The Morning Report - 5/19/22

clemenzatransform.jpg

Good morning, kids. Thursday and there are a couple of stories that share the common denominator of Tucker Carlson. First and foremost, and rather surprisingly in a good way is the communiqué from the junta that it has abruptly pulled the plug on this "Disinformation Governance Board" which in reality would have been an actual Ministry of Truth. I suppose having a pop-eyed Poppins as your first "Lady" Haw-Haw crooning show tunes in praise of Josef Goebbels was not the smartest thing to do to win hearts and minds. You'd think they'd've known better, but this is the Democrat-Left. They are living in a bubble inside a delusion wrapped in a brown acid trip where 330 million people think exactly as they do and are grateful for the Ivy League enlightenment and leadership.

Normally I'd say good riddance, but as Momma Sefton always would say "evil never rests." Like an alien chest-burster or radioactive mutant herpes, this thing will come back sooner or later so long as there is a single Leftist anywhere in government who wields sufficient power and influence to make it happen.

“We’re going to need another Nina down the road,” a DHS staffer said anonymously to The Washington Post. “And anyone who takes that position is going to be vulnerable to a disinformation campaign or attack.”

Well, at least for now, it's dead, Jim:

DHS shut the board down Monday and Nina Jankowicz, who was tapped to lead the department, drafted a resignation letter Tuesday, according to The Washington Post. Jankowicz was reportedly pulled into a meeting late Tuesday night, however, with officials giving her the chance to stay on as the department determines whether to move forward with the highly polarized board. Jankowicz formally resigned Wednesday, according to The Washington Post's Taylor Lorenz.

The decision comes as Jankowicz faced extreme backlash for pushing disinformation.

Jankowicz attempted to discredit the Hunter Biden laptop story as a “Trump campaign product” while speaking to ABC News in 2020. During the second presidential debate, Jankowicz posted that President Joe Biden cited “50 former natsec officials and 5 former CIA heads that believe the laptop is a Russian influence op. . . ”

. . . A DHS spokesperson defended Jankowicz in a statement to The Post.

“Nina Jankowicz has been subjected to unjustified and vile personal attacks and physical threats. In congressional hearings and in media interviews, the Secretary has repeatedly defended her as eminently qualified and underscored the importance of the Department’s disinformation work, and he will continue to do so.”

"Excess" Sally herself, get this, claims that the shuttering of her Reichsministerium für Volksaufklärung und Propaganda was due to, get this, "disinformation." She also said she felt threatened. Aww. Tell that to Andy Ngo after a hate-shake to the head or barely escaping a mostly peaceful Antifa mob with mostly peaceful lead pipes and knuckledusters. Bitch.

Psaki-Psircling back to Tucker Carlson, the geschrei over his talking about "replacement theory" being the motivation behind a White Stalinist gunning down 10 blacks in a Buffalo supermarket is a prime example of USDA Prime disinformation. Why? Because a) when you waded through the haystack of incoherent madness and racialism in his manifesto, you found the shiny and sharp needle of truth that confirmed he was a leftist, and b) his mentioning of replacement theory does not discount it just because he was a lunatic. Open borders as a means to replace the native population with another one more willing to comply with the government is happening as we speak and has been happening since 1965.

Many of those who hold such apparently baseless suspicions also adhere to a “great replacement conspiracy theory,” which argues a concerted effort is underway by American elites to use immigration to replace a predominantly white population with a nonwhite one. The chant by Charlottesville demonstrators in 2017 that white Americans would not be replaced was only the tip of a racist iceberg; and Bauder and Pitcavage link this war against being “replaced” to among others Fox News host Tucker Carlson and U.S. Representative Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.). Both have accused Biden and the Democrats of using illegal immigration to establish a permanent Democratic majority. Stefanik, although depicted as a very centrist Republican, delivered a supposedly frightening tirade last year about how “radical Democrats” were engaged in a “permanent election insurrection” by granting amnesty to undocumented immigrants. Bauder and Pitcavage associate such rhetoric not only with the Buffalo shooting but also with white racist violence in Norway, New Zealand, and the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting in 2018. . .

