The Morning Report - 4/4/22

smallholemickey.jpg

Good morning, kids. Monday, and yet again it's a link-a-palooza. For the most part it's overwhelmingly madness, disaster and catastrophe all over the place yet there are a few nuggets of hope in there. I suppose I'm an optimist because if I were a pessimist I'd have rearranged the order of that sentence. Well, whatever the hell is happening we're either at a tipping point or we're about to tip over into an abyss. But, I said I was an optimist so let me at least continue in that vein. More and more Americans including (at least anecdotally and from my own perspective) relatively reasonable liberals are repulsed by the destruction of their livelihoods, futures, and most especially their children.

Between what has happened in Loudon County vis a vis the targeting of parents for waking the hell up and protesting the rape of their children, mind, body and soul, the elevation of this Lia "John Thomas" Thomas to Rosa Parks status for destroying women's sports and now the horrifying revelations that the highest echelons of the Walt Disney Company are pushing the sexualization and transgender psychosis on our children, people have "woke" the hell up. After almost 60 years of deviancy being defined down to the point where sanity and normalcy is now viewed as deviant, we're probably now a year or so away from the decriminalization of pedophilia. That is, if nuclear war does not erupt or our entire economy doesn't collapse in on itself first, but I digress.

That brings us to the Supreme Court of the United States. If you thought Ruth Bader "Meinhoff" Ginsburg was bad (and being general counsel for one of the worst anti-American front groups in history, the ACLU, is pretty damn bad), or Sonia "wiseass Latina" Sotomayor was horrible, or even the reprehensible fraud posing as Chief Justice who brazenly acts a one-man Congress to rewrite and make kosher what's unconstitutional, then you ain't seen nothing yet.

. . . investigative journalist Paul Sperry revealed Saturday that Jackson “heard horrifying details of ‘sadomasochistic’ torture of young kids — including ‘infants and toddlers’ — yet challenged the disturbing evidence presented by prosecutors and disregarded their prison recommendations to give the lightest possible punishments in each case.”

Not only that but “in some cases, she even apologized to some of the kiddie-porn perverts for having to follow the statutes, which she called ‘substantially flawed.’” Jackson repeatedly “made excuses for the sex fiends’ criminal behavior and cut them slack in defiance of investigators and prosecutors — and sometimes even probation officers serving her court — who argued for tougher sentences because the cases were particularly egregious or the defendants weren’t remorseful.” This contradicts Biden’s handlers’ claims that her light sentences for child pornographers were “mainstream” and within “normal range.”

The details are stomach-churning. “In July 2020,” Sperry reports, “Jackson gave the bare minimum sentence to a defendant convicted of distributing images and videos of infants being sexually abused, and who had boasted of molesting his 13-year-old cousin, even though she knew the defendant refused ‘to take full responsibility’ for his crimes, a transcript reveals.” The offender whom Jackson ensured got off lightly had posted a nude image of a two-year-old girl and a video of sex with a prepubescent girl. . .

. . . Jackson even apologized to one child pornographer as she sentenced him, saying: “This is a truly difficult situation. I appreciate that your family is in the audience. I feel so sorry for them and for you and for the anguish that this has caused all of you.” This was a habit: to another, she said: “I also feel terrible about the collateral consequences of this conviction,” adding that “sex offenders are truly shunned in our society, but I have no control over the collateral consequences.”

As revolting as all this is, it doesn’t look as if it’s going to derail Jackson’s confirmation.

The writing is on the wall, people. Pedophilia will be decriminalized within a year, regarded (as in "propagandized") as normal within two and anyone who objects will be charged with a hate crime within three and imprisoned. Somewhere before that, an incident will be fabricated, much like what happened to Gibson's Bakery, the Masterpiece Cakeshop and Memories Pizza, that will cause the ruination and targeting of an innocent party, perhaps even involving their own child. And just like the others, it will be pour encourager les autres.

If you want to know how alone we are politically vis a vis the GOP, take a gander at the typical idiocy of Roy Blunt.

“She’s certainly going to be confirmed. It will be a high point for the country to see her go on the court and take her unique perspective to the court. I don’t think she’s the kind of judge that will do the work that I think needs to be done by the court. I won’t be supporting her. I’ll be joining others in understanding the importance of this moment.”

