The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

“With his arrogant partisan performances this weekend, Fauci’s laid bare the inherent weakness of his obsession with going on TV. The more he talks, the less many Americans either like or believe him.”Piers Morgan

Quote II

“How can we as states get dollars from severance taxes and then park it in banks that are at the same time trying to diminish those dollars by trying to boycott our industries? This is just more of the same from these woke capitalists, globalist interests out there when it’s them trying to dictate to us the way we need to live our lives.”West Virginia Republican Treasurer Riley Moore

Quote III

“I did get tired of people commenting on my looks when I was camming. It kinda bothered me.” Diana Deets, a cam performer

Quote IV

Continuing to speak of all-things COVID, I see today that Merck is about to get FDA approval to begin trials of an anti-COVID pill, which I'm sure has all the get-that-jab-now-Prole types so happy they could shit. Matthew Noto

Chinese loving NBA star comes down with Chinese Kung Flu. How's that vaccination working out for you LeBron?

The positive test result comes just days after the NBA encouraged players and coaches to get COVID-19 booster shots, Associated Press reported.
If Lebron James' positive test result fails to be a false-positive or inconclusive result, the player will be out for a minimum of ten days and will have to submit two negative tests results within 24 hrs to return; which is in accordance with the NBA's health and safety protocols.

With this kind of shit happening, the Babylon Bee will soon be out of business.

German Euthanasia Association Won’t Help You Kill Yourself Unless You’ve Had COVID Vaccine

Check your calendar, it’s not April 1st. This ultimate irony is real. The euthanasia clinics in Germany won’t help you kill yourself unless you’ve had the COVID vaccine. With headlines like this out there in the real world, coming up with material for the satire sites must be getting harder every day. This is crazy but not satire–it’s true. They will only help their patients die as long as they’re not dying from COVID. The German killing clinics put a surreal new spin on the phrase ‘lethal injection’.

If I ever end up in "Old Timer's Home". This is where I want to go. Turkey Hunting for residents.

Kip Kruger works at Azle Manor Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Azle, Texas, and has a knack for keeping the residents smiling.

Not everyone would don a giant turkey costume and spend the day lurking behind plastic trees while being shot at with toy guns, but Kruger took one (or a dozen) for the team.

A photo posted on the Azle Manor Facebook page shows an orange-vested resident leveling her weapon at the giant downed turkey.

A pretty damn good story. Thanks Kip Krueger!

Moar good news! Greg Gutfeld ratings beat the Jimmy Libtards.

Fox News’ November ratings are out, and they spell bad news for late-night comedy…or good news if you’re sick of politically correct narrative-pushing virtue-signalers like Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon. Greg Gutfeld’s late-night show Gutfeld! has beaten both Kimmel and Fallon in total viewers in the 11 p.m. ET timeslot.

Gutfeld! has also taken the title of the number one rated show in all of basic cable television in total viewers, coming in at 1,983,000 pairs of eyeballs tuning in every night.

Gutfeld! beat every show on MSNBC in all categories, including The Rachel Maddow Show, for the first time since its launch. Rachel Maddow is having a dismal November, reporting her lowest ratings all year.

After a hawt encounter, you might want to light up a real smoke.

Scientists have discovered yet another reason why vaping sucks, and this time, it’s affecting a whole different organ from your lungs.

A joint study conducted by New York University and Johns Hopkins has found that men who smoke e-cigarettes are more 2.4 times more likely to have erectile dysfunction than their non-vaping counterparts — a sorry state of affairs for those who use e-cigs because they’re marketed as healthier than the real thing.

The study’s large sample included 45,971 men aged 20-65, differentiated by those who have cardiovascular issues and those who don’t. This latter data point is important, as recent research suggests that ED can be an indicator of heart disease.

Dad owes the kid big time. Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

A small-town Colorado teen was recognized by first responders in Brush after applying the lifesaving skills he learned at school to save a family member—his dad.

Mother of 14-year-old Aidan, Heather Christenson, recalled how her husband, Fred, had upon hearing a joke at the dinner table last month laughed and began to choke on a morsel of food.

90 Also, I just thought of something that happened earlier this year where I was making a pizza from scratch in the oven. I slipped taking it out and it went all over the open door of the oven. I freaked out a bit and had an existential nervous plummet for a moment. My family pulled me through and end the end the pizza was pretty good after I reassembled it.

It's the little shit like that and when it happens it can trigger you into a depression spiral making you think, well this is just another damn thing. No matter how trivial. Often not the big trials that you have a natural biological response that triggers and gets you through. I found the right place for him. He always said put my urn on top of the tv so you 'll always be looking at me. That was before flat tvs, so Jerry currently has a place of honor on the fireplace mantel.