. . . Americans have every right to be steamed over the cynical use of borders kept open to create a permanent Democratic majority. Among the prices being paid for this outrageous, unconstitutional action are the flooding of our country with fentanyl (much of it originating in China) and Central American criminal gangs. The attempt of Biden and his [junta] and their media drones to link these justified complaints to psychopathic mass murderers (mind you, only the white racist not the black racist ones) has left me livid with rage. . .

. . . most irritatingly, the “great replacement” rhetoric in this country arose on the Democratic Left as something to notice and celebrate and is now being opportunistically pinned on everyone to the right of woke Democrats as an indication of their racism for noticing. The Emerging Democratic Majority by John Judis and Ruy Teixeira, first published in 2002, laid out the Democratic blueprint for achieving a permanent Democratic majority by encouraging the arrival of loads of Latin Americans as future Democratic voters. As the country became less white, so this thinking goes, the more the Democrats would benefit. And the faster this could be achieved, the faster the electoral transformation would occur.

This idea went from strategic planning to the later Democratic practice of dumping on white people. On August 12, 2021, Washington Post celebrated “the end of white America,” and its star “conservative” columnist Jennifer Rubin announced “the fabulous news” that white American society was now shrinking. If this does not describe a gaudy celebration of “the Great Replacement,” I’ve no idea what does. While Camus may have warned against this development, the American media and Democratic Party are rejoicing in it nonstop.

Replacement Theory? You're soaking in it!

Meanwhile, in another part of the forest, the words of Tucker Carlson are under assault from his rear, from two of the last people I ever thought would attack him. Well, to be fair, it's not so much an attack as it is a complete disagreement but the subject is so serious, American intervention in Ukraine against Russia, that I did a double take when I read the byline. David Horowitz and Daniel Greenfield.

In April 1941 Germany had conquered all of Europe except England, while its Axis partner Japan had conquered most of Southeast Asia. At this historical moment, the Gallup Company took a poll of Americans on this question: Should America – until then a non-combatant – get involved in the war. 81% of Americans said no. But all that changed with the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7 in that same year. If the United States had not entered World War II, we would have faced a world united under Nazi rule ready to attack us.

It's important to remember this history because ever since George Washington’s farewell warning to “avoid foreign entanglements,” isolationism has been deeply embedded in the American soul. This is a tribute to America’s prosperity, bounteous freedoms, and endless diversions. America is a happy country and the last thing its people want to do is go to war.

So it’s not surprising that there is a movement among conservatives that takes the position that America’s effort to support the resistance to Russian savagery and imperialism in Ukraine is a dangerous distraction and a threat to American security. The leading voice of this movement is not some fringe right-winger but rather Tucker Carlson, arguably the most articulate and courageous defender of the American values, institutions and freedoms which are under attack by the Biden administration, which has belatedly come to the aid of Ukraine - most recently with a $40 billion package of military and humanitarian support.

Tucker and the conservative patriots who have joined him are wrong – wrong in their analyses, wrong in their priorities, and wrong in their opposition to a war that the West, led by the United States, must win.

That's the opening and it went straight downhill from there. Here is my response:

First of all, America declared war on Japan after the attack on Pearl Harbor. It was Schickelgruber, the idiot, who declared war on us three days later. That's the only reason he was ultimately defeated.

Aside from that not non-trivial point you both neglected, it pains me to say this but you are both dead wrong about our getting involved in Ukraine because to do so means going to war not with Grenada, or Iraq but with Russia. The one that has 6,000 nuclear warheads from the size of a suitcase up to MIRVed ICBMs.

Second, you assume America's leadership is competent, rationale and sane when they are not. And that's putting it mildly. The last actual war we fought and won to the bitter end was World War 2. You are encouraging us to get involved in another land war in Asia where the only beneficiaries will be defense contractors, K-Street and Congress-critters who are owned by it, and casket manufacturers. Then again, abject fools like Lindsay Graham and others are itching for regime change in the Kremlin and fantasizing about Putin getting assassinated. Madness.

