The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

And I’m sorry, guys, but any parent who thinks their 17-year-old school’s assignment is too explicit, they need to check out his browser history, because trust me, he can handle it. It this shows you that the real dangerous ideology in society isn’t conservatism or liberalism. It’s helicopter parenting. An AP is basically a college course. How long will this lady be trying to protect her kid?” Trevor Noah

Quote II

“My comments at the event last May included an inappropriate choice of words. I immediately apologized to people who approached me then and I apologize again now. I know how important it is to choose my words carefully. I would never want to offend anyone.” Houston Texas CEO Cal McNair

What a Pu$$Y

Quote III

“120 to 2 in Congressional Republican Elections in 2020 and 11 to 0 in Republican Elections this cycle, endorsed by President Trump."

“The Fake News hates to talk about the power of the most meaningful ever endorsement, but the people know and fully understand!" President Donald Trump

Quote IV

We are pleased that the jury agreed that Duvall’s race and gender were unlawful factors in his termination — that he was fired to make room for more diverse leaders at Novant. Attorney S. Luke Largess of Charlotte

I know, it's been a while since I attended school. And I get it. School is tough and there is nothing wrong with having some fun, both students and staff. You don't allow the inmates run the asylum.

A Kentucky school district confirmed on Wednesday it is investigating social media posts of a homecoming event showing male teenagers in skimpy clothing giving lap dances to school staff, including the principal.

Social media posts emerging from Hazard High School in Hazard, Kentucky show teenage boys giving lap dances to staff which has prompted outrage from parents on social media, according to Lexington Herald-Leader.

Those of us Morons who use gasoline: Are getting hit hard.

The U.S. price of regular-grade gasoline is continuing to rise, with the national average hitting a seven-year high.

As of Oct. 27, the national average rose to $3.394 per gallon from $3.389 the previous day, and up from the month-ago average of $3.189, according to AAA.

Thanks Brandon.

I've never met Retired U.S. Marine James Kilcer. I would like to. I would thank him for his service and buy him a drink of his choice for his wardrobe selection.

Retired U.S. Marine James Kilcer wore a “Let’s Go Brandon” shirt to a Tuesday ceremony in Yuma, Arizona, where he received a valor award for disarming a robbery suspect.

On October 21, 2021, Breitbart News reported that the retired Marine was in a Chevron in Yuma when three robbery suspects entered the store, one of whom allegedly had a gun.

Pay no attention to that bush, moving around over there by that tree, it’s just a bush. Nothing to look twice at. Nothing to be alarmed about. This looks like it could be gravy. I smell varmint poontang, and the only good varmint poontang is dead varmint poontang. Freeze gopher! Kangaroo!

Obnoxious foolishness must be nipped in the bud. Fuming motorists chuck ink at Insulate Britain protesters as they prepare to block A40

Fuming motorists have drenched Insulate Britain protesters in ink today as the activists once again blocked London's roads during this morning's rush hour.

The eco warriors decided to target both the A40 and M25 today, but were met with fierce resistance from commuters.

Pictures from the scene on the A40 show gloomy activists with deep blue ink trickling down their faces and hi-vis uniforms.

If only she had put that much energy helping the people who wanted help.

OCTOBER 26--The owner of a drug rehab clinic sold fentanyl to a police informant inside the facility, according to Florida investigators who say that the accused woman was “targeting a vulnerable population” and “preying on those looking for hope while battling a vicious disease.”

Police yesterday arrested Misty Gilley, 50, on felony narcotics charges for allegedly selling fentanyl, a powerful opioid, out of Simply Recovery, the substance abuse treatment facility she operates in Altamonte Springs, a city outside Orlando.

Gilley, seen at right, was freed from custody today after posting $49,500 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned on December 7. State incorporation records list Gilley as the manager and registered agent of Simply Recovery LLC.

According to a Seminole County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, the probe of Gilley began earlier this month when an investigator received information that she was “selling fentanyl and cocaine out of her place of business and her home.”

The Homosexual community now has a problem with language. Previously they were alright altering the definition of "gay". Words have definitions. First of all, there is no such thing as a Trans-Woman. There are men, women and wannabes.

