Canadian Truckers Roll In Massive, World-Record-Sized "Freedom Convoy" Against Vaccine Mandates and Passports

70 kilometers long!

The previous record was 5 miles/7.5 km long, so I'd say they have that beat.

Truck drivers in Canada are protesting vaccine mandates on their industry with a massive convoy that may break a world records.

"It's 70 km long," Benjamin Dichter, spokesman for the Freedom Convoy 2022, told the Toronto Sun. "I have seen footage from an airplane. It's impressive."

The Freedom Convoy left from Vancouver for Ottawa on Sunday to protest the federal government's vaccine mandates for cross-border truckers, which took effect on Jan. 15. The Canadian Trucking Alliance estimates that roughly 15% of truckers in the country are not fully vaccinated, or about 16,000 truck drivers.

Because the protest seems popular, the totalitarian leftist blackface enthusiast Justin Trudeau had to smear it:

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said participants of the protest are a "small fringe minority who are on the way to Ottawa who are holding unacceptable views."

"What we are hearing from some people associated with this convoy is completely unacceptable," he continued.

Video of this noisome ponce here.

What he's referring to are these DMs from a single trucker who called a black reporter "slaveblooded" and said that people who oppose the convoy -- "traitors" -- would "swing."

So, based on a pair of DMs from one guy, Trudeau (and the CBC itself) slanders a mass political movement.

Of course. Of course.

I enjoyed Conservative party member Pierre Poilievre's deft rebuttal to the CBC about this attempt to smear the convoy, noting the left, and only the left, always employs the tactic of smearing huge groups of people based on one or two people's statements or actions.

He also notes that the CBC itself has been accused of racial bias; maybe they all should be similarly thought guilty of racial bias?

He doesn't respond to Prime Minister Blackface.

H/t Soothsayer.

By the way, automaker Stellantis had announced a vaccine mandate, then delayed it until January, but now is scrapping the mandate. The pushback seems to be working.

For a long, long time, conservatives have prided themselves on being pro-freedom for business. We would support businesses doing what they wanted to do. The left would pressure businesses to take actions in support of the left -- and we would support whatever businesses did. Including taking actions in support of the left, if the businesses believed that would be the best business decision.

Obviously, this position has been a complete catastrophe and must be renounced, denounced, and reversed 180 degrees. We can no longer be the party who supports businesses no matter what they do, including denigrating and discriminating against conservatives.

We tried to be good friends and protectors to businesses and impose no demands on businesses, while the left demanded they throw us under the bus. So businesses repaid our kindness by deciding the path of least resistance was to drive right the fuck over us.

We went from "Don't Tread on Me" to "Please Use Me As Your Doormat and Toilet Paper."

That ends now.

Frankly, we must begin imposing our own political loyalty tests on businesses. We didn't want to -- we still don't want to -- but when we didn't, when we Let Business Be Business, they eagerly imposed all the left's political loyalty tests on us.

It's time to make businesses dance to the tunes we call. They've shown themselves eager to dance to political jigs; well, dance for us now, monkeys.

Dance.

12 Will to Power games.

It's Larry Correia's switch observation (I think it's Larry Correia who did the post about it) - namely that the Left thinks stuff like this is a dial to turn up and down while for the Right it's a switch. And once that switch is flipped, it doesn't just get flipped back off.

152 Been saying for YEARS, and some, even here, have said I'm nuts... but..

Businesses do not have rights. The people who own them do, but that is different. A business needs a license to even exist, its an artificial legal entity. We ALREADY limit the Freedom of Association 'right' of business, with the Equal opportunity act, whereby we take the business license if they will not do business with protected classes.

ergo, that precedent is set. We need a Law that says if a Business does not support the Bill of Rights, then they can't have a business license.... period.

192 152 Been saying for YEARS, and some, even here, have said I'm nuts...

We need a Law that says if a Business does not support the Bill of Rights, then they can't have a business license.... period.

Posted by: Romeo13

Corporations etc were set up as artificial people so that you could share liability, exercise property rights, write binding contracts, and enforce contracts and property rights via the courts.

Extending the full panoply of natural rights to corporations is something that makes a mockery of the whole concept.

269 I'd like to see U.S. truckers protesting against Covidissimo Anthony Fauci. Maybe a few score big rigs chasing him across a broad, treeless plain...

