Of course they want to walk around all year dressed like Bart Simpson, and refuse to buy actual jackets, coats, and caps.

Growing up in California, I learned that "winter" was when the high temps would only get to the fifties - sometimes. Working for a company in the Bay Area years later, the people who had never lived anywhere else would whine, and whine, and whine, on the handful of days every year when the early morning temps only got to the forties. The few employees who had lived in the Midwest thought that that was very funny. Posted by: The ARC of History! at November 27, 2021 09:19 AM (I2/tG) 64

Posted by: grammie winger at November 27, 2021 09:10 AM (45fpk) --- Religious titles only go away if you surrender them - i.e. resign or are defrocked. One of the priests in our parish is retired. He still does a couple of Masses a week and in his homilies will joke about how long ago he retired and yet here he still is because while he no longer is in active ministry, he can still perform the Sacraments. Cardinal McCarrick, for example, was removed from the priesthood - laicized. Since the 2002 reforms, that's pretty much the first thing that happens to any clergy with credible allegations of misbehavior. It need not be criminal, just one that brings scandal upon the Church. I know of two examples - one resigned and the other remained ordained but was removed from active ministry and as far as anyone knows, he sits in a monastery and prays. South Africa is literally at the ends of the Earth. You have to make very deliberate plans to go there. It is not possible to just wander around aimlessly and bump in to South Africa. J'burg should be on exactly no one's bucket list. One would think that this could be easily contained if the virus was even able to be contained. The Boston Massacre killed three people, and wounded eight.
The Waukesha SUV Accident killed six people and injured 62 others. One huge improvement though. When the authorities were hunting down the perp in the Boston Massacre, they rolled out their newly acquired 1033 gear, and we got all of those frightening photos of tanks, APCs, door-to-door raids, aiming 50BMG crew served weapons at innocent people, all of that hard core police state stuff that gives totalitarian politicians four-hour-wood. My old dump in Cali had a building for special stuff, paint and chemicals, tv's and computers and microwaves, batteries. All you did was roll up and pop the trunk and they would unload it for you. You weren't even allowed into the dump site, you dumped your stuff in a huge parking lot and they went through it then loaded it back up and took it inside the dump site. There was always a few big trucks of mexicans allowed to pick through stuff and load it up and take it down south. Don't know if they had to pay for that.

As the whole nation turns against her, she is forced to rely on her reluctant lawyer to uncover the truth and save her life. When Lincoln was assassinated, it took an already enraged North to the next level. At the time Sherman was negotiating a surrender with Joe Johnston. Just before going to meet, a telegraph operator handed Sherman a cable with the news that Lincoln had been struck down. He swore the man to secrecy on penalty of death and when he got to the meeting, cut through all the greetings and handed Johnston the message. Sherman later wrote that beads of perspiration stood out on Johnston's forehead as read the message. Sherman then told him point blank that if the war didn't end that morning, he would be unable to stop his troops from burning every southern town under their control to the ground. Johnston surrendered. Posted by: Ace-Endorsed Author A.H. Lloyd at November 27, 2021 10:10 AM (llXky) 215

Posted by: Ace-Endorsed Author A.H. Lloyd at November 27, 2021 10:10 AM Admittedly, I have not yet researched to confirm the accuracy of the movie yet. They portray Edwin Stanton, Sec of War, as someone who refuses Mary Surratt, a civilian, the right to a trial by jury of her peers. She is convicted by a war commission of generals and a judge hand-picked by Stanton. At the last minute, Surratt's lawyer is able to obtain a writ of habeas corpus to get her a jury trial. But the day she is to be hanged, they are informed that the President has denied his writ. It was later voted by Congress that civilians would be granted a trial by jury. Surratt's son, who was actually guilty, was not found guilty by a jury of his peers and was set free. Implication being that had Mary Surratt been granted this, she would have been set free as well. I noticed the judge in the Ghislaine Maxwell trial has decided the details of the case would prove "too disturbing" for the plebiscite class. So everything will remain sealed, and Maxi will end up dead in a prison shower incident. I don't know about the "spirit-cooking" stuff, but with this crew I have learned that no matter what comes out, the reality is far, far worse than one could imagine.

I don't think I've ever seen such a look of dejection on the face of my daughter as I just did. She couldn't understand why people were endangering her life by refusing the vaccine. "Don't they believe SCIENCE?" she asked pitifully.
I sat with her and tried to calmly explain to her why ignorant Trump-lovers would actively try to kill her. "And yes honey, St. Fauci ordered them to get a booster and they ignored that as well", I was forced to say. I tried to keep my voice steady, but it was increasingly difficult - the rage and feelings of helplessness were too much. She could tell something was wrong. I found myself at a loss for words - nothing makes sense anymore. I finally admitted, "Honey, I just don't know - I don't know what's going on in this country anymore..." When I finished her lip started to tremble and her eyes filled with tears, "Mommy" she said, "why are they doing this to me?" Well, that was it for me: I fell apart. She just fell into my arms and we both sobbed for several minutes. She had to comfort me and get me back on my feet. Sometimes I just think it's too much, but seeing the strength in my young daughter's voice helped me to get through. Posted by: Karen "CheChe" McCovid at November 27, 2021 10:28 AM (m45I2) 268

During the Cold War, we had the "two and a half" war doctrine, where we would be able to fight two regional wars and a brushfire war at the same time (at least in theory). That also required 20 or more carriers, ranging from Essex to Kennedy, plus cruisers, destroyers, frigates in proportion, more tactical and strategic air squadrons, more active regiments, than we'll ever have again. Do you know why Reps lost Georgia ? Corruption and greed.
"The Department of Justice (DOJ) released a 54-count indictment that charges 24 individuals, many illegal aliens, with operating a "modern-day slavery" scheme that utilized the H-2A visa program to traffic foreign workers into United States farm jobs - raping, kidnapping, and threatening them in the process....In some cases, the indictment states, the trafficked foreign workers were required to dig onions in Georgia farms with their bare hands, were paid only 20 cents for each bucket harvested, all while being threatened with violence. The various Georgia farms that contracted the trafficked foreign workers reside in Atkinson County, Bacon County, Coffee County, Tattnall County, Toombs County, and Ware County." How is this possible without people turning the blinds eye ? Well, it is not. It is easier to get filthy rich on modern day slavery than actually pay wages. The result - you saw what happened in 2020. Warning, California tried to get rich like that - look where we are at with CA. Posted by: runner at November 27, 2021 10:44 AM (V13WU) 312

How is this possible without people turning the blinds eye ? Well, it is not. It is easier to get filthy rich on modern day slavery than actually pay wages. The result - you saw what happened in 2020. Warning, California tried to get rich like that - look where we are at with CA.
Posted by: runner at November 27, 2021 10:44 AM (V13WU) Well, the USDOL is busy excluding Covid legislation from any oversight from CFR29 and using their enforcement to target the regime's political opponents (farmers tend to be conservative) they probably didn't have time to investigate or enforce MSPA violations. And of course the state level enforcement, there is more money in enforcing invented civil rights violations. Gang slavery and peonage is back in the fields, but our bakers will bake the cake. If the comment about digging onions by hand is true, though, it is correct that if the wages are low enough there is no need to mechanize. The gist of the movie is that she was convicted and sacrificed in order to appease the mob, facts and perjury be damned. Reminds me of the Rittenhouse case. If there was no internet and no social media, and 100 years from now people only could read what the mainstream media and government officials stated about the case, how would people 100 years from now see Rittenhouse?
