NPR: Illegal Aliens in NYC and DC are the Responsibility of the Governors of Texas and Arizona, You Know

Texas Governor Greg Abbott wasn't sending illegals to New York City -- but after Eric Adams accused him of sending them, he's sending them now.

From last week:

Greg Abbott
@GregAbbott_TX

Governor candidate, TX

The 1st bus of migrants has arrived in NYC.

Biden refuses to do his job, so Texas continues to take unprecedented action to secure our border.

NYC is the ideal destination for these migrants.

They can receive the services Mayor Adams has boasted about w/in the sanctuary city.

firstbus.png

This might be TMI but I'm literally hard enough to crack walnuts.

Meanwhile, NPR believes that it's Abbott's and Ducey's job to greet illegal aliens at the borders of DC and NYC, and to have a "plan" for them once they get there.

Isn't that Joe Biden's job?

Isn't that the job of the leftwing mayors of these sanctuary cities?

GOP governors sent buses of migrants to D.C. and NYC -- with no plan for what's next

NPR
@NPR

Texas and Arizona governors continue to send buses full of migrants and refugees to Washington, D.C.'s Union Station, just a few blocks from the Capitol building.

Upon arrival no government officials are there to meet them.

NPR is picking up that complaint from NYC Mayor Eric Adams, who is looking for any excuse to say "stop sending me illegal aliens" without quite saying it.

Here was Eric Adams in October, 2021:

Eric Adams
@ericadamsfornyc

"We should protect our immigrants." Period.

Yes, New York City will remain a sanctuary city under an Adams administration. #EricOnNBC

And now?

horrificaliens.jpg

"Horrific!"

Remember the gasps and outrage when Trump said "they're not sending their best"!

And now -- "Horrific!"

My parody from last week was dead-balls accurate! (Don't comment on old posts or you'll get autobanned.)

NYC Mayor Eric Adams is hopping mad about these "horrific" illegals!

Chron
@chron

"It is unimaginable what the governor of Texas has done."

@GregAbbott_TX's ongoing practice of bussing migrants detained near Texas' southern border to metropolises in other states has touched a new nerve with
@NYCMayor

...

Adams says that more than 4,000 asylum seekers have attempted to seek refuge at the city's homeless shelters since May.

"This is horrific, when you think about what the governor is doing," Adams said while meeting a bus of arriving migrants at the Port Authority bus terminal.

Buh buh... buh what about the poem on the Statute of Liberty, Eric?

That didn't say that immigrants were "horrific"!

newcollossus.png

I guess it did call them "wretched refuse," though.

New Yorkers seem to understand that this is Biden's crisis, not Abbott's or Ducey's:

Meanwhile, Eric Adams has a super-plan for stopping these "horrific" illegals from coming to his formerly sanctuary city: He's going to fill up a bus with obnoxious New York leftwingers to bring them to Texas, to campaign for Robert Francis O'Rourke.

Yeah... Texans will love that.

Is Eric Adams... retarded?

It should be remembered that Biden was covertly flying immigrants all over the country on secret night-flights -- including to New York.

But that was to little town in more conservative areas of upstate New York, not New York City.

So that was okay.

nightflights.jpg

Note that, while Eric Adams is claiming that Governor Abbott's Friendship Buses (that's their new name, tell a friend!) are bad because no one called him in advance to tell him when they're coming -- Joe Biden's secret nightflights were all unannounced, too. The small towns who were the Sudden Beneficiaries of hundreds of New Undocumented Citizens weren't even told they were on the list of this unexpected bounty of new, needy humanity.

That is entirely different, and I'm not being snarky. Those were secret flights with coordination. NGOs on the group to start the illegal aliens into the benefit, school and protection pipelines, assist with settling them into existing neighborhoods, etc. and with a lot of federal support laundered through those NGOs.

What's happening here is quite different - it's just busloads of aliens disgorging into NYC streets and catching the city totally off-guard because they're not used to having to take care of this without the NGOs and the feds running interference and doing it all clandestinely. What's happening now is much more like what happens in the border areas, where the aliens just show up and have to be dealt with. It's much more public and has cornered the politicians in these "sanctuary cities" in a way that the well-managed covert shit isn't and doesn't. It's been a solid move overall.

They generally think that:

- Joe Kent is fascism, racism, and Nazism personified.
- Given how red the district is, Kent will almost certainly win.
- The national Democratic Party should be pouring in millions of dollars to keep Kent from winning.

Whatever "double standard" you claim they hold, they are sure that yours are ten times worse. That's why they need to bracket you off as a "White Supremacist" if you come at it from a completely different way than they do.

