The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“We expect substitute teachers to uphold the same high standards of conduct and professionalism as our full-time educators,” Lakeland High Superintendent Frederick Heid.

Quote II

"When I receive the images it makes you feel a bit dirty and you start thinking, 'why me? Why have they sent them to me, is it something I've done'?" Ex-topless model, Jess Davies

Quote III

“I mean, they probably offered him some good money. I don’t know, maybe he said to himself, they just had Jeffrey Toobin jerking off on a zoom meeting, and they didn’t really fire him, so that’s probably a good place to work. You can jerk off on your zoom and not get fired.” Howard Stern commenting on Chris Wallace

Quote IV

“It kind of goes back to your rights. I have the right to carry and I have the right to protect myself and I have the right to protect my property. “Protect yourself. That doesn’t mean go looking for it, that means just be ready.” Homeowner,Jerahme Smith

Remember when President Bush I was ridiculed for his lack of knowledge about scanners at the grocery store? Crickets, when the "San Francisco Headhunter" doesn't know about recharging an EV.

'How Do I Know It's Actually Working?' Kamala Harris Stymied By Soundless Electric Car Plug

Oh, oh, it’s magic!

Actually, it’s electricity. Which, to Vice President Kamala Harris, might as well be magic – considering she was recently stymied by how an electric car is able to charge up without making a sound or emitting a smell.

In a publicity stunt meant to push the Biden administration’s green "Build Back Better" agenda, which encourages Americans struggling under higher gas prices to run out and buy $50,000electric vehicles, Harris performed the arduous task of plugging a battery-powered car into a charging station…then stood back and marveled at how the energy was able to go from the station to the vehicle.

Is this really a legitimate piece of legislation? Or is South Dakota's Gov. Noem angling for higher office? Noem to Propose Bill Restricting Participation in Female Sports to Biological Women

South Dakota governor Kristi Noem has announced a bill that would restrict participation in female sports to biological women at the collegiate and grade school levels.

“This is about fairness,” Noem said in a statement she shared with Fox News. “Every young woman deserves an equal playing field where she can achieve success, but common sense tells us that males have an unfair physical advantage over females in athletic competition. It is for those reasons that only girls should be competing in girls’ sports.”

All aboard, Choo-Choo! That's quite the train ride.

You can now travel from Lagos in Portugal all the way to Singapore, say rail experts - with a few stops along the way.

Analysis by rail blogger Mark Smith, aka The Man in Seat 61, and Reddit users calculated that the 11,654-mile journey could be done in 21 days.

In a former lifetime I drove company cars that were Toyota. I thought they were a decent ride. This feature is Bull shit!

Automakers keep trying to get a piece of that sweet, sweet subscription income. Now, it’s Toyota’s turn.

Nearly every car company offers some sort of subscription package, and Toyota has one called Remote Connect. The service offers the usual fare, letting owners use an app to remotely lock their doors, for example, or if they own a plug-in vehicle, to precondition the interior. But as some complimentary subscriptions for Remote Connect come to an end, Toyota owners are getting an unexpected surprise—they can no longer use their key fob to remote-start their vehicles.

Are we really the United States of America? How seriously should we take talk of US state secession?

One troubling sign of our deteriorating civic mood is the shocking breadth of support for secession in the United States. At a time of widespread polarization—where people are arguing over a supposedly stolen election, vaccine mandates, mask-wearing, and the reality of climate change—a September 2020 Hofstra University poll found that “nearly 40 percent of likely voters would support state secession if their candidate loses.” This was followed by a YouGov and Bright Line Watch survey last June that revealed that 37% of Americans supported a “willingness to secede” when asked: “Would you support or oppose [your state] seceding from the United States to join a new union with [list of states in new union]?” Support for doing this was highest in the South and among Republicans.

How can we remain united when one's position is to destroy property of others?

A driver for the grocery delivery service Instacart allegedly smashed an elderly couple’s groceries and left a nasty note on their receipt because of their yard sign supporting the local police department.

The incident reportedly took place in Blaine, Minnesota. According to a Facebook post written by a relative, the elderly couple ordered a “carefully budgeted” $50 of groceries to be delivered to their home last Sunday.

“This past year has been a rollercoaster of heartache and big life changes for them. Money is tight. Vulnerability is high,” wrote Amber Gray

Perhaps Tara needs to stop coloring her hair purple. The brain damage appears to be irreversible.