Third, and I'm shocked that David Horowitz as a former 60s radical and Red Diaper baby of all people doesn't see this. The loudest voices calling for war are the Leftists who 50 years ago demanded an end to American involvement in Vietnam - a war pimped by LBJ and the arms makers as necessary to prevent the domino effect, much the same as you both are warning about Russia and its neighbors including the continental US.

In your defense and to play devil's advocate, perhaps it might be acceptable to give arms and aid in the form of food and medical equipment to the Ukrainians - and considering the shortages of food and fuel here in the US, maybe not, but I digress. But to openly boast of helping them shoot down military transports and sink warships is manifestly irresponsible. And I would bet my bottom dollar - getting more worthless by the minute with stagflation - that our troops are already on the ground there and engaging in direct combat sans a declaration of war in Congress.

And speaking of direct combat, look who's running our Defense Department - Obama lackeys put there to degrade our combat readiness and morale, while defining the two greatest threats to American national security as "climate change" and Republican voters. I'm sure the 101st Airborne Tranny Division is going to give 'em hell, right?

You both are worried about emboldening Xi, when in fact Xi and his agents are all over this country already in academia, the government (Feinstein's chauffeur, eg) and worst of all our military and scientific research labs. They own us already. And Ukraine is not Churchill's Britain and Zelensky is no Churchill. It's arguably the most corrupt nation on the planet. President Sponge Brain Soils Pants wants Ukraine to win in order to cover up his shady deals with Burisma and other things, as well as a wag-the-dog scenario to distract the public from the disaster of the past 16 months. As if.

And ask yourself this; why are some of the staunchest defenders of Ukraine people like George Soros, Klaus Schwab and Laurence Fink - the Great Global Reset Gang? That alone sends up alarm bells all over the place.

Putin is a thug, plain and simple. Invading Ukraine was beyond the pale. But all things considered, Tucker Carlson is absolutely right. Given the state of our nation right now and who and what is running it, we have ZERO business getting involved in a war against Russia. It is not in our national security interest, period.

It pains me to write this and I hope it's the first and last time, but you both are dead wrong.

On a completely different note, as polling as well as turnout at the primaries is confirming that the Democrats are heading for at least losing control of Congress and at worst an electoral wipeout of historic proportions come November, What's the Junta to do? Yup, you guessed it.

[Chinese] COVID-19 cases are once again on the rise in the United States, prompting some government officials to begin sounding the alarm that masks may need to make a comeback. The White House held its first [Chinese] COVID-19 response briefing in nearly two months Wednesday, the first for new response coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha, a longtime proponent of restrictions.
Jha said if the Biden [junta] does not get its requested $22 billion in new [Chinese] COVID-19 funding from Congress, there won’t be enough vaccines and treatments to go around this fall. Monday, the Biden [junta] opted not to end the ongoing public health emergency in place for the pandemic, which had been set to expire July 15.

Jha, along with other top public health officials, noted that one-third of Americans now live in areas deemed “high-risk,” meaning they should now wear masks in indoor settings, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). That’s a substantial increase from when the CDC initially revised its risk assessment system, when just five percent of Americans lived in so-called high-risk areas.

"High risk areas," meaning those places where the Democrats know they're going to get wiped out at the polls this November. That is, everywhere. QED.

8 People I pay attention to disagree on what happened in PA, this is one theory that is supported by the results. It's not the only theory, so YMMV.

Barnette never had a path to victory. McCormack's polling team realized that Barnette was pulling from the same voter pool as Oz, so exploited it.

In the last 2 weeks of the race, a lot of GOPe support started pushing Barnette, especially Club for Growth (Toomey used to run CFG). They never wanted her to win, they want McCormack.

Not saying Barnette was complicit in this, just that her situation was exploited.

Also seeing disagreement on the Gov race. Some think Marciano (sp?) can have a crushing victory because of his populist appeal. Others view the race as a tossup because Shapiro knows how to cheat in PA better than anyone because he's the current SoS.

I'm going to be watching the polling in this race closely because it will be very indicative of the whether this will be a wave election or not. If PA ever wants to clean up their election system, they better turn out for Marciano. He's the best chance they are going to have in a generation.

