Campaign to Recall San Francisco's Soros DA Gets a Lift From Former Prosecutors Who Quit The Criminal-Sheltering DA's Office

Chesa Boudin is the son of two terrorists -- Kathy Boudin and David Gilbert. They were both fellow members of the Weather Underground with Barack Obama's pal and likely ghostwriter, Bill Ayers.

As a matter of fact, Chesa Boudin was raised by Obama's pal Bill Ayers and his terrorist wife Bernadette Dohrn while his parents were fugitive murderers on the run from the police.

Having both a long Marxist pedigree (his grandfather was a Trotskyite) and a terrorist pedigree as well -- and being proud of his lineage -- obviously George Soros couldn't wait to finance his campaign.

Boudin promised a policy of "decarceration" -- a euphemism for letting violent, dangerous criminals out of jail, and refusing to prosecute serious crimes. Among the most visible effects of this policy of "decarceration" is the rampant organized and blatant daylight robberies of stores by gangs of thieves, but Boudin also works assiduously to release, for example, a violent repeat-offender carjacker methhead from jail so that he can run down citizens in the streets in (yet another) stolen car.

His murderous mom and terrorist dad would approve.

Fifty of his prosecutors -- almost all of them certainly left-liberal Democrats, as any lawyer in San Francisco is likely to be -- have either resigned or been fired from Boudin's radical, pro-crime office, and some have even joined the recall effort to remove him from office.

Two San Francisco prosecutors have quit their jobs in the district attorney’s office of a progressive prosecutor and joined an effort to recall him.

Prosecutors Brooke Jenkins and Don Du Bain told KNTV they have stepped down from their posts in San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin's office due to his lack of commitment to prosecuting crimes.

"Chesa has a radical approach that involves not charging crime in the first place and simply releasing individuals with no rehabilitation and putting them in positions where they are simply more likely to re-offend," Jenkins said in the interview. "Being an African American and Latino woman, I would wholeheartedly agree that the criminal justice system needs a lot of work, but when you are a district attorney, your job is to have balance."

Du Bain added that he believed Boudin "disregards the laws that he doesn't like, and he disregards the court decisions that he doesn't like to impose his own version of what he believes is just – and that's not the job of the district attorney."

...

Open-air drug markets and homelessness, coupled with upticks in blatant daylight shoplifting, residential and commercial burglaries, shootings and other violent crimes, have left citizens "starting to wake up to the reality that's now become their nightmare as far as public safety and crime goes," Montoya said.

This is actually the second recall effort to oust Boudin. The first failed. Apparently a majority of San Franciscans supported murder and mayhem in the streets.

And Boudin isn't shy about his ultimate goal:

Addressing the two recall efforts during his tenure, Boudin participated in a national organizing call for the campaign group "Our Revolution," which was advertised as "celebrating 5 years of electing progressive champions from coast to coast." Mentioning how both of his parents were incarcerated growing up, Boudin argued that America’s approach to mass incarceration is not rehabilitating people.

Du Bain said that in one specific case, he was ordered by Boudin to request a more lenient sentence for a man convicted of shooting his girlfriend. Du Bain believed that was a violation of a state statute and withdrew from the case in protest.

"I've done 136 jury trials in my career -- never, never withdrawn from a case before," Du Bain said. "I've seen decisions made in this office in the last year plus, since Chesa took over, that shocked my conscience -- and I've been a prosecutor for 30 years."

Brooke Jenkins was also interviewed by the San Francisco Chronicle:

Jenkins, 40, is Black and Latina and -- like Boudin -- describes herself as a progressive prosecutor who has long sought alternatives to incarceration. She told me she agrees with the central tenet of Boudin's campaign: that the criminal justice system is racist and needs reform.

But she disagrees with what she sees as Boudin prioritizing ideology and politics over the day-to-day handling of cases, which she said has yielded an unorganized office, plummeting morale and bad outcomes for victims and their families.

It's important to note that this is personal for Jenkins. One of those families was her husband's -- devastated by the slaying last year of his 18-year-old cousin and what the family views as an ineffective prosecution of his alleged killers.

"The D.A.'s office now is a sinking ship," she said. "It's like the Titanic, and it's taking public safety along with it."

More cases of "decarceration" of killers and carjackers can be found near the end of this Legal Insurrection article.

The recall campaign submitted over 80,000 signatures to force a recall, 32,000 more than what was needed.

Assuming that California judges don't disqualify the campaign for some reason, maybe they'll actually vote this son of murderers and Terrorist Princeling out of office.

