If there is a silver lining in the COVID-19 crisis over the past two years, it's that American parents have seen firsthand, via their children's online classes, how public schools have pushed a radical agenda that includes CRT (whether it's actually called that by schools or not).

It's fairly simple to program the DST change into various clocks. Just have to know the correct date. If they change the DST range again, they'll be fucked unless they have a way to update. I'm talking about the small embedded devices and stuff like. My thermostat clock jumped correctly. Only problem is, the clock is so piss poor accuracy it that it drifts several minutes over a couple months.

My "atomic" Casio wristwatch jumped ahead too soon. I have to manually sync it with the Ft. Collins radio signal, since it can't pick it up inside the house here. I did that a little after midnight. It immediately jumped one hour ahead, well before 2AM local time.

That's a piss poor implementation or bug in the watch programming. The time signal sent from Ft. Collins has two DST bits. One indicates "time is changing today", while the other indicates "time has changed and is now DST".

My watch noticed the "changing today" bit, and just jumped ahead right then, rather than waiting until 2AM local as it should have.

Well, actually, no. It doesn't. It's only 6 am here and won't get light until 7. I'm fine with the dark morning, but hate the light light light evenings -- especially when it gets hot. Which it will do in about 2 weeks. Gah.

On the other hand, I've just read about the wild career of British Summer Time and how at one point during WWII, Britain was *two* hours ahead of GMT. Weird. I have the GMT hand of my Steinhart wristwatch set to GMT/UTC, which is 5 hours ahead of my time zone. Yesterday it was 6 hours ahead -- but GMT time doesn't shift. London is still on GMT for another 2 weeks. On 27 March it will go to British Summer Time and be 6 hours ahead again.

I need to lie down.

UTC doesn't have any DST or any such nonsense. It's atomic time kept within 1 sec of UT1, astronomical time. NTP, the internet time protocol via which just about everything syncs, serves UTC and doesn't give a shit about DST or whatever they call in whatever corner of the world you're in.

Time zones and DST are entirely the province of the local servers based on local custom.

Ft. Collins radio time signal serves UTC(NIST) (that is, the NIST's definition of UTC), but it does note DST, via those two bits. This allows any device using that signal to be able to adjust for DST if desired. For the US definitions of DST.

It is. The arguments used now are things like "It provides more light for kids at the school bus stops in the morning!" Uh, no, it doesn't; until the school year ends it's darker in the morning than it would be without DST. At 3-4 pm, when the brats are swarming home, DST is irrelevant. (Except maybe in Alaska.)

"It saves energy!" Uh, no. It ensures that *more* hot sunlight falls on our homes later in the human day (meaning the period where we are active), thus causing our air conditioners to run longer. If DST came into effect in the winter, sunlight would fall on our homes a little longer in the human day, thus helping to warm them. That would save some energy. But nooooo ---

114 UTC doesn't have any DST or any such nonsense. It's atomic time kept within 1 sec of UT1, astronomical time.

If I was the WEF Chairman and could dictate to the world what time it would use. Local time zones would be a thing of the past. Everything referenced to UTC.

Its so simple a child can understand it. "Come home when it gets dark". What time is that? Look at your UTC clock bracelet. Now you know. So what if lunch is at high noon or 1800? If you are in Chicago and tell a person in Los Angeles that you are having a meeting at 1900. There is no mystery as to when that will be. One will have it after lunch, the other before.

115
The history of GMT, Greenwich Mean Time is interesting and long. Greenwich became "where time begins" only because Britain was king of the world, with an empire upon which the sun never set, and was the undisputed master of the seven seas.

So, they decided the prime meridian would pass through the royal observatory in Greenwich and that would define mean solar time. Determing longitude depended on very accurate clocks that could be kept synced to Greenwich time.

Then, with rail travel, it became possible to travel fast enough that differences in local mean solar time would be evident. The notion of "railway time" and time zones came from this.

GMT evolved into UTC. The United States maintains it's own time standards, which are the province of the NIST. The Naval Observatory in Washington is the official mean solar time keeper of the United States. The US, by law, doesn't give a shit what the royal observatory in Greenwich says. The Naval Observatory sets UT1 for us.

Our own atomic clocks set atomic time for us, and thus UTC.

We participate in the international definitions of standard time, but, by law, we use our own.

DST doesn't save energy. This is has been demonstrated. Modern electric usage doesn't much depend on it.

IIRC, the Krauts, back in WWI were the first to do this. It did save energy for gas lighting back then. With modern energy usage patterns, it doesn't make much difference.

I have several of those Casio watches. Pathfinder or something. I have this massive one a titanium "Titan" that is an ABC, solar, atomic, wonder-watch. If I leave propped up near a window, it will get the correct time.

But the Titan watch was only available in Japan and I had to special order it - which makes me wonder, does Japan change their clocks two hours after midnight like forty-eight of the states of the former United States does?