Ketanji Brown 25 is a horror. An absolute horror both in terms of the damage she has inflicted on our society by her sentencing record and worse, the poison coursing through her veins about this country. Her racialist-driven hatred of this nation and its history are risible in the extreme considering the opportunities it gave her to rise to the position she is today, assuming she actually has the intellectual stones to merit her JD and was not merely the product of affirmative action. Bad enough. Yet here's Roy Blunt praising the diversity garbage and importance of voting to confirm someone solely on the basis of melanin and gonads, calling it a "high point for the country" while talking out of the other side of his ass saying he'll still vote no.

Substitute the letter "C" for "BL" and that's Roy. Meh, that's the GOP. But when you see the GOP as not "the stupid party" but as confederates of the Left in the dismemberment of America, you understand fully where we are. Blunt not only doesn't bring up her horrid pro-pervert pro-violent criminal anti-victim record, he completely ignores this pearl necklace of wisdom from out of the cake-hole of Brown 25 Jackson:

Each new Supreme Court justice swears an oath that begins “I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; [and] that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same....” With that oath, the justice affirms his or her acceptance that people have unalienable (i.e., inherent) rights: life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness, freedom of speech, worship, assembly, and the press; the right to bear arms; the right to a swift trial and one by jury; and the whole panoply of inherent rights that their federal and state governments can deny them only if they demonstrate an overwhelming, legitimate need that cannot be met in any other way.

Question: Do you hold a position on whether individuals possess natural rights, yes or no?

Response: I do not hold a position on whether individuals possess natural rights.

So, Senator Blunt, is the complete rejection of inalienable rights - the very foundation on which our laws and society were built nearly 250 years ago - by Kentanji Brown Jackson the "high point for the country" or was it something else?

Funny how the more we reject this kind of garbage the more the Democrat-Left and assholes like Roy Blunt and the GOP double, triple and quadruple down. "The beatings will continue until morale improves." And of course, if the morale of the people doesn't improve, replace them with other people.

As if the border crisis isn’t damaging enough, with 2.5 million illegal migrants having crossed into the United States since Joe Biden took office, now the [junta] is going to make it exponentially worse by unwinding the last Trump-era restriction.

The Title 42 policy, implemented by the Trump administration during the pandemic to allow border officials quickly to expel migrants on public health grounds, will be terminated next month, the CDC announced Friday.

Title 42 was the last tool border officials had left to stem the flow of illegal migration from more than 150 countries across the southern border. Now, they are anticipating a doubling or tripling of numbers to as many as 18,000 a day.

We know what that means. More secret migrant flights fanning out from the southern border to a town near you. . .

. . . Already, since [so-called quote-unquote "president"] Biden dismantled Trump-era border restrictions on his first day in office, the number of illegal migrants who have entered the US is the equivalent of the fifth largest city in the nation. By the time the midterms roll around, we will have another 5 million.

That’s at least 7 million total, the equivalent of the second largest city in the country. Almost the size of New York City. It’s like importing the entire population of Libya.

And from next month, that’s the number who will enter every year unless someone wrests control of the border from the cartels.

By the time the next presidential election rolls around, in 2024, the number of Biden illegals will be over 20 million at these rates. That’s a 6% population increase over Biden’s term in illegal migration alone, against a backdrop of rampant inflation.

How do we house and feed such a horde? How do hospitals, schools and jails cope with this unheralded influx with no planning or preparation?

This is Biden’s biggest disaster, and there have been a few.

Kind of ironic that millions and millions of illiterate third world peasants are fleeing to a country that is on the verge of turning into the bankrupt, destitute and violent shit-holes that they fled. Now that I've vented my spleen, I can't seem to remember what I was optimistic about. Maybe the prospect of a Russky or Chi-Com mushroom cloud.

Feh.

17 The junta is doing a masterful job of creating so much noise and confusion, it's making it difficult to see the individual steps they are taking to break the back of America. I think the majority of the chaos is directed to keep the border off the front burner - even his leftist minions in Arizona and South Texas are complaining - and yet he perseveres. Remember a few years ago when that really, really smart man was essentially driven out of polite society for daring to write an article about "the talk" people should have to their kids regarding race? Even more funny is how prescient it was since now we're supposed to notice race in any and everything. Well, okay. If you insist.

