Good morning, kids. The start of a new week and up front, the fate of Kyle Rittenhouse, on trial for the heinous crime of defending himself with a firearm from having his life mostly peacefully snuffed out by white dopes on punk, who have now been elevated to the status of honorary negroids because the race card must be played. Remember that despite all the players here being white, the rioting in Kenosha was to protest the death of a black man. . . 400 miles away in Minneapolis. (yes, I did overlook the incident with Jacob Blake but that would've been a nothing-burger without George Floyd)

As commenter "..." (elipsis) said "The Democrat Party is white everywhere you look but constantly hiding behind black people. It's political blackface." With the prosecution's case collapsing faster than a soused Hillary Clinton at a 9/11 memorial service, this calculus in the media was totally predictable. That was before Friday, but I digress.

Some people will look at what's going on here and of course to the events that led here and think America has devolved into a lawless society. If that were the case, to paraphrase a certain Mr. Manson, the actions of Kyle Rittenhouse would be "no more important than eating an ice cream cone." That's pregnant with meaning considering a Joe named Brandon who evidently consumes it on an hourly basis these days (one scoop each of Ben & Jerry's Broken Cherry Garcia and Rachel Corries 'n Cream).

If we were a "lawless society," human nature being what it is dictates that what happened in Kenosha and half a hundred other urban areas would have happened perhaps dozens of times given the events that occurred in the wake of the unfortunate yet sadly inevitable demise of George Floyd. Meh, the mostly peaceful rioting would likely not have happened because the presence of "rooftop Koreans" would have prevented it in the first place. And George Floyd might be alive right now since even with a perpetual crystal-meth-induced haze he'd have thought twice about pushing the queer in a store that might have an armed shopkeeper. But, that's not lawlessness. It is, as stated, human nature filling a void and doing its thing, as it has done now since Moonwatcher and his companions defended their turf somewhere in Olduvai Gorge 3 million years ago and the bone he tossed in the air morphed into an anti-sat weapon in low earth orbit.

No, America is not a lawless society at all. Mostly because American society as founded and as many of us grew up in, ceased to be as of last January 6th. But there are laws, alright, and you better believe they are being enforced mercilessly. Look at people from Donald Trump to David Daleiden to James O'Keefe to parents that are anti-CRT/vaccine/transexual rapists, to Boyd Camper and his fellow J6 political prisoners in the Garland Archipelago, to the Wyoming farmer fined $37,000 a day (where were the Cheneys?) to Ashli Babbitt, and so many others. The entire criminal justice system has been weaponized to absolutely crush any and all dissent while an unelected and unaccountable bureaucracy issues edicts that have the force of law which you will obey, or be punished. If they can rig and steal elections like they did in 2020, they can sure as hell rig judges and juries, as they did with Derek Chauvin, and given the bizarre turn of events on Friday with the special delivery from "the evidence fairy" seem poised to do with Kyle Rittenhouse.

The corporate media is shifting narratives about the Kyle Rittenhouse case because his self-defense claim is bulletproof. They want to erase the long-understood obligation for all able-bodied citizens to come to the defense of their community when the normal authorities are unwilling or unable to do so.
The constitutionally sound principle that allows and expects this is the left's most-abused part of the Second Amendment, the "well-regulated militia." This is the false premise being pushed by many historically ignorant moral scolds.
"Do we want a society in which political conflict is settled on the streets between people with guns? One in which everyone is armed and can therefore view the other people armed as a plausible threat?" MSNBC's Chris Hayes wrote on Twitter. "Is that the society we want?" It's tempting to answer with the online meme, "Your terms are acceptable". . .
. . . There is plenty of case law about this, but essentially it consists of able-bodied citizens who are available to help with the defense of the country. This can include actions against foreign enemies presenting a threat inside our borders, but it also includes cases of internal unrest or natural disaster. . .
. . . citizens are very likely to be the only force capable of responding in defense of the common peace and lawful order, at least for a short time. In the recent crisis, however, we have seen several occasions when the police vanished from afflicted areas of cities for a whole night or longer. Citizens who are left to themselves by a failure of state and local power have every right to defend the common peace and lawful order against those who would destroy it. . .
. . . This is exactly what happened in Kenosha. The authorities there ordered the police to abdicate their responsibility to protect and serve the law-abiding citizens. They abandoned the community to a violent mob. When local folks, including Kyle, who worked there and lived nearby, rose up to defend their lives and livelihood, they were acting entirely in accordance with the constitutional concept of the militia. . .
. . . The prosecution in the Rittenhouse case has even attacked Rittenhouse's right to defend himself in the face of obvious deadly threats. They asked why a man who threatened to kill you and then tried to take your weapon away was a danger, why being hit over the head with a skateboard warranted a response, and what possible harm could present from a guy with a pistol pointed at your head six feet away. It takes a strong aversion to the idea of self-defense to make those absurd arguments -- and yet. . .
. . . The obscene part is that the charges of capital murder brought against him were entirely politically motivated to appease the very mob he and the others were defending against. But his fate now rests in the hands of a group of citizens who were also at risk from that same mob during the riots, just like Kyle.

