Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Under Pressure from Public, Soros DA Alvin Bragg Drops Charges Against Bodega Owner Who Killed Thug In Self-DefenseBut they have served notice: Your "right" to self-defense is paper-thin and contingent on public outrcy. They'll steal it if they can. The DA's office said it had filed a motion in Manhattan Criminal Court to dismiss the case against the 61-year-old bodega worker after a investigation found they couldn't prove the "defendant was not justified in his use of deadly physical force." Bragg and his office had faced widespread backlash after Alba was swiftly charged with fatally stabbing 35-year-old violent ex-con, Austin Simon, who had attacked him inside the bodega on July 1. The decision to drop the second-degree murder charge comes weeks after The Post highlighted Alba's plight, which saw the hard-working bodega clerk initially holed up at Rikers Island on a whopping $250,000 bond. "If it weren't for the NY Post. Mr Alba would still be in jail," said Frank Garcia, chairman of the National Association of Latino state Chambers of Commerce.

It occurs to me that social media censorship and vindictive discrimination could be substantially cured by a law mandating clear disclosure of bias. GoFundMe, Twitter, Google, YouTube, FaceBook, etc., could discriminate under this hypothetical law -- but only if they clearly state, for example, that antifa is permitted to organize on their platforms, but Christian groups are not. They have to be clear about what their biases are. They cannot be vague about it.
Otherwise, the people they discriminate against have a cause of action against them and can sue them for failure to abide by contractual terms (those offered generally to the public). Posted by: Ace at 01:04 PM The problem usually (as in most things) is a matter of money. Most lawyers aren't going to take a case like this on a percentage that ensues for 'winning'. They want to be paid up front. Contingency basis, my ass. Gimme cash. Too thin. Now, if a bunch of these cases *did* win in court, the ambulance chasers would be all aboard. Suing in court is at best a 50/50 proposition, not only because jury pools in blue shit holes will be tainted but because the judiciary itself is seriously in doubt, recent SCOTUS wins notwithstanding.
In any case, blue shit hole tyrants have all but declared any decision that goes against their preferred policy outcomes to be null and void. As I have stated, we are in a zombie-state/in-between state or an interregnum, if you will. Institutions and procedures are still there, but they are completely ignored and abused by those who have a will to power. What comes next is up for grabs. And they will not be denied. The early B-17Es and the B-25s had a remote control belly turret made by Bendix.
The optics would get coated in mud so the gunner would not see anything. Or because of the way it was set-up, you needed to be a pinball wizard to hit anything. So the B-17 got the Sperry turret and after the B-25D, the belly turret was fully phased out. Posted by: Anna Puma at July 19, 2022 12:33 PM (VgjBN) 190

The remote control gun systems in the B-29 and P-61 had different ways of aiming than the Bendix turret.
Basically the gun sight was mounted to an armature that was in front of the gunner's face. The Douglas A-26 Invader did have a periscope for the gunner. Eight congressmen and 85 staffers, or 10.6 staffers per congressman. Is 10 staffers a lot? It seems like a lot to me. I could see maybe half that (personal secretary and a couple of subject matter experts) but 10 seems high given that they're in the legislation-writing and legislation-voting business and not executives managing enterprises.
Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at July 19, 2022 12:28 PM (WWh8n) It depends on the office. 10 is fairly easy to get to. For most offices, you'd have a legislative director, a chief of staff, an office manager, scheduler, legislative aides (the staffers working on legislation), legislative correspondents who basically reply to constituent letters, and staff assistants (front office greeters). The breakdown in numbers of LAs, LCs, and staff assistants varies by office. My take is they all just want more money, they know unions are perceived as positive by fellow members on the left, and this is a way to do it. Currently, each office handles its own budget and can choose independently what to pay each staffer. Unionizing would be a way to force offices to pay a specific salary. New York is becoming an increasingly lawless state. Not only do they not prosecute criminals, they want to take away your right of self-defense. The states unconstitutional response to Bruen has already elicited at least 4 lawsuits, which will be paid for by the taxpayers. They are also seeking to undermine the other anti Second Amendment cases that SCOTUS sent back post-Bruen.
The states Quarantine Act, which allows the state to confine you to your home, or remove you to a "camp", was just ruled unconstitutional- and the Pretend Governor is appealing. Taxes are rising and the money trough coming from the federal government is about to end. That's before you get to illegal immigrants overcrowding and taxing public services, schools and the budget. All while people who pay for it are moving out in droves, and the people replacing them are not paying into the tax coffers. It is a disaster that is about to occur, very soon. Eventually we're probably going to to something like Heinlein's (once again) "Coventry". You fuck up, you get removed from society permanently. Dropped into a giant escape-proof fenced enclosure (like Area 51 in Nevada), and left to your own devices and those of your fellow inmates. No guards (other than ones to shoot anyone trying to escape). No supplies or services (maybe drop in some garden seeds once in a while). You don't want to participate in society? Fine. Anyway, I'm walking down the Las Vegas Strip one evening and am approached by a black hooker asking if I "wanted to party." I believe congressional office budgets are proportional to state size (for senators), in the House not sure, since all districts are roughly the same population. Big population states have enormous personal office staff (Senate). Also, there is committee staff, most of that for the chairman and ranking member.
Back when I was up there it was called "the last plantation", as labor laws basically didn't exist - every position was a patronage/political appointment, in effect, so hire/fire at will. Not a bad system overall, of course, as society has learned to its detriment over the decades. I believe some basic labor law rights were instituted 10-15 years ago. But there's some basis to the idea that the elected members should have maximum discretion, restricting it of course can quickly be politicized. I would love if every person that has been discriminated against purely for holding a position that is not favored by the ruling cabal could sue for 10's or 100's of millions like Sandman did for libel/slander. Tony's Pizza in Lake Charles, LA. Greek family owned. The entire menu is unique in its prep though it's your basic Italian food. They make great hot sandwiches also and have their own sauce in a squeeze bottle you can add to anything and make it better.

The monstrous girlfriend was shrieking that it was only over $3 as criminal boyfriend was bleeding out on the floor, and please help. But it was perfectly all right to send her boyfriend to beat an old man over $3. That's what she knowingly did. The original pretext for the beating was that the bodega worker pulled the bag of chips out her kid's hand. But when the old man decided not to be beaten to death, suddenly it was over $3. If the DA had any legitimate reason for charging the old man, then public sentiment wouldn't have had any effect. By folding to pressure, they've admitted it was bullshit.