One of the pieces of advice was, IIRC, was something like "if you see a crowd of minorities forming, leave"

The video is blacks and mexicans. Oil and water, regardless of what DC politicians from Maine and Delaware who have no idea what living near minorities is like love to insist their relationship is like.

I have a cautious confidence that the American people, at that point, will stand with a resounding voice and say "NO" once the Progressives try to go that far. I'm even seeing people who previously thought of Disney "sure, they're filled with progressives, but they mostly mind their own business, and it's hard to find good programming that's fit the family these days," taking a good, hard look at Red (the new one that's totally not about sexualizing children youse guys), and Disney's position on the anti-groomer law in Florida and saying, "You know what? No, that's enough."

61 Nationalist Viktor Orban's election in Hungary was supposed to be in question, a close-run thing if he pulled it off. "Unexpectedly" for a multi-party system, he won a majority margin of around 53%. Big.

He supports strong borders, families get tax incentives, and community control of education. He has criticized the EU, Zelensky, Biden and is at war with George Soros and the left.

62 55 I saw that Charles Cooke was doing the RINO dance over the Florida Anti-Groomer bill. Sure, the Florida legislature should stand firm. Punishing Disney, by removing their special status, is revenge and should not be done. In other words, play defense and continue to lose in the long run. Heaven forbid, we let Disney know they have crossed a line and there will be consequences. No, lose with dignity and principles, and don't mess with the corporate money train.

Treating Disney the same as everyone else is not a punishment. Giving them a special status that they currently enjoy is a privilege that they are abusing and Florida should absolutely take it away.

63 Part Deux: The Sunday Morning shows often give insight into where Media wants to go, or spin.

Yesterday, Hillary, of all people, was on with Chuck Todd. "Joe is doing great, but you know I'd do better" was the theme.

Todd failed to ask Hillary about her campaign getting fined by the FEC over the Dossier, let alone Trump's conspiracy lawsuit. Instead, as a lead-in, he noted that Putin had interfered in 2016 to Hillary's detriment. I suppose he means Putin's $100k social media ad buy. Recall that the Russians gave the Clinton Foundation $125mm while getting access to our high-end internet tech.

Longer, even.

I understand there are records of Ottoman nobility having their children inoculated back in the 13th or 14th century (I think - I don't pay much attention to middle-eastern history in that timeframe, so I could be off by a century or two. But it was certainly before modern vaccines and even, I think, germ theory). We have long observed that people who get a disease and survive it rarely deal with it again, and when they do it tends to be more mild.

For some reason, all of the industrialized world completely forgot about that starting in 2019, and I'm not really sure why.

I've gotten the same email - they had a bad quarter for subscriber growth, and they haven't added much content...so you get this...

I have not bought, even though it's the right price for when I usually do (one that costs the company to have me), b/c I want to see a little more suffering (and a little more content - Encanto and a bad Marvel show is not enough to get me to care, especially when I have all my other digital deals still in play)...

PS - Wayward Pines season 1 was good, but I was let down from the last few minutes. Funny enough, I wanted more uplifting, but I guess when you're a tv show needing season 2. Of course, then they only got season 2, which I'm gonna wait to watch til I tackle finishing another show...I will say the "watch what you say, big brother is watching" was surprisingly so on point for now...

Book of Boba Fett was pretty good, and the Mandalorian has been fantastic (still ticked about what happened with Gina Carrano (sp?), though). Add in some of the Marvel programming (yeah, it's hit or miss, but it hits more often than it misses) and it should be a no-brainer that I'd be hooked for life.

117 Eh, Roy Blunt is a retard. Let's follow his line of reasoning.

KBJ on the Supreme Court represent a grand moment in American history because she's a Black Woman Judge.(Period Full Stop)

She is apparently the only(?), the best(?) qualified Black Woman Judge despite being a pedophile-friendly enabler, who is also a hate-filled racist, who is also an anti-American constitution commie in direct conflict with her oath of office.

