Despite Intense Lobbying By the Democrat Faithful of the Media, Sinema Rules Out Any Change to the Filibuster Rules

Sinema says she won't budge on the filibuster, even if that results in Biden's bills being blocked.

Manchin also says that he hasn't changed his mind on the filibuster.

Oh wait, my bad -- those two articles are from June, 2021, and October, 2021, respectively.

Sinema and Manchin have said approximately one hundred times each that they're not voting to get rid of the filibuster, which doesn't stop Democrats from asking them every single week or even every single day.

And when I say "Democrats ask them if they've changed their minds every single day," I mean of course "The media asks them if they've changed their minds every single day."

The Democrat Party Orthodoxy Enforcement Officers of the leftwing propaganda press want Sinema and Manchin to know that if they don't change their minds, people will be very, very angry with them and Democracy May Die in Darkness.

John Ekdahl has been pointing out the "non-partisan" media's increasingly-desperate lobbying efforts:

Let me point out that constantly asking the same question is activism: When CNN keeps running stories, day after day, that ABC has not yet fired Roseanne Barr for her "racist" comments about Valerie Jarrett, they are lobbying ABC to fire Roseanne. They are keeping up a negative publicity campaign against ABC until ABC fires Roseanne. That is the only way CNN will stop the relentless negative PR campaign, and ABC knows that.

Likewise, the leftwing media is running a negative PR campaign against Sinema and Manchin. Why haven't you changed your vote yet? They are putting Sinema and Manchin on notice that this negative activist press campaign will continue forever, unless and until they give in to the press' political lobbying and give the press' preferred candidate a political win that they can then crow about on Twitter to Own the Cons.

There's no news value in "nothing new to report." The reason to report the same thing day after day is to attempt to pressure someone into a change.

This is not journalism. This is political activism.

Sinema rejected the pressure to change her mind, just as she's rejected it every single day for the past 365 days.

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema said Thursday that she will not vote to weaken the Senate's 60-vote filibuster threshold, bucking her party leaders yet again and dealing a major blow to Democrats' election reform effort.

Election reform effort.

By the way, this is the "Fair and Balanced" Fox.

The comments, which match Sinema's long-held stance on the filibuster, are effectively the final nail in the coffin of Democrats' longshot effort to pass two elections bills over unified Senate GOP opposition.

"There's no need for me to restate my longstanding support for the 60-vote threshold to pass legislation. There's no need for me to restate its role in protecting our country from wild reversals of federal policy," Sinema, D-Ariz., said.

"No need to restate?" Sure there is. The media is going to ask you again tomorrow, might as well get it on the record again.

"This week's harried discussions about Senate rules are but a poor substitute for what I believe could have and should have been a thoughtful public debate at any time over the past year."

She added: "But what is the legislative filibuster, other than a tool that requires new federal policy to be broadly supported by senators, representing the broader cross-section of Americans... Demands to eliminate this threshold from whichever party holds the fleeting majority amount to a group of people separated on two sides of a canyon, shouting that solution to their colleagues."

Video of her speech here.

Below, the raging, impotent, angry, senile old imbecile Biden admits his "voting rights" effort is dead -- he admits the effort failed, and says he'll try again in the future -- then yells a lot to show he's still got Stronk.

A man who has Stronk does not need to yell "Look at all my Stronk!"

17 They (the media) want to be the first to break the story that they flipped and hope that they can claim they helped them change their mind.

I'm surprised they've held out this long. They must be getting promised everything including the kitchen sink. When I asked when they would be getting another neurologist they said they weren't because no nurses.

Hopefully my oncologist will refill my prescriptions that aren't directly tied to the blood cancer I have. If not, welp. Thanks for nothing Supreme Court. 110 Here's the thing; we don't KNOW that Sinema isn't being told to do this so that the Dems can blame the Repubs for the lack of the voting steal. And the infrastructure steal.

They've got other reasons for not pushing them but if the filibuster was removed then they'd have not choice they would have to vote and vote yes and of course the puppet would sign it.

Just as some Repubs don't vote for something on instruction of the leadership cause they don't want it to pass and cause them trouble or whatever. Sinema is pretty well setup for now with her constituency and can take some hits. Especially if later she gets some really good deal from having held this up for the leadership. they owe her and she'll use that to get reelected. yeah I'm inclined to think this is on orders. Now Manchin? Manchin is trying to set up a power base I believe.

