Hard to say how economically things will shake out but when my wife and daughters and I went in the mid 80s to visit our exchange student's family north of Paris and then took off on our own through Normandy and the Loire valley, it was surprisingly affordable. It's still my favorite vacation.

It looks incredibly bad. Picard waxing poetic and making emotional statements and decisions in between kung fu fights. The RLM guys played some clips of TNG Picard to show the contrast.

He was a pretty big guy but I did expect to see some blood since he was wearing a grey tracksuit type outfit. I saw blood on the lady that was hit in the foot.

I seem to recall that there a power company in Florida that pushed to get its customers to conserve energy, which they did in spades. So much so that the power company said they had to raise their rates to make up a shortfall in revenue.

Some years ago, before Romney became the Evil Rino, and during the 2012 campaign, somebody made a remark on a late ONT that Bruce Campbell should play Romney in the movie (if he won in 2012).
Then somebody (whose nic I had never seen) said, "Nah, he's taller than me and a lot better looking"
To which my assumption is that Bruce Campbell did lurk here. Or maybe......he still does.

I seem to recall that there a power company in Florida that pushed to get its customers to conserve energy, which they did in spades. So much so that the power company said they had to raise their rates to make up a shortfall in revenue.

Gulf power in the panhandle? I vaguely remember something like that. We lived in the area for three years and honestly, our power bills there weren't horrific. Texas? Yikes. Some months it was like a mortgage payment just to keep your house at 80 degrees.

I have never had a problem with the 30 to 75lber's. We roasted 3 at the MoMe before last and they were great. They are even better if you can trap them and feed them up for 90 days before you process them
Commercial hogs have to supply a lot of meat and that growth gives you those lovely 10lb pork loins.

What's interesting was that some time in the 6th and 7th centuries that area was all above the tides and that site was just a hill. Then almost at once, for some reason, the seas flooded that area over a period of days and created the tidal salt flats there now.

Ben Affleck lets his childishness ruin a near perfect relationship because it turned out the girl was a waaaaaaaay more experienced sexually instead of the semi-virginal lezzie he thought he scored. In AL we have Bellfonte. TVA halted construction about halfway through, then paid to maintain it for over 20 years, then decided to sell it. A company bought it for $200 million with the understanding that they could finish it and operate it. Then TVA changed its mind and said the sale was for salvage only, so now there's a big lawsuit about it.
I just love paying for shit like this.

The cost of a new natgas plant of similar megawattage -- $250 million. The total sunk cost of the failed carbon-free plant?
Over $7 BILLION. Yes, MS electric consumers are covering many of those boondoggle costs.

Finally a guy from Illinois submits a bid for $50M. Dude in charge says $50M? This is outrageous, and 5x more than our lowest bid how can you justify it?. Guy from Illinois says “easy. $20M for me, $20M for you and we hire the guy from TN to build the road for $10M”.
