From Twitter's "news:"

Remains found in Florida park are those of Brian Laundrie, FBI confirms

Suspected human remains recovered on October 20 in a Florida park are those of Brian Laundrie, the FBI announced on Thursday. The FBI said dental record analysis confirmed the identification. Laundrie, the sole person of interest in the death of his fiancee Gabby Petito, was reported missing on September 17.

CNN and MSNBC probably won't cover this. They don't have the time, you see. They're doing that 24/7 wall-to-wall coverage of missing Women of Color, you know. Just like they promised.

The New York Times
@nytimes

Dental records confirmed that the human remains found in a thickly wooded Florida park were those of Brian Laundrie, a "person of interest" in the murder of his fiancee, Gabrielle Petito, the FBI said on Thursday.

Wait, dental records confirm this?

If I know anything about mystery TV shows, dental records are the most easily spoofed form of record!

Hmmmm...

JUST IN - U.S. House passed a resolution to hold Steve Bannon in contempt of Congress. Nine Republicans voted yes:

Beutler, Cheney, Fitzpatrick, Gonzalez, Katko, Kinzinger, Mace, Meijer, Upton.

The cost of moving a shipping container from Asia to the US has skyrocketed from $3,800 under Trump to over $17,000 today.

Freightos also revealed that shipping to the east coast is more expensive than the west coast, with rates reaching $20,000.

The increase in shipping cost is primarily due to the supply chain crunch, which is jamming seaports, trucking companies, and warehouses.

Housing prices continue rising, making homeownership more unaffordable than ever.

The median existing-home price for all housing types in September was $352,800, a 13.3 percent increase from a year ago, data released Thursday by the National Association of Realtors showed. Prices were up across the country.

The median price for single-family homes $359,700 in September, up 13.8 percent from September 2020.

Noted Throuple Enthusiast Katie Hill is pregant.

She's pregnant with a member of the media's child.

A member of the media who just happened to mount a defense of her claiming the sexual harassment/throuple story was a conspiracy theory invented by right-wing enemies.

One of the journos who defended Hill was a guy named Alex Thomas, who worked for Playboy at the time. He claimed the whole scandal was a conspiracy by those dirty Republicans, and he seemed to think he was going to win awards for his work.

But Thomas retracted the story the next day and nothing ever came of it, for the simple reason that it never happened.

A few months later, it was reported that Hill and Thomas attended a book party together. Thomas claimed they were just pals, but a few days after that, it was revealed that they had been dating since before she got caught diddling the help. Thomas had vigorously defended Hill in print without revealing he was also having sex with her. That was a bit of a no-no, even by the woefully degraded standards of 21st Century journalism....

The leftwing Democrat Party continues its genius campaign of telling people affected by inflation and empty shelves to shut up and focus on the Luxury Concern that so bother the Ruling Class.

Screenshot (625).png

Screenshot (626).png

Remember, this Ruling Class toff is running for Lt. Governor of Texas. But he's proud to show off that he doesn't know what groceries cost because Lupe and Flora handle all that for him.

A "Luxury Concern" is one that you need a tremendous amount of money and security to even bother thinking about. The Ruling Class likes showing off that it does not have Common Concerns, but only "high class" Luxury Concerns.

@Jim_Jordan

Ron Klain: Inflation is a "high class" problem.

Jen Psaki: It's a "tragedy" that your treadmill is delayed.

Washington Post: Lower your "expectations" about the supply chain crisis.

The Left - so out of touch.

Luxury Concerns like worrying about which pronouns your Hollywood Trans Child wants to use this week.

Halloween franchise star Jamie Lee Curtis, a gun control pusher, Planned Parenthood spox, who backed Joe Biden in 2020, is expressing renewed support for her biological son coming out as transgender, calling herself a "grateful student" of all the new lessons in gender identity.

"I'm a grateful student. It's learning new terminology and words," the Halloween Kills star said in a recent interview with People.

Curtis revealed this past July that her biological son, with whom she shares with husband Christopher Guest, now identifies as a woman named Ruby, saying she watched "in wonder and pride" as the transition unfolded.

Entertainment rag Variety straight-up defames comedian Vito Gesauldi by lying that it was Gesauldi "pushing" the trans extremists -- when anyone watching the video could see it was the trans extremists getting physical with him.

Gesauldi tweeted out for help from lawyers.

He should sue. The media cannot be permitted to just lie and defame citizens as a standard operating procedure and key part of their business model.

"I did it for the clickbait and rage-clicks" is not a defense to defamation.

Has-been child actress Alyssa Milano says that Dave Chappelle's Netflix special should be cancelled.

Left-wing activist and actress Alyssa Milano says Netflix should pull veteran comedian Dave Chappelle's special The Closer, adding that it is "really important to hold people accountable" in this new era of cancel culture.

After being asked by a photographer to share her thoughts on the so-called "Chappelle controversy," Milano said, "I think there's no room for any hate speech right now in America."

"I think Netflix should pull the special, and Dave should actually sit down and have a conversation with people from the community so that they can tell him why they were hurt by it."

Meanwhile, Alyssa Milano's former co-star on Charmed tells Netflix protesters to stop being delicate pissbabies.

Then when the body burned beyond recognition in a car crash, the wife produced the tooth for a DNA match.

Democracy is just a big word to say "Mob Rule" and what the vote counters claim the majority wants, then that is what they get - after the appropriate cut outs and other considerations are made.