There were no other Black Women Judges in America, who didn't have these automatic (in a sane world) disqualifications. All other Black Woman Judges despite being Black, Women, and Judges were so-o- hideously unqualified that we have to have this ragbag for our shining moment in american history.

I find this very hard to believe. Which means that Roy Blunt and his ilk are weird racists. Or that KBJ disqualifies for office are actually her most important qualifications. IMHO.

It also appears - though it could be confirmation bias on my part and time will tell - that the "curse of Cassandra" problem is starting to fade. It's still there, but it is no longer universal.

I wouldn't call it an "awakening" in broader terms until two things happen:
1. Informal strikes or union formation in industry to fight against woke-ass HR racism and destructive corporate "ESG" nonsense
2. Public school enrollments crash by more than 20%

Those are my thresholds to look for real "I'm awake, I'm pissed and screw you" development.

If they *didn't* believe those things, there would be no moral or philosophical argument to be made in favor of things like "disparate impact theory" and affirmative action. It wouldn't be an "historic" or "important" moment to have the first black woman on the Supreme Court - she would just be another person, either qualified or not - who was being nominated.

"Representation" is a thing for fiction - movies, TV, books, cartoons. Even then it should be done for the sake of the story, and not just to check boxes. In the real world, "representation" should only be based on real qualifications, work, and results.

134 I would bet Disney will still draw in record crowds this busy season. Most families can now afford only one visit and they will make the best of it. Many attractions are undergoing revamp's, and the children will still want to go. Season passes are only available for prior holders right now, but that could change. Disney has done a great job brainwashing children that their parks are the place to be.

135 Lifetime court appointments must be done away with. The meaning of the word "Lifetime" has changed since the Constitution was written. In those days you were lucky to live to 65. Now you're stuck with them until they're 90-ish.

They need to calculate the average tenure of Supreme Court judges up to about 1920 when people started to live longer, and make that the maximum allowable tenure.

137 If only that were true, but so far Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni (who both actually love Star Wars and want it to live forever) have been given more-or-less free reign over what to do with the Disney+ programming. That's why giving up on Disney+ is going to hurt (that, and sometimes we like to watch stuff from the Before Times when Disney still made more-or-less wholesome family content).

Everything leads to Luke Skywalker still drinking green titty milk. Fuck Filoni and Favreau. They're with Kennedy. How often are blasters being used in the Star Wars shows? Obi Wan is going to be a side character in his own show because you're going to have the strong female inquisitor that is actually going to be or wind up on the light side saving him. Oh and he's going to fight Vader again further destroying Star Wars.

142 I don't want DeSantis to run for president. Based on what I've seen so far, he looks like the best candidate to me, but I don't want him to run. Trump might try again, but I think he'll probably lose. I'm ambivalent about voting for him again. He failed his first time and whether that was his fault or not - and I land on "not" most of the time - the fact remains that he could not tackle the deep state.

And that's why I don't want DeSantis to run. In my opinion, Trump's experience demonstrated that the presidency is a false prize. If a non-monster manages to win it, he'll be stymied at every turn. Congress - even if it is of his own party - will slow-walk everything. The bureaucracy will nakedly obstruct and disobey his orders. The military will violate the chain of command and disregard him. He will be forced to make progress through easily-reversible EOs and those will be undone promptly by his replacement.

The presidency doesn't matter and the president cannot fix anything or undo any of the destruction within the government. I don't want the few good men we have to run into that morass only to get stuck and realize too late that it was a suicide mission.

I do tend to cut him slack for his actions while he was president because of the wall of liars he was surrounded with. Coupled with the newness and initial terror of what we were being told about WuFlu. He trusted "the (bogus) science" we were being fed and that's a stain on his presidency, imo. But we were all in the dark to varying degrees. The last I heard, months back, he still hadn't seen the light of day on the deceit of this entire thing, and that's unsettling. It's not a deal-breaker for me, but I hope he's changing his tune now that there is so much more information about all of these bad actors and the BS "science" they've shoveled at us.