Monday's ONT covered Time Magazine's Person of The Year, Elon Musk. The following story centers around the Tesla Pick Up Truck, which isn't.

The Tesla Cybertruck may or may not ever exist, but its utility as a money magnet appears solid. Now, an aftermarket camper concept has cleared $100 million in preorders.

Stream It Inc. rolled out its own Tesla Cybertruck camper concept earlier this year. The CyberLandr looked ambitious in renderings, with swiveling, nesting parts everywhere and a spa-inspired bathroom.

By Dec. 8, $100 million in reservations had piled up in anticipation for the camper, which still doesn’t appear to exist in any non-digital form. Sound familiar? We thought so too.

Not the purchase for me.

While you are shopping for non-existent camping gear, you may as well throw the portable generator on that list, if you are in California.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) passed a regulation aimed at “Small Off-Road Engines” on Thursday that will ban the sale of portable generators in the state — which includes generators mounted in recreational vehicles.

The ruling bans the sale of gas-powered leaf blowers and lawnmowers in the state beginning in 2024. Portable generators will be required to meet more stringent standards in 2024 and meet zero-emission standards starting in 2028.

Using the SNL "Church Lady's" voice. Could it be the vaccine?

another fit and healthy sports star has been struck down with health problems mid-game.

This time, Manchester United soccer player Victor Lindelof was forced to abandon a game on Saturday after he suddenly began suffering from chest pains.

Lindelof said he was struggling to breathe and was clutching his chest in pain.

Lindelof left the pitch to receive medical help during United’s 1-0 win over Norwich on Saturday.

Lindelof joins dozens of other athletes worldwide who have suffered some form of “mysterious” chest pain or even cardiac arrest.

Teacher of The Year. What possibly could go wrong with that?

A Fairview Elementary School teacher was arrested Monday in Tennessee and charged with nine counts of aggravated sexual battery, especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a child, eight counts of rape, incest and eight counts of rape of a child. Two victims who are minors were reported by District Attorney General Brent Cooper. Neither are students at Fairview Elementary.

Hell hath no fury like a scornedwoman Genius Award Winner.

A 76-year-old Florida Woman was arrested yesterday for allegedly targeting her ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend in an auto vandalism spree that employed oil, pink lipstick, and a dead raccoon.

According to police, Patsy Murrell vandalized the cars in late-September, three months after her relationship with Stephen Hughes, 74, ended. Hughes’s new girlfriend, an arrest affidavit notes, is Michelle Busman-Baio, 64.

Investigators charge that Murrell damaged the vehicles while they were parked at night outside Hughes’s home in Largo, a city in the Tampa Bay area.

Hughes’s 2011 Chrysler had oil poured into its air vents and the words “Loves Kinkey Sex” and “Wominzer” written on the windows in pink lipstick. The auto also sustained damage to its rear bumper, allegedly when Murrell rammed the car with her vehicle. The estimate to repair Hughes’s ride was about $1600, cops noted

A dead raccoon? That's an A for creativity.

A man with a big heart. Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

An Indian plastic surgeon is being praised as a hero without a cape after spending much of his life performing over 37,000 free procedures to correct children’s cleft palates and cleft lips.

According to the CDC, cleft lip and cleft palate are birth defects that occur when a baby’s lip or mouth do not form properly during pregnancy. These defects cause a variety of problems, which range from the inability to access milk as babies, to bullying and discrimination later on in life. Both birth defects can be corrected with the help of plastic surgery, but these procedures are, unfortunately, not available to the poor families who need them most. In India, one plastic surgeon has emerged as the benefactor of tens of thousands of babies and children, correcting their cleft lips or cleft palate for free, and thus giving them the chance at a much better life

67 You know, as a 29 year old about town who enjoys looking at naked women online (and in real life, where applicable) I have never once thought of sending one of the lovely ladies a dick pic. Why?

This actually brings up something that one of them youtubers was bringing up about the dangers of para-social groups on line where he was pointing out the superchat competition that fans of a particular creator(s) will get into to get their messages read. In other words, the fans comes to believe that they have a close personal relationship with the creator and therefore it becomes more than just sending an appreciative buck their way, but more an expression for the depth of feeling.

Not sure I necessarily agree with his arguments, just that it is interesting.

Thanks for the ONT.

All I can come up with is that those who do it are men who know absolutely nothing at all about women, and have very little experience with the real thing. Is this old? I went looking for her previous statements where she failed to stand up to the left on this issue and I found this from April 2021 - https://bit.ly/3m4PlF4

South Dakota's Republican Gov. Kristi Noem banned transgender girls and women from competing on women's sports teams at public high schools and colleges via a pair of executive orders issued Monday.

