The Morning Report*

*Sans Sefton

defund media.jpg

We are an unserious country, but that attention paid to the frivolous and frankly stupid and ridiculous comes at the expense of issues that are quite literally existentially serious. And even worse, it allows the Long March to continue apace, led by the hard left and executed by its willing fools.

Here is an example of arrant stupidity in the corridors of power, but peer a bit closer and you will discover that it isn't just stupid...it is in furtherance of the leftist agenda.

4 of the Most Ridiculous Items Hidden Inside Biden's $3.5 Trillion Budget That You Probably Haven't Seen.

[...]the Agriculture Committee earmarked $3 billion to plant trees — but not just anywhere. Instead, the program promises “a priority for projects that increase tree equity.”
That sounds silly, but the word equity is the tip-off. Who will decide? Undoubtedly an NGO that we all know is linked eventually to the Left, whether that is Soros or some other bad actor on the geopolitical stage.

And here we have $25 million for "anti-discrimination and bias training" in health care:

[...]the budget calls for the Treasury to give the money to nonprofits in order “to develop, disseminate, review, research, and evaluate training for health professionals and all staff who interact with patients to reduce discrimination and bias in the provision of health care, with a focus on maternal health care.”
Anyone care to bet that this isn't just Critical Race Theory for grown-ups?

[...]among the most controversial outlays would be the nearly $80 billion the IRS would receive for tax enforcement. Because what every American said was that we needed the IRS to be more aggressive when it came to taking our tax dollars.
This is flat-out fascism with a green visor and a calculator. The IRS is perhaps the most powerful tool in D.C. to destroy the middle class and any remaining entrepreneurial spirit among small business in America. They want to massively increase enforcement..hunting down every last dime that they believe they are owed. And remember, they want the banks to report every transaction of $600 or more! That means that cash payment for a used car and the landscaper building a retaining wall and selling stuff at the flea-market...all will be reported if they get their way, and all will be taxed.
***

I have neither the energy nor the cast-iron stomach to wade through the filth like J.J. Sefton does every weekday, but here are a few links that piqued my interest or made the gorge rise in my throat.

Cheers!

14 Yesterday was a rough day.

After being led to believe that we were expanding the crew at work to be more resilient to people going out on COVID holds, I was suddenly laid off with no warning.

Goddamn shitweasels made me train my own replacement.

I suspect the reason is probably age related. I was one of the oldest people on the team, and if they did the same shit to me a mere half year from now, I'd be able to file an age discrimination suit.

Now I've got to look for work for the first time in a dog's age, and the only thing worse than looking for work is modern dating.

If we had a sane administration, we'd be invading China *RIGHT NOW* before they could get their hypersonic missile system out of the test stage. The optimal strategy would be a surprise attack announced minutes, or even seconds before the bombs started dropping. The first strike would need to target its missile test sites, rocket industry, and every known nuclear silo.

Destroying the economy is the goal. They've been doing that since March 13, 2020. Can't "build back better" if you don't first destroy what currently exists.

Obama had the CAFE goal of 54.5 mpg by 2025. I think President Trump got rid of that or decreased the target during his Administration. But I think Obama and his cabal of communists who run the Biden Administration have put that target back in place.

Hmmm, 2030? Why that year of all years? It means Biden's Build Back Better "infrastructure" bill is simply implementing the WEF's eventual Absolute Zero goals. Heck, he didn't even bother to hide it -- "Build Back Better" is a WEF slogan. https://tinyurl.com/rmynhwyk

Here's two ways they plan to reduce carbon:

"1. All products will have become services "I don't own anything. I don't own a car. I don't own a house. I don't own any appliances or any clothes," writes Danish MP Ida Auken. Shopping is a distant memory in the city of 2030, whose inhabitants have cracked clean energy and borrow what they need on demand. It sounds utopian, until she mentions that her every move is tracked and outside the city live swathes of discontents, the ultimate depiction of a society split in two.

5. We are eating much less meat -- Rather like our grandparents, we will treat meat as a treat rather than a staple,. . .

110 So what's the chance this colossally damaging bill is going to pass? It looks like we're just barely hanging by one Manchin thread and that's not very encouraging. Not by a long, long shot.