17 Democrats are going into campaign mode. The reason their Ministry of Truth shot down is because numerous Democrats complained they were facing the tough re-elections and it would be an issue. No worries. It will be back after the election. Also coming back are COVID restrictions. Democrats need that issue for the mail in ballot. You can already see they are ramping it up with some places bringing back masks.

Expect to see a lot of camouflage before the election.

18 I'm okay with supporting Ukraine and sending them money, we do it for many countries, I'd just want it to come with oversite since $30billion of that is going to go into the pockets of politicians and their friends. With it Dems should also have to admit that this is 100% their fault, especially when Obama turned his back on Poland and renegged on the missile system Bush promised them, all so he can bow down to Iran.

I've said it before, i want our next VP to be a CPA and his entire 4 years is auditing every penny spent since 2000 and getting back everything laundered by our politicians (and then getting them jailed and their families bankrupted)

They don't realize that the ministry of truth wasn't going to ever be a campaign issue,, because the Republicans need to run 100% on the slogan "Democrats: We either want to abort you baby, or diddle it"

At every debate the Republican needs to ask their opponent "how late is too late to have an abortion?" And "Do you agree 5 year old should learn about sex, masturbation and changing their gender, like your party elders are demanding?"

How very typically governmental. They voted to give the morons who are in no small part responsible for the problem a bunch of extra money to keep doing what they do.

60 As with so many Democrat smears, calling Replacement Theory a "right wing conspiracy theory" is one of those things that really plays on normal people's emotions and beliefs, jumping straight past their logical brains.

It "feels wrong" to think that American politicians actively want to destabilize our Republican form of government and replace the (arguably) most successful, free culture in world history with 2nd (or 3rd) world tyranny. So when someone says, "Oh, no, no one is doing that" most norms will think "Shew. Good. I was concerned there for a minute," and not, "Well, then, why *are* we letting millions of illegal aliens into the country?"

61 The White House often waves away inconvenient stories as misinformation, a move that bolsters social media platforms’ efforts to censor the stories.

--

Isn't that the whole point? The whole point and purpose of the "disinformation" buzzword and the overall goal of the Disinformation Governance Board? Of course it is. Sure, the feds won't literally deny you your free speech rights outright. They will simply apply enormous pressure to social media companies to silence you while their hands remain clean. And we all know enormous pressure wouldn't even be needed, since censorship is already happening at breakneck pace. This just gives it a sly seal of approval.

62 Second, you assume America's leadership is competent, rationale and sane when they are not. And that's putting it mildly.

Excellent point, and it leads directly to another, unsaid point: Our information on Ukraine is totally corrupted, but what we do know is that the basis of U.S.-Ukraine relations is money flowing in massive taxpayer aid over the years and flowing in payments back to American politicians, most prominently, the Biden family.

Moreover, we know Russia was right in Syria, the last place Democrats wanted to have a Russia proxy war, and the Obama cabal was wrong, partnering us with al Qaeda and ISIS to fight against the Alawites.

So, the Biden history is corrupt, Democrat foreign policy is historically misguided, and our ability to render judgement is based on facts we cannot trust.

Well, that's where it starts, anyway.

The Feds label any talk that doesn't line up with the Uniparty's interests as "Disinformation" and the social media companies (who wanted to ban it anyway) jump to start silencing that viewpoint.

Eventually, the viewpoint that starts getting silenced is the idea that we should even have free speech. If "words are violence," then the Government *should* have authority over what you write or say - because the Government a) has a monopoly on violence (ish) and b) is supposed to protect my rights - which means protecting me from violence or punishing you when you commit violence.

THAT's when the final shift will come.

85 69 An old school zip gun, as long as reasonably configured as a firearm (grip, trigger) would be OK under this insanity and not require serialization. Somebody doing a $2K build for PPC or three gun competition, using an 80% lower had better have a serial number. Grandfathered builds might not happen, as BATF already has assignment of serial numbers on the books. This is to be used for historically significant firearms with defaced numbers, but like anything BATF could be stretched. And then you're on a federal registry.

