"Shhhh... I think they're looking at us"

The panda: Nature's perfect predator.

100 million years of evolution has created the world's most elegant killing machine.

"Humans like it when you show your teeth. They call it 'smiling.' Smile for the humans, boy."

Passive observation, active observation.

"Can you assholes... find... anywhere... else... to make a racket while I'm trying to sleep?"

Pig in a blanket.

Tigress and cubs.

Bunny kisses.

Heron casually riding a crocodile.

Life imitates art.

I bet you that after watching this video you will find pigeons more interesting than you did before.

This is, as Drew Barrymore would say on a talk show in 1994 before the world went mad, "magical."

"Are you making fun of me?!"

So cute he could almost be a monster in a Steven King book.

12 just got willowed on the last thread:

365 339 I think I remember Jordan Peterson saying that if a kid is screwed up at the age of five, we don't know any way to fix them."

The problem there is that, unless you're taking about some horribly obvious mental disorders, it's impossible at the time for anyone to know if a child is really screwed up or not. (now the 8y year old with the flaming tennis ball sounds really screwed up, of course)

But there have always been a number of people who come out of horrible situations and yet become very responsible adults; just like there are a large number who have wonderful upbringings and come out complete dirtbags. We've all seen it.

Grump mentioned he got pulled over by smokey, last week. Officer Dibbles handed him a hefty fine.

In my shithole state, MA, when I get a speeding ticket, I pay that ticket 7X. I pay the ticket, and then my insurance carrier "surcharges" me for the next 6 years by raising my premium. This is for "safety."

And these stupid assholes in MA keep reelecting the same Democrat Shits who come up with these ways to rob us like they're the sheriffs of Nottingham.

What's even more insulting is when you driving record is clear of traffic infractions, the state and the insurance company says they're giving you a "safe driver discount" on your premium.

Get it?
When they're not picking your pocket, that means you're getting a "discount."

Retarded rolling birds that shit everywhere. In my area, roosting pigeons are a huge problem. I had one set up under the eves of my balcony. In just 2 days it looked like they'd been living there for 20 years. A roofer told me they shit so much, that the water backs up on the roofs and goes under the shingles and lapping. I've seen incredible water damage on walls because pigeon poop. Pigeons and squirrels, I hate them.

I have to spray the lawn twice a year to kill grubs. If I don't, the raccoons will come along and eat them, and it looks exactly like somebody came in with a rototiller overnight. Skunks too, but they're not nearly as efficient as the damned raccoons. Once the raccoons start, they'll keep tearing the lawn up even after the grubs are long gone. They're optimistic little fucks that hate you. Of course, the idiot neighbor that's been feeding them and the feral cats for the past 10 years is moving at the same time I am. Couldn't move 5 years ago, oh-no. I hope the new owners like angry starved feral cats and raccoons.

Everyone was howling with laughter when I came flying in to the point where they didn't notice the equally terrified bat sliding his way out the back door of the house.

Also not fair is a new Home Depot app that gives a map to the location of an item you want. I had an avocado a week or so ago that was uneatable. The whole thing was hard as a rock even after a week. I could barely cut into it. So... I tossed in the back yard. Several days later, early in the morning I see a possum wandering round. He smells, or sees the avocado and goes for it. Only to spit the bites back out and leave it.

How on earth to you get an avocado that bad?

374 Moderna on Thursday became the first Covid-19 vaccine manufacturer to ask the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to approve its jab for children under 6, less than six months after the agency delayed approval for adolescents as young as 12-years-old over the risk of dangerous heart inflammation in younger patients.

The development comes after the company announced positive results in late March for a phase 2/3 study for children aged 6 months to under 6 years - which found that the vaccine had "lower efficacy" against the Omicron strain.

"Using the Phase 3 COVE study COVID-19 definition, vaccine efficacy in children 6 months to 2 years was 43.7% and vaccine efficacy was 37.5% in the 2 to under 6 years age group."

It would be interesting to know the history of why it was chosen. I would assume it was because everyone had at least some experience with scales and commerce back then.

IIRC the word means "something unwanted" or similar, which makes sense regarding measurements. It's interesting to consider how that ties in with a weed, too, and the relationship between it all.

419 I have a friend who used to attend Mariners games in the Kingdome with me back in 1995 when the Mariners' magical season saved baseball in Seattle and eventually led to what used to be called Safeco Field being built. We both still refer to that stadium as "The Sacred Pilings", because we used to go down and watch them build on our lunch breaks from the Seattle law firms we worked at in those years. Watched them dig the hole, drive the pilings, erect the steel, all of it. Such good, good times.

It is a fantastic place to watch a game, and those garlic fries? Divine.

The same-sex kiss first made headlines last month, when Pixar animators spoke out against Disney in an open letter obtained by Variety, saying that corporate executives had demanded cuts "from nearly every moment of overtly gay affection."

According to SlashFilm, "Lightyear" producer Galyn Susman confirmed that Alisha's kiss was initially cut from the movie. But it was later restored in light of Disney's "Don't Say Gay" controversy, when it was revealed the company had donated roughly $200,000 to Republican politicians who supported the bill, which forbids discussions of sexual orient in elementary school classrooms.

Then they check the lymph nodes to see if cancer has spread. She wanted me to have it on the day or our church rummage sale, but I said I need to have it later next month. I was so tired afterwards and rather bummed, so I went to the gift shop and to cheer myself bought myself a book of devotions, earrings and a psalm word search . There was a lady in there very upset about her sick Dad in the ICU. I told her I would pray for him-Jim- and we all chatted with the very nice check out woman who said some people would think we were different because of our skin color, but we were all sisters in Christ. The two other women were black. I told her I was a pastor and she took my number in case she wanted to talk. So I guess you could say I did some ministry is always a good thing.

Yeah, sorry. I guess I won't mention the part where VP Karmella couldn't even manage 4th place in her own state during the presidential primaries, and that was on purpose, too.

They want you to know they did it, that they can do it, and that they control so much of what you used to think was something sacred of yours.

We were able to keep him shielded and safe.

Joe has been living the lie since forever that his ideas, if they could be implemented, would make America a paradise. After 40 or so years his ideas are finally being implemented, and they suck swamp-water. Now comes into play Joe's life-long stubbornness and belief he is a genius, combined with typical old-age stubbornness. He is NOT, repeat NOT, going to change path on anything while he is in office. We are truly fubar.

I got to meet him once, during that 2006 campaign for Governor. His deal was to announce the time he would be at a popular bar in the city (this was the Flying Saucer in Ft Worth) and anybody who wanted could come and have a beer with him, while he held court and just talked about whatever he wanted to talk about. He was hilarious.

450 Controlled stall spiral roll is the quickest safe way down. Not always easy to do. There are requirements for if a plane loses cabin pressure the control system has to take over and descend to a safe altitude, something like 10k 15k feet. The system will use push over steady descent and pull up level out. But if a pilot wanted to descend faster he would roll into it kind of steep and pop the speedbrakes.

488 So I have another prayer request. Please pray for my church. We are lacking in funds and are so small and so the denomination wants us to close. With losses of friends and family over the past couple of years it would be a bad time for some people if we close since some have spent half or all of their life there and they need to have a pastor right now. So, if you are a Christian and could pray that people would come, and find a warm place with Biblical preaching and the love of God and good fellowship and stay so that God would be glorified and Christ lifted up I would appreciate that. It's not about me; It's about Christ. We did have two new people come last week and one I could tell she was having a very hard time over something going on in her life or the world. The congregation was very nice so I hope they'll be back.

And now I'm going to bed. Thanks for having a listening ear. Sorry if I shared too much.