But I doubt it.

Say: Barack Obama is suddenly on the campaign trails again.

Would he care to weigh in on Chesa Boudin -- someone Obama almost was certainly friends with in Hyde Park when he was being raised by his good friends Bill Ayers and Bernadette Dohrn?

Or would that be a made-up outrage culture war thing?

My Aunt and Uncle just moved in September from SF to North Carolina and they couldn't get out fast enough. My uncle was a reporter there in SF for over 35 years... his last day, the city of SF declared it " Day"...

The next day he was on a plane heading for his new home in NC with the rest of my family.

I'd be lying if I said that their cross-country relocation wasn't in part because of issues like this one.

And I can proudly say I never will, which now is justified from a purely health and wellness perspective.

79 ace a somewhat similar situation happened/is happening in LA. There the recall effort couldn't even collect enough signatures to go on the ballot back in September. And there also, prosecutors and other players in the system, in LA County and those they deal with, largely loathe the Sorosian DA (Gascon).

But all they're going to do is try to change out a little piece here, slightly alter a few procedures there. Nothing they can conceive of doing will possibly change that city's trajectory.

I envision most of the core city abandoned and in ruins within 20 years - maybe 10. And I don't think anyone can now prevent that, no matter how well intentioned they are.

Prospective homebuyers have to be quick if they are looking for a home in the 94110 ZIP Code because more than three-quarters were under contract within two weeks of being listed.

That's an important stat. Sale prices can be high but if there's no volume and things languish on the market, it doesn't indicate a boom. Things are apparently moving fast, too, at least in that ZIP code. I suspect SF is still in good shape but the margins of Silicon Valley are probably slowing down in appreciation and sale volume. I'm not sure and I don't feel like doing a big ad-hoc analysis.

The serfs can wallow in filth and fear and nothing happens until someone in the self-elevated political class gets a touch of real life.

I'm on the fence here. Should I keep hoping SF keeps getting it good and hard to let the lesson sink in and last more than ONE election cycle for ONE job, or hope they get this evil out ASAP? Whatever, I have zero confidence they'll be able to (or even want) this cancer out. It's an alien city.

107 Still have a good friend in SF, need to check in with him, not sure how much the degradation there has affected him and his family. It's off the list for a visit for some time now, for various reasons, which is a shame.

SF was never any place I'd want to live (weather is crappy, ocean's untouchable without a hood/booties/thick suit, etc), and the arrogance of the place was amusing but also off-putting (still remember a local TV "news" lead-in blurb there back in the late 90s, just before the first internet bubble burst) - "From the best place on Earth ...." (literally something along those lines). I guffawed (to myself).

Used to love to visit, great vistas and walking and restaurants (though over-rated/too expensive).

LA on the other hand has always been a dystopian high-paced nightmare, compared to SD, but for several decades I've enjoyed visiting to exploit the amazing food/restaurants (not expensive, ethnic, not over-rated), mostly. Now? Even when their extravagantly idiotic C19 policies have faded away, not sure.

You made the right choice. I lived in Marin in the 70's, and SF was my playground as a teen. Had an office there in the late 90's. My last visit was 2007, when Newsom was mayor. I couldn't believe even then how bad it had gotten in 8 years. The stench of urine and feces, bums in previously nice areas. Was taking wife shopping up in Union Square. Except Gavin was having a party, so the PD cordoned off the entire area, basically taking over the park and streets surrounding it. Tents with ice sculptures and champagne fountains, people milling around in tuxes admiring themselves. Tourists who'd planned and saved for a year or more? Well, you can fuck right off. Go into Neiman Marcus the back way, peon.

I refuse to go back for any reason, or even do business with any SF based company. Monterey/Carmel is still mostly untouched. San Jose has gone from a newly upgraded world-class city to third world shithole in 20 years flat. And now they're all moving to my town. With the homeless and gang-bangers.

The myth is that *EVERYONE* is leaving SF (see above), and it's become some kind of ghost town. The reality is that housing prices continue to go up in SF and the surrounding areas. Maybe not at the same rate as other places, but still increasing steadily. Which means people are not leaving in droves. Or, if they are, those people are being replaced by others moving in.

Apparently they are getting out of the vacation rental car business and are aiming for very short distance hotel to office renters.

Also this may cause a LOT of cap ex to retrofit every Hertz location unless they mandate cars are returned to where they originated.

