The Saturday Night Joke

A golfer was involved in a terrible car crash and was rushed to the hospital. Just before he was put under, the surgeon popped in to see him.

"I have some good news and some bad news," says the surgeon. "The bad news is that I have to remove your right arm!"

"Oh God no!" cries the man "My golfing is over! Please Doc, what's the good news?"

"The good news is, I have another one to replace it with, but it's a woman's arm and I'll need your permission before I go ahead with the transplant."

"Go for it, doc," says the man, "as long as I can play golf again."

The operation went well and a year later the man was out on the golf course when he bumped into the surgeon.

"Hi, how's the new arm?" asks the surgeon. "Just great," says the businessman. "I'm playing the best golf ever. My new arm has a much finer touch, and my putting has really improved."

"That's great," said the surgeon.

"Not only that," continued the golfer, "my handwriting has improved, I've learned how to sew my own clothes and I've even taken up painting landscapes in watercolors."

"That's unbelievable!" said the surgeon, "I'm so glad to hear the transplant was such a great success. Are you having any side effects?"

"Well, just two, said the golfer, "I have trouble parallel parking and every time I get an erection, I get a headache."

LOO ROW Parents outraged as high school REMOVES toilet doors to create ‘gender neutral bathrooms & ease anxiety’

PARENTS have been left outraged after a high school removed toilet doors to create "non gendered" bathrooms in a bid to "ease anxiety".

They were sent a letter by Golden Grove High School in Adelaide, Australia, informing them of the changes to the facilities.

Somethings should remain private.

A Secret Service agent assigned to President Joe Biden’s Asia trip allegedly drunkenly assaulted a South Korean. The agent, along with a fellow colleague, are being sent back to the US.

One of the agents was arrested early Thursday after getting into an altercation over a taxi, according to a Yonghan district police official.

However, a US official said the agent was ‘investigated’ by South Korean authorities and would not confirm that the agent was arrested or detained. The other Secret Service agent was not investigated for wrongdoing, the official said.

56 Well, the next public health gaslighting is well underway!

Israel has just had its first monkeypox case, and is expecting more.

From the Times of Israel:

Medical experts on the LGBTQ community took part in the [Israeli] Center for Disease Control committee meeting. The World Health Organization has said it is investigating the fact that many cases reported in other countries were people identifying as gay or bisexual. The Israeli experts urged avoiding the subject so the disease would not be stigmatized.

So, of course, in New York, which has a suspected monkeypox case:

An NYC patient has tested positive for the same genus virus as monkeypox sparking calls from the health department for residents to wear masks indoors - just as New Yorkers were finally returning to mask-free normalcy after COVID-19.

Because pointing out that your chances of getting monkeypox are infinitesimal if you're not engaging in gay sex is "stigmatizing", we're going to reimpose mask requirements on everyone instead.

84 When the FNM was arguing that everyone was going to gets AIDS eventually they also argued you could not forcibly quarantine people or make them take medical treatment because that would be a violation of their rights.

And that lasted through the Ebola scare (well scare in the US not Africa) where the FNM and the Obama administration argued they had no power to do anything about people with Ebola flying or mingling with others.

Oprah (with help from Jim Carrey) created the modern anti-vaxx movement by hosting that British fraudster that claimed his researched showed traditional vaccines caused autism.

And the FNM/Medical establishment spent years politely looking into the issue. And then as you point out the HPV vaccine came out and suddenly being opposed to it was NOT OK...but even by the time Fauci's friends rolled out the clot shot being anti-vaxx was traditionally a Karen McWinemom thing.

Again, the whiplash on all this is amazing.

I've never known any dudes to have those sorts of problems. Women, yep. And it can backfire. My wife and I stayed at a bed & breakfast somewhere in Virginia, a small place, but it had a little fountain outside the bedroom where we stayed. A little garden and fountain. My wife thought it was so charming. We get back and go to bed. Drip, drip, drip, sprinkle, splash, all night. Didn't bother me. I swear she got up a hundred times that night to go to the restroom. We only stayed one night.