The author seems confident that Rittenhouse will be acquitted but it's not clear if he wrote this very well done essay before the judge allowed the computer-corrected picture allegedly showing Rittenhouse "threatening" his would be assassins. More importantly, the fact that these jurors' identities are more than likely known by the armed militant wing of the Democrat Party - Antifa/BLM - makes an acquittal that much more problematic to say the least.

The Rittenhouse show trial - and that is exactly what this is since from the moment we saw the video evidence as well as the numerous eyewitness accounts we knew it was self-defense - is meant as a warning for anyone and everyone who dares oppose this regime. Make no mistake; the rioting and looting of last year were fully sanctioned by the Democrat Party as both voter intimidation and with the inevitable actions of someone like Rittenhouse to be used as a pretext to disarm the citizenry. Remember, the lowlife Antifa scum are heroic, peaceful demonstrators in support of justice and civil rights. Anyone who opposes them is an evil white supremacist oppressor and so must be severely punished "to preserve our precious democracy" (spit). And since the prime threat to "our precious democracy" (spit) is not the Chi-Coms, Russians, Iranians or the "Religion of Peace" but anyone who wants to return to the days of white supremacy and slavery, since the US Constitution itself is a sham and a lie that was written by the latter to oppress colored people of color, then the right to keep and bear arms is a negative right that must be abolished if we are to achieve true social justice. Shit, I can be a speech writer for Titty Caca and dress up in a "tax the rich" ballgown. Winning.

Seriously, this is topsy turvy world. I'm to the point where if Rittenhouse is railroaded, I'd say bust him out of jail and smuggle him to Brazil. If that skank murdering filth Joanne Chesimard can flee to Cuba and be hailed as a freedom fighter, we surely can protect our own. Frankly, I'm kind of shocked that her namesake godson Chesa Boudin is facing a recall election in Frisco. I would have thought that given the fact that with an eco-terrorist running the BLM (no, not that BLM, the other BLM) and a Mongoloid skell with the "economics" degree from Patrice Lumumba University may be running our banking system, that Chesimard, aka Assata Shakur, has still to be given a full pardon, returned to the US as a hero and given a cabinet position in the newly formed Department of Peace, alongside Mumia Abul Jamal.

I guess that that's what "President" Harris will do when she's sworn in.

21 Sorry, you are flat out wrong. Our current situation is PRECISELY what has always been meant by a "lawless society". Laws are rules, and as such, are enforced. Rule by whim, made up on the fly, are neither. For many years, under Mao, it was said that Peking was the safest city in the world. Lawful? Not by any normal usage.

And long before, it was standard for coronation oaths to include vows to keep, follow, and enforce the laws. The only thing new about the Magna Carta was that it was nationwide. Other than that, it amounted to little more than "keep your promise, John." Similar charters were common (and not usually forced upon the kings).

The equation of power and law is a modern concept, contrary to the entire heritage of the West (and everyplace else I've actually read about.) It is, of course, very common on the Left. The only followers on the "Right" that I know of are fascists and proto-fascists.

I do remember there was plenty of liberal nonsense on campus in general (i.e. they placed a rainbow door in the middle of the campus to allow for people to walk through the door to "come out of the closet").

I was in a small minority of non-dingbats, but I wasn't punished. I wasn't ostracized. I wasn't the enemy. I was just a curiosity and an enigma because I didn't believe what they believed. I had only one professor who let politics get in the way, and I dropped her class.