Or even better it goes into effect in 2027 but you only get to pass something with 51 votes once. Then in 2028, twice, then in 2029 it goes away fully.

Or something like that. Make it so that neither side gets a big advantage from it that the other side then doesn't, by being first.

154 Nuking the 60-vote threshold would dramatically reduce the overall power of every senator. This is why it's never had much of a chance, and the effort to change it goes way back, peaks every so often. Sinema and Manchin both are politically positioned where it helps them - or at least not taking their current position could hurt them, in their own states - but there are almost certainly many "free votes" against, hiding in the Dem caucus, that are not needed thanks to them.

But the Dem side barely even corresponds to the normal and historical pattern any longer, a truly weird and frightening thing.

When Obama spit in the Senate's face with recess appointment fuckery, it took a GOP lawsuit to address the issue. Unthinkable until that point - any such behavior by a previous WH would have been smacked down by a unified Senate, in hours. The unstated but key element of the various powers jealously guarding their prerogatives, so important to the divided power model, has simply vanished among many Dems.

The inside story is (take this for what it's worth) that the lesser bloated bill ('bipartisan infrastructure') was being held up because the radical left wanted 'election reform' and BBB as well.

With the whole agenda stalled, a dozen GOP reps pushed the infrastructure bill through the House and it sailed through the Senate. Ace (and everybody else) denounced this is treason, but the political types insist that it was 4d chess because the left got *nothing* and also lost its leverage.

The rest of the time 1995 to 2006 and 2011 to 2021 (21 years) the Reps had less than filibuster proof majorities. Unless they plan to make Brooklyn, D.C., and Puerto Rico states.

I didn't like John Glenn when I was a kid. To me he gave up one of the most amazing and singular career fields in the history of mankind to be a politician.

Alan Shepard got stuffed in a Mercury capsule bolted to the top of a Redstone ICBM in 1961 and went into space. 10 years later in 1971, he walked on the moon.

Glenn gets his chance in the Mercury program and since he was already pissy with Shepard and the other astronauts concerning their running around on their wives, he decides to head off for the money trough while claiming he's taking one for the team by fighting for the space program in Congress.

He capped off his career by trading his vote and support for another trip into space before he died courtesy of Slick Willie and his Amazing Favor Machine.

346 I'm not sure if foreign powers are afraid of Joe Biden or not.

But I do know this, I would not want to be found on his lawn uninvited.

Oh we like him. Or liked him. But he's said a few things that have rubbed a lot of folks the wrong way and if it's any indication of his inner perspective then he problematic for being a President who will act instinctively for the nation and not for a party or by coercion. Or by misplaced judgement.

I'm not sure either but I'm pretty sure I used to have it. It must leak out the older you get.

353 303. Gref Horse ivermectin comes in a paste that is preloaded into a plastic dosage syringe and it is syringed directly into their mouth. The liquid Ivomec or Durvet is loaded into a cattle appropriate syringe and injected subcutaneously typically while the cow is immobilized in a cattle chute.

354 Helena Handbasket, nobody uses it sub-q. There are only two acceptable methods for humans. The paste or the what is the injectable taken in a liquid.

356 Jen , there anywhere from 5 to 7 different innoculations loaded in those syringes and nobody manning that station is going to sub-q some snot slinging bitch. Straight in quickly is how it works in the pens.

That is NOT the paste version. The paste version is meant to be taken by mouth. It is delivered in a quasi injector set up to squeeze out a measured amount of paste at each delivery. The injector can be setup up prior to use to inject a set amount depending on the size of the animal. the injector is marked making it easy to setup. This works on humans too as one takes account of the entire injector delivered is for an animal of 1,250 lbs. it has "clicks" set in the injector that mark a dose for an x size animal. I think it's divided by 4 or 5 and then subdived in between so one can hit the mark fairly accurately for a known weight of animal or human. The percent of ivermectin per dose is the same for human. 358 I can't imagine the convolutions they go through at the Pentagon to ensure they're receiving rational orders from the White House.

None.

Given the nonsense they cooked up all on their own for fleeing Afghanistan I think Jill Biden's orders are likely to be better than they come up with.