Is a lesbian transphobic if she does not want to have sex with trans women? Some lesbians say they are increasingly being pressured and coerced into accepting trans women as partners - then shunned and even threatened for speaking out. Several have spoken to the BBC, along with trans women who are concerned about the issue too.

Warning: Story contains strong language

"I've had someone saying they would rather kill me than Hitler," says 24-year-old Jennie*.

"They said they would strangle me with a belt if they were in a room with me and Hitler. That was so bizarrely violent, just because I won't have sex with trans women."

Jennie is a lesbian woman. She says she is only sexually attracted to women who are biologically female and have vaginas. She therefore only has sex and relationships with women who are biologically female.

And this kind of shit doesn't help.

DENVER (AP) — The United States has issued its first passport with an “X” gender designation, marking a milestone in the recognition of the rights of people who do not identify as male or female, and expects to be able to offer the option more broadly next year, the State Department said Wednesday.

The department did not identify the passport recipient, but Dana Zzyym of Fort Collins, Colorado, told The Associated Press in a telephone interview it was their passport. Zzyym, who prefers a gender-neutral pronoun, has been in a legal battle with the government since 2015 over a passport.

Zzyym (pronounced Zimm) said the fight for the passport with an accurate gender designation was a way to help the next generation of intersex people win recognition as full citizens with rights.

“I’m not a problem. I’m a human being. That’s the point,” Zzyym said.

Those of us on the Right have to watch out for what we say. We deal with repercussions frequently. Refreshing to see someone on the left have free speech with consequences.

In October 2020, Nathan Jun was under fire at Midwestern State University after he wished for every policeman to be strangled with the “intestines of the last capitalist.”

Jun served as the Coordinator of the Philosophy Program and taught "Asian Philosophy and Religion," "Philosophy of Race and Racism," and "Ethics" at the Texas institution.

At the time, Campus Reform reported on Jun’s controversial comments, noting his support of ANTIFA. The social media post from September 2020 quoted the philosopher Denis Diderot, who said, “Men will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest.”

Middle school bus riders are Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

ATLANTA (WSB) – A bus full of students was heading to school when the driver had a medical emergency. The heroic actions of two middle schoolers saved their bus driver’s life.

“I looked down, and Miss Julie’s face is just like bright red and like shaking,” bus rider Conner Doss said.

It was a tense situation on the Paulding County School bus as the woman behind the wheel couldn’t breathe.

Student Kane Daughtrey didn’t have time to think – just react. He picked up the dispatch radio and called for help.

I saw Alice in Chains around the same time, I think they were opening for Van Hagar. They were better in the studio than live, in my opinion.

1.) Most kids aren't like that. I was a weird kid... My mom always said my brother and I were born at 50.

It needs about 3/8th in. more beavertail abaft the grip, have the front strap undercut under the trigger guard so as to eliminate that shallow curve. Which allows a higher grip on the gun, always a good thing. Replace the sights with Novak sights, and that's about it, I think.

IIRC, Novak got his start in the gunsmithing world by re-doing classic Hi-Powers to some pretty state-of-the-pistolsmithing-art showpieces. SPENDY showpieces. Springfield makes good stuff. BUY!

157 71 Redchief, So...any initial opinions on the new Springfield Browning HiPower? I'm starting to eye it...

The Browning HiPower was a classic design that had a few points deducted due to some design quirks. Heavier clunkier trigger than the 1911 due to the mag disconnect, sights that could have been improved, and hammer bite with a small original safety. And at least some of the older versions could have trouble with hollowpoints and +P ammo.

That being said, the new Springfield apparently has fixed those problems. Other than that, Browning Hi Powers point naturally, have a good reputations in battle, and fit most people's hands. One Turkish Tisas company was also making a BHP copy recently.

There are also some Kareens BHP clones made for Israeli forces and Charles Daly imported Hungarian FEG clones that are a bit rough but function. A Bulgarian firm made an updated version based on the BHP called the Arcus with modern materials and frame. Argentina's FM made a true clone of the BHP under license.

Stephen Camp, who has been gone for a few years now, had an excellent website all about the varieties of BHP's and important tips in keeping them running. Website is still around I think.

