Funny story about Quick Draw. Both he and my son were working at different restaurants as head cooks when my son got married. Quick Draw's wedding present was a suckling pig. He and my son roasted the piglet at Quick Draw's restaurant oven after hours. Both of them were pretty soused by the time the pig was ready. They served the damn thing whole, and perched a pair of sunglasses on the thing to hide its lack of eyes. I took some substitute teaching jobs many years ago. At one of the schools you had bathroom duty during your off period. You sat out side of the student bathroom and checked their bathroom authorization card and insured only one student entered at a time.

That accusation read right out of the playbook they tried for Trump. It wasn't the supposed victim coming forth. It was the victims friend. And they can't say or do more but want others to come forward. I don't think he has a plan. I think Elon has several, and which gets deployed depends on what's coming his way. I think the #metoo thing along the accusations of racism at Tesla made him go, "OK, we're going scorched earth out of the gate." It's most likely not what he wanted, but he's a bright enough guy that he's probably already gamed it out among several other scenarios.

Matt Taibbi had a three part series about the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, which is behind a number of these recent accusations, including the one at Tesla. Their strategy is:
1) Come up with some outrageous charges
2) Leak the charges to the media
3) Demand a huge amount to "settle" the charges
Their best one was their investigation of the gaming company Activision for sexual harassment, where their media minons breathlessly reported that at an Activision company event there were scantily clad women dancing on "stripper poles".
Turned out that it was a Cirque du Soleil performance.
The response of companies subjected to these tactics is generally to move out of California - DFEH denounced Tesla's moving its headquarters to Texas, saying that they were trying to "avoid accountability".

2.) Levy enormous penalty A.
3.) Give Firm Y an """option""" to pay .5A to Democrat Affiliated Nonprofit B instead - for the greater good.
So a 100 million dollar fine is cleaned into an unprovable 50 million dollar bribe, while the board of the company talks about their fiduciary responsibility and their social equity through their shiteating smirks. Beautiful. Perfect scam.

Former Republican (and former Marine) Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard is in town for the Indianapolis 500. Ballard told I-Team on Friday that he’s raising a red flag for Republican state lawmakers, telling them to let Governor Holcomb’s veto stand on the bill about transgender athletes. The bill would prohibit transgender girls from playing in school-sponsored sports. Holcomb vetoed it in March, but lawmakers will meet next week to try to override that.
In 2015, Ballard pushed back on state lawmakers over the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, as did thousands of other Hoosiers. Opponents said the bill targeted LGBT people. Supporters claimed the RFRA law protected the exercise of freedom of religion and freedom of conscience.
The widespread protests, led by major Indiana employers, caused then-Gov. Mike Pence and lawmakers to amend the RFRA law 10 days after it had passed.
Ballard said Friday that the transgender bill, like RFRA, will divide the state and could make it difficult to recruit new businesses to Indiana.

My oldest. He's my rock. He held my hand and cooked for me and took care of his brother when I was sick. He's such an awesome young man. I just wish he'd find his passion in life. Lately I read that pre 1982 pennies are worth 1.7 cents in copper value, tho it's now illegal to melt them down. Just fun to look at my change. I found a 1955-D penny recently, the year I was born. Now this 1943-P nickel is a find.

Just reading some more about the grid. We're gonna have rolling blackouts this summer for up to half of the country. The Midwest region is in the most trouble. Normal summer demand will exceed capacity. In the West, any higher than expected demand will exceed capacity. In the East, we're good (but not for long).
They like to blame climate change with heat waves and drought for this, but nope, they didn't plan for expected conditions. They've been pushing green shit, and let generation capacity actually decline. They're reaping the whirlwind.
This country is in some serious trouble. Economic collapse and energy shortages.

Just saw this on the Daily Mail. A Texas landscaper was killed by massive bee stings. He was in a harness, suspended from a tree, and trapped when hit their hive. He was swarmed and mass stung for 10 minutes.
Terrible way to go.

Julues is doing good, no discomfort. But her new corrected eye is not working the best while her left needs correction.
She is doing fine, can't drive so I had to go buy her an eyepatch. Which I had brought up at the eye docs. Her eyes are very off, w/ no correction till the next surgery. They never even mentioned that idea, duh.

The fire dept. got there and sprayed him down with water, but it was too late.
There will probably be big time lawsuits, as the owners knew the hive was there.

I stayed at one of those in Maine one year. Oh yeah, I totally see where Stephen King gets his inspiration from. We called it Motel Hell. We walked in, there was a sitting/reading room to the left. Two ancient dudes sitting at a small table playing checkers. I assumed they were mummified, because in the next 5 minutes they didn't move a hair. There was a bell on the front desk that you had to ring, the kind you had to shake. A seriously old women comes out, we check in, and she hands me an ancient skeleton key to our room which was decorated in a style that can best be described as "lit Lizzy Borden". We split at the crack of dawn.
