The Morning Report - 1/27/22

forgetwelest2.jpg

Good morning, kids. Thursday and of course the semi-confirmed reports of Stephen Breyer's retirement from SCOTUS tops the headlines this morning. I'll be honest with you, I don't really give much of a rat's ass about this for a number of reasons. First of all, in terms of this so-called "balance" on the court - which is rage-inducing in the extreme since there should only be 100% fealty to the U.S. Constitution as written - Breyer will be replaced with another anti-American anti-Constitutionalist, most likely a dusky dame diversity hire with an Ivy League degree made possible only by grading on the extreme end of a bell curve. So, that's a wash, the mood swings of Roberts and the Trump picks notwithstanding.

Second, it seems as if from a procedural standpoint, assuming the vote is a solid 50-50 in the Senate, Veep Throat Harris won't be able to be the tiebreaker and so the seat will be vacant until after the 2022 election. McYertle is a fraud and an asshole, but he likes to play his power games and more crucially, he knows he needs to keep the campaign cash grift going, so he'll do what he can to block the pick and thereby fool the rubes back home into opening their wallets and sending their rapidly devaluing cash.

Most crucially, and most depressingly, given the fact that the republic as founded is indeed dead and gone, what real difference will the court make anyway? Forgetting for a second the fecklessness it has displayed when the chips were well and truly down, and throughout its history. Look at the words and actions of scum like this Kathy Hochul. A court slaps down her face diapering order and she tells schools and other institutions to ignore it. Worse, teachers and others actually listen to her and effectively act as her personal Gestapo and override the court. So to paraphrase the immortal words of Democrat hero and role model Josef Stalin, how many divisions does the Judiciary have? Funny how you never see a Republican governor or other politician tell Hawaiian Judges Buch M. Danno and Tyne E. Bubbles to eff off whenever they rule against them, but I digress. During the Obamacare fight Malig-Nancy Pelosi belched up this puerile bilge about legal and political obstacles:

"You go through the gate. If the gate's closed, you go over the fence. If the fence is too high, we'll pole-vault. If that doesn't work, we'll parachute in. But we are going to get health care reform passed for the American people . . ."

. . . Whether they want it or not, and they didn't want it. In any case, not exactly a glittering example of iambic pentameter but it is illustrative both of the GOP doing nothing for its constituents and the Left's determination to move their agenda. And neither is admirable, especially the latter because what they really mean is "by hook or by crook." Emphasis on the word crook. It's illustrative of the fact that all of this is, and really for many decades has always been, a rigged game. That is the purpose of the one-two punch of the bureaucracy and the court; issue regulations that could never or barely be passed as legitimate Constitutional law in Congress and when the inevitable legal challenge wends its way to SCOTUS, have it rubber stamped and declared kosher, etched in a slab of solid iridium for all time.

Then lather, rinse and repeat until you get to the point where we are today - a nation that outwardly resembles the United States of America (and that illusion is evaporating as we speak) yet in every other way, shape and form is anything but the republic as founded but a banana-in-the-tailpipe republic and getting worse.

So a vacancy on the Supreme Court is, or at least was, a serious matter. But in the grand scheme of things what does it really matter in the here and now? Let's assume the GOP wins back both chambers this November and then maintains both and takes back the White House in 2024. Will we finally have the political will to go with the power to stop the madness let alone reverse course, or will we have the moldering thumb of John McCain pointing in the direction of where his soul now resides? Even still, we have a bureaucracy that will commit mass insubordination and a Judiciary that is more concerned with remaining on the DC cocktail party circuit and avoiding the Antifa Molotov cocktail circuit.

Worst of all, we have a sizable chunk of the population that are unreconstructed, brainwashed automatons - made worse by the mass-psychosis fear induced by the General Tso's Sickness - that are the cadres and foot soldiers that seek our domination and worse, our annihilation not only because we oppose them, but because they recognize in us the absolute folly of their worldview, negated in every way by ours.

On that note, and directly related to the aforementioned, today is Shoah Remembrance Day (I do not use the word holocaust because it's totally wrong). And it's a day worth noting for so many reasons.

The scale, the systemic persecution, and genocide of the Jews by the Nazis make it unique. Casual comparisons to any contemporary occurrences are particularly insensitive to the millions of victims and trivialize its graveness. The 'word' Nazi hence should never be used lightly.

However, occurrences in Germany that led to the Holocaust must be remembered because a thorough knowledge of history it the only way to prevent recurrences.

The citizenry must therefore be vigilant when the powerful attempt to demonize a group as 'deplorable' or blame them for problems by using phrases such as 'pandemic of the unvaccinated' or use pejorative epithets such as 'flyover country'.