288 On Browning Hi Powers, if you want a modern version, the Mk. III is preferable or some like the Argentinian FM licensed from FN which at one time you could also get with a shortened slide like the 1911 variants. Believed it was called the Detective. These were imported to the US in the 80's and 90's with an ugly but serviceable paint finish something like Suncorite used for Enfields.

Collectors often like the Inglis and FN versions made during wartime but the internal ejector and the small sights make these more like a WWI version of the 1911 (before the A1).

Then there are the variants made by FEG, Kareens made somewhere for the Israelis, and the Arcus which departs quite a bit from the original in looks. One Com Bloc variant, looked like a BHP from the outside but inside used a copy of the Smith and Wesson semi auto pistol innards.

Yup. We've been taught so many myths. In reality gay men tend to be repelled by women and lesbians hold gay men (especially effeminate ones) in distain. The "Gay Community" is a lie. And pretty much all of them hate trannies.

I had a lot of (mostly female) gay friends in the '90s and remember seeing all the TV shows that felt the need to have an over the top well-adjusted, wise, compassionate and happy gay character. Quite often they were the only fully functional adult in the show.

But what I saw in real life was a lot of alcoholism, drug-abuse and domestic abuse (especially among the women) and rape and super-human levels of promiscuity among the men.

29v- this reminds me of my convo tonight with one of my kids.
my 13 year old daughter, who is a natural smartass, was telling me about one of the gay kids in her 8th grade class. she says he talks like a valley girl and is flamboyant and super gay.
i tried to interject that he's probably still developing and maybe this is a way for attention but she assures me he is most defintely a gay. i of course then make snide comments about the gheys as i knew them growing up in the 80s and was called homophobic by my kid which only made me laugh. anyway, and all i could think about was the few gays (men) i've met through work who were absolute train wrecks in their personal lives. shallow existence moving from drugs to endless miles of dick, loneliness and apathy. all of them miserable. the dykes i've met usually had their shit together.
so if its true this young kid is a queer, what a life of letdowns awaits him.

373 And Trevor's statement above *almost* makes sense, but only almost. 17-year-olds, while certainly usually more mature than 12- or 13-year-olds, are different.

It makes sense if you are evil. What the perverts are doing is conditioning children to give their bodies over to depravity.

From a spiritual standpoint, the Left through their sex trafficking feeder "schools" want to claim every soul for themselves to use and abuse.

Trevor approves of child grooming for sex and is apologizing for the Devil.

yup. that's what pissed me off in the '90s. Hollywood was selling a lie that led to disease, addiction, loneliness, unhappiness and suicide.

Also yes - after a certain age lesbians tend to want a long-term relationship and it's often more about companionship than sex. But the amount of physical abuse in the lesbian community is staggering. From a pro-gay website:

"43.8% of lesbian women and 61.1% of bisexual women have experienced rape, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner at some point in their lifetime, as opposed to 35% of heterosexual women."

But no one talks about it and we let these women continue to get beaten up because it goes against the narrative.

Truth is they were never very exciting in any way. While most of their songs were high quality (especially Superstar, IMHO), they really were marketed as a 'safe' alternative to the increasingly raucous rock of the 1970s. That also truly describes a lot of their music, in my eyes.

IIRC, if you want to obtain a "brand new, under warranty" version, it'll be the original '80s spec, with that year model in the new VIN and Manufacturers Certificate of Origin (which is the factory document that precedes the first registration with the State DMV.) Resto-mod? No new VIN or MSO, but they'll jack it up and park the shell over a whole new pile of modern guts for ya. Bring money.

Quite seriously, next time the demand that you do something with which you feel uncomfortable, ask them where this demand is listed in your job duties and how it will affect your ability to do your job. Give it back to them, and don't back down. They may not like it, but if they cannot answer in a sensible manner, then you have cause to go after them. Make sure you write down the circumstances.

479 I saw Slayer open for Judas Priest at the Cow Palace in 1988. That's actually true - Priest's "Ram it Down" tour. Great show, lousy album. Slayer was ok but I was there for Priest. Saw Priest at the Capital Center on their Turbo tour (1986 - Heavy Metal Parking Lot!). Dokken opened. Dokken has a few songs I don't mind hearing as an opening act, but Don Dokken was opening for one of the greatest metal singers of all time (and, to me, the most charismatic metal front man of all time - at least in the early-mid '80's). Check out JP's 1983 US Festival performance. Halford's performance - his singing, stage presence, "moves", etc. Unbeatable.