I've been concerned about the outcome of this case since voir dire. There were a lot of Karens in that jury pool. My guess is that the jury is going to end up being hung.

I still can't believe the judge let that "enhanced" photo in. The prosecution's lab spent 20 hours altering that photo, and you still can't really see much in it. You certainly can't see Rittenhouse aiming his gun at anybody. But the prosecution gets to argue now that that's what it shows, and some of the Karens on the jury are going to want to believe it, so they will.

The Floyd death was the predicate to begin the planned riots but it was the Blake shooting that was the spark that lit off Kenosha. And much like the Rittenhouse case it was all built on lies.

Blake was not an innocent gunned down by crazed cops, he had a warrant for his arrest for multiple charges including sexual assault and was violating a restringing order which is why the cops were there in the first place. He disobeyed the cops, fought them and reached for a knife. It was a righteous shooting and the cops were cleared and put back on duty.

The left lies constantly. Facts are meaningless to them. I think we make a big mistake thinking they will ever be persuaded by facts and truth. It's all about narrative and feelings to them.

I don't agree with this. Inherited wealth is not terrible or great.It is an entity and has no specific allegiance. Americans have the right to pass on their life's work to others. The alternative is to give it to government and the people that dream of running everything.

i get that the issue can be complicated.I am not calling you out, we might simply just disagree on this. But one thing about freedom and individual rights, is you have the right to pass down your life's work to others. It might be family, it might be friends or it might be a charity. Even the state's witnesses at the Rittenhouse trial admitted that the rioters were setting arson fires all over the place. And of course there are lots of videos of the arson fires. One of the reasons Rosenbaum threatened to kill Kyle Rittenhouse was because Rosenbaum was enraged that Kyle was using a fire extinguisher to put out some of the arson fires that Rosenbaum was setting.

It's true that inheritance is value-neutral in itself, but it nearly always causes the kids to be the "weak men" from the "weak men create hard times" cycle. If I were in that position I'd seriously consider leaving most of it to charity or something.

Quint, I see your view. Admittedly, I am prejudiced. The wealth I am talking about (by the by) is not just enough to just buy a house or pay college tuitions, it is true "Fuck you" levels.

Having met many with inherited wealth in my professional career, and seen its impact in the schools my kids attended and the society I live in, I have developed a deep dislike for its effects. With very few exceptions (and I am thinking of one extraordinary family in particular) the people I know who inherited lots and lots of money are uniformly lefty. They generally aren't very productive or, often, very happy.

They are, but I think it's a bit more complicated than that. The binary star of Antifa and BLM is interesting. On paper, they're nearly the same. Both are revolutionary communist groups at their core and their mission is to install a loose form of Marxism. That said, there are major practical differences. Setting the manifestos aside and looking at what they actually do and say, the two are quite different.

BLM is a racial supremacy group (black supremacy) first, and a communist group second. Antifa is a communist group first and a racial oppression (white subservience) group second. They find common cause, of course, because they're fighting for the same things (or things that are close enough).

I was in college in the mid-80's at a very lefty school. However, the faculty, at least in the classroom, were almost all classical liberals who insisted on rigorous academic standards and freedom of speech. The only exception I recall was some assistant-adjunct-lecturer fresh out of grad school who insisted on injecting her politics into her teaching (and her grading). Looking back, she was a definite sign of things to come.

I largely agree. Communism isn't a universal truth, it is a convenient political philosophy for an interest group to consolidate power along grievance lines and those lines will differ based on the makeup of the group. All communists share certain traits but they also want their group to lead.

There are always divisions within communist movements, it is not a monolithic movement as is often seen from outside and they often use each other to reach their goals. But they do want a world run by communists and not free people. On that they all agree.

Founded based on the lies around Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman (just an innocent kid wearing a hoodie walking home from buying Skittles who was stalked, shot and killed by a racist white-Hispanic), continued with the lie of "hands up, don't shoot". There were others as well, but those all just planted the seed of "systemic racism". When that didn't get them what they wanted, they used the lies around George Floyd (blaming a knee on neck for a "murder", when Floyd died due to opioid overdose) to explode the movement into every corporation and industry in the country and the world.

