Memories of Green Tokyo,

Meteors over Scotland and Ireland. Wait, when they're in the atmosphere, I think you call them meteorx.

You just made the list.

Frolicking.

A sitcom I would watch.

Nutria rats bathing in a public pool. It's cuter than it sounds.

Here's a common rat taking a shower with sudsy soap. It's much cuter than it sounds like, I promise.

Turtle has activated nitro boost.

No monkey gets left behind.

Strange vocalizations from a cat.

Did you see that, ref?!?!

Baby's first ice cream gets mixed reviews.

Magical encounter.

Brah-- Brah! Go dig your own hole, Brah! This one is occupado, Brah!

Milady, your chariot awaits.

This man has his own chariot.

Hugs are better than drugs. Well not better, but cheaper!

I like videos where they introduce a puppy to big dogs, and the puppy is eager to make friends, and the big dogs are afraid of the puppy. Happens every time.

I think the big dogs are thinking, "No way you can prove this puppy is mine."

Sound on. It's all about the sound on this one:

40 We thought Purple Martins would eat our mosquitoes. They will, but not like you'd think. There's plenty of other shit flying around they'll eat.

Mosquitoes are only about 10% or less of Purple Martin's diet and that might be significantly less depending on the environment.

They do make a dent, but not as big as you'd think.

Still...pretty cool birds.

101 Purple Martins, and other nesting swallows are not typically overly aggressive. They're communal. The "martin" houses that you might have seen... largish looking "bird condos" with round holes all over the place are typical in the Midwest.

The birds do eat a lot of bugs. Some that are annoying to people, but most are just opportunity eats. They migrate, depending on where you are they might come to your town from as far away as South America. To eat your bugs.

They typically dive bomb me on my tractor when I'm mowing grass in the late spring/early summer. Literally. They've pulled the Boonie off my head going after bugs.

In a sane and rational world, those clips completely demolish all the Leftist accusations of racism and cruelty about the transport of illegals to Blue enclaves.

My two toms will make these lonely yowls at times. I think they are looking for each other, or are lonely. Just they look at me with the most "What!?" look when I go find them.
My poor toothless calico will make similar noises at three in the morning when she wants to get on the bed for a short spell of togetherness and to go out.
Posted by: Kindltot at September 15, 2022 08:16 PM (xhaym)

The noise that cat was making is close, but not exactly "Calling" behavior that cats, especially elderly ones, do when they are unsure or lonely. I've had success of just calling back calmly and the cat can come and find you with that audio cue.

It sound more like the start of a yowling match between two cats that don't get along and might fight. You get a lot of the deeper threatening noises, then if one doesn't run off it gets higher pitched and louder. If they actually fight it often takes just seconds to make the fur fly.

Maybe if this is a one off. But seeing the reaction of this really minor event while small towns like Eagle Pass are being overrun and Biden has shipped 70 plane loads of illegals to FL since he was installed leads me to believe there will be more. This is a winning strategy.

299 You know liberals are going to monetize this transport of illegal immigrants by DeSantis. Liberals are going to allow immigrants to stay in their summer rental properties out of the goodness of their hearts.....and the new bill by local politicians to pay people peak summer rates for housing them. Or a Non-Profit will cover it, by getting tens of millions in government grants, which will then be laundered to the locals.

Rich liberals are going to start making $4,000 a week for letting a few immigrants stay in their houses during the months they normally make $0 of the property.

304 Salty,
There is no excuse for the problems that scrubbed the two Artemis launch attempts two weeks ago. Those problems should have been discovered during qualification testing and corrected. It was pretty danged frustrating to be sitting waiting in Cape Canaveral hoping to see a launch and knowing from my past that when those problems occurred it was curtains for that day...and trying not to tell the regular peeps around me that they ought as well pack up and leave hours before the expected launch time.

Oh well. I'm not sure if I'll go back for the attempt on the 27th.

Some engineers i talk to say that the problem WAS detected during testing but since different silos don't talk the people who performed the fueling and the people who set the engines didn't have the same info.

I understood it like this - they found they had to decrease fueling pressure so the engine wouldn't leak. The engine guys knew that but the fueling guys didn't. Or something like that.