Funny thing is, the howler in those Pfizer documents is we find that Pfizer was the biggest fan of VAERS. They were arguing that they didn't to do their own vaccine AE monitoring because VAERS was so good. So, please FDA, don't require us to set up our own AE monitoring.

Then VAERS started exploding with AE reports, and all these same people began trashing VAERS as unreliable and self-reported.

I've got several Casio watches. They're pretty good. One is an older G-shock, and that thing keeps time damned good. No more than a second drift over several months.

Now, the "Atomic" G-shock I've got, doesn't keep internal time that good. It will drift over a second in a few weeks -- the idea is to keep it synced with the Ft. Collins signal.

The new house for Miley and me here faces South, and there are no windows that face West. That watch cannot get a signal inside. I have to step outside, face west, and manually sync it. No problem outside of the house, but inside, it cannot sync. Signal level is not too bad, but there's too much noise. It's all the electronic and wifi shit, I think.

So it makes complete sense to start seeing oneself as a refugee, and try to find a new place to land. Since it is largely the English, French and German speaking world that wants complete economic collapse and hardship, learning a new language and culture is paramount.

From a totally pragmatic standpoint, all cultures are utterly corrupt, venal and low-trust, whether its the West, India, China, Russia or any of the third world nations.

Strangely enough, Russia is the only nation that stands out as one that strongly desires growth and economic prosperity By Any Means Necessary. If you want to have modern conveniences like food and affordable, reliable energy, is Russia the answer?

Race Marxism is quite interesting in that it took a law theory, critical law that is, and then on the whole decided to apply it to people color of skin. The original idea at least consider a poor Hispanic, a poor Black, and a poor white person status before the law should be considered.
Race Marxism just decide in whole that black dude should get off, the Hispanic needs community service, and the White dude get 90 days, all 3 doing the same crime.

Kurdish officials did not reveal where the missiles struck - however a spokesperson for regional authorities said there were no flight interruptions at Erbil airport, according to the report."

218 The other issue with new wheels, the Tirerack website warns, is that the TPMS sensors from my car "may" fit these wheels. To be sure I can order a new set of sensors, $120 for the set. Too many older pervert men were getting caught with child pr0n on their TikTok accounts.

I think TikTok was muscling in on the public school system's turf by grooming teenagers. The girls with daddy issues usually drop out from pregnancy or drug addiction at sixteen, so the schools are OK with TikTok marketing sixteen year olds.

Up here in Maine they link everything with hoses so it gets sent back to a central tub.

286 A cross section of Americans support forever 1984 wars because it doesn't impact them. The conflicts we have engaged in since WW2 have had arguably no impact on US society unless pushed by the propaganda press and bluntly, minimal battlefield losses. The last 10 years in Iraq and Afghanistan, unless you had a kid killed or maimed there, was almost invisible here. The tragedy visited on our youth gone for soldiers is unspeakable. My MiL has not filed taxes in years as SS is her only real source of income but, this last year she inherited money from her brother's estate, and promptly gave it way to various members of the family. Then she learned she has to pay taxes on it. On the bright side, they withheld tax money before she got it but to get any of that back she will have to file. She no longer really even knows how to do that so I will have to do that for her.

295 59 Pence's argument, this person said is, "If you like the policies of the Trump administration but not the rest of the stuff, then I'm the guy who's going to fight for it."
____________

Pence is such a dumb-ass. Does he really think that the only reason the MSM and Big Tech and all the other globalists constantly attacked Trump was because of Trump's personality or his tweets? It was because of the policies that they hated Trump and were determined to take him down.

Pence imagines that he'll be hailed as a hero, a la John McCain, by the left if he just doesn't say "vulgar" things like Trump did. LOL. This idiot should buy himself a clue. The left would attack Pence just as viciously as they did Trump if he ever became president and tried to implement Trump-like policies. They'd blatantly lie about him, make up ridiculous stories to demean and humiliate him, start phony criminal investigations of him and his family and his appointees to try and destroy all their lives and fortunes, because that's what they do to anybody who threatens their globalist agenda.

"The rest of the stuff" was BECAUSE of Trump's policies.

299 Pence lies enough about himself, that he doesn't require the MSM. Just like Mitch and the rest of teh GOP. Had they been fighters, they'd had followed through on their promises and passed legislation that would have secured the borders, prevented the left from coming in and reversing energy independence, and put re-industrializaton into action. Instead they prevented any of this and shivved Trump. Now, they want us to believe that this time will be different. They want to pretend we never saw a leader who turned words into reality.

And reveling in it, no less. From January 2017-January 2019, Pence and the GOP had time to band with Trump and turn the country around. They never had any intention of doing it, and they will not do it if they get the House, Senate, Presidency. Their treatment of Trump and their refusal to act on their promises when the chance came tied up in a bow, is an indelible stain