That hit me because I do think the criminal justice system needs to be reformed, not because it's racist but because far too many things are crimes, and my loathing of prosecutors isn't exactly hidden. But. But my criminal justice reform views absolutely and utterly start with an assumption that there is a baseline level of maintenance of social order and it was and is humiliating to have that unconscious assumption thrown in my face. Now it's more about we need to focus scarce resources on important matters than a grand, lofty philosophical view.

I despise when reality messes with my theory.

The $7500 subsidy is only applicable to the first 200K EVs a manufacturer sells. Tesla is well past that number. But other manufacturers like Audi, BMW, etc are still under that threshold so the incentive is still available.

However that is just the federal side. Some states, counties and cities (mostly in CA) have all sorts of incentives, as do some power companies. There are leases for EVs in California that cost $0/mo after all the rebates.

What happens when the Chinese run into the emerging Hispanic majority?

I know when I'm relying on someone in whose hands I put my life, I want the guys who didn't make the cut the first time.

I bet they're not going to feature that in their ads or pilot announcements:

"Welcome to American Airlines flight 666 lead by Capt. McCain, who untill last week was number 599 on our 600 person list of potential hires. But Capt. McCain doesn't care what he puts in his body and he takes every shot available. Woop! Now, please buckle up!!"

390 Yep- had to show we got the jab.

We had no idea how bad and totalitarian it was in San Fran.

But the druggies were free to shoot up in Union Sqare.

And there is a health tax when you eat dinner in a restaurant, so that added to the cost of dining out. Also, must show you have been vaccinated to get in the restaurant.

I will not be going back, ever.

When the big one hits, it will be a blessing. I do not understand the appeal of living there. It is a shit hole city.

393 I was in San Francisco for a wedding in 1976. Yeah, it was a smelly city then, but I felt safe walking anywhere I wanted to go.
Wandered the City for a week. Took a helicopter trip around Alcatraz.
I had fond memories of the place.

394 That hit me because I do think the criminal justice system needs to be reformed, not because it's racist but because far too many things are crimes...

Since most lawyers in practice today are amoral, there is a dramatic decrease in prosecuting crimes that involve people a/o property, while it seems most are going after process "crimes". It may be that because of relativism (e.g. "its not rape-rape") or people are untouchable (Alec Baldwin can slay people and not seriously fear a criminal record) or social warriors want to get free drinks (don't prosecute protected minorities for anything) all that is left is imprisoning the Martha Stewarts while freeing the Charles Mansons.

I always love when I make a prediction to wife and I'm 100% correct. We've been getting expensive four color brochures from standing school board candidates, cautioning about 'inexperienced candidates'. I told my wife, "Hold my beer for a few days".

Sure enough, the 'experienced' school board peeps are fine with teachers handing out detailed sexual surveys about the LGBWTFLOL agenda to every grade and pushing for CRT.

Vote early and often in November. Send a message from the lowest level. The top level is watching. I'm not sure who the top level is in the Biden administration, but I'm sure it's not the paste eater in chief.

I don't want to fly on a plane piloted by a random illegal alien-grade Guatemalan that United picked up at Home Depot for a fist full of sweaty $20 bills.

But, I kind of want to watch people's reactions when the pilot comes on the intercom in some MesoAmerican pidgin Spanish, and the stewardess is a ten-year old in flip flops with nothing but Chiclets.

___

Getting shot in the chest, basically blowing out your heart, doesn't matter if they did slap a hot iron to it, she was dead before she hit the floor.

If she bled out by being shot in the lungs or other organ, not surprising that she bled out if no one stopped the bleeding.

Having seen reports of "bleeding from the shoulder" made think brachial artery hit. If the bullet was a soft lead cast projo, prolly worse than a hollow point.

Makes me wonder what sort of trauma kit and trained personnel were on hand, too.

404 If the airlines are able to "beef up" personnel ahead of an expected labor crunch, my guess would be that they'd have to hire retired-but-still-eligible pilots back on at a steep premium. I can't see how else it would work... their other option would be to hire them away from one another, which obviously wouldn't work - an unvaxxed pilot at one airline is still unvaxxed at the next.

I saw a clip of that judge from a while back. He seemed like a no nonsense guy. Bitch slapped the prosecution on several motions, basically saying you gotta fucking be kidding me with this shit.

Yes he is doing the same things today. The prosecutor is making absurd arguments and he shoots them down. One of the prosecutor's statements was "It doesn't matter who the aggressor is, " because his "murder victim" was the aggressor.