When civil liberties encroached upon or access to public places are restricted for 'the greater good' or protesting citizens are deemed 'domestic terrorist' or a break into a government building is called terrorism the citizen must not take it lightly.

When politicians refer to confiscation of guns it must be taken seriously.

When academia, the judiciary, the press, and the entertainment industry relentlessly parrot the narrative of the groupthink the citizen must be attentive.

When wokeness is used to shut down those who don't subscribe to the approved thoughts and vocabulary the citizen must fight back.

While the nation may be light years away from Nazi Germany, it takes a few steps to begin a journey.

Being a passive spectator results in the emboldening of totalitarians. The citizen therefore must, be attentive and fearless proponents for freedom.

The essay is an excellent summary of what happened yet it's disappointing in that the author, while highlighting everything that happened in the run up to the Final Solution which mirrors a frighteningly large number of things happening right here and right now, still has to include a caveat about not using the word "Nazi" lightly.

Look at the actions of just Anthony Fauci alone, not merely in dare I say it actually creating the Chinese Coronavirus and then using it as a pretext to work with individuals from Bill Gates to George Soros to Xi Jinping so they could rejigger society on a global scale.

Anthony Fauci, among others, has actually been indicted at the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity. I defy you to try and find that anywhere in the state-controlled agitprop media. I link the lengthy PDF of the indictment here, so we'll see how long Google Drive keeps it up.

Going back 40 years, Fauci conducted experiments on the so-called AIDS orphans, children of the poor and indigent (primarily non-white) that resulted in their deaths.

Today, he and his co-conspirator Francis Collins not only conspired to keep the Chinese origins of this amped-up Frankenstein virus a secret, and then not only demonized the use of therapeutics but conducted a rigged clinical trial where he gave subjects lethal doses of ivermectin and/or HCQ and then used that to claim that both were dangerous and ineffective, thereby keeping them from being used to stop this thing cold two years ago. Meanwhile, both have pimped highly suspicious vaccines plus boosters forever that are proving to be at best marginally effective and worse, causing hideous side effects including death. Not just of a handful of people but now into the thousands. And that is being covered up.

Add to that the unnecssersy deaths of thousands of vulnerable yet uninfected elderly nursing home residents at the hands of Cuomo, Murphy, Whitmer et al and you are talking actual state-sponsored mass-murder.

Now look not only at Australia, but right here in the former United States of America where a good sized chunk of the Democrat voting base wants the unvaccinated put into camps. Sure, crying "Nazi" in a crowded theater isn't Hoyle to some.

But if it walks like a Mengele, talks like a Mengele and more crucially is doing virtually everything that a Mengele would do, at least at the outset, then the "N" word utters itself. And that is where we are: at the outset.

Did I mention using the legal, police and military assets of the government to spy on, demonize and intimidate civilians who oppose, not just this, but everything from open borders to transexual rapists in the schools to the mass-indoctrination with crude racist propaganda that is on par with the words of Mein Kampf and Die Sturmer?

If this is not zee time to say Nazi, when is?

OT, but there is a silver lining: Estrada is now a Liz Cheney supporter, so...spit!

21 It is inescapable, and impossible for any thinking person not to observe the same rhetoric and techniques that all totalitarian collectivist regimes have employed. It is always the same, whether Rwanda or Cambodia or China or Germany or Russia or Yugoslavia or Cuba or anywhere else.

They first have to "otherize" a class of persons, whether based on ethnic or religious or political characteristics, and use the force and authority of government to do it.

"Balance" on the court is a joke and a sick one. There are so few good judges that you can assume they're all bad. For the next non-communist pick, the president should show the institution the respect it deserves just like Caligula showed the Roman Senate the respect *it* deserved.

68 The citizenry must therefore be vigilant when the powerful attempt to demonize a group as 'deplorable' or blame them for problems by using phrases such as 'pandemic of the unvaccinated' or use pejorative epithets such as 'flyover country'.

When civil liberties encroached upon or access to public places are restricted for 'the greater good' or protesting citizens are deemed 'domestic terrorist' or a break into a government building is called terrorism the citizen must not take it lightly.

++++
Gunfire and gas chambers are only a matter of time when this happens. When the state declares a group to be sub-human, it is the inevitable outcome. This is worse in every way than having two classes of citizens (like you could argue we had under Jim Crow), because even in those systems there are defined rights and acknowledged humanity. When you have citizens and non-humans, anything goes. First you dehumanize, then you isolate, then you group together, then you execute. We're not at the ghettoization stage yet, but it's next.