Regardless of your "orientation," until you act upon your perversion, you are not guilty of it. It is not the desire, but the act itself. How the desire came about, or how to curb it, is another story, one which may not have the same answers for everyone, but I do know that every homosexual man I've met was abused as a child and/or grew up without a father in the household.

Most lesbians, if pushed, will admit it is a preference, not a hardwired fact, but that also may vary. One of my college roommates grew up without a father and was a rather militant lesbian, but it turns out she was mostly just afraid of men; passionate but stunted.

497 @471 but if we are to be lectured by the likes of lady gaga that the gays are born this way, does that mean they have a genetic or physical defect that makes them gay?

----

Anyone who claims to know, doesn't. It's all theories. And it wouldn't surprise me if different people have different reasons for developing same sex attraction. I know (second-hand) of a gay guy who ended up developing an attraction to women, but I suspect that what happened in his case wouldn't necessarily work with every other gay man (and I'll note flat out that the man in question didn't intend to develop an attraction to women; he more or less just one day realized that it had happened). It's possible that in some cases it's hard-wired, while in others it's learned. We don't know enough about it to be able to say.

And unfortunately, the topic is so political that it's impossible to trust any study on the matter in the current environment.

I've never watched his show. All I've seen of his delivery and humor is the short pieces that they run in ads for his show. I would assume that if the purpose of the ad is to get viewers for his show, that they would use his best lines. It isn't just that he's a liberal, he just isn't funny. I will be the first to admit that Bill Maher and Jon Stewart are sometimes funny. I don't like them because of their view, but they are talented. Noah isn't, and neither is Colbert.

509 My parents complained to the school about the sexually explicit material I was being forced to read when I was 17. The school wrote them off as provincial weirdos, which didn't surprise me as my teacher had already told me the material I objected to was "symbolic". I don't want to be the kind of person who reads an explicit description of an adult woman molesting her young nephew (I hate my eidetic memory because I will never forget "He felt the hand without the black bandage on it diving like a blind shellfish into the algae of his anxiety") and says, "Wow, what gorgeous symbolism!!!"

Other events described explicitly in the book:
-Bestiality (multiple incidents)
-35 year old man with dozens of children already, each with a different woman, fixates on a 12yo girl and waits for her to have her first period so he can marry her. She is thrilled about it and eagerly awaits said period

512 My daughter, in grade 9, was telling me today about a tranny in her class, a girl who now dresses like a boy, uses the boys' washroom, is quite a showoff about it all, loving the attention. "He" is now letting it be known that "he" is attracted to another girl in the class. Which led me into a discussion, "you're young now but soon you all will be 15,16,17 and playing around with dating. If she rejects "him" is she a bad person? If "he" gets aggressive and rude and she counters stating her attraction to actual real males is she a bad person?
Anyway, I finished up repeating a lesson I've taught her since kindergarten - you have to go to school, the gov't forces you, but you don't have to have anything to do with any of the other kids if you don't want to. If you wish, they do not exist, they are nothing to you.
She'll play ball, call her "him", but she knows the score. No flies on her.

Oddly enough, I have been listening to a bit of Crue lately -- Too Fast for Love, Too Young to Fall in Love, Looks That Kill, Live Wire, Red Hot.... They have some good stuff and it's well-produced, but the band itself, well, it's amazing none of them are dead (or remained dead). I read that Nikki Sixx (his legal name) moved to Wyoming and seems to be a pretty good dude these days -- moved out of L.A. because he wanted a better environment for his young kids, and to stay healthy and stuff after his party days nearly killed him permanently. I respect that. I feel sorry for Mick Mars, who has ankylosing spondylitis. Vince Meal, well, he's got no excuses and he should've done hard time for manslaughter.

527 If my teacher is to be believed, Central America loves all that and considers it glorious. The author in question is considered the greatest ever from his country and one of the greatest Spanish authors.

I will admit, he has some striking imagery, but he also wrote a scene involving a thirteen year old girl running from her house waving her blood-stained underwear in glee that she was finally going to get to marry a man over twenty years her senior who already had 27 children with 27 different women.