I was worried about COVID at the beginning. I wasn't Chicken Little, but I was very worried. Then two things happened:
1. The Diamond Princess
2. The lack of corpses piling up in the streets

It was the first one that, as data started to come out, really made me think to myself, "I don't want to catch this thing, but I don't need to reorder my life around it and all of this is insane." A cruise ship is essentially a perfect disease environment. Close quarters, shared ventilation, closely shared spaces, shared food, shared facilities. It's probably on par with prisons if not slightly worse. And on that ship, only around 20% of people got the virus. Only a few died, and the population in question was old (albeit also healthy and fairly well-to-do). It wasn't a perfect study, but it was a very good one with the ability to control for a lot of confounding variables.

I'm hoping it at least drove a wedge in between them and the school system re: lockdowns, and they saw how they don't really need them and how little instruction their kids are getting from 7-8 hours a day of sitting in a class that does little more than provide jobs and retirement for the teachers. It might move some to homeschooling, especially with the parents being forced to stay home or losing their jobs at the same time this cross-dresser and "black people are better than your worthless honky-ass kids" are taking over public school academics.

Shame the Republicans thought investigating Trump over BS charges was a better use of time than tying school funds to children.

I am not sure he is. I don't think Trump has it in him to dance with the potential that fixing the problem might cause the failure of the United States government. And it might. When the kind of stuff the government does - the rampant corruption, the cronyism, the illegality, the sexual deviance, the racism, the theft, the murder, etc. - comes to light (and it *must* come to light to try to fix the problem), in a big way nobody can then deny, it could well result in the failure of the government and a soft or even hard revolution.

I don't think Trump would risk actually causing the government to fall by trying to fix it.

My mom was a public school teacher for something like 25 years. To them, it (whatever "it" is) is always the fault of "the district" or "administration" or "the State." That might be a narrow view, SMH. I'm not a Twitter user, either, but that doesn't mean it doesn't matter. If Musk is able to turn Twitter into a vast crack in the battlements that surround Big Tech, that would be a good thing. More important perhaps than even that, if he's able to get meaningful reforms - technical, procedural and ideological - at Twitter, it will have huge downstream effects on the news cycle. Twitter is, in essence, a tool for journalists and reporters to set the message. A stunning amount of "news" come from Twitter sources and discussion. Reforms to make Twitter less of a sewer will have downstream consequences - especially in media - even if you are not a user.

I doubt this happens, by the way. 10% ain't enough.

200 Good morning everyone. Thank you J.J.
Saint of the Day
St. Isidore of Seville (560 -- 636 A.D.) was born in Spain. He, as well as his two brothers and sister, all became saints. Isidore received his early education in Seville where learned men taught classical education. Isidore excelled in his studies there. He became a man of great learning, zeal, piety, and apostolic endeavor, assisting his brother in converting the Visigoths from the Arian heresy. He then becoming next Archbishop of Seville. He was one of the most learned men of the 6th century and is considered the last of the early Church Fathers. He was a prolific writer on the sciences and the classics. He composed history books, a dictionary, and an encyclopedia which was used for nine centuries. St. Isidore reunited Spain after the barbarian onslaught, making it a center of culture and learning. He wrote a rule for religious orders, and founded schools that taught every branch of learning. For his great learning and written works he was proclaimed a Doctor of the Church by Pope Benedict XIV. St. Isidore of Seville is the patron of computers, schoolchildren, and the internet.

This.

Though, as I understand it, that "special status" only extends as far as property that Disney actually owns and basically amounts to "you can do what you want with your property."

So what I'd rather see happen is that "special privilege" be made into a "general privilege." If you own property, you can do with it what you want. It's *your* property.

The Powerline article is not correct. The coalition that opposed Orban was a coalition of left-wing parties, not a conservative coalition. They did choose an independent politician who was the mayor of a small city to be their PM designate, and he called himself "conservative". But apparently no one was fooled by this charade, as he has actually lost his election to parliament as well. There was also a referendum on the teaching of LGBT ideology in schools, which FIDESZ opposes, and the left didn't even want to support. They aren't supporting Russia. If there is one thing I can stress to all if you, it is that there is only one journalist who writes in the English language that knows anything about Hungary, and that is John O'Sullivan. Everything else you read, and I mean everything, is absolute crap. There is strong support for Orban's stance on the war, which is that it has nothing to do with us. He does not support Putin in the invasion, and he has not used his veto to oppose EU sanctions, but he is dead set against getting Hungary involved militarily at any level. The opposition made a big point about saying they would send weapons and even soldiers to Ukraine if NATO requested it. So, I think Orban was going to win anyway, but the war gave him a massive win instead of a slim victory.