I think that there will be at Venezuela stage long before the IRS can get that $80B to be of any effect. I heard rumor that they require a new building. Look how long it took just to get permits to build the WTC replacement tower in NYC. Next, is staffing. Where are they going to find the number of accountants and bureaucrats who understand numbers and law? Most people can't even figure out how to read a soup can. I suspect that the IRS will be filled with Commissars since that is pretty much the only thing being cranked out by the schools. They are insane people so I expect that there will be plenty of systemic FUBAR that ends up doing more damage to itself.

140 I wonder how many trees $3 billion will plant. It's a government program, it is focused on "equity" (e.g., inner city areas), will be riddled with outright bribery and graft, contracts will be granted to preferred minority-owned businesses (equity again) which, based on experience in other projects, will have inadequate staff and know-how to do the job and thus be subcontracted more widely, etc.

My guess is that the bill will come out to at least half a million bucks per tree, and that the $3 billion will buy no more than 6k trees.

Looking like the virus was merely the trigger, the excuse for implementing the more effective paradigm shifts in society (e.g. vaxx passports create new standard of having to earn rights = social credit system). As for killing off people, reports on how patient care has degraded in the last 1.5 years are disturbing.

165 I couldn't help but think that, though there were other dorms affected by the installation, Baldwin Cottage was one of the worst places for it to occur. There are myriad reasons to want to be housed in Baldwin Cottage, but many people -- myself included -- choose to live there for an added degree of privacy and a feeling of safety and protection. A significant portion of students choose to live in Baldwin because they are victims of sexual assault or abuse, have suffered past invasions of privacy, or have some other reason to fear cisgender men.

Oh, it will still knock them flat. It's unavoidable. The problem is the route toward getting knocked flat that we're on. It's going to knock *everyone* flat. There are two ways for it to happen with this whining maggot:
1. He finds out that big, burly cismen do all the work and he has to get over it.
2. He and his ilk change the rules to make sure trannies and women do the work, and then no work gets done quickly or well, and then instead of being able to get something none of us can get anything. A repair takes four attempts, costs 10x as much, and parts are unavailable. The world ends.

It looks like we're on track number two, but that doesn't mean that he isn't going to get knocked on his ass by the real world.

That's a high-risk play. There's a chance that they would lose. Total war between nation states will be all-consuming and there is a major chance that the periphery blows up, breaks off, arms up and stands athwart them once the major powers are exhausted and beaten down. Internal revolution within the great powers is a non-trivial risk as well. I think they'll accept those risks, but I don't think it's their preference.

I think the preference is to lay the groundwork now (and they are) for ghettoized, concentrated, impoverished misery while also expanding the sex war to further reduce mating and reproduction and grind down the population over the next two generations.

I think the virus was intended to kill the population. I do believe it was an accidental lab-leak in that it got out too early. They have a new one in the works - Nipah with an estimated 80% fatality rate.

The mRNA is also a chimera, they leveraged C19 to terrify the population into perpetual Emergency State until the emergency state tyranny is accepted as the New Normal.

They are testing the efficacy of the New Normal on the population by how many people go along with the mandates.

The supply chain collapse was seen years ago and many of the big players already built structure around it. In fact, the Trans-America Corridor was a response by some as a way to counter this very supply chain collapse.

Sort of. Chinese birth control measures started in the Great Stumble Backward and it took another *30* years to grind down to replacement levels of ~2.1 children per woman. Then they lost ground in the late eighties into the 90s, and birth rates increased again. Only starting in the early nineties through the late aughts did they actually achieve meaningful sub-replacement figures, and that took drastic draconian intervention and the consequences of that were only offset by the gigantic economic boom they engineered with our money.

But even that begs a question: why bother? We're already sub-replacement (1.78 children per woman). And we're still ahead. How about Germany? It's a mere 1.6 children per woman. And if we go back in time a piece to when there were two Germanies, East Germany in the mid 80s say fertility of below *1* child per woman. The policies they're pursuing will take care of the problem all on its own without draconian enforcement. Nothing crushes birth rates like post-industrial and/or communist hellscapes.

right ... $1000/tree for a ten dollar tree that will not survive in a concrete jungle. ...

My Medicare Advantage "gives" me $60/quarter for meds and small tools like blood pressure devices. But the price they list is around five times as much as WalMart prices, at least on things like ibuprofen (Aetna uses CVS, which gets $4 for 50 ibuprofen, WalMart is ~$7.50 for 500). ...