69 Good morning everyone. Thank you J.J.
SAINT OF THE DAY
St. Angela Merici (1474 -1540) was born in the region of Lombardy, Italy. Her parents died when she was ten. Angela went to live with her uncle, and, despite lacking a formal education, she grew in wisdom and virtue. She committed herself to prayer, penance, and serving the poor, eventually joining the Third Order of St. Francis at the age of fifteen. When her uncle died she returned to her home, and, seeing a great need for the education of young girls in the Christian faith, began a school for girls in her house. She daily gathered all the little girls of her village and taught them the faith. St. Angela became known for her holiness. One day while in prayer she received a vision that she would start a religious order intended for the religious education of girls. This was realized when St. Angela founded the Ursulines under the patronage of St. Ursula. St. Angela Merici is the patron saint against illness, death of parents, and of the disabled and handicapped. Her feast day is January 27.

Helots have all their needs provided to them by Uncle Sam, but you get no vote, you work the job you are given when and where you are given it, you may not possess money in any form on pain of exile or death, etc. Let them live the stalinist dream they wish for so long as they leave everyone else the fuck alone. Everyone else, you have your liberty, but your risks and liabilities are yours and yours alone.

You don't feel safe? You think life is unfair? Sign up at your local Helot Affairs Office and shut the fuck up. You think being a Helot is no fun? You want to thrive and prosper and grow as a person? Well then sign back up as a citizen, get your shit together, and shut the fuck up.

I don't either, Fenelon. But the steps, somehow, must begin. The most obvious way to start is for states to assert their full Constitutional powers as states, and break away from the wholly corrupt (and lawless) federal gov't. That's for starters. Each state unto his own with Constitutional rights bestowed to its citizens as intended. For those abortion zealots, global warming zealots, gov't is Daddy zealots, let them construct their Constitutions accordingly. The tether to this foul, corrupt federal gov't must be broken. Then states can go their own way as they see fit, with citizens flocking to whatever they align with ideologically. We go nowhere but down unless a move is made in some direction. That's all I gots...

For too long though, we've been hoodwinked into this notion that the only possible qualifications are an ivy league education. The really "smart" people will let us know what the constitution means.

Now they have "pivoted the language", and somehow even rule by technocrats with phony balogna degrees is insufficient, only characteristics like race or internal plumbing are acceptable, when coupled with "life experiences".

So we see the absurdity of a vacant seat being reserved for a "black female".

Now they just have to find one. Although strangely enough, if said nominee is a conservative, then she isn't really black, and isn't really she. The racist Biden will 'splain this to you, H8er

That level of inhumanity is impossible for most people. The way they get to that level is to make the target non-man, sub-man. They can't just be different people, they have to be non-people. They *must* be untermenschen or you won't get enough people to go along with it. No one will round up his neighbors and send them to camps to die (or kill them directly in a general melee like happened in Rwanda) if they view their neighbors as people.

If they view them as animals - and vicious, dangerous animals at that - then they can be convinced to do so, and even do so enthusiastically. The institutional and government-back "otherization" and dehumanization are always the first step down the road to industrial-scale slaughter.

53-47 is not some overwhelming argument that she needs to be rubber stamped onto SCOTUS either. That's "We barely let her onto a lower court," not, "She's so obviously qualified at being a justice that we all thought she was dandy for a lower court."

It actually makes the fight against her more possible than less.

One of the fundamental pillars of examination for SCOTUS should be judicial philosophy. Their job will be to uphold the Constitution based on fundamental legal precepts and methods. That can all be obtained from rulings, and whether or not those rulings stood up to scrutiny from other courts (generally). When you start getting overruled unanimously, and when people find your decisions outside the mainstream, that is constitutionally unfounded, you should be disqualified. The problem is that Republicans aren't courageous or smart enough to make these arguments

477 Mornin', all,

Doing some actual work this day! I also have a manuscript to review for my writing group tonight. I've marked it up, but I like to go over the things again just before the meeting to refresh my memory. This guy uses words pretty well, but he has a problem with transitions between scenes. He also has poor ideas about how human beings behave. (Typical for a leftist.) He has his male lead and his wife go out and chop some wood (actual tree wood, I mean) *before* they welcome each other in bed. After several months apart. No; just, no.

He also has his male lead ride his full-sized horse into a small shop, for no reason at all that I can see. A real horseman would tie the animal up outside, go in himself, and then if he needs the horse to kick open a door, untie and lead the beast in. You don't ride him in, ducking all the way (a small shop would have a low ceiling), dismount, and leave him standing in the middle of someone's shop, do you?

