The Morning Report — 7/5/22

newsombitesFL.jpg

Good morning, kids. Tuesday and yet again, a mentally disturbed young man committed mass murder via a gun, this time at a July 4th parade in the tony Chicago suburb of Highland Park, IL. So far, six have been confirmed dead and a number of others wounded. Despite the fact that the state of Illinois has the sixth most stringent anti-Second Amendment laws in the nation, including red flag laws, assault weapons bans and so forth, the junta and its local and state political acolytes as well as all the usual propaganda organs are yet again ramping up the calls to disarm the American citizenry without even the slightest regard for WHY this individual did what he did. The reason for that is simple because the un-indicted co-conspirator in this crime — as well as virtually every other similar mass shooting and dare I say it every act of criminal violence in our inner cities that collectively constitute a body count similar to that of the "War on Terror" every year — is the societal, cultural rot inflicted on us for the past 60 years by the Democrat Party and the plot to transform this country into a socialist totalitarian nightmare.

Funny how whenever a so-called "hate crime" occurs, even if its a mass-shooting such as the horrific slaughter a few years back at a black church in South Carolina, just the opposite happens. The weapon is almost incidental to the motive, even if race was provably incidental. The bromide of black victimhood at the hands if institutional white supremacy trumps that of guns, which if used in a state or municipality where the Second Amendment is pretty much in force as written, is the icing on the cake in the attack on America as founded.

So far, there's still not a lot of details about the deviant in question, but if you got a look at his picture, he bears a striking resemblance to the pierced, tattooed, Krylon-haired Democrat-supported sturmabteilung political street terror group known as Antifa. His hideous pan would fit right in next to that lineup we saw a few years back when the Portland PD had that display of its unmasked Antifa rogue's gallery.

According to reports, the suspect had a YouTube page under the handle “Awake the Rapper.” One video that has raised Twitter users’ eyebrows shows a pencil drawing of a person gunning down a crowd in between a montage of shots featuring the suspect backed by cinematic-like music.

Other documentation of the suspect shows him wearing a Trump flag around his neck, wearing a black hat with FBI embroidered in white, and smoking Camel cigarettes. He can also be seen at a Trump parade, where he was dressed like “Waldo” from the “Where’s Waldo” cartoon book series.

However, a Twitter account using the alleged suspect’s artist name scrolls through what posts he “liked” on the platform — most of which indicate support for arresting Trump supporters who protested the results of the 2020 Presidential Election and rioted at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

I can't find it, but I did see a link yesterday that the perp is indeed linked in some way to Antifa, either as someone who at a minimum supports them on social(ist) media. Highland Park also has a very large Jewish population. If I were a a betting man, given what we do know, I'd say his Twitter, Facebook and other posts are being scrubbed as we speak. Of course the volume will be cranked up to leventy-leven to disarm the citizenry, especially given last week's smackdown of NY's concealed carry restrictions (already being ignored and circumvented by my soon-to-be former state of residence), and as a convenient underscoring of the Left's America-hatred on the very day of it's founding.

Before the usual gang of idiots starts screaming "Uvalde!," the same set of societal ills that drove this nut-burger to open fire in Illinois apply with equal force. And add on top of it, the rank incompetence on top of the political pressure of the Defund the Police movement that created yet another clone of Scott Israel leading a squad of Meal Team 6-ers. The same conditions in Highland Park can be applied in Uvalde as well. Society is to blame. That is, The Great Society and all that came after which culminated in the Hope and Change of Fundamental Transformation.

Guilty as sin. Yet free as a bird.

    Why Not Overturn Obergefell?
  • "The deranged Chief Justice just doesn’t care."

  • Michael Walsh: "Never give up—but never hesitate to change generals when you have to. To equate the fate of our Republic with one man's loss—and, worse, to hold it hostage to his pique—is in absurd and dangerous. Scipio was a better general than Varro. Grant was a better general than McLellan. Ron DeSantis, 43, who has yet to put a foot wrong as governor of the free state of Florida, will be a far better general than Trump, who will be 78 years old in 2024. One geriatric president is enough."

I can guarantee you from my personal experience and conversations with hm that MW is for sure NOT a Never-Trumper. I can disagree with some of his verbiage in his column but I do agree that Trump's time as president has passed, regardless of the crime of 2020.

38 I have mixed feelings about Trump running for the presidency again. On the one hand he's probably got a pretty good shot at it. On the other, I don't see much difference between his first term and another one. In fact, I don't see him being able to roll back some of the deep state's destructive policies with regards to energy. To do so would require agencies responsive to changes in policy and I just don't see that here.