One night his wife wanted him to bring a pizza home for her. He's wasted, gets the pizza, and starts walking out of the bar with it under his arm like it was a frigging book. He made it to the parking lot. The next time he was there on his harley and ordered a pizza for the wife. We asked, how you plan on carrying that on the bike? His solution? He duct taped the frigging box to his chest, did a few wraps around him with the tape, and off he went. lol

Posted by: Berserker-Dragonheads Division at December 01, 2021 10:27 PM (VwHCD)

171 Relating to time perception in kids; children can remember longer the things that made an impression when they were young.

They can even make a situation an impression. I did it. Was walking down a sidewalk and thought to myself, I'm gonna remember this. I was 8 at the time.

And I still do. Parents; when your child has a event that is a good thing try to impress it upon their mind so they have happy/good things to remember when they are older. The corollary to that is try to discipline your child so that they remember the action that caused it but not the bad time impression of being scolded (or worse) paddles. This is done by not administering punishment when angry and with yelling. Make it sober and grim but matter of fact. You will reap rewards if you can manage that tight rope.

172 Eh, I'm very skeptical of all of the claims coming out now that vaping gives you droop dick, IQ loss, VD, bad breath, etc. Notice that the anti-tobacco NGOs have had to pivot to demonizing vaping now that they've just about wrapped up their war on cigarettes? Not that I think vaping is great, but I have no doubt that compared to smoking it's like night and day.

Pure NGO grift and class warfare.

This is actually an act of sabotage on their part. Google could probably throw some of their guys on it on a Friday afternoon and have it whipped out before the first IPA is opened.

By putting this in to the Fe'ral Government's hands, it will be like the Obama No Care Website. It will cost four orders of magnitude more to make, take at least three years to staff the system with brain dead Diversity Hires and get them focused on things other than trying to out-compete each other for grievance based scoring office location assignment; then the fun starts as they argue endlessly on what should be in the database.

Programmers who only know shitty languages like Javascript and PHP will fight over the stack and divide up in to tribes to write their own version of things the way they feel they should be.

Turnover will be high. The technology will be old, loaded with bugs and eventually hacked to death by at least fifty sovereign countries, thousands of black market phishers and data bandits, and at no time will any of it be able to be integrated with any known system.

A few buddies and I went to one of their parents cabin one long winter weekend. Had to X-country ski in the last couple miles with our provisions. All but one of us were poor college kids and brought just basic grub. The one well to do guy brought a huge rib eye steak and taunted us most of the way in.

At dinner while we poor kids ate our hot dogs. He finished cooking his steak on the Monarch wood stove and headed for the table telling how great it was going to taste. Two steps from the table he slips on the snow melt from our boots. Out goes his legs, up into the air goes the steak. He slams down on the floor and the steak lands in the ash bucket which tips over onto the floor completely burying his steak.

We all nearly chocked laughing. He threw the steak at us and went outside for a couple of hours. We could hear him swearing the whole time.

----

So what you're saying is that it will work about as well as the Obamacare portal when it initially "launched"?

The private industry is already set up for it. The company I work for as a contractor is requiring all of its employees to provide vaccination status. Since I'm a contractor, I'm going through my supposed employer instead of the company I actually work for. But my co-workers who aren't contractors have told me that the process for them involves signing onto a third-party website that collects their information. And it's pretty obvious to them that the website in question is already capable of collecting *all* of their medical data, and not just their vaccination status.

In short, the technology and websites already exist in the private sector.

302 And, in today's episode of "As The Antifa Turns":

2020 was a good year for Portland Antifa. They were well funded, rioted every night for months, and generally had a great time. Then Biden was elected, and their funding got cut off. 2021 has seen the eighty or so hard-core Portland Antifoids sink ever-deeper into depression, mental illness, and -especially- backbiting.

In particular, several Antifoids have decided that they would rather have sex with conservatives than with their obese, pink-haired compatriots. First was Luis Marquez, one of the leaders of Rose City Antifa, who acquired a Proud Boy girlfriend, who explained that he was converting her to anarchism. If you disbelieve that, you are a racist of course. He is now generally reviled.

Then, a female who handled communications for a major Oregon Antifa group acquired a Proud Boy boyfriend, and gave all of Antifa's internal communications to the Proud Boys.

330 Tonight, the CDC is suggesting that they will be issuing orders to quarantine Americans and preventing their travel:

The CDC think they are now your non-elected rulers. Of course, none of this is Constitutional. You can't imprison American citizens if they have not been arrested for committing a statutory offense...the 14th Amendment has not been repealed.

