I'm celebrating the life of a truly wonderful person today.

My Aunt was probably the person I loved the most outside immediate family.

Happy Nancy, thank you forever for your irrepressible humor and for your boundless love. Your ability to not take crap from anyone while still making them feel loved is just one of the many things that made you unique.

Thank you for unforgettable parties, memorable meals, and for passing that bottle of Jack huddled in the wind and rain and lightning at Poconos Racetrack.

My memories of you will always be defined by love and laughter.

I suppose that is as fine an epitaph as anyone could have.

One of my colleagues, before she got into her Ph.D. program, used to do editing gigs on a website called "reedsy," and steered me to it. I've got to check it out. If I can gain some experience at that and make some dough, so that I can get some gigs in future, it'll fill out my income atop the SS and pension. Maybe I can retire next June, or even earlier. Publish my novels on Amazon, and start a website for them and for my editing consultant work. (Sounds like a full-time job.)

102 The kerfuffle about whether Biden has been to the border amuses me. This guy is the most northeast corridor liberal ever - this guy literally commuted and still does between Delaware and Washington for 50 years. And people thought Bush 41 was isolated, imagine the world of your president as being defined by his office in Washington, an Amtrak train and his home in Delaware. No wonder he's disconnected.

120 Incredibly, in 2020, approximately 61% of Americans paid no federal income taxes, according to the Tax Policy Center.

Therefore, approximately 39% of Americans paid all federal income taxes. They are rewarded for this staggering largess by being told they need to pay their fair share.

Their fair share, one might logically surmise, would be around 39% of the federal income taxes paid, not 100%.

138 One thing the public education unions are skillful at is avoiding responsibility, at best it defaults back to the taxpayer. Once the kids are dropped off, "In Loco Parentis" applies.

Notice however their actual physical safety? "Not my department." A lunatic shoots up the kindergarden? Well too bad so sad, apparently. And we pay for this arrangement.

151 This thread of the situation in Lithuania is terrifying.

Gluboco Lietuva at_gluboco: https://bit.ly/3b3AIvP

In just 6 weeks, the Covid Pass has transformed my country into a regime of control and segregation.

This is the new society created in Lithuania, the nation furthest along the path to the authoritarianism inevitably facing all countries which impose a Covid Pass regime:

The Covid Pass in Lithuania is called the "Opportunity Pass". The Opportunity Pass allows you the opportunity to participate in society. Without the Opportunity Pass, you don't have opportunity: your rights are restricted.

My wife and I don't have the Covid Pass. We refuse to accept the authoritarianism and control of the new regime. So we've lost our jobs and been banished from most of society. It's been 6 weeks so far. There is currently no end date planned for the new regime. With no Pass, we may only enter small shops with street entrances which mainly sell essential goods: food, pharma, optics, or farm/pet goods.

Lithuania's Covid Pass started in May as a temporary measure. The goal: "facilitate economic activity". In August, the temporary measure to help the economy became a permanent law to banish people from society. Temporary expansion of bureaucratic control is never temporary. Particularly when the problem supposedly being solved is caused by the very bureaucrats who use it to justify expanding their own power.

Lithuania's Covid Pass law does not ban specific activities. Instead, it prohibits people without a Pass from all services and economic activities involving human contact. Then, starting from zero rights, it grants us limited permissions such as buying food in small shops. This is an inversion of universal rights. In a free society, you can do whatever you want, unless the law prohibits you. Under Lithuania's new Covid Pass regime, it's inverted: you can't do anything, unless a bureaucrat allows you.

The Covid Pass is an emergency law. There's little accountability, oversight, or media scrutiny. With power unchecked, bureaucrats make arbitrary rules. And they reverse arbitrary rules. Again. And again. This is not science or health.

It is California laws that are causing the back log. They drove about 60,000 independent truck drivers out of business with their stupid attempt to put lyft and uber out of business. Plus their air quality laws require the newest trucks being built or they can't operate at the ports and there is a serious shortage of those being built.

- laws/regs that prohibit containers from being moved by entities other than owner
- laws/code restricting where containers can be unloaded

227 Medicare supplemental plans (typically something like an Advantage plan) are highly localized - down to the county is my understanding. Then there is the gap insurance. You really have to be on your toes when selecting a plan. Pretty good coverage runs about $150.00 a month plus any gap insurance. The joker in the deck is the plan cost is means tested. I sold a bunch of stock to pay for a house - my Medicare premium jumped too about $400.00 a month; I was mildly amused by that turn of events. Like I said life is expensive and then you die.