Posted by: Martini Farmer at July 05, 2022 07:45 AM (BFigT)

39 I agree with Michael Walsh in general, though not in particular. Trump wasn't irremediably damaged by Madison Cornbread; to concede that is to concede to the unshakeable dominion of Leftist narratives (and unconsciously to set yourself up for more of the same). The reason for him not to run is that he himself doesn't fundamentally understand how to contend with the Left or their narratives. However well-meaning, hard-working and patriotic the man, this shortcoming is now decisive.

Trump is a brawler but not a warrior -- he is not a cool, ruthless, deliberate, proactive strategist dedicated to defeating the Left. He doesn't think in terms of politics as warfare; he thinks in traditional terms of economic and foreign policy leadership, and of deal-making finesse. In between the lines of this thinking, he operates with good but erratically combative instincts toward his enemies. I'm not sure he sees them as mortal rather than political enemies, or can muster around him Myrmidons who see them for what they are.

This must change. DeSantis at least offers the outlines of the more sophisticated and ruthless warrior we need.

49 Mornin', all! Time to get back to life after staycation. No, I can't afford my favorite road trip-style vacation. Why do you ask?

I completely get the criticism of Trump's age. However, he has got to be the only president that barely aged in office. When you are doing what you know you should do and put your all into it with no holding back, great things can happen. I think DeSantis is awesome and I hope will be President in 2029. But Florida is becoming even more populated and he is likely the only one there that can prevent the locusts from taking over. And I greatly appreciate TX and FL taking the attention of these locusts. (note, fleeing conservatives are NOT the emigres I reference here). It leaves my beloved Missouri in peace, and it would take far fewer people to mess up my home state.

Thanks for the newz, JJ!

Whoever is President Jan 2025, they will need to neuter and gut the various alphabet agencies in DC in order to succeed. I happen to think the only way to do that is to move them out of the district and into red states. Trying to just dissolve them or fire career agency clerks, which is something I think Trump might try, would be stymied by the courts. But the next President's success hinges on chocking off these agencies' unelected power.

117 Saint of the Day
St. Zoe of Rome (d. 286 A.D.) was a noblewoman married to a court official during the reign of Emperor Diocletian. For years she suffered from a condition that left her unable to speak; when she met St. Sebastian she fell at his feet so that he would heal her. St. Sebastian made the Sign of the Cross over her, and from that moment her speech miraculously returned. As she was being healed she had a vision of an angel standing next to St. Sebastian. Her first words were ones of thanks and praise to God, and many witnesses of the miracle were brought to faith in Christ. Zoe and her husband then received baptism at the hands of St. Polycarp along with many others. Of this new group of Christians, St. Zoe was the first to be martyred for her faith. She was greatly devoted to St. Peter the Apostle, and was arrested while praying at his tomb. She was martyred by being hung from a tree by her hair, with a fire lit under her feet. After her death her body was thrown into the Tiber River. She then appeared in a vision to St. Sebastian, who was in prison awaiting his execution, to tell him of her martyrdom and subsequent glory.

Gay marriage was sold on the idea that it would make gay couples more mainstream, and then the whole gay rights thing would CTFD.

But it didn't happen. There were too many people whose entire livelihood was LGBT activism. Instead of closing up shop, places like HRC, P-FLAG, and NGLTF just expanded the alphabet.

I'll buy the stoner part but - I saw an interview of his uncle yesterday with whom the shooter lived. Another uncle lived in the house also. The first one stated the kid was a loner and most always kept to his room. No mention at all of a mother or father being present or involved in the kid's life.

That could be a BS interview though.

Despite rosy pix of the end of voting fraud in FL by some, if you live in a county w a D as your Supervisor of Elections, you can quickly find vote by mail voters that have been dead for several years still listed as active voters. And, the man who replaced Broward County's Snipes is just as fervent a partisan as she. That's why, IMO, RD just replaced the Sec of State, bc he is concerned w fraud, too. 257 The Duck Duck Go algorithm has been doing funny things with AoS lately. Starting maybe two weeks ago, when you searched for the blog the top result in the search results would be to an old/dead 2014 post. The actual blog would appear in a box on the right, which normally looks like a Wikidpedia entry or paid ad.

So many users (if searching as I did, and only a casual or first time visitor) would likely get the impression by clicking on the "top result" of an old/defunct site and just move on.

Today, I put in "Ace Spades HQ" and didn't even get the freaking box! Only the same old/dead link as top result and the next nine being largely irrlevant. Only by searching "Ace of Spades HQ" would I even get the (sneaky) box on the right.

What's next? Will we have to search by "I really, really want to see the current ___ conservative blog in it's current form" to get a decent search result?

And speaking of social media, do I now have to stop posting here in case it comes under the definition of "social media" that straight up totalitarian NYS government now wants to "monitor" for pew pew permit renewals?

That's my initial gut reaction. That's a big enough data set that local access would make it a lot easier and more likely to succeed. The CCP's party congress is this year. A black eye for the ruling faction might be useful. Internal conflict within the ranks is more likely this year than last year, especially with Xi's "dynamic zero" COVID policies, trade sanctions (China's, not ours) and the real estate bubble falling apart brutalizing the industrial economy.