Back in the migrant crisis in 2015, he was basically one of the few European leaders to follow the actual EU laws on migration. Which state people seeking asylum have to stop and register in the first safe country they come to. The Germans and the French and most other Western European countries decided their moral principles were more important than actual EU law, so they made Orban the bad guy for following the rules.

Since *2004?*

Facebook was still in beta in 2004. Back in 2004, you had to be a student at a handful of major universities to even register for Facebook. A year later it was out of beta but still for college students only - you had to use a .EDU E-Mail address to register for the service. It didn't even open to all comers until I think 2008. If the finding is that they've been misbehaving on interaction numbers since 2004, then it goes back to the beginning. If that bears out, blowback and penalties from advertisers will be the least of the problem because their investors are going to want to have a word with them.

266 Orban election commenter at Insty's, tanarur, 5of5

In the current situation, Orban has read the contract, and it says that Hungary is obliged to support NATO members if they are attacked. Ukraine is not a NATO member, and there are no bi-lateral agreements between Hungary and Ukraine, so therefore not our business. Simple as. I suppose he is counting on the other NATO countries to honor their commitment to the letter of the treaty as well if Hungary was ever threatened. Which may not be wise, since many of them have shown in the past they don't always honor the letter if the law. But no one here thinks Putin has any intentions of trying to take Hungary. Not even the left tried to make that argument, and they made just about every other lunatic and libelous arguments in the election campaign.

270 So how many illegals, how many millions of them, will be voting in 2024?

The studies I've seen say 17% of them voted in 2016. If there are 40M of them that means about 6-7M votes.

Posted by: 18-1 at April 04, 2022 08:43 AM

I live in a rural Texas County that is chock full of illegals. When we went to vote during the plandemic the line was out the door and it took me about 4 hours to get to the voting machine. In that entire time I didn't see a single hispanic person in line, not one. Illegals here don't vote because they don't want to get caught. I personally know a couple of dozen illegals and they never vote, even the ones with "good" papers.

The funny thing about the campus cops is that they are universally hated by the student body but they are actually there to shield the students. One patron was wearing one - a pretty lady in her thirties. She wore it in, sat down, took it off, but put it back on whenever she got up from the table.

But she was it. Everyone else was normal.

______________

I lived in California for over a decade. Plenty of illegals where we were. And, I never saw any Mexican looking people at the voting station. It's a tedious process and they've got businesses to run, families to feed, yards to mow, etc.

The whole "illegals vote Democrat" is a lie. The ballots harvested on their behalf are used to vote Democrat, but illegals (and to a certain degree Latino's in general) would likely vote Republican. Latino's are family orientated, typically religious and while many are perceived to be lazy most are hard workers. They are not "woke."

Requirements for mail-in voting in Texas: A voter must personally apply for a mail in ballot in advance, and in writing; he or she must provide proof of voter registration (and citizenship); and the application must be made to the early voting clerk of that county, who will certify eligibility before sending out a ballot.

With those restrictions in place, mail in voting is not an issue. The Leftist version abandons all the certification procedures.

But...waitresses are on the average younger and healthier (since they are on their feet for hours a day)....so COVID was not as serious a danger for them as say someone in a nursing home.

Obamacare was sold two different ways;

1) We'll lower the costs of insurance...by 3000% no less!

390 I might be mistaken, but I read Disney's "special status" to be as you said with this change "you can do what you want on your property." Which is a huge difference.

IIRC Disney has it's own internal LE, fire, sanitation, etc. Basically it's own little "self administrative area" inside the state of FL.

In the Orlando area, "Disney property" is the most important phrase in the English language. It's a bit like how San Marino is its own country in spite of being 100% surrounded by Italy. They are the law, the government, and everything else. If DeSantis took away their special status, they'd have to submit to electrical and plumbing inspections on new construction of rides or whatever, and apply for permits, and everything else the government does to make us hate it.

