The day after the sit-down, the head of public affairs for the Supreme Court emailed Couric to say the late justice had 'misspoken' and asked that it be removed from the story. Couric writes that she was 'conflicted' because she was a 'big RBG fan', referring to Ginsburg's moniker.Well, in fairness, this is only Katie Couric's first instance of selectively editing an interview to accomplish a leftwing agenda victory. The makers of a new Katie Couric documentary on gun violence deceptively edited an interview between Couric and a group of gun rights activists in an apparent attempt to embarrass the activists, an audio recording of the full interview shows. At the 21:48 mark of Under the Gun a scene of Katie Couric interviewing members of the Virginia Citizens Defense League, a gun rights organization, is shown. Couric can be heard in the interview asking activists from the group, “If there are no background checks for gun purchasers, how do you prevent felons or terrorists from purchasing a gun?” The documentary then shows the activists sitting silently for nine awkward seconds, unable to provide an answer. It then cuts to the next scene.... However, raw audio of the interview between Katie Couric and the activists provided to the Washington Free Beacon shows the scene was deceptively edited. Instead of silence, Couric’s question is met immediately with answers from the activists. I always wonder about this with guys like Lauer and Weinstein - Who said yes? I think the self-driving cars are 95%+ of the way there. Google's cars have driven thousands upon thousands of miles autonomously. The problem is, the last 5% or so have some really hard problems to solve.
They don't just have to navigate roads and traffic and traffic signals and things. They have to also make decisions when there are no good decisions. Sometimes you have to decide between running over a kid, t-boning a bus, or driving off a cliff. Sometimes you have to navigate through a pile of cars where nobody's following the rules of the road.

Jobs are strange sometimes. Usually there is a culture in place that encourages a certain type of work plan. I have managed sites where it was expected to work 6 days a week, 12 hour shifts (and I had to stand on people's necks to take that one day off.) Work like that self selects for people who want those hours (hate home life, live outside their means, drugs, etc.)
My guess would be that a lot of these pilots knew what they were signing up for as far as 'voluntary' overtime and that when they suddenly choose not to work it, it is anomalous.

Most times it's not as bad as might be imagined. Crappy winter weather makes it a bit interesting. That subset of idiot four wheel drivers is always a factor. Like most things, experience gained (miles driven) enhance skill and confidence.

Essentially that's what was done with the Interstate system. They had to develop a routing system that even the almost brain dead could use (and even then it fails at times) without causing too much trouble.
The Interstates were also a reward to the Trucking Industry for not having any strikes during the war. That and Rail and airline regulations that fostered the false growth of the Trucking industry.
The way it should work is trucks from plant to central point then rail then trucks again to sales point. But that allowed Rail and potentially air to have too much of the business. So Rail and Air were throttled and rules made to divvy up the country amongst the truckers and then the highways to tie it all together.
And now we see the flaws in that sort of point source failure. The lack of Trucks or truckers can bring the entire system down (altho that 's not why we're having the shortages)

Rail is limited by physical barriers. Tracks only go certain places. If a business isn't near a rail line, it's a no go.

It's not for religious exemptions. It is for them to be APPLIED for. They are NOT ensuring there will be any religious exemptions but they do have to provide for applying for them.
Neat trick there. Everyone will think the religious exemptions will be the rule and that's not true.

And that's why they would use central loading points. Some manufacturers/producers would have access to rail. (and you can get rail to a lot of places you might not think they could)
but generally that would be the most fuel and time efficient way to transport goods from point to point. But the ICC manipulated the rules so as to favor the trucks and almost ruined the country because they forced the railroads into bankruptcy so they had to relent.