Reading that closer, these were executive orders. This new news is she is pushing legislation. So now I'm confused. I thought she was criticized a while back for surrendering this issue to the left?

South Dakota's GOP governor declined on Friday to sign a bill from legislators in her own party that would have banned transgender girls from participating in women's high school sports.

In a statement released on Twitter, Noem said that she was sending the bill back to lawmakers for changes, and indicated that she thought the ban should not be extended to college athletes.

"Unfortunately, as I have studied this legislation and conferred with legal experts over the past several days, I have become concerned that this bill's vague and overly broad language could have significant unintended consequences," Noem wrote.

"I am also concerned that the approach House Bill 1217 takes is unrealistic in the context of collegiate athletics," she added, writing that banning transgender athletes from collegiate sports would cause conflict with national college athletic associations.

127 I am about 1/3 through a recent Chinese movie on Amazon Prime about their version of our SEALs, titled "Operation Red Sea."

Chinese warships and SEALs fighting Somali pirates who take a Chinese container ship is the opening, with bulk of the movie being the exploits of a SEAL company rescuing Chinese citizens from an Al Queda-type Islamic terrorist outfit attacking the capital of a fictional Arab country, taking Chinese diplomats hostage.

Samples of dialogue so far:
"Ti Long, show them Hell!"
"American, save my children!" (The Chinese IED specialist this is said to is visibly taken-aback by this exclamation from a civilian he had just removed a necklace-bomb from...a strange line; are they trying to show Chinese troops as the same as American warrior humanitarians, or what?)
"Let's show these terrorists they cannot take Chinese civilians hostage!"

Production overall and the SFX are very good. The Chinese SEALS are shown equipped with about 25 different configurations of auto-rifles and sniper rifles. weapons. Why I have no idea.

How soon will there be Chinese movies of their troops fighting against Capitalist Running-Dog Americans?

143 Instead of wading into the mud to wrestle with the pig, there is a much simpler solution to the sports "gender equity" debate.

Just make two divisions. One is XX only, the other is Open.

You don't get to validate your gender insanity at the expense of actual hard-working female athletes.

We won't call them boys and girls sports (or male and female), so no one is mis-gendering the swimmer from Penn that still has all of his boy bits intact.

He is free to wallow in his own delusion to his heart's content. It is not my call to burst his bubble, nor is it my call to endorse his delusion. However, if his blood test shows XY, then he must compete in the Open division.

219 To whom it may concern at Bojangjes customer relations,

At the bottom of your receipt, you invite customers to leave feedback on our visits to your stores. I can only assume this invitation is not disingenuous, so I will do so now.

I had the occasion to visit store # 947 in Knoxville, TN this evening at roughly 9:15 pm, and used the drive-thru service. It took your team about 15 minutes to process my order and my fries were cold.

Wait! Before you chalk this up to a bad review, allow me to explain. When I pulled into line, there was a minivan ahead of me at the speaker ordering, that had, as near as I can tell from their silhouettes, a couple of really old, fat bastards in it. Nothing against fat people, mind you. I could stand to lose a little weight myself, so no judgement. But they were objectively-speaking morbidly obese. The type of folks that die when they get COVID.

Anyway, so these large people are ordering, I can tell it's a complicated order, because there has a lot of back and forth between the fat guy driving and the chunky chick in the passenger seat, and then the fat guy would relay what the large woman said and so on and so forth. So this goes on for like a good four or five minutes before they complete the order.

I hate this type of person, they're the "pull forward" customers. You know what I mean, they pay and then you have to tell them to pull forward and wait and you'll walk their shit out to them when it's finally ready, but it the meantime you can process three or four normal customers, so you need them to move their fat asses out of the way to make that happen.

I hate people like that at the bank, too. The drive-thru is for simple deposits or withdrawals, not fucking mortgage payments, not checking on your loan approval status, not dumping the weekly gross receipts from your business. That's what the lobby is for, go in the damned lobby. Christ on a cracker.

Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, the fat-ass, pull-forward motherfuckers. They were a big part of why it took so long to process my order and get my order ready. Not anything your crew did wrong.