One of the strengths of Trumps governance was his use of economic leverage to achieve MAGA results. We saw that, for example, with his handling of illegal immigration and his stay in Mexico policy. The China tariffs were intended to address supply chain concerns and repatriate jobs and manufacturing to the US. China owns the Biden syndicate and many others including the GOPe. Oriental pop music is so weird and I don't get it. The music videos are usually bright and cheerful (if something of an acid-fueled technicolor nightmare, especially in Korea) and the music's upbeat, though, so it has one up on the desultory and boring music that dominated the pop charts over here for many years.

Putin, Xi Jinping, Castreau, these are names that we can positively associate with national leadership and decisions that they were involved in.

"Biden" is not a name that can reasonably be associated with in like manner. "Take us to your leader" is the same as "Who is your father" in some urban neighborhoods - results in looks of confusion and guesses.

298 Just a data point here; but the OPM data breaches that compromised millions of federal employees personal data happened in 2013 and 2014. Yes I agree, as a matter of predicting the course of litigation. But that's the point of lawfare. Swarm the opposition with so many new "laws" regulations, acts of coordination/intimidation between government and Big Tech, to the point that our few conservative organizations with the time and $ to fight this stuff get overwhelmed. Or the national players just "write off" NY and other blue states, to conserve their resources for purpler states with more winnable battles.

And until rulings are issued, they just take away our rights until ruled otherwise. Then they adopt the narrowist interpretation possible of that ruling, and immediately press equivalent (or worse) in new laws. I can't even read The Declaration anymore without feeling ashamed of how much we put up with now.

Biden obviously has bad genes. I see Trump every couple of days on video and he hasn't missed a step.

VP choices don't influence vote totals in their homes states. I did some basic statistical analysis of every election over the past century, taking into account the VP choice's home state, in 2012, wondering if Paul Ryan would help deliver WI.

It turned out that the movements within those home states were pretty much the same as the regional moves around them. Sometimes they went up slightly for the party in question. Sometimes they went down. There was never any strong statistical relationship, though.

Also, Romney/Ryan lost every home state between them except Utah. They lost MA, MI, and WI.

It has been for a while. It's now running out of steam and about to fail. They smashed down on accelerator for the "liberal world order" after the fall of the USSR. They won. And now it's almost over and about to topple. The COVID stupids, supply chain disruptions, the Russia/Ukraine war and the resulting sanctions have had a profound effect on the "one world integrated system" concept. We now have countries limiting exports and playing kingmaker with exportable surplus in some key areas (wheat in India, cooking oils in Indonesia, etc.), non-USD international trade settlement with Russia and possibly elsewhere in that bloc, debt and forex blowups happening and that will get worse and more.

Their system is set to begin cracking up. Self-interest and nationalism are back and back bigly - and ironically, the "liberal world order" themselves set the stage for the resurgence of a worldview that is incompatible with their vision.

365 Their system is set to begin cracking up. Self-interest and nationalism are back and back bigly - and ironically, the "liberal world order" themselves set the stage for the resurgence of a worldview that is incompatible with their vision.

I'm in a mixed mood. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is looking to hitch up with the BRICS nations, which will satisfy the OCD who want to see the acronym spelled correctly. Doing so is a direct defiance to the WEF aka "Liberal World Order" (who the John Birch Society has been warning us about for sixty years).

I want to see WEF destroyed and the West released from their chains. BRICKS will do it. BRICKS will also destroy the petro dollar and potentially remove the former US from possessing the world reserve currency that allows us to have our unnaturally luxurious and decadent ways, and provides leverage for our wicked leaders. Falling from that economic perch though will indeed throw us all into an FDR level Depression. The people don't have the moral character to survive this time.

The reserve currency cuts both ways, but it has given us an incalculable benefit that will vanish if the dollar-settlement system breaks down. There is a reason why SWIFT was always sacrosanct, and this is it. The Biden administration getting Russia kicked out of SWIFT might actually be a fatal blow to this country. Time will tell, but if multi-currency international settlement becomes the norm, then that dries up a lot of international demand for dollars. That international demand to manage cross-border settlement has allowed us to quarantine a lot of our inflation overseas and sequester it away from the domestic market.

If settlement demand shrinks markedly, those dollars will have to repatriate and then the inflation monster breaks its chains.

Egg Zachary. People would do well to understand that politics is a business like any other. No one is in Washington because they feel a duty to serve. Well, almost no one.

It's about enriching oneself at the pork trough of DC. It's why every politician magically becomes a multimillionaire while making a couple hundred K a year.

Really...the 1/6 thing is an attempt to recreate the Russian Collusion thing, but McCarthy can't publicly support the movements at all because of how politically perilous the whole thing is within the GOP.

