A Valentine Pizza for Teacher
Students at a Connecticut middle school were reportedly instructed to use "pizza as a metaphor for sex" and asked to cite their favorite toppings -- including cheese for "kissing" and olives for "giving oral." The eighth-graders at John F. Kennedy Middle School in Enfield received the "Pizza and Consent" assignment, which compared ordering a pizza to receiving consent, Fox News reported. "We can use pizza as a metaphor for sex," the assignment said, according to Parents Defending Education. "When you order pizza with your friends, everyone checks in about each other's preferences, right? . .This assignment was apparently devised some months ago, so I hope they remembered to advise the 13 and 14 year olds to keep their masks on during sex.
The bizarre assignment then continued on another page, under the headline "Personal Pizza." "Now that you know this metaphor for sex, let's explore your preferences! Draw and color your favorite type of pizza. What's your favorite style of pizza? Your favorite toppings? What are your pizza no-nos?" it read. "Now mirror these preferences in relation to sex! Here are some examples: Likes: Cheese = Kissing Dislikes: Olives = Giving Oral," the students were told. . .Draw and color your favorite type of pizza? Meanwhile, in China they are teaching middle school kids The Iliad, English, Greek, Latin and Calculus. And how to fire missiles. District's explanation: The assignment was supposed to be revised. OK, groomers. The local news kind of glossed over discussion of the pizza issue in the school board meeting. There are people who would rather that parents not see assignments like the one above.

They've really not gamed this out. They don't realize that all they'll do is remove truck drivers from the road, of which there is already a shortage, and, tactics will change. Instead of showing up and staying put for a couple of weeks, the disruptions will become rolling. Hit an area long enough to tie things up, then move on.

A conflict of interest motion with Michael Sussmann's lawyers.
Sussmann was Hillary's campaign lawyer and Durham has already indicted him not that the media talks about it and his current lawyers might have a conflict with others involved in other indictments.
The larger point is that Durham has evidence that not only was Trump right about them spying on his campaign they spied on him after he became president.

Yes and no. It required outside contractors like Rodney Joffee of Neustar and DNS experts at Georgia Tech. The spying was done on communications not cloak and dagger stuff. The government already had these contractors set up for looking at terror connections, etc., Hillary just paid them to do a bit of private spying.

The only answer if you want your kids to be healthy mentally is to homeschool. Single-working mothers can do it (I have some friends).
Yes, I am a homeschooling mom. My kids aren't perfect, they want to be part of the "normal" world they see on tv and utube, but it would destroy them. So I throw lots of parties and mask free fun for our homeschooling community so all the kids have a "normal" teen life.

Good for you. Four neighbor families homeschool. They all decided at the beginning of this nonsense that no one would isolate and would all continue the group lessons and visitations at the other homes. I do the mechanical practicals for the kids - tools/small car repair/ etc. whatever is age appropriate and the nature/biology stuff - we have a pond.
The kids are amazing, well balanced and wonderfully polite. I love those little stinkers.

Could be. Canadian politics is intricate and alien to me. He was MP of Newfoundland, and I remember a minister or secretary of a number of ministries too.
(Dad had a good friend from Alberta who used to visit, and I would ask questions about Canadian politics and he would have to spend five minutes or so explaining to me what I was asking.)

MP is not a PM. MP = Member of Parliament, similar to Congessman.
PM = Prime Minister, the leader of the governing Party in the House of Commons. PM's are all MP's, since they are the leaders of their party's caucus in the House of Commons. The leaders of most Provincial Governments are known as "Premiers" (analagous to Governors in the USA). But a couple of them style themselves as "Prime Ministers". Puffery.
Like I said, I don't remember if Peckford ever served as an MP in the federal government. He certainly was an MLA (member of the legislative assembly) in Newfoundland, because he had to be one to serve as Premier of Newfoundland, which is his claim to fame. And it was as Premier of Newfoundland that he took part on the drafting of the Charter. Which is a flawed document.

Also, the school systems place obstacles in the way of any teacher's attempt to legitimately educate his/her students. We get crummy textbooks and curriculum and somehow it's the lefty teachers who are in leadership and curriculum development positions. If you are tempted to use common sense, you find that you have to keep your head down to keep your job.
I'm very proud of my sister, who has been speaking out at her school. When other teachers push CRT, my sis questions their premises and provides the kids with stories of success for people who were willing to work and take risks and respect reality.

There's a very real and specific, if odd to outsiders, agenda here. The logic of the situation is Ukraine will inexorably become more militarily capable, and more integrated, security-wise, with NATO countries (well, the few significant ones).
The very specific demands/concerns of the Russians, expressed for years and formalized in direct talks for well over a year now, will either be addressed, or Russia will continue its attempt at coercion.
Moscow is in a bad place though. They don't want to "take" Ukraine (that's the dog catching the truck it's chasing), they already have the territory they want (Crimea), taken in a ballsy move 8 years ago. But they do want to forestall the future developments in Ukraine outlined above, and rightly figure it's now or never.
Usually when vital interest stakes are not symmetrical, as in this case, one side will prevail without too much conflict. West's only recourse will be sanctions, whose sting is uncertain, given both western European dependence on Russian energy and Russia's possible workarounds involving China.

Over at another site there was a brief discussion about the weather and the conditions on the ground over in the Ukraine and Crimea. Apparently the ground is not frozen enough to support heavy armor. Thus the Russians would be "road-bound" and unable to maneuver as they wish. This is not ideal when assaulting dug in and well prepared defenders.
The other thing that was mentioned in addition to the ground was how much cloud cover there'd be. The Russians have sophisticated air to ground munitions, but not all are GPS. Some require illumination by IR or TV cameras built into the weapons and/or aircraft.
The consensus was if they were Russian generals they'd be waiting a bit longer for better conditions.
But, in the end, Putin's calling the shots.

If we sprinkle crushed red pepper on pizza, why not a curry blend? Just a few more herbs is all. People love putting Sriracha and Old Bay hot sauce on everything, and in my neck of the woods there's a chutney like hot sauce called Pepper Plant people put on everything. So added flavorings are all kosher to me - and anchovies fall into that category. Don't really consider them a proper topping so much as an occasional kick.

I doubt Russian leadership will feel "trapped" by their deployment of forces and ramping up of rhetoric, not really an issue for them as it might be for some regimes elsewhere. From their perspective it's quite rational to view things as now-or-never, or at least better/easier now than later.
So Moscow almost certainly feels "trapped" by vital interest and circumstance, not superficial (and often vastly over-emphasized) considerations like "prestige". If Ukraine isn't coerced into some form of "finlandization", at least on the military side, the perceived problem for Russia doesn't go away, it inexorably increases. Thus, better now than later.
