Washington Post and Leftist Media Repeatedly Gives Terry McAuliffe a Pass on His Serial Lies About Covid

Terry McAuliffe is a congenital liar, and one of the things he's been lying about congenitally is the number of covid cases in Virginia. He only has two campaign planks -- tying Youngkin to Trump, and claiming Youngkin is "anti-vax" -- so he constantly claims that Virginia has a higher rate of covid infection and covid death than even the padded official numbers say.

This is his way of turning out the Covid Panic Vote.

It's gotten so bad that even the wildly disreputable leftwing clickbait mill The Daily Beast has been forced to call him on one of his lies:

John Sexton at Hot Air points out that the Washington Post has given McAuliffe three free passes on lying about covid -- buying the campaign's excuses that he just "misspoke" in the same way three times, even after the paper called him to get a comment about the lie -- but finally awards him four Pinnochios on his fourth covid lie.

Here is the Washington Post's "fact-checker" explaining why he repeatedly failed to correct Terry McAuliffe's Dangerous and Conspiratorial Misinformation on Covid.

In speaking about the threat of the coronavirus to the state, McAuliffe frequently touts numbers -- often wrong numbers about the impact on children. When we first queried the McAuliffe campaign about his figures, we were told it was a slip of the tongue. Okay, we understand that, and so we passed on a fact check. But then his tongue kept slipping...

I'm sure they provide this "slip of the tongue" latitude to Republicans as well. And not just Democrats who are on the verge of losing a major trendsetting race.

One could argue that citing a weekend number in this fashion -- "We had 8,000 cases yesterday in Virginia" and "Just this week, 8,000 cases on Monday in Virginia" -- certainly would leave the misleading impression he was talking about a one-day number. But we got busy with other stuff and chose not to do a fact check...
The McAuliffe campaign said that he simply misspoke. Okay, we moved on.

Look how understanding the "fact-chekers" are.

New covid numbers are often released on Mondays and the Covid Panic Spreaders have long misled people into thinking that a Monday number -- which includes Friday, Saturday, and Sundays numbers as well -- was a one-day count. The political left, including the political propaganda media, have repeatedly done this to DeSantis.

The number McAuliffe is talking about includes even more days than the typical three or four.

Why has McAuliffe repeatedly used a higher number than that? Good question. A spokesman for his campaign did not respond to emails and text messages over a period of four days.

So, only after Terry McAuliffe's campaign got tired of being asked about the lies, and tired of having to make excuses, did the Washington Post's "fact-checker" finally check the facts.

This isn't about covid; this is about a bruised ego. McAuliffe's campaign blew him off instead of apologizing too him and making him feel important, so he finally did his job.

I just read a good take-down of Pfizer's "clinical trial" data on the children, aged 5 - 11. The treatment arm had about 1500 in it, and the control had 750 kids.

How many serious cases of Covid occured? Zero. Zip, Nada, in either treatment or control group. They thus had to infer, impute efficacy data based on antibody levels, which were compared to other cohorts.

And, as always, once the trial ended, they destroyed the control group by vaxing them all. It would be unethical not to, they said.

So essentially, it's really a modeling exercise and not actual trial, correct? That's the way I'm reading this. There were no actual effects to be measured.

Don't forget that Pfizer presented in their own data that they projected that for every 1 million kids given the clot shot, they would save one from death by coof, but 100 would develop myocarditis.

To get the myocarditis risk numbers, they used their own proprietary database, called "Optum" something. But then, for myocarditis death rates, they switched to a public data base.

Their conclusion was 0 excess deaths from myocarditis to be expected.

So there you go.