They can infer he fueled the insurrection and/or riots, but that's about it. What they can, and have stated they will do is disqualify Trump from appearing on any ballot in the next election.

Without his name pre-printed on a ballot with a check box the only way to vote for Trump would be write-in.

Personally I don't see how that translates to a win. And if Trump did garner a majority of write-in ballots does anyone here think the current administration would accept that as legit?

They didn't blame him much on the collapse that I saw. It came out pretty quickly that the condo association knew in 2018 that there were major problems and they dragged their feet about actually spending the necessary money to fix everything.

DeSantis and the FL legislature called a special session to pass a law requiring regular engineering inspections and maintenance on condos in response.

What a radical idea, why it is almost like asking people that have no legal business being in *this* country to take personal responsibility for their own country first!

514 Here's an idea:

First, we fix the borders problem. Control all entry, period.

Then, we use legal immigration to control who comes in, like every other country in the world does.

Then we continue sending hundreds of billions in aid like we already do.

Posted by: AlaBAMA at July 05, 2022 09:46 AM (mE7cY)

515 The United States owes nothing to foreigners. They are not entitled to enter this country, though they may enter if this country permits it. Their stories or their conditions are not relevant. This country exists, as all countries exist, to defend its own citizens and create an environment where its citizens can survive (and hopefully thrive). A foreigner who breaks our laws should be deported to his native country unless there is some other legal structure in place such as legal permanent residency or the person is no longer a foreigner (is naturalized).

"The border should remain open because it's hard for them and you're a bad person if you object because you just want the foreigners to starve and you're a monster if you think that because only a monster wants people to starve" is an utterly specious argument and it always has been. This country does not have an obligation to them, it has an obligation to its own citizens.

Which is why it does make sense to have Trump in 2024 and then 8 years of Desantis after that.

Because we know that 2025-2028 will be nothing but fighting the left and trying to just right the ship. Just like 2017-March 2020 was for Trump. Let Trump handle that. Then Desantis comes in January of 2029 and gets 8 years, instead of just 4, of pushing through conservative policies after Trump did the cleanup and cleared the way for Desantis.

Also, he was an aspiring rapper, something which Theodore Dalrymple (Dr. Anthony Daniels) believes incites criminality in the listeners (and the performers.)

Words matter to leftists when it goes against their triune dogmas, abortion, homosexuality, euthanasia.

We'll never hear Resident Biden go after the computer gaming industry, having yearly profits of some 6 billion or so, likely a percentage of which finds its way into the pockets of significant legislators and judges.

541 If Trump runs, yes broken glass to vote for him, he needs to choose a VP from either, Penn, Wis, or Mich that can help carry the state.

who would that be?

Posted by: Jonah at July 05, 2022 08:57 AM

I cannot speak to Pennsylvania or Wisconsin, but Michigan does not have any conservatives of any accomplishment here. John James has run for Senate (and lost) twice. That's about it for potential conservatives in this state.

Other than Trump and Desantis, who are conservatives of any accomplishment - in either politics or private sector - who would be even considered as a running mate. For either Trump or Desantis.

People thought Pence was a decent choice in 2016 for Trump and we all have seen how that turned out. Who in the GOP can even be counted on anymore to not turn on conservatives once they get to DC?

Posted by: TheJamesMadison, learning the value of horror with Wes Craven at July 05, 2022 09:17 AM

Ironically, it was the third party vote that gave the 2016 election to Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton. In the 3 deep blue states Trump flipped in 2016 -- WI, PA, MI -- there was very large third party voting. Each of those states were won by Trump by 1% or less.

548 22 years old. Look for a prescription for an SSRI. That alone would not be an explanation, but SSRI use correlates well with rage monster events with men under the age of 25.

Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at July 05, 2022 08:21 AM

I am guessing someone has done this research in the past, but has there been any correlation of the emergence of school shootings and mass shootings like this to the start of drugging up male kids and teens with ADD, ADHD and depression drugs?

And numerous people have mentioned over the years, these mass shootings were not happening pre-1990s, even though teens had regular access to guns during those times for hunting and other activities.

Wondering if the era of drugging up male children and teens is what triggered (no pun intended) the era of mass shootings.

Posted by: Clyde Shelton at July 05, 2022 10:39 AM (Do5/p)

549 Also, with regards to ADD and ADHD meds, which I think are supposed to suppress natural male instincts of "boys will be boys", I am reminded of the Seinfeld line "Serenity now, insanity later."

ADD and ADHD drugs may have kept males docile in short term, but led to bad long-term side effects.

Not that I support Obergfell (I don't), but the argument doesn't hold water. Infertile heterosexual couples and older heterosexual folks, neither of whom could procreate, got married in the afore-times, so the procreation aspect is not the ONLY reason to enter in that CONTRACT.