But by all means, let's await the inevitable SCOTUS' narrow opinion that the 14th Amendment has in this narrow case, and this case only, been 'suspended.'

In recovery, it was sitting atop a cube partition (gel packs used in lieu of). Got home and went to set the unit up. No power supply and no bladder. Power supply was the easy part, but the soonest I could get a bladder was Fri.

If you mean the SC gun show "prank", you do not have it straight.
Boss wants to pull prank (yeah, right) on employee and places replica bb gun with real guns.
Boss pulls prank on employee but "mistakenly" uses loaded real gun instead of prank bb gun.
So Boss has loaded guns on display, doesn't notice the difference between an replica bb gun and a loaded glock, is pulling a "prank" that is only funny when you are a ten year old with a squirt gun. Boss also has had NG training and is an aux. police officer.

From the local newspaper story, the answer is no. There was a witness in the store that did not see the shooting because his back was turned but both the victim and the owner were have a conversation using normal tone of voice prior to the shot.

Story sounds fishy as hell and the local department investigated the shooting for thirty days before the indictment for manslaughter came down.

The gun owner is being charged with involuntary manslaughter, and it sounds like the correct charge. He brought in replica of a Glock BB gun to "prank" the victim, and picked up a real gun and shot the guy in the face.

Real good move there, mister expert. That indeed rises well to the level of criminal recklessness.

According to the published stories, no. The shooter's story is that he brought a Glock replica BB gun into the store, and intended to prank the victim, by shooting at him with that, but picked up a real, loaded Glock, and fired that instead. Even if that story is completely true, that's manslaughter, in my book. But it might be a cover story for a premeditated murder, too.

After reading the witness statement in the local rag, the fact that the witness had his back turned makes me suspicious that it was a murder. If you were going to prank someone, you would want a witness to it ordinarily to make the burn worse.

The deceased was allegedly former special forces and the shooter was a retired Natl Guard officer AND reserve deputy.

It's probably about all they think they can prove, legally. SC law doesn't have degrees of murder. There are two homicide crimes, manslaughter (of two types, voluntary and involuntary), and murder.

Now, "depraved, reckless disregard" type killings that could be called 2nd degree murder in other states, will be charged as murder. The wording is "abandoned and malignant heart".

So, can you make the case the gun store owner had an "abandoned and malignant heart" to support a murder charge? Unless you have evidence of intent to kill, it's either that or involuntary manslaughter per the laws of our gret-stet.

Back in the time when various countries were threatening to arrest Henry the K (or W, Cheney, etc), Congress passed a law authorizing the use of military force to recover them. I theorized that part of the "Henry Kissinger Liberation Act" required the Legal Attache to such nations to brief the Justice Minister and the heads of such national police forces about the existence of the law. And the Military or Naval Attache would brief the Defense Minister and the heads of the local military of the comparative capabilities of their forces, and what was then called an Amphibious Ready Group.

493 > When I worked at a service station, on several occasions I saw cyclists explode the tires on their bikes, using the air chuck.

Heh. Long ago I worked in the shipping department of a furniture factory. The whole place was air-powered. We'd use big-assed pneumatic staplers running at 100 psi to box up the furniture, and also had some pneumatic wrenches for work that was too heavy for the upholstery ladies up the line (e.g., installing the folding spring mechanisms in hide-a-beds).

One day we noticed that a piece of fabric trim had come loose, or had never been stapled in the first place, so we sent word up the line for one of the ladies to come down and fix it (figuring that the customer probably didn't want a 3 inch copper-plated staple right in the middle of his loveseat). It took a while, so we pushed it aside and got back to our regular work. Didn't notice the upholstery lady show up and connect her 50 psi rated stapler into one of our connectors. Ka-fucking-boom! Blew the seals out. The poor lady almost shit herself. To be frank, I also almost shit myself. It was pretty loud.

494 So, can you make the case the gun store owner had an "abandoned and malignant heart" to support a murder charge? Unless you have evidence of intent to kill, it's either that or involuntary manslaughter per the laws of our gret-stet.

Posted by: publius

If you care to look it up, the gun store owner lost a federal bankruptcy case in regards to his other business properties in 2018. Lots of charges and countercharges regarding alleged theft by a former manager and business partner of the shooter whose debt was discharged by the court.

Possible that initial charges were filed with the ability to upgrade the charges if new information comes to light. Interesting that this shooting occurred after the Baldwin incident. It could be a prank gone wrong but given the experience level and age of the gunstore owner--it seems atypical behavior.