Gonna' need more information. For example, will he be running exclusively left ? That's gonna' require tire stagger. However, if he's going to zig zag - that will require a balanced setup - probably a stiffer front roll bar, and perhaps some softer rear shocks to snug up the rig on those critical turns where you roll over the little Wop bastard.

---

I'm ashamed that it took me so long to understand why the economic libertarian argument in favor of Walmart - the one we bought hook line and sinker - was so wrong. Cheaper prices are nice for consumers, but it is a false savings when it comes at the cost of your entire employment base, when it destroys your entire social structure by wiping out small business employers. And then it destroyed our manufacturing base by shipping it all overseas. The line that "well people will retrain and get new, better jobs" was always a huge lie - that never happened. The plan was always that everyone goes on welfare and everyone is beholden to the Government for every aspect of their lives from then on.

Yes, 1000 times yes! Local news, sometimes national news once upon a time thought their job was to bring the news into the homes of their viewers. Interviewing the truckers, the supporters, the local community college professor to get their relatively unbiased take on it.

That is what is missing and I couldn't put my finger on why this is all so damn frustrating why there isn't a free flow of information, relatively free from bias, on all the happenings of the day.

This trucker convoy is a huge news story. But it's mostly 'takes' on the story given in news rooms or over video chat with so called experts with a point of view that is definitely one sided.

It works both ways, to the benefit of the left, to not interview participants. Wouldn't want the average person to hear the absolute crazy from the BLM and Antifa nutjobs either.

335 Been waiting for ace to weigh in. IMO this is the shot heard around the world. Truckers roll in and Turdeau, the visible puppet of the Canuckistan State, after dismissing them as a fringe minority, flees pretending to be covid exposed. Look at the optics. This puppet purports to be scared of a basically harmless virus and so avoids facing the 50,000 truckers. He is in fact terrified of the magnificent Truckers and all of their magnificent supporters along their journey - he has seen the face of the People and is shitting in his globalist pants! His excuse of the "virus" is directed to the tiny minority of Canuckistan bolshevik Karens and you know what? Normal people, which is almost everyone else, sees the pussy for what he is - a globalist effeminate worm. I believe this exposes the pansy hiding behind the curtain and also teaches that the demons behind the state rely strictly on deception and trickery, and their "power" is built on a foundation of sand.

338 I don't know how many of you live in/near very small towns. I've lived in areas where EVERYTHING was shut down at 4:30pm. Maybe one gas station store would be open until midnight. On a Friday night, things might shut down even earlier.
_
I do. Grocery store closes at 7.
24 hr gas station here.

I worked at a corporate facility where everyone worked 10 hour days, 7 to 5 M-Thur; that is when we were not working 12 hour days/24 hrs continuous coverage. It sucked. You spent one or two days of your 3 day weekend shopping in a real city 80-100 miles away. During the 12 hour days? You prayed the stop and rob on the interstate had what you needed.

340 I think truckers are going to be hard for the Feds to infiltrate. The Feds are going to have to come up with some wicked plan so the media to trash the Truckers,

341 Anyone else remember "Hands Across America"?

I'm down with Truckers Across America.

Or Canada. Or UK.

East meets West on I-80.
North meets South on I-65.

342 So does Trudeau think he's going to win against this? Because he isn't.

343 I am sorry to tell you this but the truckers will lose. The only acceptable outcome is a change of government and they are not asking for that. Mandates are the symptom. Government is the problem. The best outcome will be the mandates will be temporarily lifted, the truckers will go home and, in about 6-8 weeks they will all be arrested in the middle of the night, quietly, mandates will be restored and nothing will change. If you want to get into politics, play to win unconditionally. Otherwise you are digging your own grave.

344 That's a lot less intimidating now. It the Founders knew Americans were such pussies, they would have refrained from fighting Britain.

Then again, a particularly determined Girl Scout troop could take the Capitol, never mind Parliament.

That's why they made sure they had the support of the French and Spanish empires.Don't really understand this American belief that Americans are tough. High suicide rate, obesity levels through the roof and a servile attitude to the elites are not really signs of a resolute people. The US largely benefited from an open borders policy and being a long way from Europe-once those factors ceased to be as important the US was on its way out.