The 2 high stacking limitation is particularly impactful. The unloading and supporting areas are plumb out of room. There is no place to unload any full containers arriving. And thus, no way to reduce the glut of empty containers choking the pipeline.

In the mid-1990s during Bill Clinton's campaign for his second presidential term, the Clinton administration worked towards ensuring a Chinese shipping company with communist ties received a good deal on another Long Beach shipping terminal.

The bad China deals didn't stop with Clinton, either. Under the Obama administration, US-China relations shifted, with Obama positioning the United States as a partner to China, rather than a competitor. As the US became less competitive with China in the name of "international cooperation", the Obama administration gradually began to allow more and more Chinese conglomerates to buy out American properties and businesses. The Democrat-backed policies that gave China trade advantages are, in part, responsible for the development of the current state of affairs in which China has a disproportionately large influence on American commerce.

253 You notice in that article it talks about President Trump's efforts to reverse Obama's work of making the USA a partner with China.

This review followed President Trump's refusal to allow Singaporean-owned tech company Broadcom to purchase the California-based telecommunications giant Qualcomm - the president's decision largely informed by CFIUS concerns that the American company would be undermined, easily allowing China to gain an advantage over the United States in microchip technology.

President Trump has taken steps to put America first again...

Within the past several years, China has rapidly advanced its strategy to weaken the American dollar, destabilize our economy, and replace the United States as the dominant economic world power. The increasing Chinese ownership of American industry is actively weakening our country while diminishing our national security and self-reliance.

President Trump has taken a strong stance on China, addressing the trade deficit and the country's theft of American intellectual property. If Americans wish to curb Chinese influence on American commerce and our economic strength, we must follow President Trump's lead.

Plus their air quality laws require the newest trucks being built or they can't operate at the ports and there is a serious shortage of those being built

After my Mom died in 1991, I started visiting my previously deceased Dad's older brother, Ainslee, outside of Berkeley Springs, West Virginia. He took it upon himself to connect me with the rest of the not large extended family. Sitting up at night reading in a dark living room with small table lamps providing oases of light was just like being with my Dad. Plus it was so peaceful out there it helped me put things in their proper places.

The USA Deep State had been working since the Clinton Administration to make the USA a partner with - and submissive to - China. And then Trump came in and was ruining all their plans. So the USA Deep State worked with China to take out Trump.

What I could not even fathom was that this was all bigger than just USA-China. This was about The Great Reset and turning every country in the world into Australia and Lithuania ("Opportunity Pass").

267 ***If*** the daily mail report is accurate, Baldwin's only real culpability is in running a set in an unsafe manner. As producer, he did set up precautions like hiring an armorer, setting up a protective shield to defend the cameraman and director from debris, etc., and he was explicitly told the gun was "cold" (meaning just a blank, i assume), so a plexiglass shield should have been sufficient. He demonstrably made an effort to be safe, but just wasn't. Negligent, but not reckless.

I just don't think, based on nothing but gut intuition, that that report is 100% accurate.

So far, that's just gossip. I happen to think it's true, which is part of why the daily mail report smells funky to me, but it's not a definite fact.

Exactly. Life is full of profound moments if you take the time notice them or, more likely, find yourself mentally or spiritually attuned to them. These people and moments are blessings. And if we are lucky, we get to pay them forward.

I think he leveled up in the PedoWood hierarchy. The whole thing was a fake and gay ritual. The Rube Goldberg Machine sequence of clusterfuc9s occurring on a MOVIE SET = psyop. That brand new up and coming UKRAINIAN "cinematographer" isn't dead and wasn't a cinematographer.

During the 1996 election the WSJ was lasered in the cash flowing from China to Clinton. It was stunning and as is the case typically with these things, nearly impossible to make a case that would stand up in court. 25 years later the fruit of that Uniparty seed is ripe and rotten to the core.

He will be hosting Saturday Night Live or making the late night talk show circuit in a few months. There he lauded for his bravery, grace, and sensitivity in the face of events that were clearly not his fault but, because of his integrity, will still accept full responsibility for them while contesting every lawsuit that arises as a consequence of this shooting.

289 As a yute, I was sitting up late with some old guys at a hunting camp one night, a regular long time member of the annual gathering had died in the previous month...when a bottle came out, and drinks were poured, the oldest guy mentioned the departed by name and said...
"Damn Fine Human Being"
the assembled nodded solemnly, said "Hear,Hear" and drank.
From that day to this I have never heard a better Epitaph. I aspire to one day deserve it said of Me.