I think they put a non-COVID patient or two on it for the purposes of appearances, but yeah, it was unnecessary. And I don't resent that ship being sent there, nor the field hospitals the armed forces and NGOs like Samaritans built. The way those were designed to be used was wrong in my opinion (they were for non-COVID overflow from the real hospitals, which would be dedicated to COVID instead of being COVID-only quarantine hospitals), but doing it was not a bad thing. We didn't know yet. The fear was that it would rip thorough and consume all hospital facilities. They were an insurance policy against that, and it was the right thing to do.

When they ended up not being needed, it was a big piece of public evidence that COVID wasn't something you *wanted,* but it wasn't going to cause the medical system to collapse. When those hospitals and ships were packed up for lack of need, it was entirely obvious that continued lockdowns and extreme COVID response measures were useless at best.

I don't know if the US government even published the total death numbers over the last few years.

I remember looking at the Scottish numbers, before they hid them, and while there was a COVID bump, there was a MUCH larger bump after they introduced the clot shot.

Scotland lost 5K more people the summer after it introduced the clot shot then it did the summer before...when they had COVID. Meaning that the clot shot killed about .1% of the population.

Yup. And even without the ship and field hospitals, Cuomo didn't need to do that. He signed that order on behalf of hospital system lobbyists because they wanted the old folks (with their comparatively low reimbursement) out of their facilities. I still get a blood pressure spike whenever I think about what those governors did. They all deserve to be locked up for the rest of their evil lives, along with the lobbyists who wrote those orders for them.

Respondents who "know someone LGBTQ": 61 percent to 28 percent.

No poll is dispositive, and the surveys aren't unanimous. Ipsos asked Americans in mid-March if they agreed with barring "classroom lessons about sexual orientation or gender identity in elementary school." It found 62% opposed.

472 "I didn't realize this question was asked of her, and that was her answer. Unbelievable.--Ordinary American"

What is even more unbelievable is a nominally "American" electorate (or 49% of it) that has been so dumbed down by centuries of judicial review that it has entirely outsourced any thinking about what our Constitution means to "the Courts." 49% of Americans couldn't tell you that "up" is different than "down" unless a Court first told them so. Un freakin believable how far we've fallen from a free people.

473 For some reason, all of the industrialized world completely forgot about that starting in 2019, and I'm not really sure why.

It was a psy op. The product of 75 years and billions of dollars of research into marketing, propaganda, and the various vulnerabilities of the human mind.

477 Has anyone done research on whether Justice KJ was more lenient with pedo's that were black or white or latin or asian? These cases that were in front of her, what was the race of the person that committed the crime?

If they are all the same race, shouldn't she be questioned about uneven justice based on race?

478 relatively reasonable liberals

No such thing. Like the old joke: "What is a moderate Muslim? One that is out of ammo!" If they are "True Believers" they simply lack the guts to act. But when they are strong, they go balls to the wall.

Disagree. You can be "liberal" without being full-on freakazoid leftist. I might disagree and stridently on issues, but on certain things such as free speech where certain very liberal folks like Richard Dreyfuss, Glenn Greenwald or even Naomi Wolf are alarmed at the Maoists, we do have common ground.

We can argue about or debate issues only when we recognize one another's right to exist and even challenge each other based on recognition of common ground. Liberals do that. Leftists do not.

As part of the continuing effort to "decriminalize" everything, they did away with all traffic laws!

I hope it was not prophetic!

An unfounded and irrational fear. After all, traffic laws are a revenue stream.

485 You can't be Speaker of The House if you are a Senator.

You sure? To my knowledge, the Speaker doesn't have to be a member of congress at all.

486 If they want a wealth tax, let them strip those wealthy fuckers in Congress first. I mean how many of them became fabulously wealthy in office, using their inside knowledge and influence for gain? Of course that would NEVER happen...those kinds of confiscatory taxes are not for the rulers, but for the hoi polloi.
Oh, and Biden's tax increases on those earning over $400K? With inflation, that may be true some day, as $400K may be less than making ends meet at that point.

I will predict "independent."

We have a dem running in a special election (I think the official day of voting is today) who claims he is independent. He is full of shit, but is running again another lefty nutjob and a creepy looking repub. (San Diego, CA)

Meaning that we're a year or so away from vigilante justice over that matter.