However, the faculty, at least in the classroom, were almost all classical liberals who insisted on rigorous academic standards and freedom of speech. The only exception I recall was some assistant-adjunct-lecturer fresh out of grad school who insisted on injecting her politics into her teaching (and her grading). i had lefty teachers in high school and college. Maybe i am giving them too much credit but they didn't harm me although I always took them on. They knew who I was and they liked to take jabs at me in class.

I think they didn't harm us because we refused to let them harm us. It is a nuanced thing that likely wont mean anything today. But there was a time when people accepted each other. Crap, I learned from them too. I guess it was a different time, but it was better.

Technically he was right because 90 percent of his wealth is in stock. He and the MFM failed to explain that his secretary made over one million dollars a year.

I respect Buffett as an investor. His letters to shareholders are a gold mine if you want to learn about the subject. But to be honest, I don't give a damn about what he leaves to others and to whom. It is not my business.

The level playing field is the mediating force. A major problem he have is that massive institutional "charities" get huge sums of money from industrialists, deviate, and become informal extensions of the state that are protected well.

If the playing field is level, inherited wealth isn't a major problem. Those unworthy of their inheritance will be blow through it, accomplish nothing, and leave their kids or grandkids with nothing. Those who are worthy of it will do well with it and add to the pile. But when the extremely rich are specially protected in a corrupt double deal with the organs of official power, it queers the deal pretty dramatically.

But I dedicated myself from that day on to become more informed. That was before blogs, Facebook and Twitter. So I turned to Rush Limbaugh program and that began my education. He then introduced me to blogs when they started.

It's not even massive wealth. It's kids from upper middle class homes with a trust fund. They don't have to work and can spend their time rioting. Just saying "Oh, they'll blow through their cash" is not the answer. That answer means you have to suffer through the destruction they create. For the super trust fund kiddies, they'll never run out. The money is structured so they can't. They'll spend a fraction of a percent supporting groups wrecking your neighborhood while living the high life.

I don't have an answer either. I do know it has to entail some manner of responsibility being tied to their right to the money.

He could (theoretically, at least) direct a verdict, but he won't. He can also throw out the jury verdict if it comes back guilty (it's called "judgment notwithstanding the verdict") if he determines there is not enough evidence to justify a guilty verdict. But he won't do that either.

BTW, it's not just the jury getting threats. The judge has been getting plenty himself. I read some of the e-mails that have been sent to him, through the court system, from deranged leftists. It's as nasty as you'd expect. "F*cking traitor, Nazi, white supremacist pig, I can't wait to find you and spit in your face, I'm going to burn down your house and murder your children, you'll never be safe on the streets again" type of stuff.

The boomer judge understood it much better than the idiot prosecutor did.

The prosecutor spent several minutes last week arguing to the judge that enlarging digital images doesn't involve adding any pixels to the original image, and it doesn't involve any logarithms or predictions. He actually told the judge, several times (he likes to repeat himself), that it's exactly the same as if somebody looked at something using a magnifying glass!

I'm pretty technologically inept, but even I know that digital images are enlarged and enhanced by software programs that predict what images should look like, and add pixels based on calculations about the objects and images closest to the part being enhanced. I also know that those computer predictions are often not correct, and can end up causing distortions in photos, some of which are sometimes quite comical. BTW, the judge understood this too, and had to correct the prosecutor.

The prosecutor's ignorance about his own evidence was stunning, to say the least.

i don't know if you have read the book "The Looming Tower". It was a very good book and explained a lot about the lead up to 9/11. The author is a lib I think but he is a very good writer. He discusses a famous terrorist/ Muslim intellectual. The guy was treated very kindly here,and that in particular is why he hated the USA. Sure it makes no sense, that is the point.

When I used to travel frequently to Europe on business my return trips to Boston were always crowded with Europeans heading to the US to shop. Some of them would bring empty suitcases so they could stock up on stuff like clothes that were so much cheaper they would actually fly to the US to shop and save money. Think about that.

If you look at the trend in Presidential election voting in Texas, it has been trending blue last 2 elections.

2000 (+1,366,000 votes); 2004 (+1,700,000); 2008 (+950,000); 2012 (+1,260,000); 2016 (+800,000); 2020 (+630,000).

Michigan in 2012 was +449,000 for Democrats. Trump flipped it to +10,700 Republican in 2016. So 630,000 votes is getting close to within range for Democrats to steal the state.