So I order the old number 10 combo, the Cajun chicken sandwich with fries and a Diet Pepsi. Not to be confused with the Ol' number 6 (That's where I come riding through your drive thru, a whoppin' and a whoopin' every living thing in sight to within an inch of its life, before raping the women folk at the Number 6 dance).

It's all good, polite voice on the speaker, we conclude our order transaction in like maybe 25-30 seconds like normal customers. I pull up to the window with my money ready and it takes the crew inside about 5 minutes before anyone comes to take my cash, but I'm watching, window down, listening and I see those pull-forward sons-of-bitches pulled forward.

No call ahead, nothing. I guess they just figure you guys just magically fart chick out your ass in command.

So anyway, the crew is understandably scrambling, try to restock side dishes, fry that chicken, etc.

Finally this really big black kid comes over to the window and says "Sorry it's taking so long, sir. It'll be $8.22.", real polite like. Nice kid. He was kind of calming everyone down. Her Majesty had an 11 hour drive yesterday to try to get to Orlando before 9:00 PM. When she had to fill up with gas, she had to wait 10 minutes at the pump for some obese couple to come waddling out with their Big Gulps and move their car.

In consequence thereof, she arrived at her destination at 9:06 PM. The union crew had locked the gate promptly at 9:00, so she had to dry camp in the parking lot until they returned at 7:00 this morning.

Posted by: Javems

I've seen a driver take seemingly hours to complete an order at the speaker/mike station, and when he/she gets to the window there's a seemingly hours-long wait before an employee hands one drink and one small bag of food to the driver. Did the driver order a burger made from fresh-killed-and-ground beef with an off-menu topping that requires 20 minutes of preparation? Or WHAT? File these not-infrequent occurrences under Mysteries That Will Never Be Rationally Explained.

She did a lot of things right - but she caved in to the Trannie Crowd when her donors told her she had to. Also she thought that's the way the wind was blowing. She waited way too long for the blowback to come back before coming up with a new bill; she could have had it ready the day after she vetoed it, but she tried to ignore it for 6 months until her pollsters told her she needed to do something about it.

I do give her credit for at least being astute enough to realize she made a big mistake; but I will never forget that in her heart, she's not really with us. If in the future she ever has to choose between us and her Corporate Donors, she's going with them.

I know. Why?

She kept her state open the entire pandemic. More than pretty much any other governor in the country including DeSantis. Remember the Sturgis rally she got hammered for that turned out to be fake?

She didn't like the specific legislation that reached her desk because she thought it was poorly written and could hurt SD universities with the NCAA and asked for it to be more carefully constructed. That does not make her untrustworthy.

She is one of the best governors in the country. We don't have that many actual fighters on our side. We should be more careful about tossing away good ones.

Yet I accomplished everything my bosses told me to do, and I never had one of them complain about my work. I received awards that I thought at the time, and believe to this day, I did not deserve. Conversely, I truly cherish our Christmas in October, and welcome all the noise, clamor, clinking, yakking, shooting and most of all, the LOVE.

Surely, I celebrate the birth of our Savior in December, as observed. And find it a time of quiet introspection, because it is then, really, that the world was changed by ONE, single birth. I dwell and meditate on that, and soak in the olde hymns. Rejoicing, but it's bone deep in the soul. October though, is when the Family gathers. And, y'all are FAMILY. Biden was selected primarily because of his flaws, particularly that he can't even tie his shoes.

He's not the leader of the Democrats. He's the puppet of the Democrats. And they won because of a rigged election, not unity of party. The allegedly divided Republican Party cast more votes for DT than any in history.

I was out most of the afternoon, so I missed the Blumenthal thread. The CPUSA wasn't some romantic group dedicated to social justice. They were the lickspittle toadies of Stalin and followed the Comintern line slavishly. They were anti-Nazi until August, 1939, then anti-war until July, 1941. They purged from their ranks anyone Moscow told them to. They helped the NKVD spy on this country.

They should have been arrested, imprisoned and deported, not celebrated by ignoramuses like Blumenthal.

537 Miklos. Herself New Dawn grew up there in Belfast, all through The Troubles.

Her stores are eyewitness accounts and experiences. Short version:

The Left wants The Troubles here, greatly magnified. Do keep in mind though, that the "religious" aspect in Northern Ireland was nothing more* than the Commies doing what they do.. wearing the skinsuit of Catholicism, and using it as a hide to cover their true goals and agenda. It's Marxism, all the way down.

