemed to be why he was approached by a 501(c)3 organization called the Good Information Foundation to make a video about Trump and January 6.

The foundation, whose website proclaims that “good information is the lifeblood of democracy," and that it wants "to increase the flow of good, factual information online to counter and rebut the spread of misinformation and disinformation," wanted Moore to create the video about January 6, and to post it on his social media platforms to reach the widest possible audience.

Note that a 501(c)(3) is a non-profit corporation which is purely for the purposes of "education" and is categorically banned from engaging in partisan activity. Obviously, paying people to specifically attack "Trump" and "Trump Republicans" is partisan activity, so this 501(c)(3) is acting illegally and I'm just certain that one of Biden's new 87,000 Revenue Agents is going to investigate the hell out of them for that.

Their website claims:

The Good Information Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2021 to tackle the growing information crisis in America that is undermining social trust, harming public health, and damaging our democracy.

The mission of the Good Information Foundation is to increase the flow of good, factual information online to counter and rebut the spread of misinformation and disinformation. We do this by creating, incubating, funding and lifting up fact-based solutions, voices, programs and initiatives that can be quickly developed, tested and deployed at scale. We are on offense against disinformation.

Except for the disinformation they're paying people to actively sow.

How many people have already accepted this offer? How many Disinformation posts have already been successfully purchased?

Good Information, Inc. was started by a Democrat activist specializing in online propaganda, Tara McGowan, with $65 million in seed money from a few of her closest Dark Money palz.

She is controversial even among members of the leftwing media for, get this, pretending to be a source of unbiased information while actually being a strident Democrat/leftist partisan.

When even the leftwing media objects to you posing as a neutral provider of facts in order to push a not-so-stealth agenda, you've got problems.

A prominent Democratic strategist is planning a new $65 million effort to push progressive local news around the United States as part of an attempt to match the dominance of right-wing media, Recode has learned.

The organization, whose formation hasn't previously been reported, is called the Project for Good Information (PGI). It's being created by Tara McGowan, a Democratic strategist who has spent the last few years at her current organization, Acronym, trying to encourage her party to counter far-right media with liberal content. She has fans among influential Democrats and donors but has also attracted controversy from journalism groups concerned that her advocacy efforts masquerade as unbiased media, as well as from some fellow Democrats who worry that she can push the envelope too far.

McGowan's new group makes clear, though, that some progressives are prepared to double down on her strategy. Her allies say she is one of the few Democrats willing to fight fire with fire. But PGI wants to "restore social trust" in media, and its critics argue ideological outlets only erode that even further and make the information wars even messier.

This time, however, McGowan is attempting to strip away the partisan ties that have dogged her previous journalism plays, including Courier Newsroom, which her new organization will back. The idea, according to people familiar with the new structure, is to continue creating a media ecosystem without the linkages between those outlets and a political organization like Acronym, Courier's current backer. A lingering challenge, though, will be how to position the outlets as nonpartisan given McGowan's background.

"Traditional media is failing. Disinformation is flourishing. It's time for a new kind of media," reads the bold, all-caps text at the beginning of a two-page marketing memo for PGI obtained by Recode.

...

In the run-up to the 2020 election, Acronym [her previous company] also planned to invest $25 million in a progressive news effort called Courier Newsroom, which set up eight different websites with seemingly nonpartisan, homespun names like "UpNorth News" in Wisconsin and "Keystone" in Pennsylvania. The publications routinely featured Democratic candidates in favorable lights, and Courier spent millions to promote the articles in Facebook ads. While Courier websites do note that they are heavily backed by the progressive organization, critics felt the disclosures were insufficient and that the newsrooms functioned more like an arm of the Democratic Party than a traditional publication, further muddying the waters for consumers seeking unbiased information. Acronym has said Courier is "factual and transparently progressive."

The leftwing media is "transparently progressive," too, while pretending to be neutral and unbiased. So I guess she's not doing anything they're not doing.

Oh, and per the National Review -- you'll never guess who's funding this.

Hint: It's anti-semitic to report this.

The Good Information Foundation's website says it is the non-profit arm of Good Information Inc., a public benefit corporation. The corporation launched in October 2021 with the backing of billionaires Reid Hoffman, George Soros, and others, Axios reported at the time.

Liz Sheld of American Greatness points out that the Federal Trade Commission has ruled that "influencers" must disclose if they are being paid to promote the products or messages they're peddling.

REDACTED Lizzy
@StarChamberMaid

Influencers have to disclose they are being paid to promote a product, why don't people have to disclose they are being paid to promote a political message?