Over the last 20 or so deer seasons, everyone around here has been noticing the same things: Does are both larger and fatter, and you see more multiple births than before. Bucks on the other hand are smaller, have smaller racks, have smaller testicles, and are far less aggressive towards each other, even during the rut, which is way later in the year and way shorter than it used to be. The difference? When I was a kid, all the fields around here were planted with corn. Now, they're planted with soybeans.

516 The Merck pill is not about to be approved to "begin trials", it is about to be provisionally approved for marketing. Emergency authorization. They stopped the clinical trials early because people in the placebo groups were dying. The government had already paid for millions of doses back in, like, June, before clinical trials were done.

I guess it is an option for old, frail people who would have a hard time going in for monoclonal antibodies, etc. Started before symptoms appear if possible. The earlier the better with any of the antivirals.

I imagine the patient population as people whose life expectancy make the potential carcinogenicity of the pill less of an issue. It would never have been developed years ago. Law would have prevented it.

Nike Hercules missiles had a nuclear warhead. They were designed to stop incoming waves of Soviet bombers by setting off the nuke in their flight path (on the old theory that close does count with horseshoes and H bombs).

Granted, it would have sucked pretty bad for whatever piece of Alaska was under those nukes when they went off, but it was a different time.

538 Had a productive day today. Got a mess of tree limbs cut up into firepit length using my power miter saw, which does a fine job of that, and fairly safely, too. Then I burned a couple of bushels of smaller twigs in the redneck firepit, which is an old stainless steel washer drum.

Then I came inside, and got the door to the guest bathroom hung. Well, a pre-hung door, but it is now screwed securely to the framing.

Read the details of how the man's daughter had to fight tooth and nail. She got a court order to allow ivermectin to be used on Nov. 1. Hospital refused.

She went to court again on Nov 5. Judge then issued an order to the hospital to let the man's own doctor in to treat the patient. The hospital again refused.

You see, they couldn't let the doctor in 'cause he wasn't vaccinated.

She was back in court on Nov. 8th, and this time the judge got pissed and ordered them to let the the doctor in, period, no games.

And he finally got the ivermectin.

There is a report out about how Ivermectin cannot be shown to be useful based on the studies done in the last 2 years, since the studies were poorly done.

However "eppur si muove", and washing hands did seem to reduce childbed fever and there still appears to be a correlation to recovery and use of Ivermectin and HCQ

Galileo and Simmelweiss both had a good idea but had no mechanism to explain why, but modern pharma is based around the idea of "let's try it and see if it works, then we can figure out why"

Maybe it is as simple as any treatment at all prior to pneumonia reduces mortality

Posted by: Kindltot at December 02, 2021 12:53 AM (ZMraq)

Pretty sure any studies done in the USA, Canada, or the EU were intentionally "poorly done" because they want Ivermectin to fail. If it works, then the vaccine mandate is unnecessary, and Pfizer and Moderna lose mucho dollars. Follow the money.

608 My in laws on paper would be the typical Republicans. White boomers, own guns, own a pickup truck - among other vehicles - and fairly conservative socially, although not religious. But they vote D because Republicans are for rich people and they also hate clean air and water. Never mind that they are pretty well off themselves and drive said pickup. And Trump was mean and rude so Biden was a much better choice.

I dont ever bother talking to them about politics. It is an exercise in frustration.

611 AOp gets it. It is all about the money. Not just vaccines either. Testing is making bank for lots of people too. As is the mask industry and hospitals in general. All paid for by Uncle Sam. My guess is insurance companies are loving it as well since the reduction in surgeries due to people afraid to go to a hospital is making their profits soar.

612 609 Your inlaw status as Boomers says it all. Silents were typically more Republican than Boomers due to memories of the not so great late FDR and Truman administrations. Boomers remember last years of Ike and then Dem administrations and politicians including St. Jack. interrupted by the evil Nixon and feckless Ford.

Socialization generally causes party preferences to harden based on early political socialization experiences of their generation.

614 Read the details of how the man's daughter had to fight tooth and nail.

Yes. I just replaced my old one a couple of days ago, with the new HD 10 Plus and it holds a charge for three days. The old one lasted half a day. Also the new one has twice the RAM, 4 GB from two, eight core CPU instead of four, so the HQ main page doesn't crash any more. It's on sale for a hundred and change at Amazon right now. Do it.

Heh. This summer I was getting ready to load an old car on the trailer with a guy who had just bought it from me. I had mounted some scabby old "roller" tires on it to make the loading go easy. He had my carry-air tank, and had just aired up the left rear, and he said, "Gee that one's got a big wart on it!" No sooner had he spoken, and Kaboom! it blew out, scattering dead leaves all over. Found another tire; that one was pooched. And it had an inner tube in it, and the tube had a big hole with radiating fracture lines. Kewl!