I'll be seeing #1 son tomorrow at a graduation party. I'll ask him -- if I remember -- if he knows if Quick Draw was vaccinated and boosted.

Funny story about Quick Draw. Both he and my son were working at different restaurants as head cooks when my son got married. Quick Draw's wedding present was a suckling pig. He and my son roasted the piglet at Quick Draw's restaurant oven after hours. Both of them were pretty soused by the time the pig was ready. They served the damn thing whole, and perched a pair of sunglasses on the thing to hide its lack of eyes. Thank God, neither my mother nor my mother-in-law got close enough to see the pig in all its sunglasses glory. And, yes, I have pictures.

That accusation read right out of the playbook they tried for Trump. It wasn't the supposed victim coming forth. It was the victims friend. And they can't say or do more but want others to come forward. So it reads like a fake story trying to fish out other women that maybe slept with him or he hit on to come out and claim sexual harassment.

I think the #metoo thing along the accusations of racism at Tesla made him go, "OK, we're going scorched earth out of the gate." 288 along the accusations of racism at Tesla

Matt Taibbi had a three part series about the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, which is behind a number of these recent accusations, including the one at Tesla. Their strategy is:

1) Come up with some outrageous charges
2) Leak the charges to the media
3) Demand a huge amount to "settle" the charges

Their best one was their investigation of the gaming company Activision for sexual harassment, where their media minons breathlessly reported that at an Activision company event there were scantily clad women dancing on "stripper poles".

Turned out that it was a Cirque du Soleil performance.

The response of companies subjected to these tactics is generally to move out of California - DFEH denounced Tesla's moving its headquarters to Texas, saying that they were trying to "avoid accountability".

Yuma is like that, though. Its a mix of the two types of illegals. That makes the situation more screwed up for law enforcement as they won't initially know which type they are dealing with. The CFPB had this scheme worked out to a tee. Sometimes it was more of a shakedown, but it was usually just money laundering for the companies who wanted to pay clean, unquestionable bribes to the Democrats.

1.) Use arbitrary and capricious regulatory power to publicly """investigate""" Democrat Bribing Firm Y for Ginned Up Charge X.

2.) Levy enormous penalty A.

3.) Give Firm Y an """option""" to pay .5A to Democrat Affiliated Nonprofit B instead - for the greater good.

So a 100 million dollar fine is cleaned into an unprovable 50 million dollar bribe, while the board of the company talks about their fiduciary responsibility and their social equity through their shiteating smirks. Beautiful. Perfect scam.

Former Republican (and former Marine) Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard is in town for the Indianapolis 500. Ballard told I-Team on Friday that he’s raising a red flag for Republican state lawmakers, telling them to let Governor Holcomb’s veto stand on the bill about transgender athletes. The bill would prohibit transgender girls from playing in school-sponsored sports. Holcomb vetoed it in March, but lawmakers will meet next week to try to override that.

In 2015, Ballard pushed back on state lawmakers over the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, as did thousands of other Hoosiers. Opponents said the bill targeted LGBT people. Supporters claimed the RFRA law protected the exercise of freedom of religion and freedom of conscience.

The widespread protests, led by major Indiana employers, caused then-Gov. Mike Pence and lawmakers to amend the RFRA law 10 days after it had passed.

Ballard said Friday that the transgender bill, like RFRA, will divide the state and could make it difficult to recruit new businesses to Indiana.

Just reading some more about the grid. We're gonna have rolling blackouts this summer for up to half of the country. The Midwest region is in the most trouble. Normal summer demand will exceed capacity. In the West, any higher than expected demand will exceed capacity. In the East, we're good (but not for long).

They like to blame climate change with heat waves and drought for this, but nope, they didn't plan for expected conditions. They've been pushing green shit, and let generation capacity actually decline. They're reaping the whirlwind.

This country is in some serious trouble. Economic collapse and energy shortages.

I stayed at one of those in Maine one year. Oh yeah, I totally see where Stephen King gets his inspiration from. We called it Motel Hell. We walked in, there was a sitting/reading room to the left. Two ancient dudes sitting at a small table playing checkers. I assumed they were mummified, because in the next 5 minutes they didn't move a hair. There was a bell on the front desk that you had to ring, the kind you had to shake. A seriously old women comes out, we check in, and she hands me an ancient skeleton key to our room which was decorated in a style that can best be described as "lit Lizzy Borden". We split at the crack of dawn.