FTC Guidelines for Influencers here.

The FTC works to stop deceptive ads, and its Endorsement Guides go into detail about how advertisers and endorsers can stay on the right side of the law.

If you endorse a product through social media, your endorsement message should make it obvious when you have a relationship ("material connection") with the brand. A "material connection" to the brand includes a personal, family, or employment relationship or a financial relationship -- such as the brand paying you or giving you free or discounted products or services.

Telling your followers about these kinds of relationships is important because it helps keep your recommendations honest and truthful, and it allows people to weigh the value of your endorsements.

As an influencer, it's your responsibility to make these disclosures, to be familiar with the Endorsement Guides, and to comply with laws against deceptive ads. Don't rely on others to do it for you.

Raise your hands if you think that the influencers who took the $400 disclosed that they were paid by this leftwing Rat Queen, or if there will be an FTC investigation into the Rat Queen.

Strange, I see no hands raised.

We know that the Rat Queen did not inform the people she was contacting that they should disclose their payments, or else the lawyer would have mentioned that.

Anyone think Soros will be investigated?

If you do, congratulations: You're not only silly, but you're Antisemitic According to Media Definition to boot.

It's just Good Information, you guys!!!

Journalists have been explicitly talking about shedding the mantle of objective reporting for literally years now. They've been talking about how the right is so dangerous that they can't treat Republicans and Democrats the same way, and they have to be adversarial to Republicans because they're so bad.

They've been talking about how the right is so dangerous that they can't treat Republicans and Democrats the same way, and they have to be adversarial to Republicans because they're so bad.

And yet, the next reporter that says this acts like they're the first to propose it in their stupid guild.

They cannot let go of the fiction that they are objective. It's important to maintain contacts and a sense of importance in the larger culture.

However, it's far from working. The public's perception of the media has been crashing for years. The Trump years took the obvious downward trend of the Obama years and crashed things into the gutter.

Information control was news media for decades. It's now social media. News media doesn't really matter all that much in shaping narratives.

You're just not hearing about the 92 year old (except from me) who plays the organ at church or make cookies for everybody, or the 91 year old who was in the Navy during Korea or raised three wonderful daughters and was married for about 60 years. One important thing to remember, is, I think that there are more of the kindly 90 years olds than evil creeps like Soros. Yes, even people who were kindly and good can get dementia, but I bet is you asked you'd find a lot of stories on here of people who still have their healthy and good granpa or father or mother with them.

If we cast our minds back to another era - 2014 - this is *precisely* the issue that gave rise to the event/period/etc. that is now called "GamerGate." It was this, in another form. It was about integrity in industrial journalism and disclosure of potential conflicts of interest. The pivot to all the culture-war stuff was a consequence of escalation by the games press.

But it was about this problem. If you're boffing a game developer, you need to disclose that in your journalism if you're covering his or her games. It's that. That was the crux of the issue, and this is no different. These are undisclosed conflicts of interest. It's slightly worse, in that it is political rather than industrial, but it's not a different problem.

230 What's not reported is this entity was formed in conjunction with the Disinformation Board. You don't create something like this overnight.

Yes. You could make an argument that you do *not* need to disclose if you're covering games in genres and from studios that are not in competition in any way with the genre or studio (or person) you're screwing, but the old rules were to err on the side of disclosure. If you don't, you get shit like GamerGate and this.

I read his memoir "Apropos of Nothing." Good read, the voice you hear in your head is like listening to the narration of one of his movies. Really funny and thoughtful.

It was the time I'd heard his side of the child molestation story and read about how it all actually shook out in court. Like a lot of people, I'd always assumed the worst based on the media. Silly me.

I'm now fairly convinced that the whole thing was a hoax and that Mia Farrow is bat-scat loopy. Cheap shots about him "spending time with other people's kids." Seems to me that the real mistake he made was sticking his dick in crazy.

The midterm elections reek already in four specific ways.

Every single vector the Left used to game the 2020 election (very likely in even earlier elections) are still in place such as ballot harvesting, drop boxes, extended voting periods, mail in ballots, or no voter id. The Democrat media is pushing that the polls are suddenly collapsing from a Republican blowout to a dead heat in November without a single condition changing to warrant that change; this sets up the conditions for the Democrats and media to claim the Democrats had another stunning come from behind election. The ongoing wholesale use of the FBI/DOJ to cripple the Democrats most significant threat, Donald Trump and his political supporters. Which, all leads directly to one salient reason for FJB screeching about Maga Republicans being a threat to democracy: to suppress any discussion about or investigation into the Democrats have another miraculous come from behind election victory.
