The normal end-stage of viral evolution is to become basically a nuisance, but very transmissible. It's not an accident that the human immune system at the population level drives the virus to this end state. Good for the host, good for the virus. How about that?
The "immune soup" out there of leaky vaxxed plus unvaxxed has likely accelerated viral evolution.
Moronic may be the "happy" result. Very mild, but very transmissible. That's the best case, and it looks like that's what it is. But not enough data to know for sure.

A mild variant of COVID-19 could actually be good news. Far more effective at introducing useful immunity than the (cash cow) mRNA vaccines.
We have seen indications that this COVID-19 'pandemic,' or something like it, appears to have been gamed out in advance. This is what, I believe is already happening to a degree with the Delta Variant. As always there are key groups at risk, and we need to focus on those people. But for those who get it and can work through it, like one does with every other virus, the immunity certainly appears superior to what the jab, two jabs, three jabs is providing.

This does bring up a good point. Almost all laws banning certain behavior is there because there's a chance it might be damaging or destructive to others. No, you can't drive drunk. No you cannot sell PCP to kids. No you cannot take pictures of naked little kids and sell them on the internet. No, you cannot sell your body on the street.
The left argues that's none of my business, that its up to each person, and that there's no direct harm to anyone if they take PCP or are hooking.
How does this argument not then connect to masks and shots? I'm fine with pot being legalized, even though I know its a terrible idea for people to smoke weed. That's up to them, and its a cost of liberty.

I do not know the actual mechanism, but the docs who came up with the mRNA process say that it damages your body's immune system reaction. They warned about it a year ago. Supposedly your body will recover, but it does make you more vulnerable to infection for months after taking it. Plus, unknown long-term consequences.

I recovered from covid fairly quickly, though I have ongoing lung issues. Last week, out of curiosity, I went and got an antibody test. You can also do so at LabCorp, without a doctors script (they provide one there) and it was paid for by insurance.
My antibodies were very high, and I wasn't surprised given I just recovered from covid. My doctor sent me a WSJ article arguing I should schedule a booster shot anyway. The article argued that TCell generation was superior from the vaccine when compared to naturally occurring immunity. I am ignoring that argument as contrary to common sense.

There was an early study that was designed to show the vax was better than natural immunity because they timing of the test was within a few weeks of shot versus recovery. It manages to get the collective population to herd immunity without putting too much selection pressure on the virus to evade that immunity, which is a clever trick.

An interesting calculation by Suozzi, and by your reasoning it makes sense. A counter-example would be Herman Badillo, who gave up a safe congressional seat to be Ed Koch's Deputy Mayor. Maybe a month into it, he got into an argument with Koch in one of the mayor's vehicles, and Koch fired him on the spot, and kicked him out of his car. No job, no seat in Congress. Suozzi serves at the Mayor's pleasure.

Coffee has many, many more antioxidants, such as chlorogenic acid, as well as bits of niacin, magnesium, etc., and caffeine is very neuroprotective (except in high doses). Well, it's more like the Republicans just slept at the wheel during elections and let Dem voting outreach organizations and corrupt Dem election officials find mysterious votes (after combing through voting roles that have never been seriously updated). But the 2020 debacle, while not helping Trump, woke up the local Republican outfits that Dems are serious about making phantom voters get counted unless countered with real legal and grassroots resistance - that happened on Long Island in 2021 - the Dems still tried (Dem Nassau Cty Executive Curran wouldn't concede until mysterious absentee ballots just 'found' were counted) - but the Republicans flooded the counting in Hempstead with lawyers and the steal stopped.

Well, tobacco and marijuana *are* different compounds. One might have more carcinogens in them and no one goes through the same quantity of pot as people do tobacco. Also, you can vaporize THC as low as 322 degrees F which is far below the burning point of the plant (392 F IIRC) which is what creates benzene.

Caffeine is a fascinating drug. Plants make it to kill insects.
In people it is a stimulant, and actually has a bunch of positive impacts on mental functioning...BUT...people generally build a tolerance to caffeine's mental properties in like 3 weeks or so, obviously not the pure stimulant aspects.

This is how the so called "herd immunity" occurs. This has already happened in some places among some groups such as the Amish. It's also happened in Africa where parasites were already a problem thus causing many to be taking ivermectin as a prophylaxis against the parasites. Which also happens to be an anatagonist to the covid virus. People get the covid but the ivermectin makes the symptoms mild thus they become immune and then free from further infection. None of this is happening in the 1st world due to hubris and greed.

2) Kids can definitely spread the damn thing. We're 98% sure we got this from our 5 year old, who had to have picked it up from school. The school had sent out a letter that one of the kindergarteners tested positive for covid and their last day at school had been the day before my kid got sick.
After that, each of us got sick 1 day after another.
3) The moderna vaccine I had back in March was useless. I'm not convinced it was *worse* than useless, but it definitely did nothing for me. My wife had pfizer, and that did nothing for her.
4) Our symptoms were all slightly different. My youngest started with a 103 degree fever for a day, while I had a low fever for 3 days and still have a terrible cough.

The only things a lot of caffeine (as in No-Doz level) does to me is: have to urinate a lot; and stay awake. So, unless the party's in the bathroom, I still don't see the point. Hell, a small dose of mushrooms is a lot of fun and very social.

but really it was. There is an interesting book called Tobacco, a plant that seduced a civilization. I still can't pull the name for that type of history. It was all the rage in the late nineties and early 2000s. You take a product or element like tobacco, salt, cod or even longitude, and tell the history from there.
In my recollection the Indians would put tobacco tincture into the eyes of a shaman. They would blow so much smoke up an arse it could kill a guy.
Tobacco is crazy addictive, that is why it traveled to, and was accepted on every continent and damn near every island on earth. I would say read the book, it is interesting.

Not to negate your experience, but I have three friends who I shared a bong with one night in a Cape May, New Jersey hotel. One became a regular MD, the other a cardiac surgeon, the other the head of a non-profit for a period of time that everyone would recognize.
Me? Pretty damn successful, as far as the people who would like to sell me their ideas. It's totally dependent on the individual, I'm certain. I never continued much after adolescence. It was fun, but no way to go through life.
That being said, I did lose a childhood friend who started with pot, graduated to heroin, then disposed of his brains with a shotgun shortly thereafter.

Like I give a shit, since I take a daily regimen of the prophylactic medications that are alleged to keep it away. Home tested this AM with a negative result. What a fooking joke.

The youngest (5) had a fever for a day, then was extra tired for 2 more days. Then he just had an average cold.
I feel like I may have had it the worst, or tied with my wife. Bad nasal congestion, really bad cough. Low fever for 3 days. The cough is hanging on, but everything else cleared up on its own. The doctor did say the cough would probably last a while.
Wife had same symptoms as I did, but also got monoclonal antibodies on the last day they would possibly give them to her (day 10 of being sick). She was already recovering pretty much, but we were told the antibodies would provide protection for 3 months.
7 year old was sick like me, just not for as long.