515 The divorce is the much nastier part. I can't tell any details but the fight is prolonged and nasty. The longer the fight goes, the more certain it will be I will be financially insolvent and then the ex-wife will blame me for "abusing" her by not giving her even more than I already have since the divorce began. It's utter madness.
Posted by: Homer's Donuts at January 27, 2022 09:32 AM (BCSAN)

So, it's like a normal contentious divorce - lawyers get rich and the divorcees are poor.

I'm really sorry for you and your family. If at all possible, I always recommend to those in the divorcing situation to start deciding what you must have and what you can give away, and then see if you can just agree in a single sit down. You can never win, so it's all about limiting the immense losses to getting must haves. The longer the fight, the higher the losses (financial, emotional, stress on health, etc) to everyone.

Why McConnell isn't going tit-for-tat against Schumer after Schumer's extreme dilatory tactics with respect to each and every one of Trump's appointees is inexplicable.

Even when you grant that McConnell didn't want to give Trump his administration appointees, Schumer did the exact same thing on judges.

This writer also has trouble visualizing and making clear where his characters are and how they move in rooms. He actually has a Kung Fu-style fight in another story, 1 guy against 5, and he has it take place *in* a small peasant hut. Again: No. I advised him to make it 1 against 3, and in any case to move the fight outdoors. The hero would want the room even if the antagonists don't.

I said, "You really need to plan out the movements of your characters in your mind, as if you were blocking out their movements on a stage." He doesn't want to bother with that.

Why so provocative Jack? You know the complaint is "Nothing has happened", not "nothing is happening".

We all really wished these various investigations had borne fruit in 2018, to stop the coup against Trump, but they did not. In fact, the Trump presidency was hamstrung by these fraudulent efforts all the way through to Fauci's bioweapon started killing people.
A very successful fraud, completely unimpeded by the Durham investigation. That's the complaint.

And you are trying to lecture me about what I don't know.

Sussman has been indicted, as has been Danchenko (I had forgotten about that one - I did know it, really, but since nothing is happening with it - again, the first hearing won't be until May). But neither of those guys are big fish. And they aren't going to roll over on any big fish because the worst they can expect as a sentence is probation and community service. Sure, big fish show up in their discovery, but they aren't going to be charged, much less face even probation.

528 Warren wrote that Amazon's failure "to prevent the spread of falsehoods or the sale of inappropriate products" is "an unethical, unacceptable, and potentially unlawful course of action from one of the nation's largest retailers."
_____________

So Lieawatha used her official Senate stationery to write a letter to Amazon basically accusing them of breaking the law by publishing a book Warren doesn't like (because it tells the truth).

Warren is in direct violation of a Supreme Court precedent, and her lawyers are defending her by claiming (1) sovereign immunity [which does not apply here] (2) that the plaintiffs lack standing [bullshit as they were directly harmed by Warren's actions since booksellers stopped selling the book as a result of Warren's letter] and (3) the Speech and Debate clause of the constitution protects Warren [also bullshit, as the SCOTUS case directly on point says Warren had no right to do this]

I hope the plaintiffs demand a jury trial, and get awarded billions. These abuses of power have to stop.

534 Not sure if anyone watched that Brit show, The Repair Shop. It's (oddly enough) about a repair shop in the English countryside that takes in peoples' treasured but broken antiques and brings them back to life. One episode, a woman brought in her aunt's violin. It was pretty beaten up and badly patched, but clearly loved and cared for as best a layman could do.

Turns out she was a violinist in Europe in 1939. A Jew, she ended up in Auschwitz, but her musical prowess saved her life. She survived the war as part of the "welcome band" that the SS placed at the front of the camp, knowing that the sound of music would calm those just arriving in boxcars.

The damage done to the violin was repaired in the camp by the aunt with whatever scraps she could manage. It was a bittersweet episode of the show, revealing both the human spirit as well as its depravity all in one.

535 People who say you shouldn't use the word Nazi lightly are frequently sympathetic to Nazis. Godwin's Law is a logical fallacy of the worst order.

People make comparisons to Hitler and Nazis, because that's what human beings do, they compare things to each other to decide how good/bad that thing might be. They use extremes, because the human brain is a difference engine. It's trying to find a clear-cut choice between two options. When there are more than two options, you naturally pare the options down to two. if the differences are not clear, you will begin to rationalize the differences so that they become clear. This is normal and natural and why most people say things like, "We have a two party system" even though there are more than two parties.

So, don't be a Nazi and tell people not to compare you to Nazis.