OTOH, a Constitutional Republic is the only form of government that respects "fundamental Rights" mainly because it is supposedly under the charter of an organization document that puts boundaries on what the representatives can do to the public.

180 Criminal contempt of Congress? Boy, that's gotta be a looooong line.

>> James Clapper's perjury, and why DC made men don't get charged for lying to Congress
In DC, perjury is not simply tolerated, it is rewarded. In a city of made men and women, nothing says loyalty quite as much as lying under oath.
Jonathan Turley
Opinion columnist, USA Today, Jan. 19, 2018

And of course Turley was right, Congress allowed the 5 year statute of limitations to expire on that lying cocksucker. Brennan too was never charged for actively lying under oath before Congress.

But Bannon is an outsider. Easy meat.

209 jakee308: "...or is it that some publicity agents got together and decided they'll push their clients out there for whatever the ongoing uproar is about on the social media or the nets?"

Yeah, that.

Almost everyone has their own opinion. A "celebrity" opinion is only validation for those who already have the same opinion. No one changed their mind for or against something because some public person said something.

But saying something is essential for middling or lesser talent "celebrities" because name recognition needs juicing when your career is waning. The biggest names, on the whole, almost always remain silent because their careers are winning. They don't need more exposure much less the risk of bad exposure. But agents/lawyers know the value of promotion for their disappearing clients, so to the Idiotmobile they go and parade around awhile hoping for a publicity boost.

And they can lock someone up for contempt also. It's not been done for a long time and would cause some real problems that they don't want to see go to a court.

Same as this They can vote to hold him in contempt and demand the DOJ do something but if Trump files for executive privilege and is successful (they usually are) Bannon will be able to come back at the House and it's members for all sorts of things and they do not want that either. So the DOJ may just slow roll it until they find out what the court rules on Trump Privilege.

257 pep, yup.

One of the things to remember about the Beatles is: they existed at a time when they had to come out with *at least one* album for the record company, every single year. This required them to pretty much record and release everything they could think of, not just their best stuff.

If they existed today I'd bet a lot of stuff that ended up on albums, we'd have never heard.

For 'the most part' I think Insty has drifted out of the NT commentariat orbit from what I have seen.

- Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (a huge flop, lousy, and it broke Robert Stigwood's RSO record label)

Preach it!

332 Coldplay is trying hard to be a secular U2, IMHO (like INXS was).

They suck at it.

333 233 I am growing to detest the Beatles. It is strange.

334 The best I've read all week is By David Cole at Takimag. Its about the trans mania, but also about what happened to Penn Jillette, and how one of the most logic-based, no bullshit, skeptical minds in our lifetime got completely flipped around, ass-backward, by his trans kid. Its one of those articles I wish the subject would read himself, with a slim hope it would jar him back to his former mind. It won't, of course, as he's a godless atheist. Something had to fill that hole, and it has, in true cult fashion. Link to Takimag.

It's actually very simple. As I've posted before, if your body says you're one sex and your brain says you're the other, the problem isn't with your body. You are mentally ill. We do not all have to entertain your mental illness.

You can actually tell if someone is male or female pretty reliably just by looking at their fingers. Males typically have shorter ring fingers than index fingers. For Females they are typically the same length.

336 This is typical Kula Shaker:

337 I bought a 40 foot ladder once, then sold it the next day. It started flexing noticeably half way up, and I'm like fukit, let the gutter grow a tree.

I have a old wooden 40 foot extension ladder under my front porch that hasn't moved in 35 years. It'll stay there another 35 if I live that long.

341 sOh, and forgot one Beatle film:

I Wanna Hold Your Hand, 1979; Robert Zemeckis directed this story of young teenage Beatle maniacs on their way to see them live.
Posted by: qdpsteve at October 21, 2021 07:07 PM (L2ZTs)

You also forgot 1994s Backbeat, which is about their Hamburg days. Henry Rollins was the 'singing' voice of bassist Stu Sutcliffe.

I've been up a 40 ft aluminum extension ladder and it was terrifying. And we had a 60 footer that I never had to use.

Gonna go with Spin Doctors. They would have been, too, if the gatekeepers hadn't demanded "everything must be ANGRY, now!" The Grunge and Rage takeover wasn't organic.

349 Wasn't Jamie Lee Curtis born intersex herself? That... probably is the sort of thing that leads one to sympathize with the trans agenda...
Posted by: American Hawkman at October 21, 2021 06:31 PM (vrJHj)

If she gave birth to a child, I doubt she was intersex. Fair bit of plumbing involved, and it all has to work right.

352 266 IMHO, for better or worse:

- Beatles are *the* band of the 1960s, complete with that decade's best and worst traits.
- Eagles are *the* band of the 1970s, complete with that decade's best and worst traits.
- U2 are *the* band of the 1980s, complete with that decade's best and worst traits.

They used to make magnesium in Texas. Electrolyzed Epsom salt extracted from seawater. Probably cheaper in China, since they don't have any pollution laws.

355 Yeah...you cut off parts that work, replaced them with parts that don't work, and you have to maintain this with weekly injections because your body is always going to try to get back to its original state. But now it's all perfect?

It breaks my heart; how does any physician justify enabling this?
Posted by: April -- dash my lace wigs! at October 21, 2021 06:40 PM (OX9vb)

There used to be a perfectly cromulent word for that: "vivisection". Maybe it's time to reboot the "Anti-Vivisection League".