Extending that brief analysis out, about 80% of BigGov spending is graft and subsidy. ... It is probably much less on the local level, where smaller cities have tight budgets and can get in the face of their mayor. They could also just start paving the suburbs for all of that multi-family zoning they keep talking about. That would even out the tree ratio, and also put suburb dwellers in their place. I think I know which they'll choose.

Odd as it may seem, there is some helpfulness in that headline. For instance, we are using the opportunity to wean the grands off some of their "it's just a fact that I should have X". They pretty much have the idea that things should just be there and you should just have them. I'm saying this poorly I know, but it can be an opportunity to wean them away from materialism as the default way of life.

Yet another arena where the government pretends to be God. Contrary to what the apostate Name It And Claim It theology clergy sell , part of the work of the Paraclete is to spiritually transform the Elect to be "content in all things" as Paul and our LORD taught.

So the government feels it can forcefully manipulate a person's spirit to be content with fewer and fewer good and services.

Concentration is how. Take more and more of the pie. Once enough people are on the dole, the welfare system can contract. When there are no choices - no work, no hope, no progress - then people will take what they can get even if they don't like it. The dole will shrink in relative terms while the share owned by the elite increases. Suicide will help, too.

At least, I suspect that's the theory.

IIRC, in the movie Say Anything, Ione Skye's dad was found to be a tax cheat because he bought a bunch of items right around the $600 mark with cash.

Yup. Titled property is a bitch and a half. When I was buying my house, I at one point asked my realtor, "Why? Why do we have to jump through all these hoops? Why can I just go to the seller with a grocery bag full of money and buy this thing?"

Real property is *very* hard to buy with cash, and not just because large quantities of cash are a bit of a bitch to deal with. The amount of paperwork is staggering and everyone soaks his beak along the way.

Yes; I think it sounds incredibly uncomfortable, which is why I suggested that the people who initially came up with this idea (It's probably men, not women) should have to wear the wedgie outfit for the day. I think women who work at Hooters would probably not feel upset about men gazing at their rears or they wouldn't work there, but they just want to do so in comfort to get the nice tips.

I was working with this dude decades ago who was brokering out a very large deal. It was absolutely amazing how many people were falling out of the ceiling trying to get a piece of that transaction.

Dittos with a property exchange. A large mega church went to buy new property, because it was a very large purchase all kinds of people were trying to get in on it. There was one guy in particular who didn't even have his brokerage license yet managed to weasel in and snap up a large chunk of the commission providing nothing of value - just part of the corruption that is part of large deals.

I think the USPS doesn't understand it, though. This week, I will have had two pieces of cheap "media mail" arrive an average of three days early and two pieces of expensive "priority mail" arrive an average of two days late.

There's another good documentary called Out of the Shadows about how much invasive control google and Facebook have in us and society. Disturbing.

495 Joe Rogan is pretty much an asshole. He's not our friend.

Joe Rogan is a fighter. When somebody attacks him he fights back. That is an example for everyone. It is easy to mistake a fighter for an asshole, if you miss the fact that he was attacked first.

This is great. Glad to see the employees winning the fight. This isn't just Southwest losing this battle, come union renegotiation time -- the employees could take Southwest to the mat. Deservedly so. And I'm not a union fan.

500 Asked on Friday what should happen to individuals who defy the subpoenas of the Jan. 6 commission, Biden said, "I hope that the committee goes after them and holds them accountable criminally."

Pressed further on whether the Department of Justice should prosecute such individuals, Biden argued that it should.

DOJ spokesperson Anthony Coley subsequently responded to those remarks by saying in a statement: "The Department of Justice will make its own independent decisions in all prosecutions based solely on the facts and the law. Period. Full stop."

507 "among the most controversial outlays would be the nearly $80 billion the IRS would receive for tax enforcement. Because what every American said was that we needed the IRS to be more aggressive when it came to taking our tax dollars."

Context: IRS's current allocation is $12.5 Billion.
Soo...they want a 640% INCREASE in IRS funding.
Primarily to moniter EVERY savings account, but sold as a means to "Audit" the total financials of under 5% of the Population, a group that already has TEAMS of high priced and highly skilled accountants and Attorneys prepare their returns to DEFEND against any IRS claims.
(IRS currently only even questions 24% of tens of Millions of people who's returns fail to mention W2's and 1099 the IRS already has on file for them, pretty clearcut, easy to enforce discrepancies...perhaps the reason they do not is because many of those 'extra' w2's/1099's are from stolen identities/illegal aliens, and once they have 'proof' they then must DO something about it)
