The Saturday Night Joke

An 85-year-old man was requested by his Doctor for a sperm count as part of his physical exam.
The doctor gave the man a jar and said, ‘Take this jar home and bring back a semen sample tomorrow.’
The next day the 85-year-old man reappeared at the doctor’s office and gave him the jar, which was as clean and empty as on the previous day.
The doctor asked what happened and the man explained, ‘Well, doc, it’s like this — first I tried with my right hand, but nothing. Then I tried with my left hand, but still nothing.
‘Then I asked my wife for help. She tried with her right hand, then with her left, still nothing She tried with her mouth, first with the teeth in, then with her teeth out, still nothing.
‘We even called up Arleen, the lady next door and she tried too, first with both hands, then an armpit, and she even tried squeezin’ it between her knees, but still nothing..’
The doctor was shocked!
‘You asked your neighbour?’
The old man replied,
‘Yep, none of us could get the jar open.’

Moar Saturday Night Humor

A man hates his wife’s cat with a passion and decides to get rid of it once and for all. He drives twenty blocks away from home and drops the cat there.
The cat is already walking up the driveway as the man approaches his house.

The next day, he decides to drop the cat forty blocks away, but the same thing happens.

He keeps on increasing the number of blocks, but the cat keeps on coming home before him.

At last he decides to drive a few miles away, turn right, then left, past the bridge, then right again, and another right and so on until he reaches what he thinks is a perfect spot and drops the cat there.

Hours later, the man calls his wife at home and asks her, “Jen, is the cat there?”
“Yes, why do you ask?” answers the wife.

Frustrated, the man says, “Put that cat on the phone. I’m lost and I need directions!”

If you enjoy traveling, do you have a bucket list of destinations? 50 destinations for that list.

The United States is about as varied a country as you can get. A lot of the time when you pick a country to travel to you know it’s either going to be hot and great beaches, or cold and good for winter sports. But with the United States, it seems you have the best of everything from big cities to deserts, beaches to National Park forests. However if you’re planning on going to the United States, you might not know where to choose. After all, the country is huge. But that’s why I got together with a bunch of fellow travel bloggers to bring you some of the best things to do in the USA. The United States bucket list items you don’t want to miss in each and every state.

I'll buy if you fly. He has a future in the beverage delivery industry.

A young football fan in Holland went viral over the weekend after he was caught carrying 48 beers in one go at his side's top-flight clash on Sunday.

FC Twente supporter Christiaan Roetgering, 23, was captured holding five full cartons of beer stacked one on top of the other for him and his friends, much to the delight of the onlooking fans.

The football fan delightedly revealed he did not spill any of the beers on his way back to his mates, but did admit that Saturday's achievement was not a record for the most beers carried at an FC Twente match.

I can't help but think that part of it is the proliferation of videos showing people doing something dangerous and succeeding. Of course, you never see the videos of people failing and dying. For many people now, what they see on a screen IS reality, so dying while doing something stupid just doesn't seem like a real possibility, much less a probability.

181 It was interesting to see that several border counties in NM, which are in the 40-60% Hispanic range voted Republican in 2020.

WZ reports that a caravan of 50,000 illegals is traversing Mexico, and will storm the border. That's the kind of thing that will get people's attention, far more than a few thousand a day for many days. I do not see it ending well for the Dems.

182 Another thing that blew me away was that the prices were wildly divergent. I saw three-bedroom trailers going for $20k and two-bedroom trailers going for $250k. Guess age, condition and location make all the difference...

Older trailers tend to be less well insulated. And firetraps. Newer double wides are more like a site built home. And location is everything in real estate.

I only know this because Mama Basura lived her last years in Yuma, in a new double wide. It was an upgrade from the fifth wheel down the street (which she then rented out).

Fortunately, in progressive Portland, we realize that non-violent crimes (like running theft rings) is unworthy of jail time, so we just hand out citations for stealing cars and catalytic converters. (It helps having a Soros DA.)

Fun fact: the county that Portland is in has half the jail space that it did in the 1990's, when the population was considerably less. This is a deliberate policy, pursued over many years - you can't jail people if the jail doesn't have the space.

Absolutely true - the county commissioners refused to budget the money to open the jail, because jails are icky.

The property was finally sold off, and is now a "a clean-and-sober homeless shelter and addiction recovery center."

The county spent $100 million on the jail, and it was eventually sold to a local oligarch for $5 million. He decided to turn it into a charitable undertaking, and provide housing and addiction services - over the furious opposition of the county government, which apparently much preferred that the site remain empty.

Ours had corn in it and the little shell pasta. It was more like a soup than anything else.

419 Good evening, everyone. One of my early music teachers played guitar for Jerry Jeff for some years. He got tired of JJ's drinking issue. Then he played for the Dixie Chicks (they screwed him). Now he's playing for Neil McCoy (Some Texans will know who that is).

By the way, while lauding JJ for London Homesick Blues, throw some props at Gary P. Nunn for writing it and giving to JJ to record. Gary said he didn't think the song was good at the time but he has learned to love it.

I played for a country star too, but the name is a secret. I did learn some very important things while on the road during the Outlaw Country days. One was: Never party with Rodeo Cowboys (Larry Mahan and band). Never. They are more dangerous when they party than cops, and I thought cops were bad news.

450 @303 Saw Dune today. It was worth the obnoxious gate price. They are really doing the book justice. I'd say it covered about 1/3 of the book so far. There had better be two more movies in the chute, or I will be most disappointed.

------

I just got back from it a little bit ago. I enjoyed it a lot. The sudden ending caught me by surprise, but it was a good stopping point (I've read the novel, so I'm familiar with the overall story arc) - assuming a sequel happens. If there's no sequel, then it's a bit anti-climactic, imo.

According to the Wiki article on the movie, there's been no official word on a sequel. But a lot of people are acting as if the sequel is going to happen. The theater I saw the movie at was packed. Assuming that was the normal state of affairs at other theaters that showed it, I think the sequel has a pretty good chance of happening. The director has stated that he's hoping for a trilogy, with the third movie covering the plot of Dune Messiah.

There's apparently also a prequel web series being worked on called "Dune: The Sisterhood", which is supposed to air on HBO Max. No idea when they're expecting that to see the light of day.

452 Portland is the worst place in Oregon, except for the airport. Portland and Detroit have great airports attached to sh*thole cities.

More coming out on the Baldwin shooting. The gun Baldwin used was being used by the crew "after hours" for target practice, with real bullets.

So these guys just informally "checked out" the gun for some target shooting off the set, then brought it back. Which explains how real bullets could easily have been left in. Also, another source says that real bullets and blanks were being stored together.

This was a total amateur hour operation for the gun handling for this stupid production.