409 Farmer - Yup, I have three silver nickels. I also collect copper pennies.

The pre-1982 ones? Yep, still worth about 3 cents each.
Also, Fuck Joe Biden.

Holee fuck, TY G for almost giving me a heart attack while laughing so hard at that.

410 Many moons ago, my ex and I stayed one night at a bed and breakfast plantation house in southern Louisiana. There were ghosts. Also, no toilets in the bedrooms, just a common one (for I don't remember how many bedrooms) 'down the hall and to the left'. The cheese grits at breakfast were good, though.

411 Found 23 pre-1982 pennies, including a few from the 50's. The stuff from my childhood I should've kept....

412 It doesn't matter if it's incompetence or actual malice now, the results are the same. It's sort of like "depraved heart" murder, 2nd degree they call it in some states. When you're that incompetent, it might as well be intentional.
Posted by: publius, Rascally Rapscallion

Intentional conduct + reckless disregard for the expected consequences = potential liability for punitive damages. We don't need to know your actual state of mind because the objective manifestations are bad enough.

413 Ass pennies...lol

414 I have several lovely pennies from prewar (WWII) era. My dad has a whole penny book full of them. Buffalo nickels, too. After all, he was old. His "bottom dollar," given to him by his dad, was a silver dollar that had worn so smooth in his pocket over the course of 80 years that you couldn't tell what it was, but he pulled it out and spun it for the grandkids. I used to love going through the pocket change that built up and finding the ones we were missing. Now the boy does it with me, but we don't find as many cool ones as we used to.

416 Oldest penny I ever got in change: 1899. It wasn't in the best shape, but could that really have been in circulation for that long?

417 405 Thankfully, I'm on a protected grid power-wise with PG&E so I'm exempt from rotating power outages. Doesn't exempt me from incompetence-based outages..., but I'll take what I can get.

Yup, places that will NOT have brownouts.

Bay Area. Sacramento. LA... places that WILL have brownouts? the rest of the state... you know... not where the Politicians live.

418 Spent a lovely day at the land in Willow, clearing a bunch of crappy brush and making a good place to park the camper. It was hotter than hell up there, nearly 73 degrees, which up here is hot and if you haven't been, you probably wouldn't think so. Sweated my ass off, hopefully literally, hauling brush to a burn pile that we can't burn because of the early season restrictions. We'll wait until it rains and the brush gets dryer, I suppose. DH forgot the crank handle for the levelers, so I guess we will move the camper next weekend, since it is a long one. We should be in heaven up there after that, with the camper set, and fire pit dug. Next stop: a real outhouse, instead of the luggable loo and little tent. Luxury. McKinley was out in full glory today, too. Not the worst view in the world.

DH will rent a Bobcat and clear a road and then smooth out a nice place for a deck.... mmm... plans.

So cool that you share that. I recently got a Canadian QEII 1995 penny in N IL. I'm going to pass it on for fun.

428 Speaking of elephants, at the Supe on Friday, an EXTREMELY LARGE woman rode by on one of those motorized shopping carts (not fast, mind you); she was WELL over 300 lbs. YUGE ass flaps hanging over the sides of the seat. Her hubs walked slowly behind. Maybe he weighed 140. if that thing broke down and he had to push, he was gonna need some help.

He certainly wasn't gonna pick her up, ala John Wayne/ Angie Dickinson in Rio Bravo.

430 Last week, on one of my trips out to the dumpster, I fished out TWO Blessed Mother statues ("bout 10 " tall).

"Of all the gin joints in all the world"

I gave one to a very nice young lady and the other to a very nice young man.

432 Nevermind the baby formula - What happened to the yellow mustard?

Not that I go through a whole lot but I recently got the last two squirt bottles on the shelf.

Went out again, different store, and thought I'd get the old school 1 qt jar of yellow mustard.
All the had was about 2 ft of one shelf fronted up with the store brand.