86 Roe is about abortion

Roe is about abortion in the same way that a salad is about lettuce.

Abortion was just the excuse - just the delivery mechanism.

The point of the Roe v Casey decision was that the Federal Government can do whatever it wants, and the Constitution does not actually limit Government in any way. As long as someone can come up with any lame excuse for why an "emanation" or "penumbra" of something that is written in the Constitution, the Court could sign off on it making it de-facto Constitutional.

Thus overturning Roe is something the left fears more than almost any other outcome. Their entire power grab is based on Roe.

Ironically, the best way to have stopped this would have been a massive press at the United Nations. Trump's America would have been in excellent position to guarantee global wheat harvests while keeping oil costs down. And at that point sanctions would have had a serious effect on Russia. By contrast, $40 billion for Ukraine sounds impressive, but just throwing money at them won't get them a major-tier military. Especially not with their soldiers being killed or captured throughout the country.

The economic war was the best way to weaken Russia while keeping the gunpowder dry for China. It's been so badly mismanaged one could reasonably expect CCP involvement.

Ending big Washington spending packages helps, and thank you Joe Manchin. But harder money is only achievable by increasing the flow of oil and NatGas (in our present situation).

Electing a Republican Congress, even a RINO one, will almost instantly mean better energy production, and inflation will come down.

118 Conservatism has failed utterly to conserve the basic principles that made us the most successful country on earth. There is nothing left to conserve. Time for a revival. Time to go on offense.

--

I'd believe in a revival, a restoration, a revolution of sorts to reclaim what was once ours, were it not for the levers being solidified into place as we speak. We're being systematically crushed, silenced, even jailed for our beliefs, as the federal gov't takes over more and more centralized power. And the landscape in DC doesn't fill me with hope because nary a single soul (ok, to be fair there's probably 2 or 3) is willing to stop any of this. McConnell and McCarthy's silence at what has transpired since Noodle Brain stole the presidency, and all the havoc he's inflicted, is very disheartening, if not unsurprising. As Vic is fond of saying, "we have no party." It's all quite precarious. I tend to be pessimistic, so ymmv. I'm still trying to find the ray of light, and just hang on to that hoping we'll get out of this somehow.

127 With 8.3 percent inflation in April, people now must spend $108.30 to buy the same food, clothing, day care, electronics, and other day-to-day needs that cost $100 a year ago.
++++
I have come to expect better from City Journal. This is in the opening paragraph, and it's embarrassing. The All Items category was 8.3%. Food was 9.4%. Energy was a whopping 30.3%.

So no, Nicole, according to the CPI, people will *not* spend $108.30 to buy last year's $100 worth of food, they will spend $109.40. But even worse is the "Food at Home" category, which is 10.76%, meaning you have to spend $110.76 if you buy groceries. And even then, it masks the problem in protein, because meat, fish and eggs moved up 14.34% and dairy moved up 9.06% Apparel moved up 5.4%, so it takes $105.40 to buy the clothes - a relative bargain.

In an article about the problems with inflation from a magazine that does long-form thinkpieces, this is a tremendously disappointing way to open the essay. Why should I bother finishing it?

131 I think that's the plan. It's why they're actively cancelling oil and gas leases as gas tops $5/gallon.

To what end? Even the junta has to realize that it's the people at the top who get the axe first when a country goes to hell. And that forgets that pretty well all of middle America is conservative and armed.

The places that would be "hardest hit" would be the Democrat power bases - cities. Out here in the hinterlands, we'll be okay. It won't be *nice.* It won't be *comfortable*, but we'll have food on the table.

It's those folks in the cities who are going to run out of food in (on average) 3 days...

***
Sure, why shouldn't corporations be "ethically" allowed to shame and pressure vaccine resistors?

After all, the CDC has been so transparent and "ethical" and accountable and accurate in all its assurances to the public about the vaccine, right?

The CDC told everybody the vaccine was "completely safe" (except for those tens of thousands of deaths and serious injuries it caused, but the CDC ignored those because . . . shut up).