* yeah, there were some few "religious" who got sucked into fighting as Papists or Prods, but the fight at is core, was Commie vs. Not Commie. (just can't quite call the Loyalists as fighting for American style "freedom", as they were in fact, fighting to remain subjects of The Crown.

There, the guides first establish that you can handle at least a .458 Win Mag, and equip you with such if you don't have your own.

They go into that brush, and find about half the time, the Longhorn Bulls are the ones doing the hunting. Average shooting distance? Under fifty yards. Me, I've got a friend with a .577 Nitro double rifle. I'd be asking for the loan of that, I think.

While a pardon - or even commutation - of such punishment seems like an outlandishly unlikely and politically risky thing, as seen from a pre-2016 perspective (maybe a pre-2003 perspective, actually), now it would be a nothingburger.

Not substantively, morally, or for the future of the republic, but politically and among the dumbed-down and poorly informed or educated masses. Who will mostly be hearing of the entire thing *for the first time* if such convictions/pleas actually occur, and *still won't understand much of it*.

She didn't like the specific legislation that reached her desk because she thought it was poorly written and could hurt SD universities with the NCAA and asked for it to be more carefully constructed. That does not make her untrustworthy.

Good governors know what will be on the legislation before it his their desk, and if they have problems they work it out before it becomes an open spat. They are supposed to be on the main team, and worrying about the NCAA's thoughts is a big tell. They will be offended by anything, you can't buy them off no matter what.

655 Succession appeals to me in general. But it's not really workable. If Texas was it's own country tomorrow, we'd have the same problems: sharply divided population, big blue cities versus the rest of the state. Sure, we're still red enough to cram a lot of conservative policy down the throats of the unwilling, but that'd only replicate the problem we are running from in reverse (blue-controlled national government cramming its progressive policy down our throats). A real succession movement would have to resemble Serbia's unsuccessful push to create Greater Serbia to be successful (liquidation of enemy populations, seizure of additional territory desired). It'd have to be ugly, very ugly to achieve what succeeders want to achieve. There's no will for that.

They had a skit with Mrs. Tudball, played by Vicki. I think it's on Youtube. She's doing the female version of Mr. Tudball. It's a hoot.

681 In some outtakes, you'll hear Vicki Lawrence as Mama, ask aloud, "is that little asshole through?"

I've watched this many times. Never fails to make me crack up. Those are really the best moments, when the cast cannot keep it together in the face of one of the other's antics.

There is also a good one where Carol gets Conway back for the Siamese elephants bit, ad-libbing a bit of her own off script to get Tim all messed up.

"They blew each other's brains out", she said.

I remember watching Carol Burnett, first run, as a child in the '70s. Saturday nights.

That was truly "must see TV". You had Archie Bunker, Mary Tyler Moor, Bob Newhart, and then Carol.

CBS, IIRC. I think MASH was in that lineup as well. People would stay at home to watch that lineup, rather than go out.

It was on Saturday, so I got to stay up late and watch it.

Thinking back, there have been about only three comedy acts that have made me nearly piss myself. I mean literally falling on the floor laughing, and nearly losing urinary continence.

Those are "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad Mad World", Inspector Clouseau, and Carol Burnett.

I'm serious. I mean literally falling in the floor. You get to laughing so hard, your knees get weak, and down on the floor you go. And you realize that your urinary sphincter is affected as well.

There has only been one time, in the "real world" that I've been laughing so hard, that urinary continence became questionable.

I'm in middle school. It's the first of Dec.. There the annual state Farm Bureau convention in Myrtle Beach. A friend of mine and I discover that some arcade machines in the basement of the Myrtle Beach Hilton, will spit out a bunch of quarters, if you unplug and then plug them back in.

We get a shit-ton of quarters. We get to highest floors of the Hilton, which has an atrium. We start throwing some of those quarters down to hit the lobby floor. We observer various passer-by noting the quarters on the floor.

They look around, then step on the quarters. They wait until no one is looking, then pick up the quarters. THis is so funny, we're both falling on the floor. Later, we get some "Snap 'n' Pops", little things that go bang upon impact. We start throwing them down in time when someone steps on the quarter. They jump.

I did indeed let a little urine out and soil my undies at that. That gets hotel security out. That's not funny at the time. But it was funny afterwards.

We didn't get busted by hotel security. But a janitor or something had seen what we were doing. He came up and said, "Ya'll boys is having some fun, I see that. But if you keep it up, you gone get in trouble. So ya'll best just ease on outta here. I ain't gonna tell, but get ya'll's butt outta here!"