To me, it's the same category as Lolita. I don't care how glorious the writing is from a technical standpoint - it's revolting. (And I've never forgotten that John Derbyshire admitted he loved Lolita so much he'd bought dozens of copies over the years. What's interesting is to look at inflation adjusted gas prices.

Around 1920, the average price of gas was $4.27 in 2020 dollars. During the '30s it was around $3.50ish. It came steadily down and reached a minimum of $2.22 in '72. Then it rose to a peak of $3.83 in '81, then came back down, reaching an absolute minimum of $1.61 in '98. It shot back up to $3.86 in 2008, crashed during the '08 Crash, then popped back up $3.99 in 2012.

The average of that curve from 1920 to 2020 is $2.86. And again, that's in constant 2020 dollars.

What has changed for most people over the decades is the mileage they drive in a year at least til the Covid thing started. Indeed. If you want to look at it even more detail, it depends on which deflator you use. The above I went through uses the CPI. That is, our real price unit is the CPI basket of goods (which changes itself).

If you use the GDP deflator, you get a slight different picture.

The trends of peaks and troughs are roughly the same, but their values are different. In 2019 GDP deflated dollars, the early 20s - 70s values are less than the CPI. The minimum in '72 was below $2.

But, the peak in 2012 was much higher, a bit over $4.

My. Oh. My. My sense of great musical performances is when there is complete and total commitment to music - it is there that the last bits of everything pour out. The best word we have for this is musical but the totality of the moment is far more profound, everything goes free and stops being music. Thank you for the video.

I remember as I was finishing grad school in the early 90s the GL whatever group was having protests that there was not enough gay sex fiction in the university libraries. I studied STEM and thought university libraries were supposed to hold academic resources, not recreational porn collections.

Why the hell are high school and middle school librarians stocking their shelves with pornographic material of any type? And why abuse taxpayers by forcing them to subsidize any of that, but especially bizarro fringe crap? Do they buy Hustler or whatever the equivalent is for the libraries too?

IMO, to be called and treated as a singer, one should be able to actually sing without the aid of electronics and fancy studio gimmicks.

Can you, without any modification or even music, sing without causing dogs to howl, or cats to defecate, etc. If you can, we go from there. If not, you get gonged.

Now, if you survive all that and are actually a good natural singer, then if you want to do the fancy electronic shit, etc, to augment it, you can.

I'll play. Rock and Roll Music by Chuck Berry. Johnny B. Goode, I suspect, would be most people's all-time greatest Berry song and I most certainly cannot argue much with that choice. But I prefer Rock and Roll Music as it is an full on anthem that is an alpha and omega moment that defines America not just our music but us as a people. In 300 years Chuck Berry will be seen as our Bach or Mozart. One of the greatest versions is the one the Beatles recorded. If I recall correctly, the band did it live in the studio and in one take.

I couldn't get arrested as a singer, and even if I could sing I couldn't play guitar and sing. I can't even talk and play. I played drums for some years along with the guitar, so I always have drums in my head while playing the guitar. Adding talking or singing is one too many things to add on top of guitar and the drums going on in my head. It screws up my rhythm.

Put "Karen Carpenter acapella" in Youtube. There you'll see some of the near-isolated vocal tracks of her biggest hits. There's some drums and bass in them, but you can mostly hear her pure voice.

She more than passes the "great singer" test. And she starved herself to death. That makes me cry.

Posted by: publius, Rascally Rapscallion (Mzdiz) at October 28, 2021 01:10 AM (Mzdiz)

613 "Flaming Telepaths" by Blue Oyster Cult is very apropos these days.

Hustler? LOL. Does that even exist anymore? Meh, many young boys like to look at pictures of naked women. When I was a Cub Scout, we'd have the monthly paper drives, and all the boys would ensure that no porno went unfound.

Well, I didn't know this existed, but here's "Mr. Postman" near-isolated vocals. There's a horn in there, but not when she's singing. She's down in her lower register most of the time, here, and that's were the magic in her voice is:

https://www.youtube.com/
watch?v=4Js2sNpBEkY

I remember reading a while back that she couldn't really project, belt it out, in her lower register, and so had to be close mic'd, which can be problematic, but she shined.