And the CDC mocked and ridiculed those who said the vaccine might be able to change people's DNA. But then it turned out that those people were right, as shown by the experiments exposing human liver cells to the vaccine, where the vaccine was able to penetrate the cell nucleus and change the DNA within mere hours.

So why not shame the people who don't want to risk their lives and their health by trusting the lying, incompetent, corrupt CDC and taking an experimental genetic therapy that may help them (or not) avoid a virus that likely won't do them any serious harm?

This may be right, or not, I don't know, but what is definitely true is that voting now takes place over such a long period of time that late-surging candidates are always going to be at a strong voting disadvantage, no matter their polling strength as election day actually happens.

Kathy Barnette needed to be a strong, viable choice a lot earlier in time than she was, for her to win. But I bet she did very well in votes actually cast on election day, or the week prior.

Having an "election day" again, instead of a four month voting period, or whatever it was, would help.

I've got no problem letting them feel the pain. The problem is that (especially Walmart) really sort of *is* the economy in a lot of places. Sure, there are other stores (our town has 2 grocery stores: Brookshires and Walmart) and such, but they employ a lot of people, their prices are generally better (which is important when you're on a limited budget), and they've put so many local shops out of business that it's hard to find things outside of Walmart without a 1+ hour trip to the nearest city.

If Walmart starts hurting too badly, that's going to cause a lot of pain for a lot of people. And that's just the start of the chain reaction.

The study -- Testosterone Administration Induces A Red Shift in Democrats -- was published on November 14th, 2021 by Professor Paul Zak, the Director of the Center for Neuroeconomics Studies at Claremont Graduate University.

"His research has made a substantial impact in explaining the variation in human social behaviors and has been cited by other scholars over 18,000 times placing in the top 0.3% of all scholars," explains his professional biography.

Zak's latest findings reveal a link between testosterone levels and political preference through analyzing 136 voting-age males throughout the 2012 election season.

271 The fatal flaw of those who attack anyone who opposes US involvement in Ukraine is that opposition to this does not make one "isolationist." We oppose THIS intervention, not all interventions or even most. Just the ones that have no bearing on our national security.
Posted by: J.J. Sefton at May 19, 2022 08:46 AM (s2VJv)

The point is that America wasn't isolationist in the 20's or 30's. Most Americans simply did not want tied into another European war. We were active in working with other countries. We simply weren't looking to get into another war. That was unacceptable to the neocon equivalent back then and to the neocons today.

These are the modern version of hip yuppies going to their expensive restaurant with gas lamps while drug-addled violent lunatics roam outside and don't make any note of it until it literally bursts in through the wall.

This is third-world shit. The thing about third-world cities is that they look gleaming and nice from afar, but then you get close and realize that it only looks like that way from the third floor up because the nice buildings are islands of wealth in a sea of poverty, with no middle class whatsoever. Major American cities are increasingly third-world, and Portland and San Francisco are key examples.

431 Late to the party, JJ -- hope you see this.

That was a scorching takedown of Horowitz & Greenfield. Well done!

432 Uhmmm...how izzit that no one has mentioned how much the Disinformation Tzar looks like Quentin Tarantino wearing red lipstick?

433 "The leading voice of this movement is not some fringe right-winger but rather Tucker Carlson, arguably the most articulate and courageous defender of the American values, institutions and freedoms which are under attack by the Biden administration"

Ehhh Tucker has a serious problem of inviting guests that are vile twats in regards to this particular issue, regardless of whether we should have more or less intervention. He's not an idiot so I think someone called in a big favor, potentially to the point of expending him as a useful talking head. Not as bad as Jones having Dugin on, but still embarrassing.

436 I didn't read the Horowitz and Greenfield piece. Do they go the whole time failing to mention just who the Nazi army was fighting in December 1941, and how it all turned out?

437 Levin, Greenfield, Horowitz, all pushing another war.

Do they own a majority of Raytheon? United Technologies? Boeing?

Curious minds want to know.

438 If banks are really "lining up" then it's collusion to close a segment of the market. And the anti-trust people should be hanging a few of them pour encourager les autres.