Scarborough is calling anybody who doesn't like the FIB's raid on Mar-a-Lago a "fascist". He literally is.

You know because the main thing that fascists have been accused of is hiding classified documents--and being alarmed when armed raids are conducted in an unprecedented fashion (but really because Joe Scarborough is a moron).

I'm pretty sure that the Courts would side with the Biden admin and say that the illegals are entitled to stay in the US until their final determination, and that it's the job of the Federal government to negotiate with foreign governments over issues like receiving illegal migrants. Shipping them to blue states sidesteps all that, with the added bonus of making life a little more difficult for Dem governors and mayors who've pushed for open borders.

The FIB says it seized "numerous" wheel chairs suspected of being used in cruel round-ups of thousands of pre-Americans.

"This unconscionable attack on basic rights is over!" said Garland when he emerged from the basement interrogation rooms at DOJ, dripping with the still-fresh blood of January 6 political prisoners. Garland produced whips from his own collection, which he says he suspects are similar to those used at the border by Abbott during his wild rampages.

No warrant was needed for the search, as America no longer uses warrants.

"Ranked-Choice Voting" is appalling and should be outlawed by the states. RCV removes accountability entirely, makes cheating easier and makes it hard to understand who you're actually voting for. The only winning move with RCV is to refuse to fill out the secondary choices, but not enough people will do that.

The town of Rehoboth was known as a heavily gay town for many years. Still lots of rainbow flags in the area. But the overall southern area of the state (known locally as Lower, Slower Delaware) is very rural and quite conservative. I have quite a few friends who live in the area. Rehoboth is a bit of an outlier. And the locals do not much care for Sleepy Joe - especially when his visits cause even more traffic problems than they already have to endure in the beach areas.

284 A story about NPR: in the late 90's/early 2000's the NPR HQ was in a cute section on the outskirts of Alexandria, VA. The city decided to build a "dayworker shelter" next to the NPR parking lot. These shelters were all the rage w/Dem city leaders in NoVA towns -- the mayor of Herndon was booted by his voters after he tried one of these,

Well, as you would imagine, all the well-connected NPR people were very vocal about feeling unsafe, having to come in close contact with all of these illegals daily. Then they built a huge NPR HQ right in DC.

That got me one of my two kicked-back expense reports. I had a tradition when traveling for work. Most of my travel was to customer sites to solve problems. I travel cheap. Once I solve the problem, though, I let the company treat me to a steak dinner. One of them was at Ruth's Chris. It got kicked back as excessive. I argued that, on average for all days of the trip, I was still well under my per diem for meals. My boss interceded on my behalf and they approved it.

Well, as you would imagine, all the well-connected NPR people were very vocal about feeling unsafe, having to come in close contact with all of these illegals daily. Then they built a huge NPR HQ right in DC.

436 I can see that. Let's say $25 a plate for burgers. This is definitely high, but it's not unheard of. Let's say another $40 for a big plate of wings. That's still another $27.50 for tax, $55 for tip, $5 x 6 for sodas (or whatever number of people), and what, $75 for a rack of ribs?
Posted by: bonhomme at August 10, 2022 03:30 PM (kDGvA)

You are absolutely close! It was ~$80 for the plate of ribs - I think it was $38 for the wings - and $24 a piece for the burgers, the sodas were $8 a piece - we ordered side of orders of fries and onion rings at ~$12 apiece and I think and an appetizer of fish tacos for (well, who knows) - with tip and tax - $275K. I liked the automated monkeys, birds, elephants, what have you (my autistic son wanted to go very badly), but still...jeebus.

Diversity, huh? Has anyone ever read an article describing how a terrific new invention or scientific breakthrough or production savings was only possible because of the unique native insights of a team member from Chihuahua or the Ivory Coast or someplace where whites are a minority?

As in, "Chopadra suggested something that has been done in Shitalaland, and only there, since forever! We white folks had no concept of the technique, because we're all of Northern Europe heritage! It was the breakthrough idea the team needed!"

I'll wait.

Posted by: Miss Issippi at August 10, 2022 03:20 PM (sI15f)

The Rainforest Cafe has been around a long time.

I don't know, maybe 20 or so years ago, they opened one in the area. The kiddos wanted to go and we fell for the hype that it was a kid friendly restaurant that also served good adult type food.

It didn't. Very lame, Chucky Cheese level representation of the "Rainforest". Very bland, highly over priced chow. On the upside, it wasn't cricket loaf or some such thing.
Even the kids were bored and thought the food was meh.
Chalked it up to a lesson learned and never went back.
BONUS! The kiddos never asked to go back.
